Jump ship when I have the first phone with 4g? although my phone has never seen 4g and probably never will. Too bad it can not run on LTE. Verizon has their networks up before their phones are release, Sprint went kind of backwards on this one for some.
I have no problems with Sprint service, and Im on a great affordable plan. Im sure sprint will get some new flagship phones over the summer.
No. I currently have the best plans on the market, so I don't see the logic in spending more for less with another provider. Besides, I have a feeling Sprint is gonna surprise us in a good way, come June.
PS. My name is HondaCop and I approve this message.

Nope no reason to replace my EVO....
I dumped my iPhone 4 for the EVO!!! Sprints network is better than AT&T for my area anyway. I just can't wait for them to roll out 4G service in AZ. I do wish the EVO had better battery life though......
Plus if you do a service plan comparison Sprint has the better plans.......
I won't be leaving sprint anytime soon, and if i do it will be because of coverage more than a particular phone.
If in a year or two Sprint doesn't switch to LTE or at least get some better spectrum for wimax, I'll probably leave.
Verizon and I believe ATT will be using some of the 700Mhz spectrum for LTE and that is the only game changer for me...but their plans are expensive and I don't think their customer service is as good as Sprint.
I saw a recent review in a magazine at the doctors office that pointed out that AT&T had the worst reviews for customer service and cell service.
On the other hand it Sprint has been recognized for their strides in providing better service and better signal.
I had Verizon for a short period of time this year. I don't expect that much has changed with their customer service or their rate plans. They are very ineffective at customer service and seem to just not care about it. With out making this post a novel, Let's just say they couldn't even show me my bill in a store.
I have had Sprint's flagship since June when it was released ... with their rate plans for the Evo and other 4G phones there is no way that I would consider leaving then as a customer.

You should try the myns Rom and some kernels to change that battery life.. mine is like excellent.. way better than ever and I'm not exaggeration.. and I'm a heavy user.
Leaving a network just for a phone is silly, since every network will get a better phone than the one you have sooner or later. Leaving because of costs/coverage? That at least makes sense.

Why would I jump ship, I'm not easily swayed by everything that glitters. Plus I get good service and plan.
To sum it up, HELL TO THE NO.....

Label it whatever you want, silly, traitor, etc. but that new monster Motorola Atrix phone shown at CES this year seriously has my nipples fully erect. that thing is just a beast. i really hate all the other cell providers(various fees, caps, coverage, etc) but damn, thats an awesome phone!
I'm leaving Sprint and the EVO... but only because I'm moving someplace with no Sprint... blah
Im gonna sit out this contract not because of money, but because the next big thing is dual cores. Till I see an awesome dual core im not jumping anywhere.

Nope! I left Verizon for a reason. Their prices are ridiculously high for less! My Evo will have a very good shelf life, sprint should be rolling something out of their sleeve soon anyways.

Best reply of the post.
No... I have the best priced plan with one of the top available phones and get full 4g at work constantly for tethering when needed sparingly on my laptop. Bought my EVO of craigslist, by contract expires after June 27th and still will stick with Sprint after that.
I have a contract from when I bought my hero, paid out of pocket for my evo and had it replace my hero, I will gladly pay out of pocket again for the evo 2, I like sprint, I like my 4.3 inch screen, if I can keep those 2 with an upgrade I will, but dangle whatever phone you want to in front of me and unless it's sprint with 4.3 or bigger I won't care the least
no phone can tempt me for the 100 a month we are saving (vs verizon)

For real. If Verizon gets this exclusively that'll be garbage.
Great, another outlet to throw away our privacy and give companies more of our information to use and sell, for the convenience of being quickly informed of when we can give them more of our money...
Lmao. I got duped on google nexus register. Samsung is sending advertiesments to me now. But no mention of nexus. The ole bait and switch just for advertising. Even lamer.
I voided my warranty and your nexus.

I am using a damn Samsung gravity. I sold my sensation for this crap. I am going to get amaze.
I just saw that. YOu know what? F*** google. They claim that they intend to do things differently, but then at the end of the day they sell out to the highest bidder.
I was a serious google fan, but the edges are starting to crack and it is slowly dawning on me that the innovative, fast moving company of the early 2000's is becoming a weighed down hegemony of bean counting MBA's who are starting to only get it right when they get lucky.
Exclusive on the most expensive carrier in the USA. The same carrier that replaced their search engine with Bing on 1/3 of their Android lineup. Not a word of it breathed at their week-late press conference. My own fault for getting my hopes up, I suppose.
I am due for a new phone around December/January and this will afford me the opportunity to take a good long look at what Windows phone has to offer before the Galaxy Nexus is even available to me.

Don't feel bad. Just remember one thing. Google is a business company. They don't care about me and you. They support whoever pay more. I am going to get SGS2 or HTC Amaze. I don't have a choice and can't wait longer than the end of nov which is my upgrade time.
i used to be with Tmo but had to switch cause i got stationed in Montana, and now im kinda glad i did, even though I loved the big T
If tmobile is going to get it, they will mention this at the event on Friday. we will see.
Relax. I highly doubt its anything more than a timed exclusive. Both the nexus one and nexus s were only on one carrier originally.
And yes, if you were planning on getting the international one, i'm pretty sure it will still work on AT&T or T-Mo as long as the bands match up.
Well if they're pentaband then you could just buy the world phone model at full price and go. I think it only affects those looking to pick it up on a contract.
It is weird Verizon having a Nexus. Seem to clash together but my work has Verizon so why pay for a personal line?
G2x - 2.3.7 CM7
Transformer - 3.2 Revolver OC/UV
Bet you when they are referring to the 'exclusive' Galaxy Nexus they are only talking about the LTE model and all the others will get the pentaband one at pretty much the same time.
Just had a thought... I know it doesn't say it, but... maybe it word play. I mean they will be the exclusive carrier of the LTE version, but remember there's too versions. Hhhuuummmm
Stupid Samsung, why can't you just release carrier info. when you unveil it.

I'm not gonna act like I'm not disappointed they have exclusively, especially since the other Nexus phones started as exclusive to one carrier as well. I wish they would just drop the whole exclusivity thing and make it available to everyone day one as exclusivity only really hurts the consumer. No way I'm switching to Verizon for this phone. I'll either import or wait for the GSM version to hit the US (if it's not that long of a wait). It's really bad for the phone's sales too considering in the world of smartphones, the next big release is always right around the corner and you will lose a lot of potential customers who will get something else because they don't feel like waiting anymore or something else hits the market. The average consumer doesn't know care about the Nexus brand, they care about new and noteworthy so why not try to rope them in while the iron is hot?

I'm getting near the end of my sprint contract. My employer offers a sizable discount if I use verizon as my carrier. Is there something comparable to the Evo4G on Vzw? I went to their site, just not sure what is comparable.
Any help would be most appreciated.
You could consider holding off several months. There should be a precipitous drop in older hardware and the new goods will start rolling.
For now the HTC Rezound seems like the best bet for price, awesomeness and similarity to an Evo 4G. The new Nexus and Razr are there too.
I am interested to see the new HTC X One (previously Edge) and where it shows up.
I don't think anyone can blame you for going to VZW, Sprint's network is garbage, and Sprint is taking its cost advantage away. Good luck.
I may be in a similar boat: I'm waiting to see if Sprint will let me out of my contract for horrible data speeds, excessive [and unintentional on my part] roaming, etc. I spoke to Verizon, and asked if I had a phone already, if I could hang on to the discount for a new phone until summer, they said that works fine... So I've been debating just getting the Rezound (in my opinion best phone they have right now), or buying a used Thunderbolt (which from my understanding is basically our EVO with a slightly newer chipset, and seems to have a lot of dev support) to hold me over until the quad-cores come out in summer/fall. At this point I'm leaning towards just getting the Rezound - mainly because there will always be the next and greatest on the horizon, but it'd be fun to have something that powerful right now. Now I just have to hope Sprint let's me out...
Just my 2 cents.
Edited to add:
If you couldn't tell from my ramblings, OP, I'd recommend the Rezound...
The only other two that compare are the Razr and Galaxy Nexus. The Razr is pretty awesome (the girlfriend has it), but the locked bootloader means if you care about development/roms/kernels it's probably not for you. And the GNex seems awesome in theory, but once you use it, you realize it is a Samsung, and thus has crappy reception and gps.

Has there been any rumors/whispers/overheard a conversation in the bathroom news of any future WP7 phones that may be coming to sprint?
Sprint will launch a new Windows Phone about a month after Apollo RTM. You are looking at September period.
The device will feature Snapdragon MSM8960 and LTE.
Source: The Verge
Sprint's network currently sucks too bad to support any kind of phone.
Maybe it will change in the future.
This is a bummer. I'm on Sprint now with only the HTC Arrive and I do want to stay on it. Unfortunately I've been sold on the Nokia Lumia 900 so I'm gonna jump over to AT&T once that's out.
Kinda annoyed that both Sprint and Verizon both have exactly 1 Windows Phone. Seriously lame.
While Sprint may be releasing an LTE "Windows Phone 8" device in September, I'll believe it when I see it. Either way, they are so far behind in LTE that it would take a few years for it to be readily available around the country.
I've been with Sprint for about 4 years, and ditched them today for the Lumia 900 and AT&T (pre-ordered). Sprint has shown ZERO support for Windows Phone since it's launch. I remember being laughed at for trying to get the $50 pre-order gift card for my HTC Arrive when it launched last March.

I hate to admit it, but I've been thinking of leaving Sprint for the Lumia 900 too after their lack of support for the Arrive. I'm trying my hardest to hold out though, I don't want to feel buyer's remorse when I see the snazzy new Apollo-based handsets come out a few months later. I know I'll want one of those instead simply because it's new.
I also went to my local Sprint store and asked about that $50 pre-order and nobody had a clue what I was talking about. They eventually called the manager who told me there was no need to pre-order and to just show up on the Sunday release date because there wouldn't be any lines or sell-outs for a Windows Phone. I'm glad I followed his advice because I saved $100 by ordering from Wirefly and still got it within days after it was released.

I may be reaching a bit but I think Microsoft may be party to blame here, if you remember Windows Phone didnt have ANY CDMA support when it was initially released in November 2010, it wasnt until 6 months later when the Arrive came out that there was a CDMA windows phone anywhere maybe if there was CDMA and GSM support in the beginning Sprint and Verizon would have put in more effort
Meh. Sprint and Verizon chose to use, and keep using, a cellular technology that very little of the rest of the world uses (some in China, and I few other countries, but the majority is overwhelmingly GSM). NoDo wasn't *that* long in coming, and it's been more than a year since it shipped. At the rate that phones come out these days, that's plenty of time.
I have no problem with sprint releasing another EVDO WP.. So long as I continue paying $40/mnth

I totally agree. Pre-orderer the Nokia Lumia 900 and am saying bye to Sprint. Thanks for the low cost plans Sprint but you guys suck when it comes to having actual good phones.
I really love the Lumia 900 but I went to price plans with AT&T and it costs almost 40% more than what I have with sprint, not to mention the fact that data is capped. I'm definitely frustrated with Sprint's lack of focus with 4G and WP7 but 40% is 40%.

I will agree that Microsoft was partly to blame for the INITIAL sludge in to the CDMA market with Sprint and Verizon... however, it has been nearly 13 months now since the Trophy and Arrive were released on the two carriers. There is further opportunity for new devices, but both Verizon and Sprint have put their marketing focus behind iPhone (and some Android).

My problem with Sprint isn't the price, it is the speed and availability. I travel weekly, and have resorted to carrying a back-up phone (Samsung Focus unlocked on T-Mobile) due to limited service and speed on Sprint's network. Sprint is perfectly fine in major metropolitan areas, but smaller cities (like Fort Wayne, IN where I was last week) leaves a lot to be desired.
If and when Sprint decides to make the jump to LTE, they are going to be at least 12-18 months behind the competition in network expansion. I'm more than happy to pay a premium price for a premium service.
Sprint has always been good to me. It sucks they only have one wp7 phone but for some reason cherish the iPhone.
I have been with sprint for almost 10 years now. In the last 2 years I have seen them add a $10 fee per smart phone(on a family plan that is an extra $50 a month), they increased the cost of my additional lines, they have taken away the premiere program, while in a 4G city I can't get 4g, and their their 3g speeds gotten have extremely slow. I would like to stay with sprint because it is a big hardware investment to switch carriers but sprint hasn't made it very easy for me. Now they are lacking in the windows phone offereings. I have a couple of Zune HD users in my house and they really want a WP7 phone but are not pleased with the idea of the arrive. I think sprint was banking too much on the iphone giving them a jump start because of their unlimited data but it has panned out as well as they had hoped. I think this is why why they have ignored the WP7 platform.

Not surprising. I'm sure they want to play the "wait and see" game after the Palm Pre didn't do as well as they hoped and they want to go with something that has already proven successful on other carriers.
I would've stayed with sprint but their 3G speeds were getting far too unbearable here in Chicago and the suburbs, plus so many broken promises on when they would fix the towers,it just wasn't worth the $97 I was paying, now with T-mobile I get 10GB of full speed, 500 talk, unlimited text for $100 and my speeds are better than they ever were on sprint, even my throttled speeds are faster than sprint.

Is the LG phone gonna be better than the Nokia Lumia 900?
So, I am currently in the market for a new phone because I am sick of how HTC treats their customers. I was wondering if you guys thought jumping on the Galaxy Nexus would still be a good idea even though the Sg3 is out.
The Sg3 looks amazing, but it is kind of out of my price range with the average price being $400. I have found a few Nexus' anywhere from $200-250 which is more my style. The thing that worries me though is that it is already close to a year old and I know the minute I purchase one the next greatest phone will be out.
Does anyone know when the next Nexus phone will be out? I am due for an upgrade around March, but would really like to jump to a 4g phone before then.
What do you guys think? Stay with the inc2, grab a Nexus, or just wait until I can get something with my upgrade?
Any ideas?
I've had an upgrade since July I was going to get the sg3 but when I found out it was dual core it turned me off BC I was stoked for quad. Then I was going to get the inc4g, but I hate sense and I'm tired of HTC. I was close to getting the gnex on Saturday for $50 from best buy, but like you said its already a year old plus the 5mp camera is kinda iffy for me especially since the og Inc had an 8mp back in 2010! I'm going to wait for the galaxy note 2 coming out soon 1.6 quad core 2gigs ram super HD amoled running JB
I was considering a SG3 as well, or the GNEX, but I am currently satisfied with the Inc2 at the moment and will way my options when I am ready for a new device. I am curious if anyone has tested out any of these phones and had any opinions as well. I have not "upgraded" since they got away from unlimited data, so I am still grandfathered in and not sure if I will sign a new contract or just purchase the phone. The 4g is not a big issue with me as Big Red has not brought it to our area yet, and probably wont see it anytime soon.
Maybe I will wait for the Note 2 as well. My friend has the SG3 and the screen on it is beautiful. The one thing about the Note which I am unsure about is the stylus. I don't know how I feel about that. It's not like that is a big deal breaker for me, just something I'm unsure about. I have had 4g in my area since it has been released, for the most part, so I def want to go 4g. I am worried I will lose my unlimited, which is why I was starting to look for 4g now.
Samsung does make a great looking phone though. Colors are so vibrant on them. When the Note 2 comes out, is it supposed to be better than SG3 or is that phone still going to be considered the best?

It's not HTC's fault. They already gave the OTA to vzw a while ago. It's big red's fault for not releasing the goddamn update already because they need to bloat the **** out of it before they can be satisfied.

The stylus to me is just an accessory. You can function the phone without it. If I use my upgrade I will lose unlimited, but I'm only using 1.3 gigs a month. Not to mention my $200 phone bill and 2 unused phone lines. So upgrading will cancel unlimited data but I'll be saving $100+ dollars a month with my military discount. There's no real reason to use 4gig+ of data so I wouldn't worry about losing unlimited. Unlimited data users probably are getting throttled anyway. The note 2 is going to be a supercharged s3. Check out the specs on both http://www.autoomobile.com/news/samsung-galaxy-note-2-vs-s3-4/1003595/
My only problem is whether to stay on Verizon or not. The Verizon version of the note2 is going to have the Verizon brand on the home button! I can't believe that. I'm super satisfied with my inc2 only BC I rooted. But the lack of ota is troubling. This phone isn't that old

Do you know of a way to check the actual data usage without calling up Verizon? I also just did watch a few videos of the Note 2 being used and all I can say is WOW. This phone looks like it is going to be a pure beast. Also, you are right about the stylus being an accessory. After watching this video with it in use, I think I completely changed my opinion on it.

I only have 2 options for cellular service, Verizon or Cell One because I live in a small town. I have been with Verizon since probably 2004, switching from Sprint when I lived in Atlanta GA. I have never had an issue with them as far as service quality, prices are a bit high but I will pay for them as long as I have good service. As for the Inc 2 I will probably use it for another year or so before I consider switching, unless something happens to it before then. I have only been using mine for about 3 months or so and paid $75 for it from an acquaintance of mine that upgraded to the RazrMaxx.

I am from New Jersey love the service I get from Verizon. I have yet to go someplace that doesn't give me great service (unless I'm in a basement with no windows or something similar). As for other services, I have just about everything you can find in my area and from having friends I pretty much see everyone leave all other to come to Verizon. AT&T is the only one that can compete with Verizon in my area, but the only people I know that have that service is the Iphone users. For $75 you can't go wrong with this phone. It is def a great phone and aside from the lack of updates and no 4g that is my only complaint.
Nitsua, you say Big Red has the OTA and I have heard that before also, but how true is it? Is Verizon keeping the OTA secret because they are bloating it up or do they actually not have it? We may never know the truth until it is either released or they come out and say that the OTA will not be coming. Of course, I hope it comes, but I feel myself slowly getting sick and tired of the wait, especially since they promised up end of Aug. and now we are a week from October.
Yes, They have been late on phones before, but from my research, this is the longest they have gone after missing a date which really angers me towards both HTC and Verizon.

Verizon has it. How else would you guys have your ics leak . They have to perfect it though and make sure that there are no bugs. Also since it's an older device that not many people have, they are setting their focus on other phones.

I'm not too bothered by not getting the ICS OTA honestly. There are plenty of ICS ROMs that are functional enough for me to use. I'll just stick it out until I can upgrade in July, 2013 and either upgrade or switch carriers. Who knows what phones will be out by then?

Do you know of a way to check the actual data usage without calling up Verizon?

Play store has a VZW app for usage.
I have a droid bionic just sittin here. I may use that, but with that remote phone wipe hack I may just forget about it.The hack doesn't seem to affect the INC2.
my upgrade isn't till may. Depending on the inc4g, i will purchase it if its s-off. Otherwise, I think i'll be getting the SGSIII. My next phone has to be unlocked someway.
I'm really diggin the xperia phones. And it looks like most of them are getting ics in the next couple weeks. The ion is free on the us sony site.
Depends what's out by August 2013
