I have Desire z with the following problem. If I turn mobile internet off and then turn it on again I see the data icon (G or H) for a second and then disappears and it says failed. To fix this, turn off the phone, remove sim card, insert sim card and turn on the phone again and it works until I turn if off again. HTC support suggested that I factory reset the phone which I don't want to do.
Some background, the phone was bought from the UK and I did superCID in order to install official HTC arabic rom (installed) and am still on Android 2.2

I re-post the solution of my problem : it was lost yesterday due to server problem
My HTC Desire was blocked after I change 2 time the SIM card.
It was only for a GSM provider test, not for a HTC Desire problem...
2nd time I change the SIM card, the HTC stop to boot, blocked with the White screen with HTC logo.
Of course, I try to remove battery, retry... but always blocked.
I can go in the boot menu in holding the "Volume down" key during the boot process.
I try "Recovery", but blocked too with the Recovery logo /!\ in red
Yesterday, I post a question on this forum, and someboddy reply me to try to completly erease the configuration data and cache.
I try this solution : in the boot menu, I go to "Clear Storage" option
and IT WORKS !
After, the HTC reboot and the Cyanogen mod run correctly.
Of course I need to reconfigure my Google account, and reinstall the applications. But it's not too difficult, and my HTC Desire in Ok now !
Why I have this problem ?
I don't know...
Perhaps I remove the battery just to quickly after I change the SIM card for the 2nd time ?
Thanks for your help
Hello Everyone,
I have HTC Desire Z with android 2.3.3 and i face a problem with its screen as following:
the screen when i turn on the mobile it's black even when the mobile enter to the system and home page
the screen still black but all function are working will
I test the touch and the preview of the screen by SnapPea software which make me able to see what screen display live
when i touch the mobile to the PC.
but unfortunately i try to factory reset from the SD storage and so i delete the SnapPea from mobile so i couldn't be able to connect the mobile to this software in PC anymore.
What I did before the screen became black:
- I try to root my mobile by using the three software: visionary+ , ROM Manager but the root operation didn't completed successfully
so i delete the software from the mobile.
- after the mobile locked after the time outed the screen change to black and didn't work again
can any one help me to define if the problem done from software issue or it need to replace the screen
note:
i couldn't able to enter the bootloader screen or the factory reset "by click volume down + power on the turning on the mobile"
the screen is black in this stage too
thanks for you
Hello,
I have special SIM card issued by my operator which enables mobile ID use (with sPIN authentication) for connecting to bank or e-government. Works like this:
1. The user clicks the "Log in with mobile ID" option on a supported website
2. The phone displays a screen indicating that a connection is being made
3. The user is prompted to enter a mobile ID sPIN code into the phone
4. The screen on the phone disappears and the website is automatically reloaded with a logged in screen
It worked fine with stock firmware, but after I've rooted my HOX I'm not getting sPIN request screen anymore (step 3).
Have tried several custom AOSP or AOKP ROMs without luck, but found some of them partly working.
One I'm using right now is [ROM][4.2.2] Slim Bean - Endeavoru [STABLE][Build 7]. Mobile ID worked for first days after flashing it but later I was only able to use it for a few random times (after restarts). Then it works till next restart...
I was first thinking its an issue of incompatible apps I've installed or system settings I've mixed up, but somehow it works sometimes after restart (with very low success rate though). Also tried to restart into safe mode - it worked for the first time, but no luck for the next ~20 safe mode restarts after that.
I've also found hints it could be stk (SIM Application Toolkit) related problem. I can see SIM toolkit in my app list, though it doesnt' show up on running processes on developer tools.
If you're still reading this and have any ideas, please make some comments, maybe it would help me to get back on the right track, thanks!
Hello everyone,
I have a Htc desire 816 N single sim LTE, following a GPS problem (detect +/- 20 satelites but no fix) I tried to restore my Nandroid backup and the start I was blocked on message "android update, application loading", following this I changed the recovery and the permissions since this stage the phone starts but sense home does not appear, I can access on the settings but nothing starts (airplane, wifi, data, ...)
I proved to install
--> s.rom but the rom is blocked on stratup
--> SVHD but it's on rom for double sim and 4g not present in settings
I would like a rom, or last Nandroid backup or RUU and how to install it ...
Thank you
Hello,
I have installed LineageOS 14.1 on a Samsung Galaxy J2.
I have just installed my SIM card, and notice it doesn't connect automatically to the cell phone network. I always have to launch a detection, and choose it manually, anytime i restart the phone, or turn off / turn on the airplane mode.
The same SIM card installed in a Galaxy S6 with original OS works fine (the connection is automatic)
And with another SIM card from another mobile phone carrier in that J2+LineageOS, the connection is automatic.
Do you have any idea of what the problem is ?
Thanks a lot !
