[solved] HTC Desire blocked : white screen HTC - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I re-post the solution of my problem : it was lost yesterday due to server problem
My HTC Desire was blocked after I change 2 time the SIM card.
It was only for a GSM provider test, not for a HTC Desire problem...
2nd time I change the SIM card, the HTC stop to boot, blocked with the White screen with HTC logo.
Of course, I try to remove battery, retry... but always blocked.
I can go in the boot menu in holding the "Volume down" key during the boot process.
I try "Recovery", but blocked too with the Recovery logo /!\ in red
Yesterday, I post a question on this forum, and someboddy reply me to try to completly erease the configuration data and cache.
I try this solution : in the boot menu, I go to "Clear Storage" option
and IT WORKS !
After, the HTC reboot and the Cyanogen mod run correctly.
Of course I need to reconfigure my Google account, and reinstall the applications. But it's not too difficult, and my HTC Desire in Ok now !
Why I have this problem ?
I don't know...
Perhaps I remove the battery just to quickly after I change the SIM card for the 2nd time ?
Thanks for your help

[q] problems with texts after upgrade

hi,i Just upgraded to latest version of Sense, as prompted. I now find that I can't send texts to certain people - either from compose or when replying... i get a quick 'please wait' message and what I've typed stays on screen. If I exit the screen, the msg is stored as draft. If I re-open, I still can't send it. If I compose a msg to one of the people I can't send messages to but also send it to myself, then it gets sent! this is frustrating and means i cant use the text facility easily. I have rebooted the phone, checked the numbers and APN settings, all are ok (all worked fine before the upgrade). please help.. .? thanks, mark

CHEERS, but can't access recovery mode (although can get into scroll menu where I can see it to select it) - my phone's not rooted - maybe that's why. .. not keen on rooting it as it's a company phone . .. Any other ways of clearing it?
cheers, Mark
hi, exactly same problem. I contact htc suport. they told me
please try to put the phone on the safe mode by following the below steps:
1- Turn off the device (Remove the battery)
2- Turn on the device without pressing any thing
3- When you see HTC logo press and hold Vol. Down until the device Vibrates.
that resolve the problem
easy and quick, no need for rooting
then i restart again normally and everithing is perfect

HTC One M9 - Not booting properly after Factory Reset - Please Help!

Hi forum,
I have just reset my HTC One M9 back to factory settings and now when it starts it immediately gives me Google Play errors and will not boot. The errors repeatedly show on the screen and it will not boot normally rendering the phone useless. The messages I am getting are:
1: Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped
2. Unfortunatley, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped
I click OK and they just keep coming over and over.
I can't get onto the phone to change settings and would just like it to work again. I am not bothered about custom ROMS, just want it working however I can.
Can anyone point me in the right direction, please?
Thanks for your help.

You can try starting your phone in safe mode by holding the vol down button when the HTC logo shows when you start up. *release power key and start pressing vol down when htc logo shows*
See if you can start properly with Safe Mode and if anything can be updated there. If it doesn't work, just wipe the phone once more using recovery mode and see if it works. If it fails again even after another wipe, you have to install the RUU for your phone again using the SD card method in the Readme thread.
hi,
shut down your phone
boot into bootloader mode - select boot to recovery
"WARNING - ALL DATA WILL BE LOST"
Next select from Recovery Mode menu "wipe data / factory reset" using Volume buttons to navigate and Power button to confirm.
Choose "Yes -- delete all user data" to confirm the whole operation.
After that select option "reboot system now".

After battery replacement HTC one M8, Reboots to t-mob , until battery is exhausted.

After replacement of Battery, HTC one M8 cycles through Reboots to T mobile splash page, until battery is exhausted. I reinstalled the old battery and now I have the same problem with the old battery.
Now The only way to power down
• Disconnect the battery or
• Pressing –volume at reboot to show bootloader and select power down
I have TWRP 3.1.1-0 and a working backup file on the SD card, in my phone. I tried a “Restore”
The restore starts, but upon restoring Data, After the Progress: of 67MBof 13221MB,0%, I get the following red error message. “ExtractTarFork()process ended with error:255”.
Upon “copy Log” (in TWRP ) after a while the phone reverts back into the continuous reboot and no log file is copied to the SD card.
I hope it is not a hardware issue. The Htc case is open and on/off switch is not stuck.
Who wants to help me with this challenge?
