Hello,
I have installed LineageOS 14.1 on a Samsung Galaxy J2.
I have just installed my SIM card, and notice it doesn't connect automatically to the cell phone network. I always have to launch a detection, and choose it manually, anytime i restart the phone, or turn off / turn on the airplane mode.
The same SIM card installed in a Galaxy S6 with original OS works fine (the connection is automatic)
And with another SIM card from another mobile phone carrier in that J2+LineageOS, the connection is automatic.
Do you have any idea of what the problem is ?
Thanks a lot !

So I followed the directions to offline install W10 to my 8.1 lumia, then installed the .ppkg file to get onto the enterprise branch. Throughout all of this, there was no SIM card, and it was connecting fine to WiFi. Ran the OTA update to 10586.1045, reset to factory and it still connected to my WiFi. Then I reinstalled my SIM card, and it now won't connect to any wifi connections. If I remove the SIM and reboot, it connects to them again. Replace the SIM, reboot again, no WiFi. It can sometimes see one of my signals (2.4, but never my 5g), but it won't connect to either of them.
Thoughts?
Here is the setup I followed: https://forums.windowscentral.com/w...test-10586-xxx-14393-xxx-15063-xxx-build.html
As an update - it appears that the phone will connect to unsecured networks. My networks are WPA2.
change registry to supported device and upgrade to AU or CU (recommended AU for x20 device)
UPDATE: 4G/LTE wouldn't work without erasing all possible APNs except Ting's (with some messing around to get settings correct). LOS14.1 continued to throw errors with this install though so ultimately re-flashed with RR and it's working perfectly now.

I'm trying to port an S4 Mini SPH-L520 (CDMA) for use with Ting. Has anyone successfully done this with full access to phone, text and data? Having updated the carrier settings while stock, then flashed LOS 14.1 I've got functional voice, SMS, WiFi and can see 3G sporadically when I refresh network settings, but 4G/LTE's a no-go -- I get a "Your mobile data service couldn't be activated" error from the setup wizard every time the phone starts. It's definitely seeing Ting's SIM card because it's showing the correct ICCID, but won't work at all in RUIM/SIM mode ("No service", "Select SIM Card" with no options) and defaults back to NV. Haaaalp? I'm very computer literate but cell phones are terrifying and mysterious black magic...
I was on PixelExperience (latest) and yesterday flashed through Magisk 17.0 and 17.1. Today morning device couldn't connect to mobile network at all (2G/3G/4G/LTE). Wiped it completely, flashed latest dev firmware and Nitrogen OS + unofficial Gapps for Android Pie. Everything works quite smooth, but still my device can't connect to mobile carrier - any ideas what I can try? It's crucial for me to fix it today since I need to be able to send/receive SMS tomorrow.
Tried switching sim slots?
Just to see if the sim card works with the other slot.
Does an IMEI number show for both slots under settings - about? (Don't tell us your IMEI)
Are you sure your network provider hasn't cut you off by mistake or some other weird account based issue?
Try another sim if you can get one.
A pay as you go sim without credit should still show a connection even if you can't use it
Yeah, I did try.
1. Tried other card (got polish Orange card which connects to EE, UK EE card - both work in my brother's SGS6).
2. IMEI is okay, don't know if IMEI SV should be 00 though.
3. Cards work okay in SGS6.
99% it's software issue - I've used Magisk modules to widen Wi-fi bands and other modules - I did format all partitions and flashed latest stable Global MIUI through fastboot though and it should override all the settings. I've used the *#*# code and I can't pass the test.
hello,
some days ago i flash my mobile with fastboot then i realise that sim card slot changed.
sim slot no. 1 is now 2 and sim slot 2 is now 1
after automatic update on android 10 latest version but sim 1 data connection not working..when i turn it on no cellular symbol show.
i tried correct APN setting, reset network setting, factory reset but still not working data connection in only sim 1.
sim 2 work well.
after that i decide to downgrade for android 9 and continue vai fastboot..then finally its work ..sim 1 and 2 both date connection work but sim slot problem not fix..
my question is how to solv sim slot exchange problem and android 10 one sim data not working problem.
thanks.

Swapped sim slots sounds like what happens when downgrading to Oreo. The fix for that is to use a newer (pie) modem partition.

I see a more recent thread complaining that sim 2 does not work. I only use sim 1 and it works for me.
Did you try turning the phone off (not just sleep or reboot)? My data connection almost always dies when I install an OTA (probably TWRP). Turning the phone off and sometimes leaving it in airplane mode for an hour fixes it.
In my case, the network is rejecting data connections (call and sms works). This was not in the regular logcat...
adb logcat -b radio
