EVO 4G Can't make or receive calls - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've had my handset for a year and 7 days now. Rooted the day I got it, flashed a new rom the second and have been trying new roms almost every 2 months since.
I noticed starting about 4 days ago if someone calls it will ring 2 times then quit. Didn't think much of this because I get a lot of junk calls so I just ignored it. Last night someone called that I wanted to talk to, answered it and the phone hung up. "Call was lost." I tried calling them back, along with 10 other numbers and it'll connect and ring but after 8 to 10 seconds "Call was lost." I have PERFECT signal strength and ALL other features of the phone work including text and internet.
Rebooted, restored to a previous rom, Restored to factory backup. Nothing has fixed it. Attempted to update the PRL, wouldn't. Updated the baseband to current, doesn't make a difference. I have been considering getting a new phone, but the problem is I can't afford to pump out $300 for a new handset without being able to sell mine on craigslist. Can't sell a phone that doesn't work, you know, as a PHONE...
Help???
Current:
PRL: 60677
Baseband: 2.15.00.0808
Rom: Evervolv-Acies-1.1.0b3-Wimacs
System Version 2.3.4

Flash to the latest stock sprint rom, and call sprint. They will probably re-activate your phone, and it should work fine.

Dropped calls every 10 seconds

Hello XDA'ers,
My girlfriends phone calls have been dropping on her all day, when she answers the phone, the call drops within 10 seconds. I tried helping her as much as I can over the phone since I am at work but still no help. She has stock root with Clockworkmod which was done about a month ago. She also told me that by accident she did an OTA update about last week then cancelled it half way because she remembered I told her not to do so. Thats where I think the problem COULD be at.
I already told her to update her PRL and Profile but no luck. I think I will reflash it when I get home or maybe flash a Rom for her, probably Sprint Lover Rom just to keep it standard. Any suggestions? Thanks in advanced
So I here at the house and my phone is doing the same now. Im figuring its a reception problem on Sprints behalf. DAMNN!

[Q] Help! Is it Sprint or my Epic?

I was stock with CWM (installed some leaked builds) but did 5 factory resets and installed stock GB.
I have read a lot regarding the updates Sprint is making to their network, GPS fixes, and Sprint bloat. I thought most, if not all, of the issues were fixed in GB but I am still having major problems. Last Friday I drove from Tampa to Orlando and back. I was on the interstate the whole time. After 20 min. Telnav lost the GPS signal. I waited 30 min, gave up and shut it off. On the way home, after about 20 min, Google Nav did the same thing but regained it after 30 min. Also, my phone often shows zero bars but will jump to one or two bars after I push send for a text or try to make a call. Even in the Sprint store I had zero bars. They tested the phone and said all is well.
So is it my phone, Sprint, or just an Epic issue? One last thing, the NASCAR app froze my phone for over 25 min. last night. Finally was able to Force stop the app.

Bring it into a tech Sprint store and tell them your problems.

Sprint ran "all the tests they can run" on the phone and they said everything works perfectly.
Do you have a long time with it 'cause if not, there's something called "Customer Satisfaction" =/...
Another thing you can do is to call Sprint Customer Support & tell them all your prob's again, if you are paying your warranty monthly fee they can send you another (or at least a refurbished) Epic 4g.
Hope this helps! =)

I found the best way to get GPS to work with EI22 modem is to run a different ROM not the stock gingerbread. Im currently running marcusant's 5.5 rom and loving it having no issues with GPS.

I haven't done anything yet. I am tired of going to a sprint store, only to be told the phone is fine. My wife's Replenish and my daughter's Rumor Touch are having similar issues with text messages not sending/receiving and not being notified about missed calls or VM. Sprint says all of our phones are fine. I am the only one in our family that uses GPS and even when they show signal bars, my phone has less or none.
I've rooted the phone in the past but never installed a custom ROM. I installed a leaked version of Froyo, had issues with it, then I factory rest my phone 7 times over a couple of months. I did a factory wipe 3 times before downloading the GB update and installing it from my SD card, I didn't wait for the OTA. Do you think a custom ROM would fix my issues? Kind of waiting for CM7.

ERROR 16 through Virgin Mobile

I have been using an epic 4g which I flashed to VM a few months ago. Being naive I was using the standard VM prl. I had been running cm7, but recently flashed to cm9 on my epic 4g. A few days ago due to the crappy VM bandwidth I decided to try the latest sprint prl. It worked great. I recently acquired an epic 4g touch and flashed it over yesterday. After flashing I tried to test the phone, made a phone call, and got an error 16. The E4GT is rooted but does not have a rom. I thought maybe it had something to do the PRL I flashed. So I flashed another prl and this still gave me the error 16. The odd thing is that when I called out from my original donor phone it dialed out. What ended up working is that I waited for the creepy guy on the other end, gave him my info with the "correct" donor phone, then he goes "ok you are good,' the line went silent and it worked again.
Just thought I would share if as many think that rooting your phone causes the error 16, which I don't think that it is.
That usually happens when you have your donor phone and your flashed phone on at the same time. It raises a flag in the system in case someone is trying to steal service, or in this case, just flashing the phone over.

[Q] Sprint + E4GT: Question regarding location time and custom software

So, I'm a very long time lurker, going back to the Galaxy Indulge and MetroPCS days a few years ago. I've had my E4GT for a while (about a year to be precise) and I'm curious about something; as many of you may or may not know, sprint tends to be slower than many networks in locating its phones to send a call their way (usually 1-2 rings). Lately, my phone has been ringing once, or less, before forwarding to voicemail. I recently disabled Google Voice integration to try and troubleshoot that, but I wanted to put a feeler out here as well.
Basically, the things that have changed are as follows:
I have a refurb E4GT because the old one developed hipster cracks in the screen, and I made a TPP claim
I loaded GB27 with GB08 modem (AGAT's recovery) though my phone claims I'm GB08/GB08
Have tried PRL 21096 and 11119
Symptoms:
When calling my phone, it rings 1-2 times at most before going to voicemail, even at full bars. Also Facebook thinks I'm in china.

[Q] Cannot get data provisions on my old Evo 4G

I upgraded last June to the Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch, and 11 months later, after having it rooted, broken, replaced under Best Buy's Geek Squad Protection, only to have my new refurbished unit ruin a battery and refuse to stay connected to bluetooth, decided to sell it back to them with their buyback program they used to offer (got $280 for a phone I paid $100 for to begin with), and go back to my Evo 4G (I like Sense better than TouchWiz anyway).
The problem is that for whatever reason, my Evo, which worked fine at the time of my upgrade (aside from a cracked screen), will not actually activate. It's running CWM v4.0.1.4, with Android version 2.3.5. I replaced the screen on it, tried to activate it on Sprint's website with as much success as they can give me, however, the phone itself doesn't connect to any sort of satellite. The only way I have any form of connectivity with it is via WiFi. "No big deal, I'll just switch to my girlfriend's old Evo until I can figure out my phone's issue," I thought. Fast forward to getting hers activated, everything works just fine - calls, text, wifi, 3G, 4G, the whole nine yards. Hers is running the same CWM and the same Android as mine, but hers works.
I've tried flashing mine back to a stock ROM (I forget what is on it right now), I've tried updating the PRL a hundred times, but always get an error message about it not being able to complete. I've even tried letting it sit for 24 hours,as several sources on the internet have told me it can take up to 24 hours to provision completely.
The only thing I haven't tried is physically calling Sprint, because they're weird about rooted phones, from what I've found in my research. I've seen claims that Sprint won't do anything with rooted phones, or that they can't tell that they're rooted and still can't figure anything out.
Will Sprint be of any assistance if I call, or will it be wasting my time? I've seen so many people with similar issues which Sprint, for whatever reason, simply cannot figure out. Is there anything beyond calling Sprint I haven't tried yet?
What ROM are you on? Stock, AOSP, what?
If you're on a Sense ROM, just call Sprint & tell them what the problem is. They won't know the phone is rooted unless you tell them it is.
