Hello everyone, I'm newbie, so I can not even post anything to the xda developers forum.
I would like to know that radio and RIL is recommended for new Capy's RCMIX 1.4 . Thanks
He doesn't recommend radios. I believe he said you can use whatever you want.
His viewpoint on radios is, if it's not broken don't fix it!

tnx
and about wipe?
In this post seem to be automatic with 1.4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17932692&postcount=3047
He always recommends a wipe before flashing. Says this in his first post on the thread "requires full wipe"
No problem, glad I could help

Thanks a lot!
You're very polite!
And now I'm waiting for 1.4's MD5 checksum and then I'll download it!!!

Hi.
Related to the Radio and RIL i really recommend to have a look at this awesome thread by amresh. There you have all links to every available Radio and RIL.
I myself have flashed Radio_12.62.60.27_26.13.04.19_M and i am very satisfied with itz performance. The only negative thing i could find is, that sometimes when u take a phonecall it takes half a second or so that the other person can hear you. But i'm not even sure if this is related to the Radio.
About the RIL: Your DHD already has the most sutable RIL for this new Radio.
Before you flash your Radio, as always: do a backup !!!!
Then i recommend to fully read this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877295
as it provides life saving information about how to do it right and not failing epically

To searching for gps... i have been using lous redempyive evo rom and its bad ass. Ut gps still funky not workinv then working on and off... i asked him what he thought he said may e try going back to stock and start all over.... but was wondering if there was another way cause i really do not want to do that at all... any help is greatly appreciated thank you

What radio are you on - latest or the .9 or .7, and, are you using the kernel in Lou's ROM, or something other? If a different (non-stock) kernel, maybe try the stock one found in the Virtuous section or ROM manager. Radio is self-explanatory - there's a fine radio thread here on XDA.
Please post results/issues in the fix so others may benefit from your experience.
I would try something like Virtuous ROM and see if it works okay. His ROM is rock solid.

Agree w/ ejdavis' guidance - also check which version of the radio you are running.
The Virtuous ROM uses the stock kernel too.

Look for and follow the very good Radio thread here on XDA - following it as directed should not brick your device. The only way to know whether this solves your problem, or eliminates the radio from the list of issue candidates, is to flash it.
Hi everyone. Just updated to supposedly latest radio 12.48.60.23U_26.08.04.07_M3. No probs yet and battery seems to be keeping the heat in!

haha didn't check the date! Thanks for the heads up! I'm having a bit of difficulty finding a radio that gives good battery life. What radio would you recommend..?
I've found that the newest official Radio_12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2 (from the link in your signature) gives me the best battery life and I've tried almost all radios.

Nice1 thanks. I used it a few weeks ago and then changed for some reason, prob just to see what else was out there. I recall it being excellent.
So, is the radio's performance dependant on the ROM in way way? Also, what RIL are you using?
Not really no and almost all roms are based on the official gingerbread update and the radio came with it so the roms should be optimized for it anyway. RILs should always match the radio you're using, but the newest custom roms should already include the matching RILs for the radio I suggested.

THX I NEED it
the newest radio is the best mate...
Just posted this update in the Recommended ROM/RADIO/RIL/KERNEL Combinations thread..
Flashed the Telus radio: 12.35d.60.140fP_26.06.03.24_M2 and it's using 3-4mA per minute in stand-by. It's pretty much the best I've tested so far. I'm going to stick with it: http://www.multiupload.com/4CQ8919NO6
what ril are you using with that radio? This one 12.35d.60.140fP_26.06.03.24_M2
the 1003g one? I;ve tried flashing that ril and cannot get it to work?

The RIL's in my signature.
Remember, you have to mount /system in cwm before you flash it. Just look in one of the menus within cwm and you'll see mount /system. Select it and then flash the RIL as your would flash a rom or anything else, from your SD card.

I´ve never (and when i´m saying never i relly mean never) used my Radio on the smartphone, but i test it for you ! Your effort makes me smile... (Radio, Camera...)
Keep up the good work ! Who have ever thought this will become that important on a phone !
Im guessing this is european based?
will give it a go, maybe it's better for US than the China based radios lol
Keep in mind that htc did some changes to radio interface f.g. in ramdisk. So basically I would be very careful with flashing only QUO_6260.fls.clean. Also radio upgrade process is probably related to recovery OTA mode.

On Tegra devices the radio can be flashed or, more accurately, installed without s-off since it lives on the system partition.

Flashing, hope it's an improvement ^.^
I haven't Tried this för long But already it seems to decrease the constant flipping between 3g and hdspa while I'm on my way to work. So it's definetly an improvement as i have had no connection issues för the First time since getting the phone!
I would recommend anyone to try it!

Hang on so all this time we were able to install updates on radio ? and our current flashes that include radio have infact been taking ?. why is it on the system partition, where is it normally on the kernel ??.
I think there are two parts in radio
Radio Firmware - somewhere in flash, protected by security
Radio Interface Layer (RIL) - this is what this thread is about...

Alright then, if I'm not totally mistaken this seems to be the 5th (in words: fifth) thread you opened (or hijacked) for the same issue. I understand well that you are a bit desperate about finding a solution. But you should bear in mind that this is NOT a support desk.
I'm pretty sure that you won't find any more help if you continue with this kind of behaviour (open one thread after another).
Furthermore it looks like you even don't read the responses to your questions.
You should bear in mind that this is a very small part of XDA-Developers' forums and there aren't many ppl using the old Willy. You can be sure that a lot of ppl in here have read ALL of your questions.
In short: I'm done Good luck!

Hi naman i am having similar issues with my HTC Wildfire (Marvel) tried to flash an updated radio still having problem, can you please help me with the steps you used to fix this problem.
More details about my issue:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1902646
it happened to me, the only solution I found was flash the backup of my original Rom Sense, turn on 3G and check that it worked.
Then without turning off the 3G flash another rom clean (a bit like the problem of the gps).
is a bit long but I was going crazy, my Willy sometimes restarted.
Do not forget Custom MTD Partitions, if you use it, the whole process over again

I am having HTC Wildfire S, ihave posted in wildfire S section as well but have not got any resolution yet. Am still waiting for that, since i found similar issues with Widfire Buzz i thought of asking the question in this thread as well.
I am rooted and using Hsensemod 7, i have also tried CM7.2 for Wildfire S but the problem still remains. So i can say that it does not seem to be a ROM specific issue

the problem here was rom specific, there were some issues with build.prop and a broken radio.
so its better to check yours.
if radio update didn't work, try reflashing your old radio.

Regarding my own problem I'm pretty sure that it has not been ROM specific. But "my solution" did help at least two others who had the same issue on CM9 - so it's probably either CM specific or a combination but as I already mentioned in my answer in the proper place for his problem to me it sounds logical that it's not ROM specific. I believe that it has to do with the missing possibility to wipe or format the radio partition.
But I'm just a bloody noob so I might be wrong, of course

i was using cm9 when this issue occurred. We were suggested to re flash the radio.Even it didn't help, then somebody came with a conclusion that there was some problem with build.prop.Editing build.prop as said and then re flashing the radio worked. This is the reason i called it rom specific.
But I'm a bigger noob,so chances of me being wrong are sky high.
