Alright then, if I'm not totally mistaken this seems to be the 5th (in words: fifth) thread you opened (or hijacked) for the same issue. I understand well that you are a bit desperate about finding a solution. But you should bear in mind that this is NOT a support desk.
I'm pretty sure that you won't find any more help if you continue with this kind of behaviour (open one thread after another).
Furthermore it looks like you even don't read the responses to your questions.
You should bear in mind that this is a very small part of XDA-Developers' forums and there aren't many ppl using the old Willy. You can be sure that a lot of ppl in here have read ALL of your questions.
In short: I'm done Good luck!

Hi naman i am having similar issues with my HTC Wildfire (Marvel) tried to flash an updated radio still having problem, can you please help me with the steps you used to fix this problem.
More details about my issue:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1902646
it happened to me, the only solution I found was flash the backup of my original Rom Sense, turn on 3G and check that it worked.
Then without turning off the 3G flash another rom clean (a bit like the problem of the gps).
is a bit long but I was going crazy, my Willy sometimes restarted.
Do not forget Custom MTD Partitions, if you use it, the whole process over again

This could be ROM specific issue,As you are having Wildfire S(not a wildfire),people around that forum could help you in a better way.

I am having HTC Wildfire S, ihave posted in wildfire S section as well but have not got any resolution yet. Am still waiting for that, since i found similar issues with Widfire Buzz i thought of asking the question in this thread as well.
I am rooted and using Hsensemod 7, i have also tried CM7.2 for Wildfire S but the problem still remains. So i can say that it does not seem to be a ROM specific issue

the problem here was rom specific, there were some issues with build.prop and a broken radio.
so its better to check yours.
if radio update didn't work, try reflashing your old radio.

Regarding my own problem I'm pretty sure that it has not been ROM specific. But "my solution" did help at least two others who had the same issue on CM9 - so it's probably either CM specific or a combination but as I already mentioned in my answer in the proper place for his problem to me it sounds logical that it's not ROM specific. I believe that it has to do with the missing possibility to wipe or format the radio partition.
But I'm just a bloody noob so I might be wrong, of course

i was using cm9 when this issue occurred. We were suggested to re flash the radio.Even it didn't help, then somebody came with a conclusion that there was some problem with build.prop.Editing build.prop as said and then re flashing the radio worked. This is the reason i called it rom specific.
But I'm a bigger noob,so chances of me being wrong are sky high.

Hello all
I have just rooted my desire using unrevored3. I did a very short research (as I was l8 for work) and got few ROMs.
My question is about data and CM7 as well as one other.
On the ROM topics I could see that CM7 want me to download latest radio, do I need it? And one other ROM gave a kerneldownload link (either villan or oxygen cannot rember) and again do I need it?
I have a desire gsm in uk rooted with clookwork orange recovery (or however it was spelled).
I don't want to loose my data.
If I doubble posted, or it is all explained I'm sorry (again work), and you can remove or point me in a direction to check.
I'll do my best to catch up with research tonight, untill than thank you all for help.

1. It could be that you need a newer radio. But I can't tell from here. If everything works there is no need to upgrade. Flashing a radio won't do anything with your rom, so you won't lose any data.
2. You should do a little more searching about what a kernel does. You can always try a different kernel but you don't have to. Some kernels have a lower batterie drain then others, but not every phone likes it.
Hope this helps a bit. Just search a little bit more about the subjects and then just try it Always make a nandroid so can you restore your rom just in case.
Hi
Thanks for your reply m8.
As I planned after work I did more reading and research and got my answers. Now I have a new question.
As I was looking through all the ROMs CM7 requires a special HBOOT and partition table.
I read about HBOOT a little, and general idea is better hardware support and improvements. Now will this brick my phone or is it secure to use? Will it work with any other ROMs or just this one? If I flash this and than letg say oxygen will it replace HBOOT or will it stay the same or maybe brick everything?
If someone could help me here I would be gratefull.
As well as all this I have just realized that when I am in recovery it says:
E: cannot load recovery/command
E: cannot find MISC
And 2 more simmilar lines (recovery/log and misc again)
When I try to do backup in recovery it comes back with an erros as well.
All help would be greatly appricated!

There are a lot of good AOSP roms. You just need to test it yourself. You can start with Gingervillain and then try a few others. There is an index thread where all the roms are sorted.

I have a quick question.
When i was scrolling through all the posts in few threads related to AOSP builds some people were saying something about Oxygen HBOOT for some builds and similar stuff so i was just wandering is i can use mine aplharev 1.8 HBOOT S-OFF for all flashing purposes without any fears of bricking or i need different HBOOTs for different ROMs, that is what confuse me :/.
Thanks you all in advance

From that thread:

I very much doubt that there is anything wrong with your phone. Did you use the tool with "I have Radio S-OFF" box ticked? Try it with and without. On pretty much all the cases the error is a false message caused by weirdness in HTC drivers. So do not worry. You can reboot.

This is a pretty common issue for custom roms. And in most custom rom, they should be fixed already.
In my opinion, the problem you are facing is most likely rom related issue, so it is best you go back to the thread where u downloaded the rom and browse through to see fixes. Or simply update to the latest version of your rom.
well i went through the forum and to my surprise or unfortune no one has reported abt the issue i m facing. and i checked the rom official site, the rom i m using is indeed the latest stable rom, i even checked my phone's wifi antenna its not hampered or has moved from its position.

You can try re-downloading cm7.2rc3. If it doesn't work, download cm7.2rc2 to see if it works, restore your apps after you find out if it's working. That rom is Gb and shouldn't be having those issues.

let me explain in a very explicit manner possible. i was using cynogenmod 7.2rc2 long back with same wifi problem so some user on xda advised me to update the rom to latest version ;7.2rc3, so i did the update.but when i started facing same problem with 7.2rc3, i reported this in a post on xda to which u replied to downgrade the rom to rc2. but as i ve aforementioned that before reporting it on xda i was using 7.2rc2 version with the same wifi problem so corollary of this is if i downgrade it back to rc2 there ll b no difference except i ve to redownload my apps and configure settings.
and one thing more i ve re-flashed the cynogenmod7.2rc3 but that also does not work.

Damn, I accidentally thanked you. I was saving that one since it was going to be the 100th thanks I was going to give.
Go to the market, download cat log or any other way you prefer to create a logcat and post it in the cyanogen forum, or here see if someone can help. I'm thinking it's something particular to your phone/radio/service provider.
I'll flash the rom either tonight when I get home or tomorrow when I have some time. But I doubt I'll be able to reproduce the same issue.
Edit: have you tried fixing permissions in 4ext recocery or whatever you use? Sometimes it helps.

Search for logcat and find which one you are more comfortable using. There are several ways of getting one.
Logcats help developers figure out what is causing the problem.

Ok, it should be a stupid question. but a bit scary if it is true.
i readed in a forum it said when flashing ROM with a long gap version number (for example 2.3.4 to 4.0.0) will causing damage (or hard brick). so if currently you are now in 2.3.4 you should upgrade if first to 2.3.7 (one step above) then 4.0.0 (if you know the version step properly will be fine, if not?? who know if there is 2.3.5??).
so guys is it true or not? for me it is sound not so logical.
want to get info through the net about this, but a bit confuse what keyword to use to search..

It should be all OK. Greatest concern is flashing bootloader, that might "brick" your phone, but there are solutions for this all over the forum. Anyway dont worry about that, if you have some approved bootloaders for ROMs from this forum, you should be OK, then flashing ROMs is without problems. I have been flashing official ICS to GB, then to JB, and nothing bad happend.

Before you flash anything just be sure to follow the roms instructions and also keep in mind that you should backup your phone before you start to flash anything incase anything does screw up. I went from 2.3.4 to 4.1.1 (AOKP rom) and have had not too many issues that haven't been solved from the rom.
I think you're refering to the "0 percent battery" issue which occurred for some users flashing back while 2.3 was all we had, not so much an issue these days.

Hello All,
I know it topic has been discussed many time, but please clarify me something more on this.
I have a HTC One V Cdma device, i flashed a custom rom recently and i experienced continuous reboot.
So, i searched the forum and found that i have to downgrade the radio and then use the kernel provided by the developers.
I found this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2018518.
In this link i am finding the Football's Primo Shipped ROM Collection links unavailable.
From where else i can get this file.?
Also, what will happen when i downgrade the radio ? Will it cause any adverse effects ? ..
Also let me know how to install this RUU
Ok. So the RUU you are looking for if you have CDMA is this one.
http://www.htcruu.com/securekey.php..._Sprint_WWE_VM_1.08.652.11-1.08.652.6.zip.md5
You also want Stock Recovery and Stock Boot.img. before restoring to the stock RUU I believe, unless your doing it your own way.
The site is htcruu.com and all thanks to JMZ.

Thanks for the reply bro. I am seeing 2 type of files .zip and .exe file. Which file i should use ?
In many threads i am seeing that we should flash the radio 521_2. So now which file i should choose for the same.?
Also the .zip file is of very small size only 17MB and the other file is 350 MB why there is a huge difference between the sizes.
please assist. All i wanted is to run a Stable JB without boot loop.
The RUU is the bigger file. Just make sure you use the right one.
The Zip is the OTA update that will cause the bootloop on Custom Roms.
So....why do we even have a q&a section if people can just post here and get answers without repercussions?

I experience the same boot loop or freezeup with custom rom. And what worked didn't have wifi and came with other bugs. My old HTC wing had easier rooting to be honest. I eventually gave up with this modding this phone so I might sell this phone out of frustration.
