Just flashed 12.48.60.23U_26.08.04.07_M3.. I'm using the RIL as per my signature, hope they'll play nicely

You replied to a almost 2 month old thread? That isn't even the newest radio anymore btw.

haha didn't check the date! Thanks for the heads up! I'm having a bit of difficulty finding a radio that gives good battery life. What radio would you recommend..?

I've found that the newest official Radio_12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2 (from the link in your signature) gives me the best battery life and I've tried almost all radios.

Nice1 thanks. I used it a few weeks ago and then changed for some reason, prob just to see what else was out there. I recall it being excellent.
So, is the radio's performance dependant on the ROM in way way? Also, what RIL are you using?

Not really no and almost all roms are based on the official gingerbread update and the radio came with it so the roms should be optimized for it anyway. RILs should always match the radio you're using, but the newest custom roms should already include the matching RILs for the radio I suggested.

Yeah, but it still seems to work better than the newest Radio_12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2 release.

THX I NEED it

the newest radio is the best mate...

Just posted this update in the Recommended ROM/RADIO/RIL/KERNEL Combinations thread..
Flashed the Telus radio: 12.35d.60.140fP_26.06.03.24_M2 and it's using 3-4mA per minute in stand-by. It's pretty much the best I've tested so far. I'm going to stick with it: http://www.multiupload.com/4CQ8919NO6

what ril are you using with that radio? This one 12.35d.60.140fP_26.06.03.24_M2
the 1003g one? I;ve tried flashing that ril and cannot get it to work?

The RIL's in my signature.
Remember, you have to mount /system in cwm before you flash it. Just look in one of the menus within cwm and you'll see mount /system. Select it and then flash the RIL as your would flash a rom or anything else, from your SD card.

New update kernel

With the new update for the evo can I now use that kernel on other roms that run 2.3 with sense 2.1 and will it fix the brightness issue?

Depends on the rom! Just from my experience the version MIK tweaked from the MikG v1.0 - Re-Engineered GB Sense 2.1 + 3.0
[Kernel] - 2.6.35.10-htc-kernal_and18-2 - from the OTA:" worked for me on misfits and of course miks rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038967
It is in his OP thread.
I am running Gengersense B4, and I spent today updating to all of the new radios. The last thing I did was find the kernel included in yesterday's Gingerbread OTA, and of course, my Wifi now says "error".
The brightness problem with the leaked GB kernel is fixed, but my wifi no longer works. Anyone else with this problem?
I'm using Sac's Kingdom Rom V4 and the new kernel fixed my brightness issue (also made everything run much smoother).
Ya I updated all that crap and then my phone wouldn't sleep. Sometimes don't fix it if it ain't broke. I will probably try it again though.

Did you update to the 2.15 PRI? I know the 1.90 was quirky with newer baseband versions and was causing wakelock. I went with 2.15 today and also update the radio to 05.02, and I'm not getting any wakelock.

Is your wifi working? I'm frustrated because I finally got this rom fixed up for everyday use, the new radios were working great, and my LAST task to update the kernel fixed the brightness, but made my wifi crap out.
There are 2 kernels out one for the stock ota update and one modified for all other ROMs make sure you have the right one .
Here is a link .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038701
But I think you could find it in that link a few posts up from the mikg ROM.

Thanks linsalata28. I probably flashed the kernel for the stock rom. I need to flash the other kernel for Gengersense, correct?
I will post back after trying the non-stock.

I'm not using the kernel, but from what I have heard, it's breaking wifi for a lot of people.

Luckily I did a nandroid backup before flashing the kernel. Would this restore the other kernel?

[Q] Which RADIO for Virtuous Sense v2.0.0 from RMK?

Hi,
I'm using Virtuous Sense v2.0.0 from RMK which is an excellent ROM by the way!
In the thread of the ROM I saw, that the suggested RADIO is 26.04.02.17.
But that RADIO is suggested since Virtuous Sense v1.x I guess. Isn't v2.x based on the latest HTC update which uses the RADIO 12.56.60.25_26.10.04.03? Why shouldn't we use that one?
I'm asking because I have problems with the accuracy of my GPS. Navigation in cities is almost impossible. No matter what software I use.
Thanks,
newpipe
Recommended radios for GB ROMs: 26.10.04.03 or 26.08.04.30
Hmm... Is this related to your News and Weather and Maps apps not showing the correct city? It kept showing UK for some reason...

Can you explain why that is the case? Aren't they taking the RILs of the vendor?

No, it's just the accuracy in navigation software. Weather apps are working fine.
I see... Time for me to make my own thread then!

Mmm no that would be the apps incorrectly determining your location somehow.
Flashing a radio won't help. But try if you will most usually do

Just flashed the new radio, did not solve my problem but it seem to work better than the 26.03.02.26 radio...
I flashed the RADIO 26.08.04.30 now. Seems to work better, but too early to be sure.
Thanks for the Help!

If I understood it correctly, there also is a difference between Sense or ASOP (Non-Sense) ROMs with regard to which Radio you use.
.30 is from the T-Mobile ROM and very ASOP like.
So your best bet would be .03 or the latest from Bell .12 for this particular ROM I guess..
And since it's a Sense based ROM, don't forget to match your RILs

Help with flashing CM9 or CM10

Okay, so as you may see I'm a new member. I just recently read up on the CM9 and CM10 thread. and i see that you have to flash a radio in order for it to work properly. So when i went to download the radio on this guide ---> http://www.teamchopsticks.org/p/cm10-install-guide.html it said that the file wasnt available. So can anyone please hand me the radio that was provided? Im using T-mobile by the way.. Also, can i just flash another radio like this one ----> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1842207 does it matter? Thanks in advance.

How do I backup my radio

Hello newbie here, I am thinking of trying new radio but how do I backup my current(incase other ones are not that good)
Thanks
Well, I'm sure your current radio is out there in a flashable zip. I have them all. I could give a link to one of your current radio for you to keep for safe keeping.

LoopDoGG79,
How many radios are out there right now? I've searched and I've searched but I've not found any "comprehensive list" of all radios that are out that are flashable.

supersain08, I don't believe you can back up any radio... I remember reading on a post somewhere. However, you can keep flashing a new one... so know what you have, or what you should have (ICS=UVLE1 and above) Whatever you do.. DON'T FLASH A GB RADIO ON AN ICS ROM

You've themed your JMT pretty well... what did you load on to get that nice WiFi logo?

GPS broken after trying Radio Update

A while ago I rooted my DesireHD and installed a custom rom.
After that my GPS didn't work anymore..
I tried a new custom Rom and tried updating 'Radio' with another Rom / Update.
Now, all my apps crash that use GPS, which is kind of a problem, since I use Google Maps & Navigator a lot..
Can anyone please tell me what a good DHD Rom / Radio is these days I should use, and how I can install these properly?
Thanks!

I know how to search this forum, thanks anyway... Problem is, there are threads with 20+ radio updates.. How would I know which one is best, and what is the proper order to install, the radio first, or android first..

Try either this
