I have done this many times.
Steps:
1) open root explorer, mount as r/w, go to data, system, and delete batterystats.bin
2) pull off you battery, don't shut it down, just pull it off.
3) insert back your battery, don't turn it on, and let it charge until it say 100%.
4) after 100%, don't pull your charger yet, turn your phone on. let it charge again until 100%, then pull your charger, now you will see your battery says "100%".
This doesn't work on all CM7 based roms, since the phone turns on immediatly after plugging in the power cable
Thank you for the tut, i'm gonna try it when i get back to school.
Does flashing with repartition reset the battery?
Isn't this supposed to be in yhe general section?

Sorry for the simple questions but did you pull the battery? Are you sure your battery is is not dead?
Do you have access to recovery?
If no flash a firmware with fastboot.

You should still be able to get into fastboot menu and recovery though through holding volume up and down and then the power button.....
Anyway, glad you back up again.
Was your phone hot? It's possible that safety throttle stuff shut down the phone and waited till it cooled off? I honestly don't know how the throttle craps works.

Hi, I'm running CM10 with Lean Kernel and It drained the **** out of my battery so out of no where I find my phone at 3% battery life eventually it died but now its not turning on. Any ideas where to go from here to fix the problem?
I'm not trolling you, I promise. Plug it into the charger for a while, then try to turn it on?
What have u tried? Did u try leaving it to charge a bit? Pull battery out for 10-15 seconds put it in and hold power button, does it do anything?

Well its been about 10 minutes now, but if the phone isn't showing any signs of charging I don't see the point to keep it plugged in.. And no I cannot enter CMW.
EDIT: download mode works
EDIT2: phone turned on when I plugged it into laptop, but somehow the battery charged up to 34% in less than 15 minutes.
Maybe ur charging block or usb? U using oem?

I kinda think its that kernel, it don't play nice with some phones, especially if you oc, I had the same setup as you and the same thing happened to me, only my phone froze making a weird siren type sound, requiring a battery pull, the phone was horribly hot to where I couldn't hold it. The thing wouldn't turn on, it would eventually turn on after hitting the back real hard and plugging it into the charger repeatedly until I felt it vibrate, I immediately returned it to stock, reset flash counter and took all my stuff off the storage. Low and be hold it froze and never turned back on after that so I got lucky, I had it replaced. Hopefully this isn't what happened to you. But ever since I got my replacement, I stopped downloading custom kernels because I notice absolutely no difference in day to day usage except the phone becoming extra hot even with light task and minor oc, and random reboots. The stock CM kernel is perfect, has awesome battery and the phone never gets higher than 101 degrees. If you're someone who bases their decisions on quadrants, by all means, flash these kernels, but my personalrrecommendation FOR THIS PHONE is to stick with stock kernel.
Side suggestion. Unplug the battery, plug it via USB until the phone is fully powered(lock screen) and plug in the battery. I stress this enough, Do Not Unplug It until it reaches 30%. It will take a while for it to reach 1%, maybe 1/2 to 1 hr
Didn't see last post.

All you have to do is let it charge for 10-15 minutes and then unplug, let it boot, and then plug it back in. Turning the phone on while its plugged doesn't work so well for some reason.

This is the correct answer.
hello, so my phone turned off after the battery finished normally but after that it was accidentally turned back on several times by the power button being pushed from my pocket. now it shows a red led when plugged in and after a while it turns on the off when it reaches the lock screen i dont know what to do please help
I am having trouble comprehending (sorry)
But what i understand is:
Your phone FINISHED charging and then it turned off (by itself? or did you do it?). While in off mode, it was turned on (but what u mean several times?)
And the red LED means low charge :/ and it reboots and turns off at the lock screen etc
Anyway:
I would recommend reflashing the firmware, only if you have enough battery to do so

thanks for the reply but no thats not what i mean. what i mean is my phones battary is 0% and when i put it to charge it charges for 2 min then turns back on but when it reaches the lockscreen it wont have enough battary so it automatically turns off and the process repeats
Yeah i had that problem too dont panic. If ur on a custom kernel, put the phone on charging, when led is red, phone off.Keep the phone in ur hands for 10 - 15 min. When kernel logo appears and led is pink press the volume up button.Flash other kernel in recovery.
There z no other method except this, even fastboot will not work
Press Thanks

This has happen to me kany times, this is what you do:
-First charge it when its off untill it boots
-Then do a hard power off (vol + until three vibrations)
-once its off plug in your charger and it will enter offline charging and just let it charge till about 20%
-Then you can turn it on

No its usually a kernel problem, as many others have had this problem before. What kernel and ROM/firmware are you using? Nova kernel has such a problem for offline charging.

Are you on stock ? If so then just do as stated above. If you are rooted, we might need more info.
I installed several roms full wipe and still same thing some roms worst then others but over all same thing
Tried using different scheduler/governor?
Also, are you doing anything specific when it locks up? Any app being used?

Fully discharge - charge
I should try to full charge the phone, then discharge it fully and then keep it for some hours without charging. When you reconnect and then fully re-charge the phone the inside-battery chip should reset. It works for laptop, maybe it works also for our GNexus.
If it doesn't work try to pull out the battery when completely empty for some hours and then put it in again and recharge.
Let us know if u've solved it!
Sorry for bad English.
