Hi, I'm running CM10 with Lean Kernel and It drained the **** out of my battery so out of no where I find my phone at 3% battery life eventually it died but now its not turning on. Any ideas where to go from here to fix the problem?
I'm not trolling you, I promise. Plug it into the charger for a while, then try to turn it on?
What have u tried? Did u try leaving it to charge a bit? Pull battery out for 10-15 seconds put it in and hold power button, does it do anything?

Did this, It turned on for a second, showed an empty battery logo with a loading bar in the middle then immediately shuts off.

Rooted, CM10, LeanKernel.
How long did you charge it for? Can u enter any of the loading methods ( cmw, download mode) ?

Well its been about 10 minutes now, but if the phone isn't showing any signs of charging I don't see the point to keep it plugged in.. And no I cannot enter CMW.
EDIT: download mode works
EDIT2: phone turned on when I plugged it into laptop, but somehow the battery charged up to 34% in less than 15 minutes.
Maybe ur charging block or usb? U using oem?

I kinda think its that kernel, it don't play nice with some phones, especially if you oc, I had the same setup as you and the same thing happened to me, only my phone froze making a weird siren type sound, requiring a battery pull, the phone was horribly hot to where I couldn't hold it. The thing wouldn't turn on, it would eventually turn on after hitting the back real hard and plugging it into the charger repeatedly until I felt it vibrate, I immediately returned it to stock, reset flash counter and took all my stuff off the storage. Low and be hold it froze and never turned back on after that so I got lucky, I had it replaced. Hopefully this isn't what happened to you. But ever since I got my replacement, I stopped downloading custom kernels because I notice absolutely no difference in day to day usage except the phone becoming extra hot even with light task and minor oc, and random reboots. The stock CM kernel is perfect, has awesome battery and the phone never gets higher than 101 degrees. If you're someone who bases their decisions on quadrants, by all means, flash these kernels, but my personalrrecommendation FOR THIS PHONE is to stick with stock kernel.
Side suggestion. Unplug the battery, plug it via USB until the phone is fully powered(lock screen) and plug in the battery. I stress this enough, Do Not Unplug It until it reaches 30%. It will take a while for it to reach 1%, maybe 1/2 to 1 hr
Didn't see last post.

All you have to do is let it charge for 10-15 minutes and then unplug, let it boot, and then plug it back in. Turning the phone on while its plugged doesn't work so well for some reason.

My friend got the battery and I have the battery. I've had it for months now. He has had a used one for two days and now his phone won't turn on, it will only turn on if you plug it in to give it a charged turn on, the charger can then be disconnected and normal use can he used for a little while and then the phone will cut out and not turn back on.
I wiped battery stats and the battery is fully charged

You can use osmonitor from the market to get info on the battery. It should show you the voltage, battery health, if the temp sensor is working etc. If it all looks good but the voltage starts to drop quickly soon as the phone is unplugged than you have a bad battery.
Once I unplug the battery seems fine, just out if the blue for instance 45 minutes later ill go into music change a song and bam phone dies

sounds like it may be loose, have you tried wedging paper or something behind it to hold it tight against the contacts?
No I haven't

Weird. Not sure if it is the rom or what but if I power off the phone, and it shuts down, than plug it into the charger while it is off, the phone powers up. Is this normal?
Also if I power-off from the menu while it is plugged in to the charger it just restarts.
I'm trying to do some tests on charging current draw with the phone powered off vs. powered on but can't because it keeps starting up.
Anyone else notice this or do I need to go back to stock?
I've always had that problem with my rooted HD2's but not the SGS2 with any of the three roms I've tried. My SGS2 when plugged in and shutting down has said from day one "downloading, please wait. Do Not Turn Off" which it never updates.
Sorry, you lost me a little there.
You CAN or CANNOT shut down, plug in the charger and have it STAY OFF?
You can't shutdown. It will just reboot. You have to unplug it first before shutting down. Happened on,my epic. Its fine.

So I can't charge it while it is powered off ? That's strange. Is this because of root or is that how it always works ?
Even if I shut it off first then plug it in it still restarts as soon as it is plugged in.

My phone chargeas while off with absolutely no issues whatsoever. That is very strange that yours boots up regardless.

Doesn't happen on stock ROM+kernel. Happens to me right now with the same config.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but this DOES happen on the stock kernel when you shut down the phone while its plugged into a USB port..... Solution is pull the battery and reboot and/or don't shutdown the phone when plugged into USB.

This is correct. A lot of people have the same issue including myself.
Ive only had to pull the battery once after a crash. I thought there was an issue with charging and power on but holding the power button down has always turned it on.

franco confirmed that it is not kernel related (cause the kernel isn't loaded in this state)
i also noticed that the battery is getting charged in this "dead battery icon"-state, maybe the phone can be booted after it is fully charged?
It was said before, that this was a problem with CWR (ClockWorkRecovery). IT's being looked at, I believe.

So earlier today I had an issue where when I would dial a number my phone wouldn't actually dial, it just sat there. So I restarted it and then realized it was very hot, so I opened setcpu and it's min was 1056 which it has been 384 so I changed it back and it immediately cooled off. But then my battery had drained 50% so I put it on the charger and now it won't charge. It has the charging symbol but it doesn't go up. So I rebooted into recovery and wiped cache, dalvik and fixed permissions and it's still doing it. I'm on li8 stock rooted.

How long have you left it charging? Leave it for a few minutes.
Try charging it with your phone off.
Can you mount your phone to your computer? If you can, this can eliminate a faulty port.
If it is showing the charging symbol it is charging.

Yeah normally that is true except this time. It's been on the charger for 15mins and has lost 1% battery while ON the charger. I use this charger every day too.

Uninstall setcpu? What processes are active? Try a different charger? Turn the phone completely off like someone mentioned.
I'd blame an app. They're not tested with leaks so it's silly to expect them to be perfect.

I've been running this for over a week with no issue and no new apps installed. Found out that "media" with the "downloads app" icon is running real high in system usage even after a fresh reboot its like 40-50% of usage.

You may need to reflash firmware
