[Q] (Question)Coredroid 6.7 boot loop - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, first post on this fantastic site so forgive my errors.I have a desire (Ace) hd and am running coredroid 6.6 with mdj kernel works fine i love the rom and have tried most of them but coredroid suits my needs.Anyway when flashing 6.7 i get a boot loop on the htc logo,i am running cwm 3.0.2.6 and have used the fullwipe.zip as i always try to do a clean install am flashing from cwm not rom manager (i dont think it`s on there yet) Have tried 4 times to install this rom but no luck, have run cyan, leedroid and miui in the past with no flash issues, last but not least could it be a bad download as i can usually sort this stuff out myself but am stumped on this one, cheers sorry for the long post.

It could be a bad download of the ROM.
Try checking the MD5 of the zip file u downloaded.

Md5 is B7C65800E29C9BD629C78FB7D105CC7A it installs as usual just bootloops, might try another download to check, thanks for your reply.

Duh, always the simple things, just a reminder folks if you rarely have a bad download it does`nt mean you wont have one, thanks Zulmacher for opening my weary eyes.

Phone stuck at ''HTC'' boot screen after flashing ROM?

Heya guys,
New on these forums but not new to flashing roms.
I followed the guides and flashed the Android Revolution HD ROM 2.1.
Everything went well and I just pressed reboot.
Now it has been like 10 minutes and im still stuck on the white background HTC (green letters) bootscreen. Is this always taking that long after flashing or should I try to remove and reinsert the battery?
Thanks in advance!
I think I read that some people may take 10+ minutes on the first boot, but usually it only takes me around 3-5 minutes.
But you sure it's not a bootloop?
Is your clockwork updated to 3.0.0.6? Take the battery out and try again.
I assume you flashed only the rom and no themes and also did a full wipe? If so adb logcat will help a lot in diagnosing your error.

Yes it was updated to 3.0.0.6.
I tried removing the battery, same thing so I flashed another rom.
Now works like a charm.

Yeah did a full wipe. I flashed the full rom package from ''Android Revolution HD 2.1'' so I don't know it had a theme or not. Afterwards I did another full wipe and flashed CoreDroid HD 3.1. This one works like a charm. It's super fast and it's also good looking!
Thanks for the help
Kernal
Donno if this topic is still relevent or not, but if you don't flash a kernal specific to the rom (sense) It won't boot.

Well Roms come with the kernels so that usually isn't the problem, and when you do use kernels that aren't intended you'd quickly be able to troubleshoot and the effects i imagine could differ. When I've use wrong kernals i've been able to boot but things just wouldn't work. i.e. on hardware buttons working, extreme sluggishness etc.

[Q] ARHD 5.2.2 Hang what am I doing wrong?

I've been running ARHD 5.1.7 and its been stable OK.
Been trying to upgrade to 5.2.2 but for some reason it either gets stuck at the boot screen or else manages to get pass then but then will hang the moment I try to do anything.
Followed instructions to use Super Wipe per the ARHD pg. And also tried to factory reset first before installing. Same result.
Can anyone help me please? Seems to work for everyone else.
Thank you.

Did u check the md5 sum and make sure ur download is good first? I assume that u r rooted correctly right? Make sure u r not trying to flash it through cwm. And make sure ur battery isn't low or keep it plugged in on charge only
U r not rebooting after super wipe r u? As soon as wipe is done it tells u to install Rom
Md5 checked when downloading the file. Matched.
Should be rooted correctly since i've been been upgrading the ARHD a few version till i got to 5.1.7.
I used recovery and selected installed the zip from SD card --that is correct? not flashing it thru cwm like u said i should not be doing right?
I have tried with reboot and not rebooting after super wipe. Same result.
Any other possiblity?
Thanks.

I would trash that download and download a new zip then try it again. Sounds like u r doing it right
hahaha if anything i'm persistent. I actually redownloaded. I tried with the 5.2.0 before and had the same issue so thought maybe i'd have better luck with the 5.2.2
It seems that i'm having trouble getting to 5.2.x
maybe just wait for 5.2.3 but it seems that i'm having problems getting to teh 5.2.x version
Thank you Jess086

now i'm lost. my knowledge doesn't go that far. I'm using CWM recovery i think. and to get to 5.1.7 had to do the ext4...i THINK.
would you so kind as to explain in more detail the steps u've described? How to flash back the old one?
Thanks so much.

Don't worry about the old one. Get the new ext4 recovery out of the dev. Section. Will be one of the top threads. Flash it. Then boot to recovery and go to where it says wipe and wipe the catch, dev catch, and the factory wipe u already did. Then flash the wipe download for ext4 when its done it will say u can now flash the arhd Rom so go to install fro SD card and fond Rom zip and flash it then reboot. U will be good hopefully. Keep me posted
Do you mean this one? Is it different from the Super Wipe from the ARHD pg?
ClockWorkMod 2 & 3 - ( Edify Script )
FULL_WIPE_1.5_EXT4_
This patch can be applied prior to flashing the ROM, please note, this zip will wipe your device and format all partitions to EXT4.
jess086. i finally got enought posts to post in the aRHD thread and the solution it to flash the 1ghz patch after flashing the ROM and that seems to have done the job.
Thank you.

[Q] I am unable to boot into any sense rom

Currently i have been sat here for about half an hour waiting for RunnyMede AIO V6.0.4.3 too boot, and im just sat looking at the boot animation
Ive Checked MD5 Sums on the file and they are correct
I have been running Sandvold ICS and Cyanogenmod 7 for the last year and felt moving back too sense and so far i cant boot into any sense rom for some reason
I am on Stock Hboot
1gb EXT4 Partition
I have done a full whipe and i also use 4EXT Recovery Touch
Any Idea's?
Probably a very basic Answer to this but i cant find it >.<
Just pull the battery then boot into recovery, do full wipe, dalivik ect.. and try again.
Sent from my HTC Desire
Ive done that so many times >.<
Lol happened to me before when i tryed runny rom, took like 8 goes just to download it then bout 4 times to try and install it, it just kept on freezing when booting up. Why not try runnymede aio 6.1.1 s/e. Its very good.

Hi, I had similar problem with installing slim ICS for Desire [based Sandvold]. After couple of tries I notice, that problem seem be in boot.img, recovery didn't flash boot.img. Manual flash boot.img from your ROM zip archive over fastboot may resolve your problem too.
Thanks, may give it a go but just flashed cm7.2 and fallen back in love with it so ill take the knowledge on board again

Don't worry that always happens , just wait until it boots . That thing gets there when you unlock the boot loader . If you are s off there is a guide on how to remove it but I wouldn't mind it too much.

R: [Q] [HTC ONE V]HELP| ROM's not working
Soff means security off, HTC put this security thing to make things harder for us. If it keeps rebooting you could have 2 problems:
1-wrong kernel
2-your radio is too high and you need to downgrade it
Just scanned all web for it but cant understand how should I downgrade my radio? Please help realy, becouse my phone now is not working, just that boot screen

For guys who hate Sense, y dn attempt Paranoid(PA) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1794562), u may tune ur One V btween tab, hybrid and phone layouts:highfive:

Which recovery are you using? And confirm your model (GSM/CDMA).
Btw, have you wiped data, cache and system before flashing a new rom?
Try out the marvellous rom and a different kernel

Bootloop can happen due to many reasons...wrong kernel, wrong gapps, rom is overclocked to name a few. Some roms are overclocked and this causes problems in some sets.
Try replacing the kernel files manually or flash a recommended kernel that is NOT overclocked.
I'm assuming you did the partitions as required(3 different partitions i think).
