Make sure you have debugging enabled. That happened to me once, and I realized USB debugging was disabled.

And I'm sure 'someone' has seen this before, but I haven't. Apparently after a "critical" windows update this morning, now my phone won't give me the Mount USB Storage option on my phone, and it's not showing as a drive letter like it usually does when I plug in my phone. I've got debugging checked, mock locations checked. I tried rolling back windows to undo whatever has been done, but that didn't work. I tried different ROM's (sense, AOSP both) and nothing. I even tried completely uninstalling reinstalling Android SDK using the dummy-proof windows .exe program. Nothing. I'm ready to "naomi campbell" my phone straight into someone's effing forehead.
I even tried toggling USB storage in recovery (which 99% always works) and it didn't help. Blargh.
Help.
P.S. I love you, your hair is pretty. Plz help.

Bill Gates strikes again... Critical Updates are nothing more than BS, usually...Lol. Try uninstalling the last update, reboot and see if that works. Chances are, something in THEIR update broke the USB card connection through windows. I'm sure they'll fix it in another "critical update" (which seems to be every few weeks lately)... If that doesn't work, I'm lost at that point... I do know if you do system recovery/restore point, usually the updates stay in the system...
Hope that helps!
I can't figure out why I have nothing show up in my computer when I plug my phone in via usb. I installed the drivers and Kies and it is showing up in the device manager as a Samsung Android ADB Interface. Has anyone else had this problem? Nothing shows up on my phone to put it in to MTP mode.
EDIT: after backup a factory wiped fixed it so I guess I will be making a Titanium backup and reinstalling everything that way.

I had this issue with my note4de.
I dialed ##366633# and found the 'Enable DM Mode' was checked. I picked 'Disable DM Mode' and the phone started working with MTP, etc.

Thanks for this! I also had this issue on my DE and this seems to have fixed it. Much appreciated.
I don't suppose you know other numbers to dial to get to hidden settings do you?
I created a thread on Mobile GO's forums but I probably have a better chance of getting help here.
I need to restore my phone with a backup I took with Wondershare MobileGO application on PC. However I keep getting prompted with the screen telling me to turn on USB debugging. I tried restarting my phone & PC, different USB splots, and toggling USB debugging on and off.
Any ideas?

I had this same problem: couldn't restore because MobileGo kept insisting USB debugging wasn't turned on. However, I found a fix. Instead of using the "Data Recovery" button on the home screen, I went to the "Super Toolkit" tab and selected the "Restore" button under "Essentials" and it worked like a charm!
I have a rooted Oneplus 3 with TWRP installed. My screen shattered and it is unusable. It's totally black and I do not think the touch is working, but I think the phone itself is working. Any suggestions?
If you have USB debugging enabled, you can connect it to PC and use "adb pull" command to get files from the phone.
Or simply browse its storage in PC's file explorer if MTP is enabled by default.

I thnk mtp is enabled by default in twrp. You can try getting your files from there

If you have debugging enabled, you can easily grab all your files either using adb pull, or booting to TWRP and using MTP (which is enabled by default), as others already suggested. However, if you have debugging enabled, you can go a step further, and use the Vysor chrome extension to mirror your screen onto your PC and take an entire backup of your phone, through an application like Titanium Backup.
Good luck!
Did you try to connect mouse through OTG cable?
Hi,
i have rooted my Pixel 3 XL without problems.
TWRP & MAgisk is installed.
Now i wanted to disable the new gestures as described here:
https://www.xda-developers.com/disable-android-pie-gestures-google-pixel-3/
unfortunately, the USB Debugging does not stay on.
Also titanium backup always complains about this.
When i enable USB Debugging, i see for a few seconds some "le Mobile android device", but disappeared immediately after.
USB drivers are installed.
Any idea?
Thanks
Btw: adb devices shows me my device in recovery when in TWRP. So cable seems to be ok. (anyway, i installed everything with this cable).

Assuming you have enabled USB debugging in Dev settings. You've somehow got the wrong drivers installed. Use a program called USBDeview To remove all the Google related drivers on your PC/Laptop and reinstall the Google USB drivers. There are tutorials out there for step by step, but for some reason your drivers are wrong.
I confirm, Dev options are enabled, so also USB debugging.
Unfortunately when i enable USB debugging (WITHOUT CABLE), go back, and enter again in the Dev options menu, the USB debugging is disabled again..
But nevertheless i reinstalled the drivers as you wrote -> same problem.
I think the problem is the Pixel, not windows, as everything went fine while rooting the device. (usb debugging was active).
Solved!
My fault, enabled by mistake in Cerberus App the "prevent USB Debugging" option!
Should work now
