Looking for WM6.5 ROM with Manilla/Sense 2.5 - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Some of you may have read my thread on the Blackstone forum : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=902656
For the last 5 months I have been loosing faith with HTC's WM Phones. It all started when I received a TP2 as an upgrade over my old Touch HD, to start it seemed great, then after a few weeks it gradually got slower and slower until i had to wait several seconds each time i tapped the screen!
So i changed the ROM to one of the Athine OS roms, this seemed ok, only a little buggy, but same again after a few weeks of use the phone just got slower and slower!
I decide to go back to Touch HD, first with one of Dutty's roms, after a few weeks random problem all files on device go corrupt, only hard reset will fix, tried another ROM from KWBR again i am happy for a few weeks until my contacts disappear and i am forced in to hard reset again!
This time i thought i would give the TP2 another chance to redeem itself. I really want the Leo style with the grid type arrangement on the favourites tab, facebook support & the Twitter tab.
Please can someone help me find a decent ROM and help me restore my faith in HTC phones? I am getting so fed up with the constant "you should get an Iphone" comments from my friends!

Well I have been using the EnergyROM for about a week after being a stock ROM guy for almost 2 years, and this is like a new phone. I also sped it up with WinMoSpeed, the thing is so darn fast, works well, and great eye candy I think I have a brand new phone!
It looks like you have been trying lots of ROMs. From what I have read, you may want to try flashing one after flashing with Task29, which clears out extraneous junk that could be left over from prior installations on your phone. From my experience with EnergyROM, if you read the directions very carefully, do exactly what it says, you will have a well-performing phone. I am super happy with my Tilt 2. Good luck!

I just upgraded to the 8525 what should I do first?

I upgraded from 8125 to the 8525 and would like to upgrade the rom to wm6. I would like extra memory. I'm staying with cingular/ATT and plan on just swapping my sim card. Do I have to unlock my phone? What do I need to do and which rom is the latest/best w/most free memory and still ATT friendly. Thanks. I've read through the post, but I'm a little overwhelmed.
Chris
You want a good rom that is AT&T friendly, I would say vp3gs rom hands down.
welcome to the 8525. start here...lot's of good info and reading. then let us know if U still have specific questions:

You knw ive seen alot of first post were people dont knw what they want they state basic things like whats the best rom, how do I upgrade, ect. I was really suprised to find that you knew what you wanted and look you got some good advice, Im glad to know that even though this community tends to flame noobs that if you ask your question correctly that you will get the information you request. Way to go.

Having been in your exact place just a few short weeks ago, i'll tell you my experience. The very first thing I did was upgrade to Hard SPL v7. From my reading, this is essential to keep from bricking your phone. Although it's not fool proof, but it makes it much harder to mess everything up. I looked around and read all the different threads on all the ROMs. From looking at the pictures and reading the info on each one, I decided on VP3G 3.60 as it's an official ATT rom with some extras. I also switched radios a couple of times to find the one that gave me the best reception for my area, which ended up being 1.50. I didn't unlock my phone unless updating to any of the above did that. There is a site that goes through each install window and tells you what to choose, but I can't seem to find it right now. I don't full understand all of this stuff but i'm slowly learning it. Good luck on your updates and hope it goes as smoothly as mine has.

Right now I'm running dutty's ultralite http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=329642 I started with Black, then went to some others and like VPG quite a bit, then tried TNT, then Cyphol's Gold, and finally I'm at the ultralite stage as I found that a lot of them just had stuff I didn't want/need and I preferred to take care of all of that myself (you'll determine that on your own though).
Definitely get HardSPL, and just play around with some of the main ROMs, the ultralites will have more memory by definition, but you may find that some are just too bare bones.
With regards to walkthrough's look at mrvanx's site, http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/ he has a ton of great walkthroughs that are ROM specific. Should get you started quite nicely.
Install HardSPL
Install vp3G's WM6 AT&T Rom
If you picked up retail less then 30 days ago, take it back and pick up a 8925/Tilt.

Thanks so much for the quick replies. My phone will be here on Tuesday, I ordered a refurbished. I will post an update w/shipped rom when it get's here. I waited for the Tilt to come out so they would clearance the 8525. I got my 8125 for $79 and now the 8525 for $99. Not bad I guess. Well I think I will try vp3gs first. I think if I try the Ultralight's, I have to unlock the memory area or something correct me if I'm wrong. W/Vp3gs rom, it should be like flashing a new rom from AT&T. But I will follow the directions to Hard-SPL first then to VP3Gs. Thanks again. Will post more on Wednesday.
Chris
Ok, followed all the directions in the forums. Everything went perfect. Very easy. I now have VP3Gs latest and upgraded the radio to 1.54.07. Everything works. I've added my old software. Found out that SPB Pocket Plus 4.0 brings the Hermes to a halt so I installed 3.2. I like the tabs on my today screen and the task switcher better than the HTC. Battery life seems a little less than the 8125. I think it's a little less than with 1.43 radio. I'm in central NJ and I didn't seem to notice a different between the two radios. My phone came with an old version of everything. I think the radio was 1.16 or something. Anyhow I will post more later. Thanks again everyone for the advice. Still shocked at how easy it was.
Chris
Before doing anything to your 8525; Research Research RESEARCH!
The last thing you want to do is put anything on your new phone right away. I know you want WM6 and probably can't wait to get it on your phone. First you need to research as much as possible until you feel comfortable, really comfortable with what you are planning to do.
I have vp3G's WM6 on my 8525. I waited and researched threads for over 2 weeks before commiting to it. So far so good I have to say. Read this guide first, it'll give you a good idea of what you will be doing. I'm not trying to tell you whats best here, I'm new to this too and just want to give you a heads up. Beware of people who tell you what they think is best for your phone, especially when they don't bother to tell you why.
Good luck, you're going to like your new 8525, although after sending back my original phone for a keyboard issue I went through 2 remanufactured 8525's before AT&T finally shipped me a brand new one. The screens on the reman'd ones kept locking up .

People on Orange - ROM upgrade ?

Having had my Diamond for 2 weeks now, its made my life a living hell. Slow, freezes, very fiddly and so many calls go missed because of the g** screen system.
Will there be an upgrade for Orange customers as the htc site doesnt let me do it ?
Im seriously considering giving it back, currently the iphone puts it to shame imo and thats barebones really !
if your are french use DiamondStone 1.1 :
http://www.planete-htc.com/index.php?mod=forum&ac=voir&cat=169&id=15903
Or Wait some days until I release the DiamondStone v2 (post will be also on HTC Planete)
I had an Orange diamond and I had the exact same problems you describe. Thankfully now they are all history. I flashed a different ROM onto the handset. I would recommend you do the same. BE WARNED THOUGH. This will probably cancel out any warranty on the handset. All problems have now gone and I have the handset the Diamond always promised to be........

See this thread and my reply on Post #16. I did it last night, TouchFlo and browsing is a LOT better.
I and several others have contacted Orange directly. They keep saying that Orange DO NOT supply updates as "they did not write the software". (Orange traditionally have a very bad record of NOT supporting their handsets with newer vendor updates)
Of course, to make matters worse, HTC will not provide an Orange specific ROM either so if you want the enhancements offered, you WILL need to update the ROM yourself. I've not tried the other custom ROMs offered here - I'm sure they offer a lot of other advantages, but I just wanted to get the "Offical ROM" update working
http://http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=419093&page=2
There is a LOT of info on this site but sometimes with all of the other posts, it can be a bit confusing to understand. Basically in order to update I found that:
1) You MUST first update the phone with the right HardSPL (as per all the Guides on here). This WILL invalidate your warranty, unless you are able re-update your phone back to the original SPL (and ROM if you got that far) - should you need to send the thing in for warranty repair...
2) Certain ROM updates, including "Offical HTC" ones require that you use a certain SPL. To update my Orange UK with the HTC Rom, I used HardSPL 1.93.. and I loaded it using the DiamondCustomRUU that comes packaged with HardSPL 1.37 (again this is available by looking at the correct threads here)
3) To even get this HardSPL working it DID hard reset my phone, Internal Storage was left intact but the "on phone" data/applications/contacts etc were completely wiped - so make sure you back up all contacts, and write down settings (again, read the guides on what to backup)
4) Once HardSPL 1.93 was on the phone you can now load the new "Official ROM" (check the SPL version by soft resetting and holding the DOWN VOLUME key until you get the Tri-colour screen showing which version it is - you can then soft reset to get the phone back)
5) IF you update to HardSPL, you do NOT need to CID-Unlock you phone - if you're unsure what this means, again read the guides for more detailed explanations
6) You can use the RUU that comes with the Official HTC Rom package to then update your phone.. again follow ALL instructions from the Guides
7) Do NOT get impatient at any time and uplug cables, close apps etc. you could risk bricking your phone.. just follow instructions
THIS DOES WORK - at least it did for me... my diamond is even faster than ever now
I have the information that since a few days Orange France ships Diamond with 1.93 ROM and 1.00.25.05 Radio.
I'm in touch with someone who have this new ROM and I'm helping him dumping it
I think I might have the dump within a few hours (I'll tell you ) and will test it on my own Orange Diamond
If Orange (France or UK) do release an updated "Offical ROM", then that would be cool.. but Orange UK were certain they WOULD NOT be doing this..
To be honest, the HTC "Official ROM" works just fine and it doesn't come with all the Orange branded rubbish either The only issue is that you must invalidate your warranty to enjoy the benefits..
jms_uk,
i dont get it your on a developers website but you want to keep your phone
on a stock rom.
why.
the cooked roms are so much better and as you say you have allready invalidated your warranty.
I have a once Orange Diamond, now its official HTC 1.93 with unlocked Sim.
I would love to try out a cooked ROM as you suggest, but there are just so many ones on this site its completely confusing, I would like to ask which one is best, but dare not due to either having my post deleted, moved or flamed.

I'll admit that I'm quite happy with the improvements the official updated ROM gives, but as THUDUK has said, I wouldn't know where to start on picking a custom ROM that offers further improvements - so much choice
I've already spent a while trying to seach and get more information on what the various ROMS do, but as a lot of people have said there is no "best" ROM because it depends on what you're looking for..
At the moment I like TF3D as an interface, and the speed of it with the official/stock update is improved.. what other cool things could I benefit from with a custom ROM? Any and all suggestions gratefully welcomed!
*EDIT*
I stopped being a total n00b and found some proper details on both Dutty's and Panosha's Shine-On... some really nice tweaks in there, I can see why a lot of people prefer these custom ROMs. As I'm new to the whole game, and my phone is already improved with just the new Stock ROM - I'll play it safe for now, but I'm a bit clearer about things! Now if only someone could fix that damned HTC music player
Hey,
First post here but i have been hanging around for some time and been flashing new rom's on my htc touch diamond since the second week of having it. I was kind of lucky getting my diamond from orange (actually through carphone warehouse) but it was completely unbranded short of a small orange logo sticker on the case. I assume this is because it was one of the very first editions, i had the same issues untill i flashed with a cooked rom from these forums and the speed improvments were outstanding in comparison to what i had. I would highly recommend upgrading the rom yourself, as it looks unlikely we'll ever see a decent from rom orange. but make sure you do follow the instructions carefully. on top of that from my understanding (and ill fully admit if i am wrong) but because flashing the rom's are completely software based, if you had to return the phone, then i understand it is possible to remove everything you have done to it and restore it to its original state, i think i have seen the original orange uk rom on the forums somewhere. as i said im sorry if that is incorrect but if u can remove everything then returning the phone wont be an issue. as for what rom? no idea, i have tested all the wwe roms and have found the one i like, dutty's 1.6 lite i think it is.
anyway sorry for the babble, tend to wonder in my head lol. hope its of use.
Fraser
I think Orange UK messed up and a LOT of their Touch Diamonds have very little specific customisation except for the Orange branded back cover and the locked CID.. yet all the packaging and manuals show screenshots with Orange customisations in them
No bad thing if you don't want your phone to have all that bloat...
There are some nice things in the different roms, G-Sensor calibration and all that but for me, even with the newer Stock Official HTC ROM, its certainly better than it was out of the box..
Its a shame Orange don't do something about that, the customer reputation would be vastly improved and the improved performance on the handset with a better ROM might even win a few new customers who have been put off with negative press about the phone's UI performance..
You only have to read an a review in an "ignorant" magazine like T3 (read by a LOT of people unfortunately) to see the misconception... I'm sure the Diamond would've rated better had their staff been given a phone with newer/better ROMs on it

Hey too right, the only one single yet hugely annoying problem with my Diamond is the blasted music player skipping, gets better if you turn off your phone, but why should we have to do that
alphazeros rom fixes the media player problem so they say.
standard rom with speed increases.
havn't tried it my self as i use swiftbl's rom but it looks ok.
LoL, I was talking about the cover art main view. Its annoying that it only shows songs from your now playing instead of allowing you to actually select whole albums by cover art from this view

A ROM that works...completely stable...I'm using it!

I loaded the November 9th, 2009 "23504" ROM from NRGZ28 a few days ago and for the first time I have had no trouble at all that wasn't easily worked around. It looks great, is fast and seems to be completely stable, and actually appears to be easy on the battery as well. I'm going to keep this one for a while.
I have tried pretty much every ROM released by various members of the community here and I like those from NRGZ28 the most. Setup is always easy and I am using ready to use the device in just a few minutes after flashing the ROM and connecting the the Exchange server. However, up until this ROM I experienced so many issues that I have spent hours trying, often unsuccessfully, to fix that I was getting tired of the Touch Pro 2. I am ording the BlackBerry 9700 for my personal line on Monday and I was about to order a second one to replace the Touch Pro 2 (and put it on Craigslist).
After loading this version I can now use the phone and expect it to work. No odd freezing, or having to reset to read email, avoiding scrolling in "titanium, none of that...it just works.
One thing that helps is that I no longer use HTC Sense...I think it is causing more problems than it is worth an it might help people to move on...it really is not even worth the trouble. It is now the first thing I disable. When using Windows Mobile without it, regardless of which ROM I am using, the device has ALWAYS been much more stable without it...and it doesn't even look that good :/
For those of you looking for a better ROM version that appears to work reliably...this may be the one. At least on the T-Mobile Touch Pro 2 it is the best I have used.

I disabled Touch Flo on my WM 6.1 Fuze after about 10 minutes. Disabled it on my Tilt 2 w/WM 6.5 after playing with it for about an hour. (Took me a while to get over that weather display -- pretty impressive!) I prefer to run WM plain vanilla. So how does the speed of this ROM compare to the stock 6.5 ROM with Touch-Flo (HTC Sense?) disabled? Is it worth while flashing it, aside from the fun of just tinkering around with the thing?

+1 Agreed regarding sense messing stuff up. I D/L'd NRG's fairly plain as in lacking manila(photon ROM) and it is very stable so far, no issues. Mobile shell works very well for a ui and is very stable also. I think manila,sense,tf3d all cause various issues. It's nice eyecandy and fun to use until the freezes and other issues just get to be to much. Happy with "photon" minus tf3d.
check my sig for the rom i use. most stable ones i ever used (and i flashed a lot ) ,even with sense ui on,cause i personally love the sense ui. been using these roms for a while now next to nrgz28's roms, wich are brilliant in their own way, but when it comes to stability the rhodium_af roms just simply rule! no bugs,no freezes,it just works. with nrg's roms i usually had to reset my tp2 at least once a day, with the roms i now use its only about once a week

I use it right now with the Windows Default Today Screen, "Titanium" I think everyone is calling it, and this is quite good for me. When I get a new text it shows in its own section of the today screen. Same for email and it is separated by email account. Phone and Voicemail keep it simple as well though I wish I could add a Tasks section and get rid of Internet Explorer. This is a great today screen layout and a few more themes for it would be even nicer.
I have seen another version of this with all kinds of complicated options called "Titanium Ultimate" and it is a pure mess. It is absolutely a mess. I got rid of the ROM it was on just because of that...it is the reason I went to this NRGZ28 ROM.
htckaiseruser, I also used that ROM and switched...I guess that's why it is nice to have so many people making them. We all have our preferences.
I really do hope no one takes offense to my statements here. Some of us like a little eye candy but want a stable, working, easy to use device with great battery life. HTC Sense just doesn't make sense since it just has too many problems and really just gets in the way. I like Windows Mobile because I like the way the Calendar works...yet they change that. I like the way contacts are displayed, but they change that too. I like my text messages to arrive and for me to be able to reply but HTC prevents that from working. I like to get push email and lock my phone for security, yet if I am using "Sense" and lock the phone, no email comes in at all. They tried to do too much.

Thanks, and I hope no one does either.
And, thanks also to all the xda "chefs" and all the other tweakers here who've done so much for me, at least, to make my HTCs more usable and more fun, and to make this such a great place to visit, again and again.
I can't find a better ROM than NRG's. i was using his "EnergyROM_23071_RHODIUM_18.Oct.2009_Standard" since i first got the phone and was completely satisfied with it. battery usage was very light and i was able to charge it throuhg usb while at work (i have a desk job) and there was almost nothing i had to do to make it work on install. just the normal keyboard fix.
WM6.5 21876! WM65 21876! WM65 21876! Seriously, I have went weeks without resetting my phone. I have forgot how nice it is to have a hot GPS lock after a few days of not using it.
Have tested a lot of ROM´s almost every 3rd day reflashing
And find that energy´s photon 6.5.1 is the best for me
In the past I flashed hermes, kaizer etc many times, and found that custom ROMs actually improved performance. When I bought a fuze, as I immediately started flashing ROMs or simply upgraded manila my device became slow and not function as well. So went back to stock, removed all the ATT bloat-ware. When you started hearing about the awsome fuze ROMs from RRE, DA_G, etc which were real WM6.5, and were made for fuze specifically, now I could flash and keep my phone functional, but never as good as stock with WM6.1. Now I have a tilt2 with most ATT junk deleted, I find it to be extremely responsive and works well with manila or without it. For me, flashing a rom may be best utilized as a hobby/fun on these devices until a build is perfected. If you start flashing early you should keep that in mind and expect a lot of issues. Like the poster mentioned the sense UI causing problems, remember these apps were not designed for this phone, guys customize them to fit but it is never a perfect fit, that is why IMHO, you get problems. It seems that stock ROMs are a lot better now. Likely this happened, because phone companies have become aware of the excellent ROM builders on XDA and have gotten their act together, knowing that if they do not produce a quality product, folks here will. This phenomena is a testament to all the ROM builders on this site. Eventually the liklhood is that ROM builders here will build the perfect ROM for Rhodium, which will be better than stock. Till they have one for tilt2, I will only flash my fuze in order to keep Tilt2 functioning well for work.
hmm,..im gonna have to try it out,..The currently use has been great for the past couple days. I didnt notice problems til today in texting. When having "textversations", the phone keeps freezing. Its pretty frustrating.
i have been using Josh's perfect black and it hasn't freezed up yet and the battery life is great.

I tried the nrg rom and it was GREAT on the tilt2 UNTIL i realize i could not get the hardware keyboard working even close to what its supposed to be. THEN my onscreen keyboard decided to stick on the phone pad so i coulnt type much of anything anymore without issues! Save yourself now, if you were even thinking about it.
BTW, i am back on the stock rom and staying away from mobile shell and giving minila its fair share for the first time. Im looking for easy things to make it better. If you have any tips, please PM me with them, thanks

I concur!!! I have always been using NRG's energy ROMs, back during my Fuze days. But ever since I switched to Ark's AF ROM, I have not looked back since. I have flashed Fusion ROM, Miri V7, ROMeOS ROM, etc but I always went back to energy. But Ark's AF ROM totally blew me away in its stability and simplicity. It does not have a lot of frills or eye-candy, but it is very stable, very usable. You guys should try it. I am flashing VX1 as I type this. Hahaha

Frustrated with my HTC Tilt 2

When I finally decided to upgrade my HTC Tilt to the new Tilt 2, never tought all the problems that this will bring.
The first unit was purchased on 2.14.10 at ATT local store. Two weeks later I decided to change the unit because of the many problems encounter.
It's been now two more weeks and this new phone is worst than the first one. I have to do a soft reset at least two times a day. Taskmanager is often gone from my Today screen or any other application.
I have installed a couple of software found around here, but decided to installed all of them to check if the were the problem. They were not.
Yesterday, I finally decided to do a hard reset and start from scratch without any installed software, other that the bloatware included from att.
The problems persist. The phone keeps stalling/freezing over any application. The emails are not being pulled from gmail, hotmail or yahoo (I have 6 configured emails).
What do you guys recommend for this. Doing another hard reset right now it's no easy task since I have to reconfigure all emails, lose SMS, etc.
I was very anxious to get my hands on this phone but it's been a nightmare from day one. My first Tilt was more stable by far.
Thanks for any suggestions, I just have to get this out of me.
It could be any number of things causing your problems.
I myself was very disappointed with my Rhodium when I got it. Was slow, glitchy.
After alot of reading and researching, I found it was most likely due to memory leakage. And that most devices come with a modified/branded ROM from the service provider.
I found that flashing a stock HTC/cooked ROM solved most of the issues. And using an app called 'cleanRAM' freed up alot of memory.
If you dont mind losing your warranty, then I suggest flashing a newer/better ROM. And using cleanRAM to free up any leaked memory instead of a soft reset each time
First things first, install SSK dynamic proxy CAB, Nopushinternet CAB, and AT&T tilt2 speed fix.
My first month of owning TP2 I felt very similar, having to reset every couple days. Now my phone only gets reset when I remove the battery or run out of battery (its been on for about 2 weeks now). CleanRAM is a great utility, but I suggest purchasing SSK Tools for its other great programs (autoclean, registry editor, task manager, program manager...basically this thing is great for tweaking your phone.
I would suggest reading around on the forums, looking at all the stickies, and searching for other users who have the same issues as you. This phone is a great phone, but like you have come to realize, it really needs to be tweaked for its full potential to be released.
Thanks for the suggestions!
ATT just confirm that my phone qualify for a replacement. Mine have a small square white sticker in the battery compartment. This seems to be the key of identify units with problems. I got the feeling that the next new unit is going to suffer the same problems.
I'm willing to work it out and tweak my tilt 2.
Only for a minute I consider to go for the BB bold 9700 but it's not even close.
Definately this forum was key when deciding to upgrade to my tilt 2.
Keep up the good work!

All phones have the white sticker. It is how AT&T makes sure your phone has not been water damaged. It turns pink when exposed to water. You most likely aren't experiencing an issue that is specific to your phone.
All Tilt2s are horribly slow and people here just don't want to admit it. It is using the SAME processor as your original tilt, just only clocked at 528MHz instead of 400MHz but it has to drive a much higher resolution screen. Also, either WM6.5 or HTCs implementation of it on the Tilt2 is crap. It wastes memory like no other. I haven't used other WM6.5 phones so I don't know which it is.
I really like my Tilt2's appearance and absolutely love its keyboard but I hate the hardware in it. The crappyness of the OS (either due to 6.5 itself or HTCs implementation) does not help either.
I actually just found a REALLY good deal on a Telus Motorola Milestone on eBay, just $475 after Bing Cashback! I ordered it and can't wait to get it! It has a worse keyboard but its processor is a bit better and Android has surpassed WM.

That Motorola looks good!
Well, after your recomendations and some extra browsing around here, I decided to hard reset my Tilt 2 again and start from scratch. I have installed all the recommend software and only have one freeze up today while updating the Stocks.
Ram usage is at 55-60% most of the times.
I have also decided not to exchange my phone again, ATT was offering a refurbished unit and mine is new.
I'll stick with for now with the Win 6.5 Rom, maybe there's an update or patch coming up.
I have develop extra patience since using my Acer Aspire One with Intel Atom processor, this thing also get really slow at times...

Tilt 2

I stumbled on to this site looking at phones on ebay. Great find. I see that some of the threads indicate that some end users have been able to replace the ROM and OS on there Tilt 2 WINMO phones with Android and other fixes to make this incredibly slow freezing phone a respectable Smart Phone. I have been a WINMO user for over eight years and have never owned a bigger slower piece since my original brick phone. Have had it replaced twice and now am going to switch to the new Android offering from At&t. But if I can make this better phone I am all about it. I know I sound like a total rook but some help would be appreciated.

sure you can replace WM with Android, but remember its not a fully operational OS because its a port, so i hope you can live with no sound, bluetooth and no camera....battery could be an issue but with the latest builds its been a HUGE improvement ever since the project started, and also to have a MicroSD card in hand to make Android work, but keep in mind the speeds are not going to be like Windows Mobile since it runs off of a MicroSD, but if you really up for it and you want to speed up your Tilt 2 if youre on WM, i recommend flashing a ROM just be sure to HARDSPL before you do

Cool so Android is out on the Tilt. I noticed what you have done with your tilt 2. Even though I am Computer savy I would like to do something somewhat easy for the first time out. Thanks for the help I will check out the info you gave me and hopefully get it done right.
I keep reading posts about what a POS the Tilt 2/TP2 is and I'm baffled because mine just doesn't seem to fit that description. Mind you, it's no speed demon, but it does all I ask of it with ease. And I've yet to have it freeze up requiring a physical reset. I hard reset it once, but that was because I installed some stuff that wasn't designed for it. I've modded the heck out of mine and gotten the eye candy (of which there's a ton to choose from) where I like it. Yesterday, I impressed some friends when I quickly got some restaurant info from Bing on my phone and then did a quick Skyfire search on some rock band to settle a bet. This is not my first WinMo device, but it certainly is the best so far.
brother I wish mine was all that. I got my first htc tilt2 in Jan this year. Did alot of research and did not find a whole lot to worry about. Got the phone and was happy for about the first month was up. The internet is slow, constantly freezes, when switching to keyboard the darn thing goes three ways from sunday and locks up. I have actually seen static like on my tv. So I went to the local At&T device support center and the dough head told me its windows you will have to learn to deal with it being a hunk of junk. On my second one signal sucks still slow as hell and locks up all the time. Have had to reset (hard) numerous times. Not gona get rid of them, however gona check out some of the mods and see how it goes. The HTC is also not my first WINMO originally started with the orginal Black Jack and dont look forward to the droid conversion. But Will check it out and Hopefully mod this one out with this site.
