Do not know where i can change the behaviour when USB is plugged in. There is just "activate/deactivate usb memory. Unfortunately i need "just charging".
I am using CM6.1.3 Stable Release /Build FRG83D/2.6.32.27er Kernel/Android2.2.1/Baseband 12.28b.60.140eP_26.03.02.26_M
Does anybody know something? Hopefully...

they are the only two options on cm 6.1, when you plug usb in, its just charging, then you have option to turn on mass storage how is this a problem for you?

O.k. Did not know. Last time when i saw the selection i had stock/sense installed. Reading your words the problem was solved. I allways thought that i checked some standard and can not find it know. Under stock/sense there was some "only charging" mode. But now i know.
Thanks a lot
yours A.

Hi All,
Previously was working fine all along, think yesterday onwards, the phone does not charge when i connect it to my pc/laptop. The activesync does work fine though... It charges ok when i connect it to my mcakal usb charger though.... i dont think its a cable thingy since i can activesync fine..
- have tried to reinstall activesync as well, doesnt help
- Have tried to softreset phone too
- Have tried to uncheck/re-check the "charge when connected to pc" in the settings > power > option already...
Anyone can help???
Have you checked the setting under power options?
If so, and it is set to allow charging when connected to a PC, try a different cabl...
its working now... i checked it, softreset and unchecked it, softreset... now ok again.. lol
btw...the default should be off(unchecked) right??

When is unchecked, its going to charge when is connected on pc - That says If the device is on, during connect into pc DONT charge its battery.
Hi,
over the last couple of days when I connect to pc and get the usual pop up asking what sort of connection I want and I select 'Charge Only', it doesn't seem to only charge as I cannot play my music as it says the sd card is not accessible!
Anyone else had this problem? Maybe it's a particular app, or maybe it's the latest update?
Cheers for any ideas/comments.
Rich
Try pressing Menu > Settings > Connect To PC, and check that the Ask Me option is selected.
Also check that you have USB Debugging enabled in Settings.

Thanks for the quick response, but unfortunately neither helped
Do you have the recent update to your phone?
I have found the problem, it is the music app Doubletwist! I guess it is trying too hard to be fully synced up!
Word of advice - don't install doubletwist.

Thanks for the info. Was having the same problem and had installed doubletwist recently. Anyway, I found that this "feature" can be turned off. Its a setting called "Auto USB drive" and is the only setting in doubletwist.
So when i get an incoming call, my phone rings silently then jumps to the volume i set it at without touching the phone at all or anything as if there was a quiet ring option that i believe was on the E3D for anyone familiar with the E3D. anyway, i've scavenged the sys settings and i havent found anything and it bugs me to hell.
Second issue: although my usb connection works perfectly (it detects and transfers fine) when i scroll to settings > wifi connections > usb utilities and hit the button, it says "remove usb cord" while theres one connected and when i take it out it says "connect a usb cord". while i was running AEMod with the standard USB mass storage mounting (hit the green android and it turns orange when connected), it worked flawlessly. I prefer the old USB mounting > MTP.
I guess I am being a bit nit picky, but i havent heard of anyone having this issue. Any ideas? I'm thinking they could both be software issues that can be fixed by flashing a rom, but i could always exchange for another one...
The phone is setup to automatically escalate ring. I don't know why sammy did it that way but they did. I have no idea what your talking about with respect to the USB issue.

oh, that sucks...
okay so you know how in settings > wireless and network you have USB utilities? Whenever i try to start USB mass storage it will ask me to connect a cord (obviously) when i hit "connect storage to PC", so i connect the cord and hit the button again. This time it tells me "USB is connected. Remove the cable". so it never progresses.
thanks for replying btw
Hi,
is it possible to disable the MTP connections automatically established when pluging the Nexus in?
I wouldn't want a public computer I might connect my Nexus to for charging to be able to read my storage.
I know I can switch it to camera, but that's just a workaround. With "normal" Android devices (with an sd-card), you always need to hit "enable usb mass storage", it would be nice if there were some option like that in the Nexus.

Thanks!
How does that affect the MTP, though? Still possible? How about adb or any other kind of connectivity?

Was your phone work issued and has some admin restrictions placed on it?
No, nothing. It is New.
The issue is likely the floating bar. Turn it off while setting this up and you'll be fine.

Hey buddy.
Had the same issue with ADB. Go to settings>Network>Tethering>USB tethering. It always goes back to off for some reason.
That along with USB debugging in developer settings should resolve your issue.
Hope this helps
Cheers
I had same issue but I had to disable Swifty Switch overlay app I've used for pie controls to get mine to work..

I'm just posting here, because of Google search result listing...
Maybe this doesn't work in your case but a possible solution/workaround is to connect the phone as "MIDI device" - it will then allow remote debugging.
Thank you!
