[Q] Can xda game be played on Android (galaxy s) - Galaxy S I9000 Themes and Apps

Hi all.
I'm new to both the Android OS, having been a happy solitary XDA Pocket PC user until last week, and also to posting so I hope this query is in the correct area. Please excuse and move if I'm wrong.
So my first query is this: does any one know if the best ever and most addictive game on Pocket PC ever, NEOTILES by SHEALD, is available to play on the Samsung Galaxy S. I have played this game since it first arrived on my XDA II and I am missing the calming effect it has had on me ever since.
So to my second and third questions: if it's not available to play on Galaxy S can anyone recode it from Pocket PC code to an Android compatible code please, or if you happen to know the author Mr Stephan Heald, can you ask him to recode it and post it on Android Market as soon as possible before I murder someone from stress lol.
I sincerely believe from comments I have read on the net that the fans of neotiles love this game and would happily pay for a new version of it for the many new Android smart phones.

Serious question by dim user

I have recently purchased an o2 XDA 11 for a few pennies to have a play and see if i can use it within a small taxi firm.
The problem I have is that the software will only run on windows mobile 5 or newer, anyone know, can I upgrade from 4.2? and if so how?
I am totally new to the world of xda's and utterly clueless so far, but willing to learn and try anything.

Yo Dawgz :D I came from winmo 6.1 pro so help me

How do u do guys?
I used to be a Samsung i900 "Omnia" user for more than 3 years.
I just purchased a Galaxy Nexus from Expansys USA.
Now I feel totally lost cause Android esp. ICS does not have a start menu!
I need to learn how to use this thing some how and as fast as possible thru books or tutorials or videos or guides here on the forum.
Also I need the KOOLEST apps ever on android market. cause I wanna piss off my iPhone4 friends.
I wanna become the hippiest Galaxy Nexus user of the planet! ;D
thanx for all the help.
Goodbye Omnia but rest assured that your love is still in my heart.
Thats a pretty amazing upgrade, from WinMo 6.1 to the best Android phone running the latest and greatest Android version!
Start installing some apps from the market, check out the top apps on the several sections.
Add your social networks accounts to the phone and add some widgets to your home screens. From personal experience, Android users are always testing new layouts and widgets
Try a few games and witness the power of the Nexus!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1371918 is a user-made thread of people's opinions on what apps are "must needed."
Android is pretty simple to use, may take a few days to get used to it. But with ICS, its definitely more user friendly.
that's pretty impressive. i remember when i switched from the imagio over to a fascinate, but switching from an omnia to the g nexus? huge! there are plenty of apps lists out there. just remember to check the permissions before you install anything... if you see a game that has the ability to make phone calls... might want to do some research.
I'm coming from an Omnia II (Verizon SCH-i920) so we're about in the same boat. I've had to assist my wife with her D2G so I picked up Android pretty quick. I was hooked, went out and bought a Xoom, now have a VZW Galaxy Nexus. Lovin' it so far!
Android is not that easy to use, especially coming from another os, or if you've never used it before. There is a getting started guide that comes with the nexus, but I'm the type of guy that tinkers with every button until I figure things out

First off, "Yo Dawgz" went out around the same time WinPho 6.1 became obsolete.
I would start off with trying out free featured apps from the market. There are tons of cool stuff you can get for free. Too bad you just missed the 0.10 app specials.
Finally, ROOT AND FLASH!
Congratulations on purchasing intelligently.
Market download #1, angry birds so you can catch up to the last 2 years of smartphone gaming in one fell swoop.

I think we have to wait for Gameloft to update the games for tegra 3
I had emailed them before and their response was rather disappointing. Why other games which was initially offered in low resolution 480x800 like NFS shift is ok with one x and theirs cannot, really pissed off by their marketing tactics here.
See below their response.
Dear Customer,
Thanks for contacting Gameloft's Customer Care.
I apologize for the trouble and difficulties you have encountered with the game you have purchased.
Unfortunately, your Android device is not supported. (HTC ONE X)
Our development team is constantly working to bring new games to all platforms. We do not currently have any specific information to share about release of games for your device.
Please do not try to download a game which is not for your specific phone model. Each game is built for one particular device. If your phone is not listed, it's no use trying to get another game build. It will not work and it is not meant to work.
Gameloft assumes no liability for purchaser error, trial versions, software purchased for the wrong telephone, device or platform for any reason ("Purchaser Errors").
You accept full responsibility for confirming that the phone or other device manufacturer, phone or other device model, and carrier are supported and that the phone or other device is compatible to the products or services purchased, downloaded or otherwise obtained by you through the Site.
We accept NO RETURNS on software downloads. Please read the system requirements very carefully before making any purchases.
Please accept our apologies for causing you any inconveniences.
Best wishes
*Of course it's only frustrating for people who bought the app last time. And to see some games working nicely with low res and high res adds more disappointments towards them(gameloft). Scaling is not bad, doesn't have to be with the native res of one x.

Wow what an awful reply from a developer. I suppose at least you got a reply unlike the author of jenga.
We live and learn, I also own that game, but now I won't purchase any more gameloft games if they are going to treat paying customers this way, they could have said sorry we will take a look etc, not go on about their refund policy and our responsibility to check.
Very poor form from them and a customer lost here now

No it's not a stupid question. But you did create yet another thread on Asphalt 6 when there's 1-2 others already.

Sorry about that ,didn't saw them.
Yeah i've tryed all day to make the Asphalt 6 run on my friends HOX because he had it bought on another phone and he tryed to put it in his actual HOX,but..no luck. There are many games that don't work on HOX because of the Tegra 3,let's hope the developers will update them.
As for NFS:Shift...i hate it,i don't like anything about that game, honestly,i think that it's the worst possible racing game out there.

Meet and greet sticky

I created this thread as a way for everyone to get to know each other by name. We're a tight knit group of users in here, and I thought it would be appropriate for us to know each other by name. In the recent weeks, I've noticed an increase in bickering. Experience has taught me that when people know each other on a name to name basis, it creates a more personal atmosphere, where people are less likely to show disrespect to one another.
As your Moderator, my goal in the forums is to create a peaceful atmosphere, where people aren't at each other's throats. It takes away from the true purpose of XDA, and also pushes people away. Let's all work together to improve the overall atmosphere of these forums. After all, we're all here for the same reason; a passion for development, cell phones, and sharing thoughts and ideas.

My name is Tyler. I'm an android vet when it comes to applying mods and roms and whatnot, but when it comes to the guts of the stuff, I'm no good. I tried compiling a build of ICS for my nook color, but even that was beyond me. This is my fifth android device. After a Moto Milestone and Droid 3, this is my first phone with an actual unlocked bootloader that I didn't have to jump through hoops to root (never buying moto again). So that's been nice. I look forward to working with you folks.
Hey guys! My name is Andrew
First Android device here in the Captivate Glide I am learning how to do the little things in Dev and hopefully in time will just continue learning ...
My name's Rohit. The captivate glide is my second android device, behind Desire HD (still have it). I owned an iPod which I messed around with, going to the roots and such. Moving to android gave me more control over the phone than I had with the iPod. I know a little about editing widgets for android as well as figuring out problems which occurs.
the name is Gabriel. Been an Android user since 2010, most of my devices are Samsung so I am comfortable flashing ROMs/Kernels for these devices. I also used Sony Ericsson and HTC devices. My device history below:
Captivate I896 & I897
HTC Desire
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc
Samsung Infuse 4G I997R
Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE I727R
Samsung Galaxy S Glide I927R
I always stick on stock ROMs. But since I've been tied through developers' work, I have dedicated time to test their ROMs/kernels, use them until I know it is capable of being a daily driver, then go back to stock....

List of Devices:
T-Mobile G1 - SOLD
HTC Merge - SOLD
Galaxy S Glide (Rogers version of the Captivate Glide)

I went from my, like 4 years old, HTC Dream to the Glide(which was so hard to root in comparison to the Glide). Also I like how I'm not the only one who owned a HTC Dream before <3
Hope to see some nice ROMs in the future
Hello from Fabrizio,
Rome - Italy.
Captivate Glide is my first android ever and i'm totally in love with it.
Mike from Toronto, Canada.
Had a Xperia x10 that went from 1.6 to 2.3, and got the Glide after. I still have a want for a physical qwerty. Glide is rooted and running custom OSI Mood ROM from Carpe.
I run a QA dept for a mobile app company and I have a lot of devices at my work (Nexus, Note, HTC's, Xperia's, etc..) and I still like my Glide over all of them.
I don't post much, but read a lot. I find people tend to post too much about nothing.
I also have an Asus Prime.
Looking forward to having ICS come out!

This is my first Android Device. I'm enamored with the flexibility of both the OS and the hardware.
Previous devices of any importance were a WinMo 6.5 LG eXpo and before that a feature phone LG Vu, over the course of the past 7 years. This community is important to me from both a support and a customizing aspect. Thanks!
Hi, I'm Austin... From Fredericktown Mo USA
This is MY second android device (not counting the two of my parents)
I had,
Iphone 3g (horrible)
HTC aria (awesome little thing)
Traded that for iphone 3gs
Traded that for my glide
I also have a Samsung Captivate and Moto Atrix 4g in my family...
I try not to post too much, but if there's a question that I have, or someone has a question that I have the answer to, I'm not shy.

Hi All. My Name Is John and I live in Montreal Canada.
I used to have a Samsung Omnia running Windows 6.1 Phone and before that an Axim X51V. Got Tired of crappy touch screens so I told myself I needed a Physical Keyboard so Hello Glide!
I also work in QA for a Computer company Though I deal in the Microsoft Certification of our drivers.
I installed a Rom on my X51V from XDA many years ago and now with my Glide. I like learning how things work and would like to get into making some Roms as I do have some programming skills but I have never done anything like this. I downloaded the Development kit but I am not sure how to use It I am used to Windows Visual Studio for Work.
Hey there
Hello everyone, the name's Alexander.
The Glide is my first real android device. I previously used hand-me-downs, most notably an HTC Kaiser. Before that an HTC Wizard. On the Wizard I used custom ROMs from XDA, and on the Kaiser I was able to run Android thanks to the great work of the developers here!
I have a background in communication & multimedia design, and have been a bit of a whiz-kid for as long as I can remember. I don't know anything solid about the nuts and bolts of Android specifically, and consider myself much more a tinkerer and designer rather than any kind of developer. So all I can offer are tips and suggestions on making the user experience better through theming, widgets, and so on. On the technical side I can hold my own, but generally with Android consider what I say as "good guesses" unless otherwise stated!
I can, however, really understand the excitement AND frustration that go along with any development-process. In part due to my own experience, but also second-hand as many of my friends are computer engineers.
I hope to be of some help to the lovely folks here at XDA!
Hi, Salaam, my name is Muzammil, living in Ajman, United Arab Emirates.
Samsung Captivate Glide is my first Android device, also bought the Galaxy S II, but that's mom's phone.
Have pretty much single handedly maintained this phone's Wikipedia article, with photos and text. If anyone wants to make it better, please contribute

I don't have the phone of yet but hope to get it really soon.
I'm using my Nokia N97 and want to change real bad
Hello, This is Vinay, from Bangalore - India.
Captivate Glide is my first Android Phone and very happy with the device from past 6 months.
I am basically an Mechanical Engineer. I am not into programming and writing codes.
Am ready to try and feedback on the Mods/kernels/Roms that the Developers are ready to offer to the XDA Community.
I can understand the work, time and patience that the ppl put across in any development process. Appreciate the work guys!!
Heavily try different App's widgets available in the market.
I can support in general usage issues and suggestions.
Always happy to learn and share.
Hey guys, Paul from London here.
Had my AT&T branded Captivate Glide for a few weeks now. Really like it lots, although I'm itching for some ICS action, but have so far managed to hold out from rooting and flashing it just yet due to the possible official upgrade
Its my third Android device my last being a Motorola Milestone that I had overclocked and flashed a few ROMs on. Ended up running CM7 in the end which I was pleased with, although the battery life left me wanting.
Backflip anyone?
Harry from NJ here. Upgraded to Cappy Glide from the Motorola Backflip running CM7. The Backflip had a great keyboard but was was slow and old (like me!).
Anyone else had a Backflip?

asphalt 7 money cheat for non-rooted S3

I am stuck at cup 12 of asphalt 7 version 1.0.1 with no money on bank. I do not know if I have bought the most expensive vehicle or accessories to win every race but currently I can not proceed any further. :crying: I have tried playing some quick races to gather some quick cash but that is not enough to buy more and more from shop. I have searched xda forum if any cheat available for non-rooted galaxy s3 but my bad luck I haven't found anything yet. I have not rooted my device as it seems very complicated to me.
I am not looking for saved game data where every race has been completed to unlocked all, I just want to add up extra cash quickly. If anyone can help me with a cheat for extra money. Thanks

I'm afraid it's somewhat illegal to cheat in such games as you'd be 'depriving the developer of potential earnings'. Nonetheless, there's a well approved thread in the general apps section on xda talking about an app called gameguardian which you could try. But that requires root.
