it may only be AVAILABLE on the iphone currently...
but there is nothing the game does making it not POSSIBLE on the HD.
we just need some clever devs to start making decent windows 3d & g-sensor based games.
The only way I can think about, is to programm all fast applications in java.
But I cant do that myself. And microsoft is not innovative enough at the moment. Also missing is the multitouch function. Cant be so heavy Bill
Show us the future as soon as possible or you will loose a lot customers
too bad then. it was so nice to be played on windows mobile that game.

Dunno if they ever will, I have considered writing games but my work will just get cracked and distributed, just look around at all the request for free games, serials, cracks. Why would I put my time into it? I have to feed a family with the time I got, I imagine other devs too.
how much can cost that game? I supose that few euros, and if you collect from each user, you can make few ones.

The thing is, some applications for the Iphone are only 0.50 $ up to 1.99$
at the moment it sounds not really much, but I would rather give up to 2 $ instead of spending hours looking for cracked warez software. And you would have millions of customers instead of just 1000 and than it is cracked
Nothing stopping any dev's taking donations for their hard work. Also, I know of one person who takes money for Security unlocking devices, though does offer it for free to people who have already donated to XDA or have added value to the site.
In theory this game could work for the HD, but would require a good bit of time to develop it. Maybe too much time for one person to set aside.

I'm just pointing out what feels like the elephant in the room here. Excuse me if I'm out of line.
I bought a Play coming from the HTC Eris (CDMA Hero), and the Eris is an amazing phone. I still lurk on the forums (and really sad it got shuffled, but out with the old, in with the new.) The community there really extended its life far beyond what Verizon gave it (it officially died with 2.1, but right now mine is running CM7 2.3.7.) Overall it was a great community to get introduced to Android with, and I'm very appreciative of all the devs that worked hard to make the Eris experience much, much more amazing.
So, I purchased my R800x in October, and I was excited. New phone, new community; I was really pumped to see what everyone here was cooking up. But we seem to be stuck in a holding pattern of some sort. I can definitely see there are a lot of talented people very eager to dev and cook up roms, but I'm finding the same loop everywhere: "Can we unlock bootloaders yet" maybe "CM7?" no.
Now, I don't expect anyone to do anything simply because this is here. That's not the point of the question. The question is (twofold): Why is there no open source boot loader unlock for all Xperia Plays? I went through the dev forum archives and can't really find anything concrete as to why phones like the R800x don't have one. And if there is an issue (or even if there is not), how can I help? I want to get involved. I don't have much experience with unlocking bootloaders, but I have gone through the Android source, and feel I'm moderately familiar with how Android works.

Same here, i was introduced brilliantly into the community when i bought my galaxy s, the development page was packed everyday of different stuff, with the play no ones trying.... but some people are. You can unlock your boot loader but it does cost a small amount of money, check the development section. Im 14 & don't really have a paypal account so i can't unlock mine either lol. We can't really help, were just 2 people out of 7,000,000,000 :L
People, the fact that the Play has few devs behind it is simple: sales. The Play has been a big flop. That is the mere reason why we're left with little support in comparison to other phones. Forget locked or unlocked bootloaders, open or closed operative systems or whatever, it's not relevant: if a phone/tablet/whatever sells well, it will be tinkered with. Commercial developers want money, amateurs are glory hounds eager to be like Darky or Geohot, and some just want to help selflessly, but the motivations of the three have sales as the common point.

Well its the best thing that ever happened in mobile gaming, compared to n gage anyway lol
I came from an Eris as well, handed it down to my niece, she is still using with 2.3.7.
I got my play back in June. In early August a dev named ashergray did figure out how to unlock the bootloader. Mine was one of the first 5-10 that they did. Lucky for me, it was free.
I am not sure if the devs involved were contacted by verizon, i think i read that somewhere, but they stopped doing it.
Right now theres a guy doing it for like 20 bucks. Kinda sucks but whatever.
Your not missing all that much yet, right now I am running Doom Kernel with the UK generic firmware. Its better then stock verizon, but not by leaps and bounds.
I think the noted difference between this community and the Eris community, is that the Eris was one of the first driod phones and it was dirt F'n cheap! Now that verizon has this going for 50 bucks, maybe we will get an increase in our community and dev population.
Oh and in general, gamers are arrogant assholes. You will see alot of that in here too.
Who would I contact about unlocking the bootloader on my R800x? I am willing to Donate to get it done. Thanks.
Check in the Development section

The way we got our early unlock was through a workaround in Sony Ericsson's standard unlock web interface. R800i gets a free bootloader unlock from Sony themselves. All you need is your IMEI number, go to their website, and type it in. It give you an unlock code and instructions on how to use it.
R800x doesn't have an IMEI, it has an MEID. The website wouldn't accept numbers with a letter in it (imei are all numbers). However, it was only the form on the website that filtered the input. Ashergrey found a way to feed the MEID directly to the unlocking program, and he was able to produce unlock codes. Sony eventually caught wind of this exploit and patched their website so now there's no free workaround to unlock.
The guy who you have to pay to unlock is allejandrissimo. You only have to pay to unlock because he has to buy credits for a sony ericsson program to do the unlocks. He is charging for the amount of the credits. This is currently the only way to do a bootloader unlock.
And honestly, this phone isn't selling well because it really isn't that great a phone. The controller is brilliant, don't get me wrong, but its a single core device with 384 meg of ram and maybe 512 of internal storage that came out at the same time as the droid x2 and similar devices, with 16 GIG of internal storage and 512 to 1GIG of ram, plus dual core to boot. And it came out at the same pricepoint. Seriously, my wife has a droid2 global, and its has 2 GIG of internal storage.
If xperia play had come out 6 months earlier, it would have been a big hit. Sony botched this one because, like most of their corporate marketing, they believe that the gamer portion of their population is stupid and will buy anything with the "playstation" name attached to it. Need I remind you of the initial PS3 marketing strategies? I almost didn't buy this phone because of the bad rep Sony had with me, related to how they treated their PS3 customers. Ultimately, my inner gamer won out.
Here's to hoping for an xperia play 2 that's got a decent screen, decent internal memory, and decent ram.

You have a point with the ram and Internal Storage, but Single core devices aren't really needed yet, Look at Dead space, GTA and other high graphic games, Off course it would be nice to have a Dual core but imo the xperia play could have been better if they put more into it (HDMI, Better screen...)
I agree that in reality it isn't a big deal. But with consumer products, perception drives reality. The phone was seen as being "lesser", and thus doesn't sell well.

Dual core or not , it's still among the best , but remember no games or even softwares are near being made for dual core devices anyways . All made the same some optimum (HD) for certain ones i.e Xperia play among others. And so far as the HDMI it's believed it's built-in , just not user friendly with current update .

But all in all, I love this post because even I said the same, the xperia is the only android todate that's a pain in the rear about everything , simple things are gigntic with it. I remember the G1 could even install recovery from it's own terminal emulator , seriously , even the G1 could do such a basic function , but you turn left or right , it's the same excuses everywhere it seems no one really knowing anything

I've compiled a whole thread about the whole resources at your disposal about rooting, unlocking, flashing stuff, and so on; I've asked mods to make it a sticky thread without an answer of any kind; and now recently I've been reading more and more comments about how "nobody knows anything concrete" or "there are no threads about this stuff".
I give up. It's just pointless.
*edit* it seems that my query to the mood never went to them. I'm quite puzzled about the why.

Agree with ya logseman big time
I also agree this phone is a good gamer phone.
but I also agree that the community or lack of one is really disappointing since I came from droid X community. there was so much going on there and compared to this its like comparing night to day.
Still , it's pathetic , because other phones even with a huge marketing profits weren't as hard nor complicated as the Zeus, I.E G1 , though it was a commercial success it still wasn't a pain to do anything , fact of the matter is , with or without development , the Zeus is still "roadblocked" compared to other androids which a newbie could easily.tweak.

I haven't linked ease of modding and sales in any way. I'm just saying that if a phone is successful in the market, it will be modded. The big name Galaxies are ROM whores that you can Sim unlock for free and they have lots of roms, tweaks and stuff... But then the iThings are very hard to mod yet they have huge quantities of stuff for jailbroken units.
Maemo phones were really easy to mod, webOS devices were seemingly hard to break, and both have little content in comparison to the former two.
It boils down to sales: we as users gamble on the popularity of a device: Galaxies and iThings have millions and millions of users, while maemo and webOS have only thousands.

I think we have to wait for Gameloft to update the games for tegra 3
I had emailed them before and their response was rather disappointing. Why other games which was initially offered in low resolution 480x800 like NFS shift is ok with one x and theirs cannot, really pissed off by their marketing tactics here.
See below their response.
Dear Customer,
Thanks for contacting Gameloft's Customer Care.
I apologize for the trouble and difficulties you have encountered with the game you have purchased.
Unfortunately, your Android device is not supported. (HTC ONE X)
Our development team is constantly working to bring new games to all platforms. We do not currently have any specific information to share about release of games for your device.
Please do not try to download a game which is not for your specific phone model. Each game is built for one particular device. If your phone is not listed, it's no use trying to get another game build. It will not work and it is not meant to work.
Gameloft assumes no liability for purchaser error, trial versions, software purchased for the wrong telephone, device or platform for any reason ("Purchaser Errors").
You accept full responsibility for confirming that the phone or other device manufacturer, phone or other device model, and carrier are supported and that the phone or other device is compatible to the products or services purchased, downloaded or otherwise obtained by you through the Site.
We accept NO RETURNS on software downloads. Please read the system requirements very carefully before making any purchases.
Please accept our apologies for causing you any inconveniences.
Best wishes
*Of course it's only frustrating for people who bought the app last time. And to see some games working nicely with low res and high res adds more disappointments towards them(gameloft). Scaling is not bad, doesn't have to be with the native res of one x.

Wow what an awful reply from a developer. I suppose at least you got a reply unlike the author of jenga.
We live and learn, I also own that game, but now I won't purchase any more gameloft games if they are going to treat paying customers this way, they could have said sorry we will take a look etc, not go on about their refund policy and our responsibility to check.
Very poor form from them and a customer lost here now

Yeah i've tryed all day to make the Asphalt 6 run on my friends HOX because he had it bought on another phone and he tryed to put it in his actual HOX,but..no luck. There are many games that don't work on HOX because of the Tegra 3,let's hope the developers will update them.
As for NFS:Shift...i hate it,i don't like anything about that game, honestly,i think that it's the worst possible racing game out there.
For as long as most android users, most have been with android since the beginning. We now have gaming, interactive apps and all sorts of cooky apps. Some to most of which are priced.
Here's an article I found trying to find Indie PC games for android "I failed".
http://www.webpronews.com/android-users-dont-want-to-pay-for-anything-2012-07 it talks about android users don't pay for apps, mostly because of root/no trial-free version.
This struck me as interesting because honestly I'd figure devs to be happy to share there work with the world for free. I honestly myself believe devs who charge just want money.
I do unfortunately buy some of these terrible products, but do give props and respect to those who do manage to make a fantastic app.
If its priced at least make it a good app, give a trial or free version.
This is where gaming comes in, obviously we know if not most games are marked with prices with no free trials and are half assed.
So I can see where piracy comes in, no one wants to pay 5.99$ for a half assed game. I've bought some games I regret and I proudly say if they release another I will pirate it. Sometimes its better to stay free, if its a great app or a dev who has done previous great work I would support them.
Yes I do pirate and I don't. Its where I stand with the devs and apps.
I'm shocked we don't pay for ROMs honestly.. these devs are fantastic at what they do and yes its for free, so props to them "unless it would be illegal which I don't believe it is" :sly:
Anyway.. I'm curious what you guys think?
Feel the same, do you support every dev in the play store?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
This is not meant to be offensive, but I might rant a bit.
Devs sharing their work for free? Have you ever programmed, taken a programming course, or had to pay 80k for a bachelors in Computer Science? It is time consuming to think of a good idea, implement it well, and then squash bugs. It takes HOURS, days, if not months.
Yes, there are devs who charge for crappy apps and I agree, some devs are greedy. However, isn't paying for an app the same logic as paying for a pizza? Yes, you can make one yourself, but its not like you can make a quality pizza without spending a lot in ingredients or machines (ovens, etc)--you're paying for the convenience of it being done already for you.
This applies to apps as well. You may be able to program something similar given enough time, but you are paying for the convenience and their time for making the app for you to use. Just because it is digital and not tangible doesn't make it any less work.
Now I agree that there should be some sort of trial for an app to see whether or not its good or that you like it. Unfortunately, the world doesnt run on this type of honesty and nobody would pay if it were offered for free. Thats why devs have to charge and thats why some people pirate. However, if you do pirate, please throw the developer some money if you really enjoy their app or use it frequently, otherwise if they go broke, how will they keep developing your favorite app?
/rant
You are right.
No argument* I want it to be a clean talk amongst android users.

Same goes for PC games. PC gamers can't rent games so they pirate. If you buy a PC game , guess what, you're stuck with it.
But, as for android apps at least we can get a refund which eleviates the need for a trial in some circumstances
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Piracy is a huge issue on Android, but like any thing you just have to put a little effort into making it more difficult to crack. Although a lot of people say that leaving it free with ads actually makes them more money then charging for it.
http://techcrunch.com/2012/08/26/how-free-apps-can-make-more-money-than-paid-apps/
edit: if you like indie games you should check out the humble bundle
OP, your logic is horrible. I do applaud your honesty, no matter how awful I believe it to be. Devs create content have a free will choice to make, and those who charge are well within their rights to do so. NOBODY HAS THE RIGHT TO STEAL, EVER. Now, having said that, some devs create content as their job. How can they buy food and pay rent if people steal their stuff. This thread is a failure, other than highlighting the challenge Google has in locking down Android to prevent piracy but still allow side loading and customizing.

I think everyone likes free stuff, this is normal
When i was new to android, i swore i would never pay for an app or game, and was happy that way. Then i got titanium backup and loved it, but hated that i couldn't batch restore, so i broke down and bought premium. Then i started frequenting these forums, seeing how much effort some of these devs out into their apps, games, etc. Now i pay for them, gladly, an i look for paid apps by respected devs first. Mostly i do it for functionality, but also to support. Titanium Backup, Franco kernel, CWM touch recovery, root explorer and many more I've bought and will gladly continue to do so. I get better apps and i support further development. Win/win in my book.

Right, because 5.99 is such an exorbitant price... so many other things that I could do with that money that would have lasting value... wait. No, not really.
If you don't want to spend the money on the app then you don't really want it. Don't steal.
Because of this thinking and abuse Android is full of crap adware/push adware games, and you don't see most quality games released for Android. That is so sad.
I just have one question: do you work for free? Or do your poor employer have to shell out some bucks to have you working there? Yes, I wonder why those bastard devs charge for they hard work, or use those ad craps to try to get some money out of their hard work...
And also, you say, there is a lot of sh1tware, yes, there are, as there are a lot of sh1temployees.... You hire them, they do not do their work, they get fired... You buy sh1tware, you realize it is sh1t, then you won't ever buy anything from those bastards again... I really loved when you had an entire day to get a refund in Android Market, but them, a lot of smartass3s had to abuse it, and just use the game/app for the entire day and ask for a refund, doing that for several games/apps....
So, if Android market for games is like it is today, is just because most people think like you, either don't buy anything at all, they prefer to stick to a free ad game than paying 5-7-10 bucks for a quality game like Infinity Blade, or, worse, they just pirate it, and yes, installous and jailbreak exist for iOS, but this is not as easy as just ticking a box in settings menu and then downloading APK's from anywhere...
Don't get me wrong, I love the way Android is open, but, unfortunately, most people suck and doesn't know how to use freedom, instead, they abuse and try to get advantages out of it...
Unfortunately Google will probably end up walling their garden because of these issues, or at least surrounding it with thorn bushes

Yup. Jail broke my brother's iPhone and the first thing he ask is, "OK load it up with apps for free."
I stared at him and made him learn it himself. He did, but still, $1 doesnt kill.
I just bought COD: BOZ, a $7 app. The closest I am to pirating is "Game Sharing".
Me and my friends put each other's Gmail account(requires a lot of trust Cuz we can tamper with each other's mail & stuff) on each other's phone and share our purchased apps. Done.
I do admit I pirate once in a while(Nova 3 being one, so laggy that it wasn't worth the price.)
But there is one punishment I love about Jailbreakers, if you pirate your apps, u can't put em back in when you unjailbreak to upgrade to the next iOS.

If I have helped you.... hit that sexy thanks button. ^_^

If I have helped you.... hit that sexy thanks button. ^_^
i never thoght i would pay money for apps or anything. but later on as i used android, and looked at forums, i realized that devs really do alot of work. put urself in their shoes, and first thing i thought was "why the fk should i bother making this crap if all its gonna do is go to some ungrateful persons phone and im not even gonna get a thanks". so i regularly buy apps. not only does that make the android market that much closer to being as good and as diverse as the ios market, but u also get the LEGIT app without any risks of having some weird ass **** go wrong with ur phone in a very subtle way.....
Hi There I have scoured the XDA forums for up to date information on either the LDU S10 or Note 10 device range. Unfortunately there seems to be very little information on hand, which is unusual considering there are loads of threads about previous Galaxy S series LDUs and retail mode disabling.
If anyone has information about disabling retail mode on the current generation devices, your help is much appreciated.
Note: The password 5444 trick that used to work no longer does, which would allow factory reset and MDM removal. Now I don’t plan on taking a gamble using ODIN to try and flash stock N975F onto my N975X device for fear of bricking. I have successfully flashed S6 devices in the past but I’m a bit more reluctant with the lack of info on hand.
Any help is much appreciated, those of you who might be inclined to post ‘This is a retail device, you shouldn’t have it’ - I would politely state I bought this on ebay as a legitimate listing and would like to use it for Android Studio App development for my final year college project. I have used LDUs in the past as an access point to development on Android as my daily driver is iOS and I wanted to break away from Xcode for a different challenge. I do computer science and have a passion for smartphones so spending 1200€ to do App testing on a Note10 Plus is not an option when I paid similar for my daily driver.
To clarify when I say a ‘legitimate ebay listing’ - if I can purchase on ebay with my own money that is my business and clearly satisfies eBays user agreement. Thanks in advance, all info welcome.
