Should HTC & SPRINT come out with a 4G HTC HD7 PRO?

I don't know if it's 4g but they are coming out with the HTC 7 Pro

why is everyone typing in such huge letters?!! this is beyond caps lock...

Why so you can buy an evo running 7 a year later? They need better hardware and the os needs some work before I'm interested.

I dont think it should be a 4G phone. The specs are nice, but it's nothing revolutionary to the point where customers would justify the $10 cool fee. I certainly hope sprint allows these phones to be used with legacy SERO plans. If microsoft sticks with their old WM business model of plan flexibility, I could see that sticking

Anyone Leaving Sprint and The Evo 4G?

With all the great phones being shown and released this year....I'm wondering who's thinking about jumping ship???? Any devs leaving????

Jump ship when I have the first phone with 4g? although my phone has never seen 4g and probably never will. Too bad it can not run on LTE. Verizon has their networks up before their phones are release, Sprint went kind of backwards on this one for some.
I have no problems with Sprint service, and Im on a great affordable plan. Im sure sprint will get some new flagship phones over the summer.
No. I currently have the best plans on the market, so I don't see the logic in spending more for less with another provider. Besides, I have a feeling Sprint is gonna surprise us in a good way, come June.
PS. My name is HondaCop and I approve this message.

Nope no reason to replace my EVO....
I dumped my iPhone 4 for the EVO!!! Sprints network is better than AT&T for my area anyway. I just can't wait for them to roll out 4G service in AZ. I do wish the EVO had better battery life though......
Plus if you do a service plan comparison Sprint has the better plans.......
I won't be leaving sprint anytime soon, and if i do it will be because of coverage more than a particular phone.
If in a year or two Sprint doesn't switch to LTE or at least get some better spectrum for wimax, I'll probably leave.
Verizon and I believe ATT will be using some of the 700Mhz spectrum for LTE and that is the only game changer for me...but their plans are expensive and I don't think their customer service is as good as Sprint.
I saw a recent review in a magazine at the doctors office that pointed out that AT&T had the worst reviews for customer service and cell service.
On the other hand it Sprint has been recognized for their strides in providing better service and better signal.
I had Verizon for a short period of time this year. I don't expect that much has changed with their customer service or their rate plans. They are very ineffective at customer service and seem to just not care about it. With out making this post a novel, Let's just say they couldn't even show me my bill in a store.
I have had Sprint's flagship since June when it was released ... with their rate plans for the Evo and other 4G phones there is no way that I would consider leaving then as a customer.

You should try the myns Rom and some kernels to change that battery life.. mine is like excellent.. way better than ever and I'm not exaggeration.. and I'm a heavy user.
Leaving a network just for a phone is silly, since every network will get a better phone than the one you have sooner or later. Leaving because of costs/coverage? That at least makes sense.

Why would I jump ship, I'm not easily swayed by everything that glitters. Plus I get good service and plan.
To sum it up, HELL TO THE NO.....

Label it whatever you want, silly, traitor, etc. but that new monster Motorola Atrix phone shown at CES this year seriously has my nipples fully erect. that thing is just a beast. i really hate all the other cell providers(various fees, caps, coverage, etc) but damn, thats an awesome phone!
I'm leaving Sprint and the EVO... but only because I'm moving someplace with no Sprint... blah
Im gonna sit out this contract not because of money, but because the next big thing is dual cores. Till I see an awesome dual core im not jumping anywhere.
Sent from an Evo on steroids.
Nope! I left Verizon for a reason. Their prices are ridiculously high for less! My Evo will have a very good shelf life, sprint should be rolling something out of their sleeve soon anyways.

Best reply of the post.
No... I have the best priced plan with one of the top available phones and get full 4g at work constantly for tethering when needed sparingly on my laptop. Bought my EVO of craigslist, by contract expires after June 27th and still will stick with Sprint after that.
I have a contract from when I bought my hero, paid out of pocket for my evo and had it replace my hero, I will gladly pay out of pocket again for the evo 2, I like sprint, I like my 4.3 inch screen, if I can keep those 2 with an upgrade I will, but dangle whatever phone you want to in front of me and unless it's sprint with 4.3 or bigger I won't care the least
no phone can tempt me for the 100 a month we are saving (vs verizon)

Hurry up Microsoft/VZW, I want my WP7!

I want a WP7 so badly on Verizon. To have all my services (Xbox Live, Zune Pass, Netflix) on one phone is what I have been waiting for years now. Since I don't want to miss out on hacking I probably will get a Android tablet this year. But yeah hurry up VZW!
wait for it...
you'll want to wait for some upgrades so you can use data and voice at the same time...
imagine the buyers remorse of all those iphone users in a month or so...
I may be the minority but I barely talk on my phone and I use it all the time
Hang in there for a little while longer. I'm a live/zunepass user as well and having everything in one device has been great. If I want to send a message on xblive I just use the phone rather than the controller. You already know how great zunepass is, now I have one less device to carry.
Soon it will be yours!
CDMA support is in this coming update and the phones will be released shortly after. I think you will be seeing it sooner rather than later.

How about six days? They are clearly not going to release a WP7 phone for Verizon in six months. It will be WAY earlier.
don't be in such a rush. i was at tmobile and verizon last night in the mall and both are just pushing android devices. verizon is also advertising the heck out of the iphone now.
tmobile only had one hd7 out and they told me it is not selling well at all. they didn't even have the dell venue at all.
i got to play with the hd7 and while the design is great the os lacks very much. too simple for a high end user and tweaker such as myself.

My post.
Everything so far points to before the end of Feb (before/after the Cut&paste update comes) but, other reports say by then end of Jan. Others say any day now. So, no one has a phuck'n clue so far. No one is saying anything nor even hinting. I even have people in 5 Verizon stores who will text me when they know something and they don't know anything as of yet.
I'm sure by at least mid Feb we'll have one or at least know when we will get one.
I'll take one in 6 days if you can prove it.
Verizon WP7 by summer. IPhone will rule.
My bet is that Sprint will release a WP7 phone before Verizon.

The Venue Pro is only sold at the Microsoft store (there are only a few nationwide) or by ordering from Dell's website. It has T-Mobile 3G bands and that is about it.

Yeah, and AT&T sort of pushed the iPhone. They still sold the BlackBerry Torch upon launch. I think they are pushing WP7 now since they seem to be the only carrier with commercials.
I think Sprint will release their WP7 phone(s) before VZW.
So far, the only phone I've heard that is coming to VZW is the HTC Trophy (?), a super-generic (about) 3.6" touch screen phone.
The only WP7 phone out now that I want is the HTC 7 Pro. That will be coming to Sprint, and my fingers are crossed that VZW picks it up also since there will be a CDMA version already.

I really don't think that Verizon will get the short end of the straw for WP7. Something tells me that they might offer the some sort of Omnia device (maybe the Omnia with the keyboard). But I am just guessing because they offered Samsung Omnia phones in the past.

and how often does that come up??? And most times I try, even on 3g, if I wasn't already using the data, it tells me that I can't because I'm not on 3g (even though I am). There's a reason verizon is number 1, consistent data and voice services that don't cut out on you.

Wait for LTE or upgrade to GSII? (EVO 4G)

Live in Phoenix so no 4G (how the hell the 6th biggest city in the country has no 4G is beyond me)... Worth the upgrade from an EVO or should I just wait for LTE to roll out next year (we better get it in Phoenix!)
Sgs2 is definitely an upgrade over the EVO, but lte wont be rolled out till 2013 I think.
The resale value for the Epic Touch in 6 months is gonna be just fine.
If you really care that much about LTE but you want to upgrade just sell the phone when it comes to your area and buy whatever phone out right.
From what I've read LTE phones/service will be available Summer 2012...that said if you are happy with your evo don't upgrade. It definitely is an upgrade over the Evo (I upgraded from the Evo4g) and if you have someone else's upgrade you can use (if you are on a family plan) and they don't mind if you use theirs then you can upgrade now And upgrade then. I used my dad's upgrade and gave him my Evo(He had a bb 8330 so he was more than happy)..so now I still have my upgrade and I got the SGII at upgrade price.

Go for the SGS2, its worth it, trust me!!! i jumped ship from EVO 4G, and i love it!!!!! LTE wont be out for a decent amount of time, and if you do the best buy buyback program, you can get a new phone in a year for the same amount as you would pay if you had a legit sprint upgrade, so jump to the SGS2, you wont regret it lol!!!!
There are a few WiMAX towers in Phoenix; I know of two, at Kierland and at 7th St and Bell.

I have a friend that lives at 7th and bell and when i connect to the 4G tower, i only get about 5 mbps which is terrible. That is sitting next to the tower too. Sprint sucks
Why don't, you just wait for 5g. Seriously, buy the epic touch, and when it comes time for your upgrade lte will be strong. Plus sprint is going to have some kicking deals to get people off wimax.

Upgrade. I live in ahwatukee with 3g only and this phone kicks major ass. I was a flash aholic with the evo 4g and the evo3d because they always needed some type of tweaking to work properly. The SGS2 works flawlessly right out of the box. Get it. It's 5 stars.

that new Edge looks sick... now the ZETA!... come on... sprint better pick up something or im' jumping ship!
plus lte for Verizon, my buddy's getting like 16-18mb down!..something nuts
This is just my hunch, but I would expect the current generation (SGSII, Photon, Evo3D) is the last set of high end new phones we'll see on Sprint until the LTE network is ready. Those phones are still competitive with the best out there, with the Galaxy Nexus being the exception. The 3 flagships they have right now will last long enough to tide them over until the summer when they start introducing LTE devices. I certainly could be wrong, but I don't think it'd make a lot of sense to invest in developing and marketing new WiMax phones at this point (unless they're dual-mode WiMax/LTE).
I agree with the last post. The nexus galaxy and the droid razor beat the EVO but not enough for me to spend $300 on.
I moved this spring out of Sprint coverage and have been using my EVO on prepaid carriers waiting for Verizon or ATT to come out with something worth signing a contact for.
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
The EVO was a huge thing for Sprint, so I have to imagine they want to capitalize on the good will they earned with a lot of customers who probably signed up for 2 year contracts. Expect something big on the Sprint network around June/July this year. Likely with the EVO branding.
If there is a proper "EVO 2" type device around the time my contract ends, I almost want to buy it without even knowing the specs.

Uk customers is this a cheap way to get an upgrade

http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2012/10/finally-we-have-ees-4g-pricing-and-its-not-coming-cheap/
Says HTC one x owners who took out a contract in last 6 months can early terminate for just £99,does this mean you keep the phone and can get a new 4g one on a 2 year deal if so could you pay £99 then sell phone for £200 then get a 4g

I was confused by this.
It says a one off fee of £99 - does that mean your contract pricing stays the same? But you get 4G?
If not, the offer is not even remotely tempting.

Anyone contacted ee to see the t&cs of this offer?
500mb of data, what is that nonsense? Ofcom really need to step in for us soon and give the mobile contractors a kick up the arse.
Also
you can dump your current contract and switch to EE 4G for £99

Sounds more like you're paying £99 to get a NEW contact on EE 4G, which will probably be a worse contract than you're on for allowance.
This seems to be a really bad deal. If my understanding is correct - its a trade in offer, so you need to hand in your old phone, pay £99 for a new phone then they will switch you to one of these new expensive 4G tarrifs!
If that is right - you would have to be nuts or really really want 4G.

Agree. Looks like EE are chancing there arm and charging early adopter high prices. Wait until the other networks roll out 4G and watch those prices tumble.

Very true.
At the beginning of this new 4G roll out - the early adopters will have to sell their children to be able to afford a 4G data plan.
Best thing to do is to wait patiently for other networks to enter this market (won't be anytime soon though), only when faced by competition - will we begin to see reasonably priced 4G tariffs, until then - the kids will have to go!
Just glad i live in the country. have to setttle for 3g. probably 2020 before i see 4g:laugh:
All you are doing is taking out a new contract on ee. Same as doing an upgrade. Also people take out a £61 plan for an iPhone with 1gb data. No difference there.
