Low quadrant score? - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the leaked ota update from a few weeks ago and the newest radio, when I run quadrant I get a score of 850 or so, I've heard of people getting scores near 1400 on a droid incredible and I was wondering what I could do to increase my phone performance and increase my quadrant score.

I;m using the BFS Kernel at 1.113GHZ and got a score of 1580 with the governor set at performance. When it's on conservative, I get around 1350 to 1450 when it feels like giving me the performance. The conservative governor isn't meant for performance but it's still a good score when it's trying to save some battery.

Low?
Grab KINgxKernel BFS #1 and Set Cpu. You can OC the Kernel to 1.19 but 1.15 is stable. Was able to reach 1669 in Quadrant with this Kernel.

when you are running those kernels do you really notice a performance increase, or just an improved quadrant score?
also how do these kernels affect battery life

I'm using kings 3 kernel and get about 20 hours out of the battery. Definitely notice and increase. I don't OC and am just using the stock kernel settings.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App

I'm using kings #3 and am at 30% remaining and 26 hrs unplugged. Definitely worth the try

great thanks, I'll check out those kernels.
Also would a kernel update like this allow for a 802.11n wifi connection?

hmm.... I just installed the #3 kernel and my quadrant score is still sitting around 780, maybe i'm misunderstanding something.

I have the BFS #1 kernel and the offical OTA leak installed, OC'd to 1.113 and set to performance. I was able to get 1408, highest i've ever gotten.

does the #1 kernel see the same battery life increases as #3?

Love the BFS #1 with SKyRaider 3.0 RC2!

Same here. Running sr 2.5.2, and king 3 set to 1.19 performance, I've turned off sync and killed all running apps but still can't get over 1080 on quadrant. Are theses Higher scores from a fresh install with no market apps installed?

I loaded the leaked rom and run about 1160.
Nobody says as to change the kernal or oc......

I get a little over 1100 on quadrant but im running genocide .4 I've seen people tuning genocide with over 1700 I don't get it.

QFT. My current setup of Incredikernel + MIUI 1.3.5 can get Quadrants in the 1500 range, but It doesn't seem any better than when I used to get 900's. Find a ROM you like, a kernel that has decent battery life, and smile, you'll have it as good as it gets!

Hi ABC Universal,
can you tell us how did you reach this score ???
The difference is so big...!!??
Looks like you're based on a chinese version as I see some chinese in the status bar.
Thx.
Really impressive!!!
How is it possible?

It is genuine output from quadrant running on defy. But yes there is no miracle performance boost.
Actually it demonstrated a limitation of defy's (and many others') CPU and a problem of quadrant benchmark. There is a detailed Chinese article explaning it but I understand only a little. Essentially, with some settings in android 2.2 system, defy (and many others) will fail the H264 decoding test, but quadrant takes it as completed in mini second, and thus the exceptional high cpu mark.
It was originated by some low end Chinese android phones which surprised people with exceptional quadrant benchmark. It turned out they had these settings enabled by default (/system/build.prop):
media.stagefright.enable-player=true
media.stagefright.enable-meta=true
media.stagefright.enable-scan=true
media.stagefright.enable-http=true
So this simply means the guys over at Aurora need to update their software to read the fail and drop the score to where it should be in reference to high end phones.
Does it mean that the Nexus and Evo 2.2+ scores are also wrong for the same reason?

According to the discussions, these two models enabled the settings by default. But I don't have them to examine myself.
That's explains why you install the sense rom, you obtain amazing Quadrant scores...
But really? no better performance? i thing this processor can do more than now...
not fake, i can do that too http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=976015
I think people getting 2700+ from defy now with this hack
hohoho, i go to try this....
EDIT.: For me, 1750 1Ghz 57vel
I've got 1231 @ 1000 mhz/53 vsel and 1303 @ 1100 mhz/55 vsel.
What benchmark app is this?
Whooooaaa!!! I don't believe it....!! Look awesome!
Down the line if the Defy can stay at average/consistant score around 1300 to 1500 should be more than enough running the daily apps/games available in the market.
Hit it more will eventually fried the poor Defy... huhuhu..!
mine got [email protected] on cm7 beta6, so you don't need to "cheat" to get a score that high out of the defy
this is my best score:
2617 on my defy with cm7 beta 6, cpu set to 1200 mhz and 80 vsel
but I think that there is something wrong: I usually get about 2200 (1950 with 1000 mhz, 1700 with 800 mhz), but every 5-6 tests i get similar score

Cyanogen 1.8ghz
Underclocked and still better than stock. Runs great at 768mhz. No complaints.
Maximum overclock on stock CM7 kernel (~1.5ghz).
I did some tests with the CM7 Nightly 3. I got some amazing scores:
Stock cpu speed:
1.2GHz:
1.45GHz:
1.6GHz:
1.7 and 1.8GHz gave me lower scores than 1.6GHz, so I guess its safe to say 1.6Ghz is the max stable speed.
can't wait to hit cm7 and push it now !!!

Interestingly, after some tweaking, messing around, and other stuff, I managed to score over 2200 at 768mhz. I'm getting some nice smooth performance out of it while underclocked, and getting it to do things quicker means it'll save that much more battery.

I'm not really sure, to be honest. I was mostly tweaking personal preferences, then messing with governors on the CPU. While comparing governors, the number kept climbing until it broke 2200 then fell back to just under 2200. I double checked my CPU clock settings to make sure I was still at 768mhz. I haven't really done any further testing. I suspect part of it may be JIT optimizations, but I'm not sure.

Yea I was messing around with the different govenors after reading your post and I noticed a big difference between the power saver and ONdemand. Power saver makes the transitions a little sluggish but I guess that's to be expected for what it's trying to do. lol All in all though the battery life on ondemand is leaps and bounds ahead of the stock ROM I'm running a 1.1ghz clock right now and it is like butter with battery life to boot.

Support for multicore CPUs and ICS
GUI improvements
Polish translation
Fixed slow framerate on PowerVR SGX 540
Due to changes implemented to support new devices this version of Quadrant reports scores different from 1.x releases. The result browser will be restored in the next update, when new benchmark results are

If you guys want to up your scores a bit, try this:
- Create a backup (however you backup your phone, CWM, etc.)
- Using Root Explorer, go to: system/lib/egl and delete the whole first line in egl.cfg (that ends with the word 'android') so that only the line under it with your GPU name is still there.
- Reboot.
- Run Quadrant again. Should get better FPS and a bit higher of a score.

I was hoping that wasn't true, lol.
I know these benchmarks don't really mean much but it is still nice to see a higher score.
I'm using Liquid Rom Beta 4 and Franco.kernel 16.2, and when using CPU benchmarks, including on Quadrant, Antutu and Linpack, for some reason, it's horribly slow and gets really bad scores. My Quadrant score was in the one thousands because the CPU score alone dragged it down. I'm gonna try Leankernel, then if that doesn't work, I'll switch back to AOKP. Does anyone else know anything else about this?

I've always gotten lower scores (barely 2000, sometimes a little more than 3000) and was wondering if I was going crazy or this is normal. I've tried so many rom/kernel combinations but no luck.

The updated quadrant reports much lower for all devices. The GN isn't as much of a "benchmark queen" as the SGSII has potential to be. Unless your phone is reporting a score far under what Quadrant reports as typical, don't worry about it.
I'm benchmark app free
There are a few posts around with people showing around 4000 on quadrant i think. Dont know which roms though. Search the benchmark thread.
ive found the BEST stability and over all best scores without over clocking with the official cyanogenmod 9 nightly i get 3000+ with that... but like the dude before said quadrant scores are all hype... just use a rom with good speed that works best for u.
I don't always choose a ROM based on 1 stat...
but when I do, its for Quadrant.
Quadrant doesn't really translate to real world use.. why do people obsess over quadrant scores so much? If the phone runs well it runs well I don't need third party software to tell me if my phone is running fine.

idc about quadrant, i just want a clean phone w/o bloatware with lot of resources and support
I owned a Sprint SGS2 and while quadrant scores were in the 3000's consistently and the GN is in the 2000's I cannot tell the difference in speed between the 2 of them.
Now with quad cores, they will even score higher but how much smoother can a device run then smooth as butter?
If you don't think your phone runs smooth, then try AOKP and turn your swag on. Let's see if the iPhone 4s can do that sh.t!
I get around 3200-3300 give or take a hundred running AOKP build #26 + franco.Kernel 18.6 oc'ed to 1350mHz (minimum 700mHz) and using conservative governor. The UV has been left as it came with the kernel or whatever.
I have to add that I just got this phone a couple of days ago, and I am totally and utterly giving this the title of best phone I have ever had. I can't believe the person I got this off of actually switched to an iPhone because of battery issues xD
Aokp build 25
franco.kernel @ 1.65ghz (the new releases don't go this high because it's unstable for some)

[Q] Over clocking? Kernel? P930 BENCHMARK?

I am looking for a great overlock for my lg nitro hd.... I know there is one that sets the CPU all the way up to 1.83 GHz but does anyone know the benchmark score of the updated processor...
On average stock the phone pulls around 2500... What is the highest you guys have gotten and how?
Thanks,

2500? Which benchmark-prog? Seems a little low to me, if your using Antutu or CF-bench...
With (for example) the optimized kernel from HO!NO! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1547505 you can bring speed (not just speed, its stable too) to your phone. Together with the V1b ROM the benchmark was getting from 5200 to 7500 in Antutu and in CF-bench up to 8400. Also the performance on daily usage is way better than on stock!

That sound pretty good too. Unfortunatly i cant try CM9, not working for LU6200.
I also experienced no more heat, i guess its because the kernel is also undervolted.
On stock it was like a oven under heavy usage, thought it was a broken phone. But since i have the new kernel even under heavy usage, no heat anymore.
That's my main reason for wanting a cm9 compatible kernel, the undervolting. While I was running honos rom was the only time my phone didn't get too hot during normal use.

7730 - Stock Bell Optimus 4G LTE P930 ROM with HO!NO! Kernal overclocked to 1836 MHz works the best for me as far as daily operating speed.
