[Q] Over clocking? Kernel? P930 BENCHMARK? - LG Nitro HD

I am looking for a great overlock for my lg nitro hd.... I know there is one that sets the CPU all the way up to 1.83 GHz but does anyone know the benchmark score of the updated processor...
On average stock the phone pulls around 2500... What is the highest you guys have gotten and how?
Thanks,
Dniz

2500? Which benchmark-prog? Seems a little low to me, if your using Antutu or CF-bench...
With (for example) the optimized kernel from HO!NO! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1547505 you can bring speed (not just speed, its stable too) to your phone. Together with the V1b ROM the benchmark was getting from 5200 to 7500 in Antutu and in CF-bench up to 8400. Also the performance on daily usage is way better than on stock!

My score is 6494 running stock clock speed of 1512mhz.
I'm running CM9 Nightly 4/17.
Haven't tried overclocking yet, but that might help add some perspective.

That sound pretty good too. Unfortunatly i cant try CM9, not working for LU6200.
I also experienced no more heat, i guess its because the kernel is also undervolted.
On stock it was like a oven under heavy usage, thought it was a broken phone. But since i have the new kernel even under heavy usage, no heat anymore.

That's my main reason for wanting a cm9 compatible kernel, the undervolting. While I was running honos rom was the only time my phone didn't get too hot during normal use.

Yeah I can't wait for a custom CM9 kernal come out.

8041 - HO!NO! ROM and Kernal @ 1836 MHz (stable but not as smooth operation as stock ROM, I found)
7730 - Stock Bell Optimus 4G LTE P930 ROM with HO!NO! Kernal overclocked to 1836 MHz works the best for me as far as daily operating speed.

Low quadrant score?

I have the leaked ota update from a few weeks ago and the newest radio, when I run quadrant I get a score of 850 or so, I've heard of people getting scores near 1400 on a droid incredible and I was wondering what I could do to increase my phone performance and increase my quadrant score.

I;m using the BFS Kernel at 1.113GHZ and got a score of 1580 with the governor set at performance. When it's on conservative, I get around 1350 to 1450 when it feels like giving me the performance. The conservative governor isn't meant for performance but it's still a good score when it's trying to save some battery.
Low?
Grab KINgxKernel BFS #1 and Set Cpu. You can OC the Kernel to 1.19 but 1.15 is stable. Was able to reach 1669 in Quadrant with this Kernel.
when you are running those kernels do you really notice a performance increase, or just an improved quadrant score?
also how do these kernels affect battery life
I'm using kings 3 kernel and get about 20 hours out of the battery. Definitely notice and increase. I don't OC and am just using the stock kernel settings.

I'm using kings #3 and am at 30% remaining and 26 hrs unplugged. Definitely worth the try
great thanks, I'll check out those kernels.
Also would a kernel update like this allow for a 802.11n wifi connection?
hmm.... I just installed the #3 kernel and my quadrant score is still sitting around 780, maybe i'm misunderstanding something.
I have the BFS #1 kernel and the offical OTA leak installed, OC'd to 1.113 and set to performance. I was able to get 1408, highest i've ever gotten.

Same here. Running sr 2.5.2, and king 3 set to 1.19 performance, I've turned off sync and killed all running apps but still can't get over 1080 on quadrant. Are theses Higher scores from a fresh install with no market apps installed?
I loaded the leaked rom and run about 1160.
Nobody says as to change the kernal or oc......
I get a little over 1100 on quadrant but im running genocide .4 I've seen people tuning genocide with over 1700 I don't get it.

QFT. My current setup of Incredikernel + MIUI 1.3.5 can get Quadrants in the 1500 range, but It doesn't seem any better than when I used to get 900's. Find a ROM you like, a kernel that has decent battery life, and smile, you'll have it as good as it gets!

[Q] How much is Best Quadrant Benchmark Score of Defy?

Hi, I was wonder if you can show us how much is the best quadrant score for defy that ever anyone get that! (of course with ScreenShot of quadrant advanced and which rom u use and how much overclock you did)
sorry for my english
quadrant advanced doesnt support gb afaik (textures dont show), so you cant measure gb roms with that. but here are to pics of the standard edition (first [email protected], second [email protected]).

@defyno1: what quadrant advanced version is that? 1.1.6? cuz that doesnt support gb, try quadrant standard 1.1.7!

Do you overclock only to get higher values on Quadrant Score?
got a score of 3133 on MIUI 1.7.1
Hi. I think the limit is around 3300-3500.
1370 Mhz that's much . Is your phone stable with this setting ?
GOt 2400+ CM7 RC0 default setting. Not overclocked!
After I learn about the "SQL trick" I don't care for Quadrant results anymore
On WajkIUI 1.8.19 @1200 I got 2665

Can u elaborate further.
Maybe MIUI has the SQL trick by default because their scores are so high?
Whats the highest score in CM?
Mine is 2.8k
I read about in some obscured forum. Tomorrow I will have access to the bookmark and i'll share the information. Most forums says just "SQL tweaks"... it's something about how the SQL reads data in the tables ... it screws the Quadrant SQL test and generates artificial results ...

[CDMA] Any ROMs with 4,000+ quadrant scores?

I've always gotten lower scores (barely 2000, sometimes a little more than 3000) and was wondering if I was going crazy or this is normal. I've tried so many rom/kernel combinations but no luck.
I'm on AOKP and I'm getting 2068 and lower.
Comes from the Epic and the GS2, I was kinda expecting a lot more.

The updated quadrant reports much lower for all devices. The GN isn't as much of a "benchmark queen" as the SGSII has potential to be. Unless your phone is reporting a score far under what Quadrant reports as typical, don't worry about it.
I'm benchmark app free
There are a few posts around with people showing around 4000 on quadrant i think. Dont know which roms though. Search the benchmark thread.
ive found the BEST stability and over all best scores without over clocking with the official cyanogenmod 9 nightly i get 3000+ with that... but like the dude before said quadrant scores are all hype... just use a rom with good speed that works best for u.
I don't always choose a ROM based on 1 stat...
but when I do, its for Quadrant.
Quadrant doesn't really translate to real world use.. why do people obsess over quadrant scores so much? If the phone runs well it runs well I don't need third party software to tell me if my phone is running fine.

idc about quadrant, i just want a clean phone w/o bloatware with lot of resources and support
I owned a Sprint SGS2 and while quadrant scores were in the 3000's consistently and the GN is in the 2000's I cannot tell the difference in speed between the 2 of them.
Now with quad cores, they will even score higher but how much smoother can a device run then smooth as butter?
If you don't think your phone runs smooth, then try AOKP and turn your swag on. Let's see if the iPhone 4s can do that sh.t!
I get around 3200-3300 give or take a hundred running AOKP build #26 + franco.Kernel 18.6 oc'ed to 1350mHz (minimum 700mHz) and using conservative governor. The UV has been left as it came with the kernel or whatever.
I have to add that I just got this phone a couple of days ago, and I am totally and utterly giving this the title of best phone I have ever had. I can't believe the person I got this off of actually switched to an iPhone because of battery issues xD
Aokp build 25
franco.kernel @ 1.65ghz (the new releases don't go this high because it's unstable for some)

benchmarked ROMS: stock GB v. leaked ICS v. CM9 v. CM9+HO!NO! kernel

I wanted to see how each current rom stacks up in a comparison, all roms were installed fresh- data wiped and all. i could not get the test to run with the HO!NO! kernel at full clock, even though my phone handles everything else fine at full clock.
each test was run 2x on each rom.

were you using antutu? this is what i got with it. All i did was kill all processes. running nightly from 6.11 and also using HO!NO! (thank you) v2 OC to 1.84Ghz
Hmm.. LG's ICS looks very promising for future custom ROMs/Kernals. Nice comparison.
yes, antutu. i think it's OK, benchmarks are what they are but I figure it should provide a generally good comparison. the only app installed on each rom was antutu and for cm9, gapps 3/17.

this comparison is not a speedy demon test, i've done that and posted that previously, I can achieve those results you posted with the stock gb killing processes and much more to get the phone in drag strip mode.
this is simply an attempt to compare ROMS on a generally = footing.

The speed is very promising hands down. you cant go any higher than that speed? i know that every processor has its own share of DNA, but i would assume most would stop at 1.8

1. Benchmarks are not everything. 2. ICS improvements mainly come from its ui hardware acceleration and if you used it you would see the point of running ics. Its significantly smoother than gb ever was and it manages memory better.

Correct for smoother, I experienced ICS for 2 days b4 went back to GB. For memory, I don't know about it's management mechanism but I saw it used more memory.
funny that my nitro hd in stock2.3.5 scores 5647 total but get 1522 on gpu what is a lot.But i dont know why i get really bad I/O (430) i think its cuz the sd card is class 2 16 gb wich is slow.

Overclocking?

Considering how the S4 Pro in the Nexus 7 is actually just a downclocked version of the Snapdragon 600 I presume there is a decent amount of wiggle room for overclocking. Yes, these are probably the worse chips out of the binning process to have been condemned to live the rest of their lives as S4 Pros, but would hope all of these should easily be able to achieve the 1.7Ghz Snapdragon 600 specs. Maybe even some lucky owners could push theirs to and beyond what we see in the Galaxy S4 at 1.9Ghz.
Now I'm just speculating as my Nexus 7 isn't even here yet (still in shipping). I made this post to make some discussion on the matter. Like people who've already tried messing with clock speeds and voltages on theirs could share their findings here. Talk about what kernels permit what levels of tweaking. Or even GPU overclocking/governor tweaking etc...
So, discuss!
I've tried running it over 2.1 Ghz with no problems at all. I really just wanted to see what a benchmark could get up to. I didn't check the voltages were. I tried running it fairly hard and of seemed to do alright.

What's the score of the benchmark you got? Is it almost the same as S600 devices?
I was able to atget up to 8849 on quadrant. It is consistently above 8000 for me using CyanogenMod and an overclocked kernel at 2052 Mhz CPU and 487 MHz GPU. At 2052mhz it is at 1175mV.
