I rooted my device only so I can add Hebrew support, but unfortunately I only managed to get Hebrew with an old ROM which doesn't support multi-touch
How can I add the Hebrew fonts (found here*: romraid.com/paul/bravo/r1-hebrew-desire-signed.zip) to the stock ROM or a custom ROM (like MoDaCo)?
Any help is appreciated...
* The forum wouldn't let me post the full link just add three w's in the beginning....
Are there no tutorials for making custom ROMs?
If you have an Ad-Free MoDaCo account you can cook your own MCRr3 ROM with Hebrew in it
The problem is I don't want to use the MoDaCo ROM, simply because I don't need all the features in it.. I just need Hebrew
Also the FM radio doesn't work in MoDaCo as far as I know so that's kind of a turn off
Thanks
Never use the radio - it's a phone!!!
You can just take out all the things you don't want - I don't use any of the MoDaCo bits tbh, but I also add in newer version of apps (Facebook, Twitter, etc) so I have it how I want it.
Other than that you'd just have to use a rooted stock ROM and add the update ZIP into it seperately

Hi,
I am currently running the TLR 3 ROM which included the option to remove both Manilla and Opera (I don't use either).
Is it possible to either remove these post upgrade from existing ROMs or is there a cooked ROM based on the latest version that does not have either?
Thanks
just pick a naked rom, and install what ever u want.
there are plenty of them here,
just search for one

If you don't mind a german rom, I could reccomend the WhiteNoise....

What is the most up to date naked ROM then?
Any links?
Hello a noob question for you guys.
I see some custom ROMS (if not every one) says that you have to have a certain radio version or newer.
then again I see stock ROMS often has a radio version in the file name.
Does that mean that the stock ROMS include the proper radio ? and that i dont need to find a radio seperately ?
thanks
Yes, stock roms such as this RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.15.405.4_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4. 05.00.11_release_122704.exe include an associated radio also.
If you flash a custom rom from the stock rom, you will always have the default stock radio version (e.g. 32.30.00.28U_4. 05.00.11) installed unless you flash a newer radio rom yourself.
You will find that the selection of custom roms will be without radio versions, and the OP will normally provide links to the recommended radio versions that will work with that associated rom, for performance and functionality purposes.
thank you for helpfull info
another one for you
if i want to downgrade to stock sometime, wil the "old" version of the radio overwrite the newer one i might have installed with a custom ROM ?

If you flash back to a stock rom with the radio version included, then you will also have stock rom and radio installed. The rom image and radio image will be replaced to stock firmware.
You could even flash the stock radio rom individually, list of stock radio's here:

No problem bud
Quick question leading on from this...if you flash a new radio, does it delete all your apps and settings like when you flash a new rom, or do they survive?
Cheers.

No, the radio is written to a seperate part of the device, and does not interfere with the OS portion.
It's finally here...
Samsung's official Middle East Gingerbread ROM 2.3.3 with full Arabic support for the Galaxy Tab.
Code: P1000 - JPJP9
This rom image is specifically intended for developers to tinker around with and not for regular users. This rom image is untouched and does not contain any of the enhancements/additions seen in custom roms.
This rom image has been extracted from a recently updated Galaxy Tab via Kies. Kies pushed the JPJP9 update, and the rom image was simply dumped.
This is not a Beta... It is an actual final release of the official Arabic Samsung rom for the Galaxy Tab.
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK !!!
http://www.MegaShare.com/3370075
As always use Odin v1.7 to install.
Enjoy, and hope to see great cooked roms out of this one

The link provided by @wakady demonstrates the new rom while in action. The honeycomb skin/theme shown is a seperately installed MOD and does not come with the official rom.
Hope this clarifies...

Theoretically it should work... But I'm not responsible for any unexpected results from the upgrade...
If your tab is an International/Middle East version, then it should work fine...
Actually it won't as this firmware is missing the bootloaders. Flash a stock gingerbread firmware first then this one.
Hello Experts!
Just a question of caution before i upgrade my Tab.
I have a stock Galaxy Tab so its not rooted or anything.
Do i just download Odin 1.7 and the Arabic Rom and flash my Tab?
Any advice before i begin?
Thanks
If you're on Froyo ROM Flash Chainfire's ROM first as it contains bootloaders. If you are already on gingerbread then flash away
I'm still on Froyo 2.2.
Does this ROM allow arabic to be displayed properly, meaning that the letters are connected?
I hate to sell my Tab just to get the Ipad for its native ability to read arabic.
and what are bootloaders good for? can i upgrade to this arabic ROM without installing Chainfire's ROM first?
Gingerbread has its own signed bootloaders for it to boot. This firmware here doesn't contain them. If you flash it it will not boot and you only get screen corruption.
A safe alternative is that you can do it at your local samsung service center.
Is this the rooted one available at ce4arab.com forum?
or is it completely original kernel with original Samsung recovery menus?
ok thanks for the advice.
any chance u've tried the rom out? could you tell me if the arabic letters are connected properly?
thanks

yes they r mate...i've tried it....similar like froyo with same apps pre-installed as well
if u need any assistance let me know
can you please upload another link to the firmware as this one seems to be not working and if you have any idea about how to install arabic to 2.3.3 insted of flashing the whole firmware that would be great.
Hey There,
ive seen there are now some ROMs wich are debloated but still contains other Stuff which is not inluded at official ROM.
So is there a guide or a HowTo that i can unsinstall apps i dont like by myself, how can i do this?
Id like to build my own Custom Rom so maybe there still is a thread and im to blind to find it by search ??
This seems like a question I should be able to find an answer to myself, but I have searched all throughout the N7100 forum and can't seem to find my answer.
I have the Galaxy Note II International Version (GT-N7100). I rooted it with the Samsung Galaxy Note2 Toolkit
When I rooted, I had version 4.1.1 of android. It didn't get any OTA updates since it was rooted. I would like version 4.1.2 so I can run the Samsung Multi WIndow Manager so that I can use any app in the MultiWIndow mode.
What's the best way to do this? I tried flashing a stock rom, but I got stuck when I was required to download a stock ROM. I'm in the United States, but I don't see any region with United States so I don't know which I should get.
Sooo... Is this the proper way to update the Samsung rom if I had it rooted? Is there a better way?
What rom is best to use? Which region do I need for the U.S.? I mainly want to use the multi-window support and my understanding is that I must use a Samsung rom for that. I believe that was true when I first researched it. Is it still true today?
Thanks!
Maybe I'm being dense but did you also unlock your phone and install a custom recovery (CWM or TWRP?)
If so, you should be able to download a rom for your phone, install and enjoy the fruits of your labors. Look for roms that are based on TouchWiz and you should retain the samsung features you want. AOSP roms are base android and will not have those samsung customizations.
I don't know what "region" has to do with it though, just pick a rom that's compatible with N-7100

Thanks for the response, TrojanDroid. If region doesn't matter and I can install any TouchWiz based rom then that makes me very happy. I've used mods on other phones in the past and never had to worry about region.
Yes, I used the toolkit to install TWRP, Busybox, and Root the phone. The reason I asked about region is because I figured the easiest way to upgrade to 4.1.2 or higher would be to flash the newer stock rom. This is the webpage with an extremely large list of stock roms that the tool left me with though, which is where my question came from: http samsung-updates .com /device/ ?id=GT-N7100 (I can't post links yet)
I use the Samsung Multi Window and S-Pen features often. Is it accurate to say that as long as a rom is TouchWiz based, I will still be able to fully take advantage of those features?
You should update to any latest rom, bcoz 4.1.1 having sudden death bug and your device can be brick suddenly without a reason.
Anyway 4.1.2 stock rom itself having Multiwindow but to use any application in Multiwindow you will need to have moved version.
You can achieve it with xposed module (is simply needs rooted device +two simple apk to install)
Now what I recommend
1.You already have rooted device with cwm then make efs backup (can use Multitool from my signature for that)
2 . update latest rom (like mg1 is good in my point of view) with odin.
3.again you can use Multitool to root device.
4 . find xposed module and framework for Multiwindow mod to use any application in mw
OR
Find AnyMod from my signature and enjoy many extra features on your stock rom.
Goodluck

Thanks for the input. I have now successfully installed Thunder Lite and it seems to fit my requirements. I may investigate and play around with a few other roms in the future as well, since now I know that any Samsung based rom should work for me.
Thanks!
