Hey, is it possible for the Diamond to run dual ROMS(eg. having two ROMS on your phone and choosing one to boot, like a pc having two operating systems)?
Cheers,
scruffy_joe
nope... limited ROM/RAM
Maby two Lite versions of a cooked ROM?
Just curious what would be the benefit of running dual ROMs?

maybe for branded phones? easier to switch back to the original stock firmware without flashing it back for warranty reasons...
can't really see a porpouse for anything else here..
Maybe have one stable rom and a beta rom for testing
If dualboot was possible, I'd have my favourite cooked ROM and a linux version to fiddle around till it works someday
Question? Is it possible to add my location on the home screen in stock rom,win mo 6.1.(TF3D)
Or is it possible to upgrade manila to newer version on existing one in stock rom.
Thanks.
No, sorry. You'll have to flash a rom with a newer version of manila.
I rooted my device only so I can add Hebrew support, but unfortunately I only managed to get Hebrew with an old ROM which doesn't support multi-touch
How can I add the Hebrew fonts (found here*: romraid.com/paul/bravo/r1-hebrew-desire-signed.zip) to the stock ROM or a custom ROM (like MoDaCo)?
Any help is appreciated...
* The forum wouldn't let me post the full link just add three w's in the beginning....
Are there no tutorials for making custom ROMs?
If you have an Ad-Free MoDaCo account you can cook your own MCRr3 ROM with Hebrew in it
The problem is I don't want to use the MoDaCo ROM, simply because I don't need all the features in it.. I just need Hebrew
Also the FM radio doesn't work in MoDaCo as far as I know so that's kind of a turn off
Thanks
Never use the radio - it's a phone!!!
You can just take out all the things you don't want - I don't use any of the MoDaCo bits tbh, but I also add in newer version of apps (Facebook, Twitter, etc) so I have it how I want it.
Other than that you'd just have to use a rooted stock ROM and add the update ZIP into it seperately

Do you know where I can get a rooted stock ROM with latest version?
I'd like to know which files do I need to install the stock vanilla android contacts and dailer apps on a rooted 2.2 sense ROM?
I see there are some ROMs out there that do have SENSE + the stock contacts and dailer.

The only problem is the sort by Last name and seach function are not working. (BTW there is no sence rom, what is can do that)
I've just bought a used Ace 2 which has come with:
GT I8160 (im in the UK)
android v 2.3.6
baseband - I8160XXLL2
2.6.35.7-1218501
build number gingerbread.XXLL2
The threads about flashing a custom ROM have 100+ pages and a lot of links are out of date. I wanted to try a custom ROM, eg CM 10.2 but I have a couple of questions.
I just want to be able to use modern apps, eg Tom Tom app. Google maps, Chrome, and I need to be able to use the phone in different countries, eg France, Portugal, Croatia. The current 2.3.6 is not compatible with some new apps so I need to upgrade.
Should I just update to the Jellybean Samsung provide via Kies?
Should I update to a custom ROM eg CM 10.2 ( i think this may be a stable release), if so will this be stable and have less bugs than the stock ROM?
Should I upgrade to samsung Jellybean and then root and remove bloatware?
I would like to try CM but I think it might not be as stable as the stock ROM, is that correct? Also there are questions as to the process and correct files I will need but I will ask that later if needed.
Thanks!

I think you should try it yourself. For my needs, I can't live with stock anymore lol. With my needs, I multitask a lot, needs speed and stability and so far I'm quite satisfied with CM11 built by ace2nutzer with his kernel or ChronoMonochrome's kernel.
For another option, I also like liquid smooth, but I kinda missed some features from CM (kinda forget what was that).
By this time, we already have everything that we could use from stock with alternatives, and some better. But again, try it yourself to know which suits your needs.

Ok, cool. I guess I can revert back to stock if I dont like it.
So I guess I just use the ROM from this link with the latest build date?
http ://xda.mister-freeze.eu/XDA-files/ace2nutzer/Kernel/
which is ace2nutzer.kernel.4.4.x_20150620_codina.p.l.zip
Just built 2 days ago, 20th June 2015?
Also what gapps do I need?
Thanks!

Nope. That's the kernel only. For the ROM, follow this link: http://xda.mister-freeze.eu/XDA-files/ace2nutzer/CM11/codina/cm-11-20150610-UNOFFICIAL-codina.zip
GApps: http://d-h.st/hrsq
After flashing the ROM, you could flash the kernel with the link you found.
That is really helpful, I would have never found the right files on my own
...
decided to start another thread about problems I'm having.

Try it. Then you'll know whether it is stable or not.
Anyway, so far no one has got serious issues.
Yes, ROM first, then kernel. That is assuming you are at least from stock Jb or any other custom kk or lp roms

Download CM11 by Chrono and ace2nutzer. Choose better one for Your phone, You know, ROMs works different on each phone.
Nabazgrał to Nexus⁴.
Thank you all, you are the best!
Have you managed to get WIFI working?
