just uninstalled some apps and now my desire keeps restarting the sense saying "the application HTC sense (process com.htc.launcher) has stopped unexpectadley.please try again. phone is now useless even using an app killer on sense it just restarts and round in circles i go. now unable to use any function of the phone has any one encountered this and can help?
same here
did you manage to find a solution to the problem ?
reinstalling all the removed application hasn't changed a thingh - keeps crashing
I tought the problem might have been with either some LCOALE plug-in that where still in some profiles o Beautiful Widget that where still on some screen but reinstalling them makes no difference
Hard reset is the only option i can see at the moment
I've encountered his yesterday when I tried to switch to another Scene.
Anyway, I found a way around this without having to hard reset.
Everytime you see the force close button, tap it. But all the while, spam the hardware search key until the search bar shows up. Type the first few letters for "Applications". You should be able to access the Applications settings menu. Go into "Manage applications". Go into "HTC Sense" and tap "Clear data". This will erase all your Scenes but it's better than doing a hard reset.
thanks ohyeahar your suggestion was very helpfull
I got to the applications but "manage application" would force close as well - so I searched for settings and was able to get to "Personalize" and "Change the Scenes" to the "Clean State" (probably any othe default scene would have worked as well) and stopping the FC loop -
that leades me to belive the problem was probably caused by beautiful widged being uninstalled (it was my clock)
The easiest solution to this type of problem is to go into safe mode.
Power down the device, and then power on again whilst holding down Menu, and keep Menu held down until the device is fully booted.
You will now be in safe mode (it will say safe mode in the bottom left corner), which prevents all 3rd party apps and widgets from running.
You can then uninstall/delete or whatever.
Regards,
Dave
Thanks Dave was not aware of that possibility and I'm sure it'll be usefull in the future

FC again
well I'm having the same problem again ....
I probably got a bit over confident knowing that a safe mode existed and tried to switch to a saved screen configuration that still included the BW clock and the loop started all over again but now - even after deleting all the custom scenes - even choosing the clean slate scene doesn't help
if I go in SafeMode it still FC the sense UI and reboots the device.....
and "Manage Application" was FC even before when everything also was working
I feel like I'm back using WinMobile phones :-(
even after killing all the running processes it still do the same FC loop - I'll guess there are no other option but to HR
what will I lose by doing-it? and what is the best procedure to use?
thanks
Try this site myhtcdesire.com/tutorials as it has details for fixing the problem.
thanks for the link chesterdob but that solution was already posted by ohyeahar (look at post #3) and in my case doesn't work becouse "manage applications" causes a FC of it's own
how can I make a Hard Reset in this situation ?

Hi everyone,
I have a rather sticky problem. A few hours ago I decided to disable a few of the services that I wasn't using on my phone in the hope of some more free memory and battery saving. The services where things like Stocks (including it's widgets and tools), weather, some pre-installed apps like Sound hound and a few others. As far as I could tell none were critical system services. After finishing I rebooted my phone to check the outcome....and it was not pretty....
Phone boots and everything seems to be loading fine (interface, startup apps, notifications), but my desktop is blank, none of the three soft buttons work and the only thing that works is the power button (to reboot). ah, actually the main menu (sliding from top) works, it slides down but whatever I select from it, the menu closes and nothing would happen. I assume I disabled a service that was in dependency with HTC Sense service and now that service is failing to load...?, correct me if I'm wrong.
At this point I have no clue as to what to do except to try to see if I can root the phone again, any ideas on how I can fix this without rooting the phone?
(I have no backup, no version info...nothing..., I wasn't expecting anything like this to happen while messing with non-critical app services so I did not go through the "backing up everything" procedure... sadly... )
I am getting this error message essentially making the phone useless. I got notification I had an update on Friday. It auto updated, I installed it, it rebooted, and this message continuously pops up and I cant use anything. Factory reset did nothing, and the only semi work around is I was able to get Nova Launcher on there. It semi works but the message comes up every time I lock and unlock the phone.
Nobody seems to know the answer to what the hell this is or what happened but I need someone who is smarter than I to help me fix it please. Any advice is very much appreciated. Phone is unrooted.
Thanks in advance.
Go to setting, General, Apps, All Apps, and fine "Home". Clear cache and reboot.

tried that, it didn't seem to work. Is there something I'm missing? Do certain apps cause this?
Having the same issue right after updating to 6.0; clearing cache didn't work for me either. I suppose I'll try a different launcher in the meanwhile.
"Unfortunately, Home has stopped
I am now rooted using the video instructions from ROOT JUNKY, but I am getting this error message "Unfortunately, Home has stopped" I went to the Apps setting and resets app preference and also clear the home cache but to no effect. i am able to get the simple home setting but not the other advance home setting. please help if you can. Thanks inadvance
LG G4 H815
Problem solved for Lg G4. Go to Settings, General, Apps swipe left to "All" then scroll down to "HOME" not easy home. Open it and clear cache and also "clear data" you will get a warning message when you try to clear data, but that's ok. I was afraid to do this but it works for me, It will only clear and Home screen preference or shortcut you had. You can setup your preferred shortcuts after again. restart and select "Home" as your default. Let me know if this helps
Think not.. Still home crashes
Nope, that's not a fix. All it did was wreck my app placements and settings.. Nothing else. Immediately after clearing the cache and data it crashed exactly the same way.
Home has stopped is becoming increasingly annoying, and also increasing in frequency. I'm going to try Uninstalling the app update that started it all: Voice Mate 4.70.10.
I'll see if this works. If so I'll post here. If not, consider this an open thread and hopefully someone in the G4 community with some skills and knowledge will find a solution.
Anyone found a solution to this problem?
Unfortunately home has stopped!!!!!!!!!

If you have an LG G4 you may have seen this message and waited for the home screen to re-start again, only to happen again and again, I’ve searched all the forums to no avail, so I installed another home screen to got rid of the problem, now have a permanent fix, you have to disable Smart Bulletins:
Go to apps, hit menu, select home screen settings, turn off Smart Bulletins.
So 6.0 shows up unexpectedly and at first blush I'm pretty excited. Unfortunately, that buzz was quicky killed when the upgrade caused all kinds of unexpected issues. For example, I simply could not get Wifi calling to activate which ultimately led to a factory reset. After months of finally getting my G4 to run perfectly it was like starting over again. 6.0 might be good for the developers and Google, but I'm not so sure it does much for the user.
Anyway, one issue I have not been able to solve is removing/changing the shortcut application icons from the lockscreen. Before 6.0 all you had to do was go to Settings > Display > Lock Screen > Shortcuts. That setting is no longer present!!?? Any ideas?
never mind!!
the issue is solved by first turning off any lockscreen security (you can use swipe effect only). Once you do this the device then provides the 'shortcut' option described above. Apparently, this isn't a 6.0 issue but something other users of the G4 have faced in the past. The 6.0 upgrade just created a bunch of shortcuts and I had no idea how to remove them!
Any other reported issues?

I know for me, QuickMemo+ FCs on every boot and toggling between apps. I cleared cache, but no luck. I then did another factory reset, but still on every boot get an annoying pop up saying QuickMemo+ has stopped. Seems to happen much less on a different launcher, but still pops up a few times a day. Performing another clean wipe and re-install using the upgrade assistant. Will report back later on the progress.
Hello there,
I am posting this thread with a problem. Roughly a year ago I purchased the HTC M9 (after 2 very satisfied years using the M7). Up untill about a week ago everything was working fine for me, the only small issue I've had so far is the lack of memory space. Although this issue was easily solved by simply upgrading my device using a Sandisk SD card.
However, since a couple of days my device started overheating very quickly and lagging. Again, I tried to fix this by rebooting the phone and using CCleaner to clean up some of the junk on the device. Now here comes the actual problem: this morning I was simply using the Youtube app to watch a video when my device suddenly crashed (with 50% battery life). I plugged my phone into a charger and booted up the device again but I get a an error report saying "Sense Home stopped working", which means I'm currently unable to use my device. For some reason the HTC report function is bugged aswell, as I cannot seem to send an error report to HTC.
Can anybody tell me what is going on here and how I could solve this problem? I'm very dependent on my phone because of university and work and would like to fix this as soon as possible and preferably not with a hard reset.
Thanks in advance.
Okay I went ahead and tried out something myself based on the following on a thread on androidcentral com titled ""Unfortunately, HTC Sense has stopped" loop" (I'm not allowed to post links yet)
So I went to Apps and cleared the cache of the Sense Home app (without being in safe mode). My phone started working again, but I lost alot of information as apps like Whatsapp and Google Chrome are completely reset and I lost my contacts. Is there any way I can fix this process?
I cleared my cache but my device is still keeping me in that damned Loop. I don't want to lose my pictures or videos. What else can I do? I have an HTC One M9.

"Boot the phone as per normal, ignore the "Sense Home has stopped" message for now.
Pull down the notification drawer,
Tap on the cog to get into settings (once in settings clicking ok on the "Sense home has stopped" message should make it dissapear so you can see what you are doing),
Go into Apps,
Go into Sense Home,
Tap on storage,
Tap on "Clear Data".
This will delete all the data stored with the Sense Home app, not your photos or messages of contacts or anything like that.
You will have to re-configure your home screen(s) though :-/
Once you've done that you should be good to go.....You may need to reboot."
I have the same problem which started at the same time.
Tried everything, clearing Sense cache, system cache from recovery, installed custom recovery and Revolution HD rom its all the same... Everytime after few minutes or hours same problem occurs! Loop Sense crashing, rebooting, wifi turning on and off by itself...
Please someone help
Hi guys, I had the same problem just two weeks ago. Tried cache clearing, factory reset, yada yada yada. Despite all the error report pop ups I managed to use Google app to get to play store, and updated sense home from there. That did the trick. I lost all my contacts and apps but still the phone works again.

Thanks, great solution, apps and everything still there - I was so worried. For me this problem was a show stopper, do I even consider getting another HTC phone?? Why can't HTC modify Home Sense to disable the alert, once initiated, when the battery is fully charged, then this very annoying, irritating and phone disabling problem would just go away?
Hi all
I have updated to Android 10 two days ago, and this was a bad idea to hit that update button.
First of all - I can save files to Downloads folder only by using build in miui browser, all other browsers (i checked Chrome, Brave, MS Edge) can save files to /Android/data/<package_name>, and Brave browser even can't save files, because it shows message, that "SD card storage is unavailable". It looks like third party browsers don't have access to storage, but after installing them I have granted access to memory.
Second thing is - because of problem with saving, I tried to factory reset, and after that reset many of apps was changed to worse: home screen had option to change from "standard" to "app drawer mode" but now it's only "app drawer mode" and there is no switch of this, and there is a switch for standard mode that turns on "search by swipe up" and it's turned on, but nothing is happening because of app drawer. Build in browser before reset had new "dark mode" and now it's gone. And also first issue is still in place.
Need to mention, that It's Global version, with locked bootloader - so it's not problem with any root or modifications of system.
Do any one have same issues? Or some solution for this?
Because first issue with saving from browser is for me not acceptable, and I need to fix it somehow.
