In less than 24 hours, MS will release Official version WM6.5.what do you expect the latest official version?Which series,230XX、218XX or 234XX,will be the luck dog?
And Diamond-1 doesnt have official version WM6.5 ROM.We will ask some guys to cook "delicious" rom^_^
WM 6.5 RTMed back in May... between then and now device manufacturers like HTC have been adding their software and customisations and getting it to work on their devices. What's happening tomorrow is the launch of the new devices and of Marketplace, not the release of the new version. There are already far newer builds of 6.5 here on XDA than the one you will get if you buy a new phone tomorrow.
Dunno about build no but Hopefully, Tellme will be present!

Hi. Supposedly we'll get a Windows Mobile 6.5 upgrade with these phones (ordering mine today but will take a week to get here )
Now, HTC have Manila (Touch Flo) 2.5 and 2.6 in the works as well. Do you think that they'll include the new Manila in their official ROM upgrades?
Now I know HSPL is available. I'm just curious as to whether HTC will be benevolent in this respect as it is good for those who are leery of flashing and I am also guessing that it'd be good if there were customized manilas specifically for our devices for the cooks to play with.
So come on. Let's hear your opinions and Wild Conspiracy theories
I would hope so but if they don't then who cares we'll just get it from here XD.
Windows Mobile 6.5 phones officially to be released on October 6th!! If you're thinking what I'm thinking, maybe the rumor of an October release of the TP2 on at&t is true. If so, this explains why at&t has been slow to release this phone. As suggested by some on this forum, they were waiting for the official release of 6.5. Click here to read more.
Yeah it definitely seems AT&T was waiting to launch it with 6.5. That's good for the average user who probably never realizes they can update their phone or how to do that. But of course, frustrating for those of us who would have put a custom rom with 6.5 on it anyway
htc leo will be release on October
Good now the chefs can cook whatever build is released.
I think the focus is really on the hardware coming out, there is nothing spectacular about 6.5. Come to think about it, 6.5 has been floating around XDA in all forms since last year. Talk about a lack of innovation.

I think the main focus for MS is competing with Apple to put out a product that is finger friendly and contains an app store. For those of us who have been using 6.5 already for a few months the main focus is on the hardware and whether or not the TP2 will be included in that 10/6 release date. I could care less about 6.5.
Ive heard its out (officially) and ive been seeing themes and such for it. Should we be upgrading our TP2? I know were suppose to get a free upgrade from 6.1, but not sure how i would get that. Ive tried to update though Windows Update on my device, but it never can get a connection (weird)
Where have you heard it's officially released? Last I heard it was early next month.
There are leaked copies around and the chefs are cooking 6.5 ROMs. I'd expect the official (free) upgrade to go up on the HTC site some days / weeks after the official release, when the carriers will release their versions is down to them

6.5 is going to be released officially on October 6th. When the carriers release their own version, it will most definitely be after that date. Also, Microsoft has not once used Windows update for WM, and they won't use it to upgrade you from 6.1.

so its pretty pointless to even check for updates on that hua.. fair enough.. and i didnt think they would send 6.5 though the update, just thought id check.
And it was porly the leaked roms i found stuff on.
Ahh yea,, Oct6. missed the date on it.
Windows Mobile 6.5 and Marketplace Available Oct 6
It's also been stated that HTC plans on releasing their update on that same date. Meaning that you can upgrade your unlocked/unbranded phone then. One of the advantages of not having waited for the local carriers to release their version. You don't have to wait for them to release their update either

Any links where HTC has mentioned it that they intend to release it on 6th oct for everyone? i am really looking forward for it
Anyone here have a 6.5 ROM that can compare differences with 6.1? I've used 6.5 briefly on a Tilt and I'm not really seeing the benefit besides the bigger icons. TouchFlo with 6.1 on my TP2 seems to be fine to me. 6.5 seems to be a little cumbersom. What's the real benefit of 6.5 anyway? I think I'll skip and wait for 7.
This is what I found on the official Microsoft website:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/devices/details.mspx?id=693
The specs say that the Rhodium runs Windows Mobile 6.1; Professional
Perhaps because 6.5 is not officially released yet?
Correct and correct WM6.5 is not released until 6/10 officially. HTC will release a free upgrade to 6.5 in due course, carriers may take a little while longer to release their upgrades.
If you are impatient there are many people running cooked 6.5 ROMS with success, check out the ROM dev section.

Of course is not launched yet
Google it please!
this is what i found :|

my acer laptop has Windows VISTA!!! :|
Perhaps because windows 7 is not officially released yet?

no just kidding, is kind of stupid to make a topic about this.. everyone knows this.
As the subject line says: do we know if HTC intends to release an upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.5.1 when it eventually ships? And, if so, any idea of a timetable?
(And no, I am not interested in installing a "cooked" ROM to get it).
I don't know. But I don't care either as I don't like the large buttons that they put in the bottom task bar. To me the best combination is WM6.5 + Manila 2.1 + HTC twitter tab (the one in Manila 2.5).
I don't think anyone outside MS knows anything about 6.5.1 updates, distribution plants, etc. Considering 6.5 came out a month ago, yet was months in the making (first ROM I used was in May, leaked screenshots much earlier than that) you're gonna have to give 6.5.1 some time. You've got to at least wait for MS to acknowledge it in press releases before you should expect official upgrades. I'm hoping they'll elaborate on 6.5.1 by/on CES, but I'm not sure about actual dates.
I highly doubt MS will officially release WinMo 6.5.1. They're probably just testing ideas for WinMo 7. I personally can't wait for WinMo 7 and sincerely hope it's kick-ass...
