Just got a SIM unlock code for my VZW TP2. GSM works great on ATT (except the obvious - no 3G)
Found the weirdest thing though - if you go to GSM Phone Settings there is no "Call Forwarding" setting. I had to put the SIm back into my Blackberry to unforward calls.
Anyway to add this via Registry? Any Ideas?

Hi there,
I have been having a very weird issue with my phone lately, I originally put a Simcard in my S3 and it happened to bend the Simcard reader pins. After purchasing a new model of the Simcard tray and getting it installed by a professional (OEM Part) It does not read my Simcard, instead it gives me a notifcation "Emergency Calls only" When putting the same Simcard into another same model (Samsung Galaxy s3 i747) It picks up a signal automatically. However, what is the weird issue is... When putting a bell/virgin simcard into my current phone it picks up a signal (Able to pickup calls & Send Messages) How can this be?
PS. I am almost certain this phone is Unlocked.
Thanks for your contributions.

Check the APN settings and make sure they are set to your carrier.

Could this be the actual issue? Since I am using the "PETRO CANADA MOBILITY" Sim/Network, And it does run/associated on the "Rogers Wireless Network" When booting up my phone it does detect a "Petro Canada Mobility" network in the phone menu after searching. However when pressing on it, it fails by saying "No Service Detected" Then quickly re-searches and hooks up to "ROGERS WIRELESS" (Also Gives me 4G DATA connection) Rogers - which is the factory setting APN setting. However, when placing a call it tells "Mobile Network Unavailable" why does this seem not to be the case when I put in a Virgin Mobile sim or Bell Mobility simcard?
I will try to change the APN hopefully this well effect the outcome. :good:
Ok, and advice appreciated.
Have just put a SIM in the second slot in my G5. Am running a Vaya SIM (voice, data, sms) in the actual primary slot and a Telstra (voice only) in the second slot.
If i select the Vaya as primary SIM for all three (voice, data sms) in settings it works fine.
But using an app (Dual SIM Selector) to select what SIM on a call by call basis, it wont send or receive calls on the Telstra SIM and tells me mobile network unavailable for voice calls.
If i go to settings, and set the Telstra SIM as primary for voice, data and sms (needs to be set for all 3 regardless no data plan on that SIM) then i can make and receive calls from the Telstra SIM no probs.
So both SIMS are active, and both SIM slots work with a 3 or 4G card. Have swapped SIM cards in the slots and all as above. SIM cards are good and slots both work.
What i was hoping for with a dual SIM phone was for the Vaya SIM to be active for making / receiving calls, SMS and data as normal, but for the Telstra SIM to be "listening" , be able to receive calls , and make calls when selected on a call by call basis.
Now,being in Australia and having had the 2G network shut down late last year (3 and 4G only now) i am wondering if that has something to do with this??
Anyhow, wondering if there is anyone out there who knowing more about this dual sim thing than i has any ideas??
Hmmm........did some checking and think my problem with the dual sim thing is due to the 2G network on telstra and optus being shut down.
Seems under the software on the G5, whichever SIM card that is NOT set to handle mobile data, tries to default to 2G as preferred network (under Settings / More / Mobile networks) and the "Preferred network type" button is greyed out and inactive.
Of course no 2G network when you try and make a call it tells you no network available. Sadness.
So, unless Motorola come up with a fix, or deal with this in their next update for Australian phones, i think i'm stuck on switching between SIMS, and NOT having the second SIM able to listen out and receive calls, which even if both SIMs share a radio seems a no-brainer capability to have to me. Have sent a begging email to Motorola asking if they have a fix / workaround and would they consider thinking about this for next update? Pretty much all i can do, although if there are other Australian users with similar issue wouldn't hurt for them to contact Motorola support as well??
Anyone know how to set up a "shortcut" direct to the SIM config page in settings?? App or widget for that??
Am hearing on the G5 Whirlpool thread that there is an update / fix in the works and maybe on the way from Motorola to deal with the dual sim issue (defaulting to 2G) on the Australian G5.
Got the below from Motorola support today. So, fix is on the way.
Good day!

Hello Folks,
I have an unlocked (SIM) Moto Z2 Force from AT&T that I am using on Freedom mobile in Canada. All the radios frequencies align between the carriers.
Data works perfectly.
Text messaging works perfectly.
BUT I cannot make or receive calls.
If I dial, I get no dialing tones outbound. (NO RINGING)
The phone will not accept *#*#4636#*#* so I cannot fiddle with any of these settings.
Thoughts or directions? Anything would help.
CE
Can you make calls over 2G or 3G? By default VoLTE is enabled.
i found there is no voice call, when i chose LTE only in *#*#4636#*#* , unless LTE/WCDMA is selected
Interesting.

I've tried to access *#*#4636#*#* many many times -- it does not work.
I will try to force it to LTE/WCDMA to see if this works.
I unlocked my VZW g6 play by entering code in settings section to unlock phone (did not insert AT&T sim and wait for code request). It said code accepted but when I put in my AT&T sim I can't connect to their LTE network. It reads the sim, switches to global (gsm), and my network says AT&T with the proper phone number for that sim... But no 4g. I tried inputting the APN settings I found on several sites.. No luck. Same when I copied the APN settings from another AT&T prepaid phone I had available. No go. I called and asked for the APN settings from AT&T and they said I need to change the IMEI number on my sim to that of my g6. They said they did that for me. After power cycling the phone as instructed I still have no data service. Anybody have an idea what settings I need to use in order to use my AT&T sim? Or is that even my problem?
I have a pixel 3xl, up to date stock non rooted, on straight talk lte/cdma Verizon network. I got a text saying straight talk now has VoLTE so I tried to find it in settings but there's no option for it. When I search it it comes up but when I click it it goes to mobile settings and it's not there I did the *#*#4636#*#* and it's also grayed out there. I changed the network mode in that diag screen to lte/cdma to see if that helped, was on global before i think. Still no VoLTE and for some reason I can't make calls. I have data, can send and receive texts but when I go to call it says no network. Removed Sim card didn't fix it, restarted it. Safe mode doesn't help either. Tired clicking trigger carrier provisioning, updated the smsc. Change mobile network to lte only, back to global, lte/cdma. I have no idea what else to try. Straight talk is basically useless for customer service so I haven't even tried yet lol.
Update!! It works!! Somehow I either damaged my sim card when I switch from my pixel 2xl to this 3xl and it somehow lasted till now. Or when I changed my network settings something wrote to the sim?( And it messed it up?? IDK much about how the phone and sim interact with each other)... But I did have a 2 year old sim card, it did not have VoLTE or wifi calling capabilities I now realize. So I bought a new SIM card at Walmart and activated it though the straight talk app on my account and kept the same number. Works perfectly and I now have VoLTE, no wifi calling yet but the option is now there and lets me click it but it fails. Doesn't matter to me, I'm just happy to have VoLTE. I'm leaving this post because straight has horrible customer service and I could find anyone who ran into this specific issue.
