Hi all, I usually have my s621 set to vibrate and ring, just rescently ive noticed it isn't vibrating. I change the profile to vibrate only, and when I get a call or text, the screen lights up, but it still doesn't vibrate. I've only had it for like a month and a half. Any ideas, or ways to test it? Has anyone else had this happen with an htc dash, or any htc device really???
well i did a soft reset and the vibrate function seems to be working now. My s621 will live to see another day

Funny what a soft-reset can do, the IT crowd say it all the time "Turn it off & back on again"

It's true what you say, whenever my phone acts up, I'll soft reset or I just turn it off for a couple of minutes and its back to running great.
Whenever my phone powers on, if I press any button it will automatically shutdown.
This started happening when I flashed Ricky's V24 Vanilla and continues to do so now with Kavana's Final 080408. Before I flashed Ricky's I had his 1.7 Rose, and before that was an older version of Kavana's. I have tried reflashing on both ROMs and Hard Resets.
Battery is brand new and fully charged. I am using jockeyw2001's modified bootloader if that helps.
THIS IS REALLLLLLY FRUSTRATING
Any ideas/help?

Flash back to an original rom, and follow with a hard reset?
Trying that right now, thanks.
Just flashed an original ROM and I still have the same issue. :/
It seems if I hold a button while it's booting up I don't have the problem. Also, sometimes when I just let it sit for a minute or two before I play with it I don't have a problem.
I guess it's a hardware issue?

Stylez has one, but don't trust him, he's a sneaky one
When I bought my refurb'd Dash, I had the same problem using T-Mobile's Windows 6.0 ROM. The only way I could prevent having it shut down was to wait 30 seconds to let the screen turn off after booting up. I was then able to use it, but the power button and camera didn't work. I returned it and exchanged it for another and never had the problem since.
Hi all,
I tried doing a search on this before posting this thread. No luck. I just got my TP2 on sunday. I let it charge and flashed HardSPL and a few roms. I noticed my phone would turn completely off when I open and close the screen. At first, I thought it was the display turning off to save power, but the phone is actually turning completely off and I need to hit the power button and boot it back up again. Is this a setting I need to change? Or could there be something wrong with my phone? I also tried going back to the stock rom to eliminate that as a cause and the same thing happens.
Any help is appreciated.
I have posted an almost similar question here with no reply.

Not sure what the problem is. In my case the solution is not to close the keyboard when OneNote Mobile is still open!
My colleague is having the same prob, from what he is experiencing, i would suggest a hardware fault, probably just a loose ribbon cable... but best send it back to HTC to avoid voiding your warranty

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I was hoping to avoid having to send it back, but i might as well.

Hi,
I had this issue to and send the phone in for repair. The said that it was a problem with the mainboard - replaced it and send it back. It now works perfect.
REMEMBER!!! If you want to send the TP2 in for repair you must reflash the SPL back to the original one, I think it is 0.79.0000 (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550131 for how to restore to the original HardSPL)
discoverd the same issue, happened to me about a week ago for a few times, when i slide in/out the keyboard. It just habbend about 4 times, but didn't happend again since this time ... i will have a eye on it...
Same here. The screen turns off completely but the phone actually works and I can receive or place calls. Called the HTC support and they advised to try if a hard reset will fix it before sending the phone in. The tricky part here is that this issue can not be recreated easy in their service as it happens randomly with me (sometimes it works fine for days). I am still trying to find out what causes this issue on first place. I think it started right after I installed IGO 8 and changed some power settings in the ini file but it kept doing this after I removed it. I also tried to disable the light sensor (the one that turns the screen off when you place the handset to your ear during a call) because it looks exactly like this - screen turns off but the phone works. So, I will give it another week and I will try the hard reset.
What roms do you guys have this issue with? I am using the stock T-Mobile US with HardSPL.

Sorry, forgot to update this thread. I ended up getting a replacement from TMO. I am much happier now that my phone doesn't turn off whenever I close the screen. Get a replacement while you can and ask them nicely if they can overnight it to you. I did.
Actually, this was a software problem in my case - I did the hard reset 2 weeks ago and since then I have not experienced the issue. I am going to start installing my previous programs one by one to find out what caused the problem.
Same
I have the same problem,
The hard reset solve the problem?

I know this might sound weird but I had the vibration in my EVO start to get weaker and then stop altogether. Turns out the little spinning vibrating motor got jammed.
I fixed it by standing on my bed, holding my phone parallel to the ground, screen facing the ceiling and dropping it from about 3 feet onto a pillow. The jolt kick-started my haptic feedback back to life! Test it by holding the Vol Down button until your phone enters vibrate-only mode.
Hope that does it!

This is my first post and I hope to be putting it in the right place.
I had a problem with my Lumia 900. After trying to update the firmware and not be successful, a dialog appeared asking if I wanted to format a device, by mistake I clicked "yes". after that, my phone did not turn on anymore.
I have looked everywhere but it seems that nobody else has had this problem.
My phone does not work anymore, it was my fault, I know.
I have tried everything and nothing seems to work. I hope you can guide me on what I can do.
Greetings and thanks in advance.

When the update completed/failed...how much battery did you have? and when you try to turn on the phone...how far does it get? white screen? Nokia logo? ...if you don't even get the power on vibrate ...plug your phone in the power for a few minutes (5-20) and unplug..try to turn on phone again...once you see the Nokia logo...plug in the power again. I suspect a power/battery related problem but I am not sure...give it a shot.

Thanks for answer me.
When the problem occurred battery was almost complete.
When I try to turn on the phone nothing happens, does not vibrate or turn on the screen.
I read somewhere that I should not have formatted the drive that appeared when I wanted to try to flash phone, but unfortunately I read it too late.
If you need to know more, just tell me. I hope you can help me to recover my phone.
Thank you.
I am guessing you didn't update with Zune then? To me format says it all, I think you have wiped the drive completely, Maybe a good read of this may help. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1605144 :fingers-crossed:

There is nothing you can do except send the Phone to Nokia.
Your Lumia 900 seems to be one of the lucky few to have a qualcomm bootloader, Which you have just wiped by formatting it. Without the bootloader the phone is essentially a brick.
You cannot recover this without sending the phone to your nearest Nokia Service Center.

As I understood, You tried out to flash your lum in DEAD MODE, right? If so, the only ways are to flash it with special programmer via tech socket or send it to Nokia.
I used the nokia care suite but have not found the option "dead mode".
It just does not appear. I only see the option to update the phone.
Hi there, Lumia 900 its an amazing phone l, used to have iOS and been and Android User which is a pain in the ass crashy, there aren't plenty apps but the ones out there are really good, the design on this phone its incredible and feels so good
Audio quality its amazing using regular headphones and others Bluetooth its solid for audio
Battery life its incredible! Just like the official page said its all day long battery
The cons, camera photos are not what any Nokia user is expected to be, maybe so update will fix it
Marketplace not so diversified
Can't use the phone with my car audio via USB sighs* having a 1500us$ set in my car and using the regular 3.5mm auxiliar input its a shame
Sent from my Lumia 900 using Board Express
Try to stay on topic please. Nobody asked for a review of the terminal.
