This weekend I was in a foreign country so my device uses roaming.
A very annoying thing was the appears of a dialog which had the following properties:
STK Service (title of the dialog)
Message: Vodafone Partner
Left button: Ok
Right button: Options -> Back and allow
The dialog popped up ever few minutes.
Can somebody tell me:
- What is the STK Service?
- Does we need it?
- Can it be disabled?
STK = Sim Tool Kit, you don't need it.
I have not seen how to disable it, so can't help there.
Every time I put in a new ROM this keep happening to me, I have to go to the register and delete 2 or 3 Regkeys, I search for "STK" in RecoRegistry and then delete the keys, don't delete the keys with the name "tcpipstk" Because they got nothing todo with it. After the delete, do a softreset and the popups will stop displaying...
Just remove the stk_service would be fine:
HKLM\Services\Stk_service
Thank for the quick support.
Where can I find more info about the Sim Toolkit?
Is it usefull for normal use of the device or is it a developer tool?
No it isn't.

Hello.
My first post
Anyway, i serched a bit for a ROM editor/customizer thingie.
I want to build in GPRS/MMS settings and active sync e-mail account settings in to rom.
It this hard to do?
We startet buying some smartphones/ppc to work and i get them on my table first to fire them up with gprs settings and e-mail acount settings and so on.
Is there any easyer way to do this?
Maybe thinking about makeing "ready" ROM's with the settings.
Region choice "language"
GPRS/MMS setting
E-mail account settings
So i put in the USB cable and starting new install of rom and the new rom and all the settings will follow.
try user customization or sashimi
put rom from sdcard install the settings
or coock you own roms
other possibility ??? dont think
Hi All,
I have recently fashed down from JP3 to JP2 to JM5. I am with BT Mobile and it keeps adding me onto Vodafone. When I click on Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > Add. I can only type in settings manually.
I flashed with the following files:
PDA: I9000XWJM5
Phone: I9000XXJM3
CSC: I9000OXXJM1
I was able to choose from a list of providers on the stock ROM and also with JP3 & JP2 and select BT Mobile.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to get these settings automatically as opposed to trying to find all the relevant settings and input them manually?
Thanks in advance
What's BT Mobile?
BT Mobile is a mobile network from British Telecom which is carried over the Vodafone network. It uses it's own GPRS, WAP and MMS settings which are different to Vodafones.
