Hi guys.
I have Intsalled WM6 on my universal do you know how to user Voip Functions?
I wonder about that, too. I have read into the matter a bit and it seems that the test ROM might still be missing an actual sip core? As of now the today plugin just looks like a mask with nothing behind it (unless I am missing some hidden options). It would be great if I could ditch the 3rd party voip solutions as they are totally uncomfortable to use when compared to a native integration.
Me too! I'm dead keen to hook up my Universal with my asterisk PBX. Anyone know any more about the client? It appears to either be absent or just non-configurable atm?
I think it is simply a VoIP through MSN messenger? Hardly a SIP client I know...
If you have MSN Live set up the today plugin allows you to make calls through MSN Live if it is available.
So its still SJPhone for me to hook up to our asterisk server... (works with Midgets ROM BTW)
All the Reviews said that has sip function.
The MSN option would at least be something, but I also think that what was meant is real SIP support as searching through the registry reveals at least a few corresponding entries (sip port for example). My guess is that as the ROM was not finished when it got leaked that the VoIP functions were still not implemented... the reviews didn't show detailed configuration pages for this either if I recall it correctly.
if I remember correctly the msn voip client is a SIP client anyway? it just points at a microsoft sip proxy and only handles uris of other msn voip users (ie, the sip proxy doesn't route outside the msn voip client uri namespace?). I have to admit I have not used it myself tho. I may sign up for msn voip to see if the windows mobile client starts automagically working (its only a tenner or something)
Would be great if someone could test it out to confirm which version is actually true. If the MSN phone function is SIP indeed there should be ways to hack it and use our own services; but that's going into speculations a bit too much for now. I hope to hear your report
MSN SIP for VOIP
I can confirm that Microsoft MSN Messenger uses standard SIP for voice. It's one thing the M$ got right, deciding to use an open, properly implemented standard protocol.
Hi
someone know as use, if is possible, Hermes with WM6 as sms gateway to send massive SMS from PC (ex from Outlook).
tks
Easy way is a third party app called Jeyo Extender.
hi i have imate jasjam, and i downloaded the telstra rom provided by HTC, as that is the only i found available online. all is working great. except one problem. in my mobile outlook, i have 2 different mailboxes for SMS and MMS, where in windows 6, it should be combined, which my other HTC TYTN II has, i tried all the options but cannot see the work around.
so basically problem is that i dont want the MMS option in the poutlook, so when i navigate to multiple mailboxes, i see outlook, windows live, my pop3 account, mms, sms [both seprate instead of combined] which is the the new feature of windows 6 which should have MMS / SMS mailbox combined.
your early help will be appreciated.
please guide me how do i found a work around for the same.

Missing features in Windows Live Mobile <> Window Live Messenger alternatives?
Hi,
Why isn't Windows Mobile Live Messenger not the same as Windows Live Messenger?
A capability of video conferencing would be nice (like webcam or videoconference in Windows Live) or the other usual features (send pictures/voiceclips) but most easy is the direct envelope button to get in your hotmail via a cookie.
What's the latest version by the way and isn't there any official link to a cab or something?
If you know an alternative messenger with the above possibilities let us know!
I tested palringo, with this one I could send pictures and voiceclips...
Thanks,
Innovator
it's different because the device is massively lower spec than a home or office PC and streaming video calls over the mobile network could work out very expensive for the novice users who arent expecting it...plus most devices dont have a front-facing camera yet.
you can set up a favourite in internet explorer for your hotmail to automatically login if you want
alternatively, if you've got a decent data-plan you could set it up to sync "as items arrive" which will automatically update your mobile's hotmail account with your live hotmail account ... so theres no need to log in at all
i dont think you CAN download it separately, it tends to be cooked into the roms and so isnt user-upgradeable....but you might get lucky and find a link if you use the search on this site
isn't there any other program/tool for video conferencing then?
We can always turn our P3300 and look into the cam and turn back to the front screen, better then nothing...
ateksoft's webcam plaus will turn your phone's camera into a webcam, but doesnt have any conference facilities or anything. It will just let your desktop PC use your phone as a webcam (when connected)
dont know of any program to do what you want, but someone else here might
Hello Guys,
is there a way to setup Windows Mobile 6.5 Standard (on a Samsung B7330 Omnia Pro) to NOT mark e-mails as read after opening.
Outlook has this option, but I can't find it in Windows Mobile. I just want to mark them as read manually. Maybe someone know a registry key or a hack for this.
Thanks a lot
Nils
