hi i have imate jasjam, and i downloaded the telstra rom provided by HTC, as that is the only i found available online. all is working great. except one problem. in my mobile outlook, i have 2 different mailboxes for SMS and MMS, where in windows 6, it should be combined, which my other HTC TYTN II has, i tried all the options but cannot see the work around.
so basically problem is that i dont want the MMS option in the poutlook, so when i navigate to multiple mailboxes, i see outlook, windows live, my pop3 account, mms, sms [both seprate instead of combined] which is the the new feature of windows 6 which should have MMS / SMS mailbox combined.
your early help will be appreciated.
please guide me how do i found a work around for the same.

This is a known problem with messaging with cingular. Check the cingular Forum and you will see the fix.
http://forums.cingular.com/cng?category.id=gsmgprs
Basicaly you need to get your orginal phone back and turn it off there to stop the SMS messages.
My wife had the problem and spent 3 days on the phone with Cingular support.
Thanks Jcb..
well after going thru cingular forum looks like the alerts are set in your hotmail account (if you recently have been receiving emails from Hotmail/Live ) about their new services on http://beta.mobile.msn.com
so under hotmail settings there is a tab receive mobile alerts and different options. well there is a bug on that page even if you stop subscribe email alerts on mobile somehow after 2- 3 emails the email notification SMS alerts start again .
so i just saved no alerts and switched back to good old Hotmail so this has nothing to do with Cingular or the other escape route would be to delete the mobile number from Hotmail account and stay with Windows Live .
I really have no idea what the problem is here. I used to be able to send emails fine when I had WM 6.0 installed. I upgraded to 6.1 which automatically found imap settings for Yahoo Mail. This was working fine to send emails until recently.
Now I cannot seem to send emails at all but I can recieve them fine over imap. My phone (T-Mobile Vario II) doesn't seem to want to allow me to set up Yahoo Mail using the POP protocol; it automatically defaults to IMAP and gives me no option. I'm using Pays WM 6.1 ROM (build 3.05) if that makes any difference to anyone.
It's getting very frustrating not being able to send emails when I've just read an urgent one I've received!
Current settings are:
Incoming: imap.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing: smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com (with authentication)
(No SSL on either server)
I don't seem to be able to find the port numbers.
Any help much appreciated!
thats the same settings i have and mine works, double check that the proxy is not enabled if you are using media net.
I had the same issue with CRC's rom. I'm lazy, so here is what I did:
1. Delete the account you created (imap).
2. Create a new account, but on the email field write something like [email protected] ...etc. (i.e. mispell yahoo)
3. Now it will ask you to setup the account manually, i.e. Internet mail, POP3, etc.
I use:
incoming -> pop.mail.yahoo.com:110
outgoing -> smtp.mail.yahoo.com:25 (Required SSL)
Hope this helps.
Many thanks dgaud007,
I hadn't thought of that and so obvious as well. Will be trying that immediately!
im having this same issue since goin to 6.1 on a Dash. Tried the yaho.com suggestion elow but it still won't always send.
Any ideas?

Win Mobile has always auto configured my Yahoo! account to IMAP (which I am pretty happy about anyway)... That said, I'm using a yahoo.co.uk account.. Don't know whether it applies to yahoo.com accounts..
I have tried using the Auto Configure and tried configuring it manually. Still cannot send about half of the time. Very weird because it always worked fine until I went to the 6.1 ROM.

From what I read in one of the Kaiser threads from incognito there was a brief mention of a bug in the 6.1 builds were about 1/2 of the time the logon authorization fails. It has happened to me even on the new 19213 version. I don't know how to fix it at this point (if it's something that can be done after the ROM is cooked). I'm using PAP authentication for now, and so far, haven't seen the issue again.
I'm still having this same issue. Anyone else? Any ideas on how to make Yahoo! outgoing email work with Kavana's 6.1 ROM?

How can I get IMAP working again?
I have recently installed Windows Mobile 6.5 on Kaiser. I was able to access yahoo mail for some time but now I can not both send and receive mails. I have also tried the method incoming -> pop.mail.yahoo.com:110
outgoing -> smtp.mail.yahoo.com:25 (Required SSL) and it is also not working. I have recently installed G-Profile and 3G Dialer may be they have caused the problem.
Hi all,
I have just bought an HTC S620 and have been able to setup Activesync to an exchange server with no issues. I use alot of subfolders under my inbox to filter emails. I am receiving new emails no problem in my inbox and in the subfolders synched happily to my device.
I am only getting new email notifications on my home screen when emails arrive to my inbox. I would like to be able to see email notifications when they arrive in my subfolders.
I have a HTC S620
Running Windows Mobile Standard CE 05.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)
Do I need to tweak a setting or acquire an app?
I had this problem too but how I got round was to delete all of the server filters and use the newer technique of smart folders. Im using OS X and Mail.app, but I think the new Outlook on windows should have smart folders too. With smart folders all of your mail is in the inbox but when you click on a smart folder its like a saved search so for example it can show all of the email from a certain sender.
This also makes it much easier to read email on the phone, because all of the email goes into the inbox you both have the advantage of seeing the new email notification, and you don't need to jump between folders to read it all, which can take many key presses.
You can of course still have regular mail folders for email that can't be automatically sorted.
By the way, general questions like this go in the general smartphone forum
Ah i thought i was beign device specific enough.
Exchange 2003 I am using is for work and they dont use/implement smart folders/
Anyone else have any ideas? i have the same problem, and my comany's mail server also doesnt support "smart folders".
TIA
Hello all, on the stock roms there is a option to have hotmail come under your messages, but using the kichens, i can't seem to install hotmail on my htc touch now
i had to download sprint mobile email
heres download
its the same thing as hotmail that comes with the htc touch
I downloaded and installed Windows Live from Microsoft. There are a few roms out there that are missing this. This will enable you to access hotmail through messaging. Sprint mobile email works also.
Check this article here and look into the comments. There's detailed info. on how to set up Hotmail there without Windows Live.
I use Outlook 2007 fairly intensively and would love a way to be able to set up sms sync between phone and outlook in a similar way to email.
Does anyone know if this is possible?
I don't think this is possible as I would have done it a long time ago.
However, there is a free program which you can download and when you connect your phone via Active Sync, you can see/send/receive text messages from you PC.
It's called Mobile Express made by Efficasoft
Have you tried 'Microsoft My Phone', you can see and sync all your SMS to and from the internet using your live account.
Not realy what you asked for but its along those lines
I use Jeyo mobile extender 2.5
