How to emulate gb/gbc/gba games ? - Touch HD Themes and Apps

Hello,
I want play some pokemons on my HD, so I am seaching for emulator... But I think I tried them all
1.) Pocket gba emulator :
perfectly fast with GBA, but dont have software dpad, so nonplayable
2.) pocketgnuboy:
Perfect software dpad, cant open GBA but GB and GBC works. BUT!!! it laggs like hell ever in GB. non playable, still waiting ...
3.) morphgear
Nice interface, it says it got a virtualpad, but everytime I try to open a file (GB,GBC or GBA) it says :
"MorphGear was unable to open the file. Most often this is due to insufficient memory. The console will now be displayed.

hi i think i can help
hi i had morph gear it needs like plug in am i cant remeber where i got them from but i can look and send u the link i had that same problem but when i got the plug ins the screen was really small so i forgot about it u can go on youtube and see how it works mate

I tried it again and it worked. Strange . Now I can run GB and GBA. When I try GBC, it still got error.
by the way, about your problem = small screen :
You can set your screen to be 150%
And you can make your own virtual pad with big keys too Dont use that default tiny crap.

I also had the problem with the Memory. You had to install (and register if you want) the plugins for Morphgear (GB,GBA,GBC,NES....)
The "MorphModules" costs about 19 $.
MorphGear is great! It works fine with gb/gbc roms. The only thing I miss is a DPad in Lanscape Mode because the screen is bigger in Landscape. (and I can use the volume button better)
You can't have your cake and eat it...
BluetriX

But I have all modules I think... and modul for gb and gbc is the same one i think... I dont have idea why it doesnt work
edit: now everything works

Morphgear Virtual Pad VGA Skin
Here is a VGA virtual pad skin for Morphgear.
Just extract the 2 files to Morphgear's "Skins" folder.
Then go to VGBA settings and choose "Ed Virtual Pad" under Skin.
For "Start" & "Select", you need to map them to the hardware buttons (Volume up & down).

pocket fallout is only qvga!
sadly, there are only a few games that work at full wvga resolution....I've seen one RPG which is called onris(just forgot the name), it seems quite a nice game, but the resolution is only for vga i guess, and most rpg games running at Java platform are also unsuitable for touch hd...is there any tool that can resize java game's resolution?
I've also installed morphgear which is an emulator for NES, gb, gba..etc., but the fps of gba's rpg games that running at morphgear is quite low, especially, when you turn the sound on, you will find the quality is extremely poor..

Thanks for telling me that, I've already got it, and it works for me but as this tool resize the resolution, half of my screen is blank while gaming, that's looks a little bit wierd to me
lynne can you give me a link to this RPG game (onris or something you was saying as you forgot the name lol)..
Also this morphgear Emulator ... does this work with the g-sensor then? or you need the D-Pad program thing

sure, the rpg that I mentioned is: Orions: Legend of Wizards v1.20
you can have it from here: http://pocketmoregames.com/orions.htm
but this is not freeware so u gotta either try it or buy it for full version gaming play
btw, before u try this game, u'd better have wvga fix pre-installed, cos u need change your resolution to vga through it, otherwise u will encounter display problem
on the other hand, regarding to the emulator - Morphgear
it's has modules below:
1, SNES9x MorphModule
Emulates the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).
2, HuGo MorphModule
Emulates the TurboGrafx-16 / PC-Engine.
3, Generator MorphModule
Emulates the SEGA Genesis.
4, Marat Fayzullin MorphModule Package:
Includes MasterGear, VGB, VGBA, iNES (SEGA MasterSystem, GameBoy Color, GameBoy Advance, NES).
you can find it here:
http://www.spicypixel.com/web/page/morphgear/Download.aspx
installation order:
1, morphgear
2, rest of its modules
and also, you need pay for it in order to unlock those modules after the application is installed. (you don't have to install third party application to run game at morphgear)
and this tool allows you to change screen size of your game and many other useful options, but as i said, it's kinda low fps especially when you turned sounds on (gba rpg game - final fantasy 6 tested)
if you ask me how to get most from it, there are many 'suggestions' around the net, that's the only thing that i can say haha

hey, maybe u can try wvga fix, and set the resolution to vga and see if there is any difference?
yeah i tried it and actually works when vga is set, however, you need the stylus to play and besides the very poor english text there are some textured texts in russian no go for me at the moment.
it WORKS anyway.
actually, there are bunches of good RPG games out there if Morphgear is working fine for me, but since the low fps that I've encounterred, I finally gave it up...but I'm just wondering if there is anyone else got the same problem?

Working GBA emulator for WinMo 6.1?

I tried downloading the last updated Pocket GBA and it does not work on my TP2. Don't know if it's just plain outdated or not compatible for 6.1. Does anyone know a good working gameboy advance emulator for the TP2/WinMo 6.1?
No one has a working gba emulator?
bumpppppppp
Anyone? Bump
What version of pocketGBA did you download, keep in minde it wont play GB or GBC games.
You could try running WVGAFix to set a lower resolution.

Sorry, I do not remember the exact version #, but it was the most recent update from Sunbug.net. I realize it only plays GBA games, but the loading the rom isnt the problem, it's just the emulator itself.
bumpppppppppp
PocketGBA works on my phone, PocketGBA rel.060526. Works with out WVGA fix, or should work. Only issues I ran into was getting the screen in the right postion. Its upsidedown and there is no option to rotate it, kind of sucks becuase zelda looked like it was running smooth.
Other then that let me know if you find a fix.
I know there has to be atleast one person that has a working GBA emulator on their Touch Pro 2.
I have a trouch pro 2 with wm 6.1 like I said I have it working however the screen in landscape is wrong and there is no way to change it.
Morphgears gba works great full screen and with keyboard support with KforTp, however its slow as hell in GDI mode.
Look here this is the only emulator that seems to work ok
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=565163
As much as a hate paying for software I might buy this, even if I think it should be free. I might if the creator speeds it up more and makes it run games smooth with sound.
On a side note does any one know how to switch the screen to portrat more while in landscape mode with out sliding the screen. On my mogul it was on the bottom but now there is nothing there because of touch flo.
Any ideas?
pocket gba don't work on my i780..what i can try??
I have Morphgear running in landscape by choosing RawFrameBuffer and using East orientation. Oddly, I use KforTP to map the buttons, but after they're mapped, I don't need to use it anymore.
SNES works great, albiet no sound (enabling sound makes the games unplayably stuttery). GBA games are so slow they are painful to play.
My question is, why did all of this emulation development get dropped four or five years ago? I wish someone would start it up again -- there are a ton of GBA games I'd love to play on the TP2.

Getting Classic FPS games to work on Rhodium

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had managed to get any of the "classic" 3d FPS games to work on the Rhodium/Touch Pro 2. What I'm talking about is stuff like Wallenstein 3D, Quake, Doom, Duke Nukem 3d etc. These have all been ported to windows mobile, but not all seem to work on the Touch Pro2
(By the way, I own the originals of all these games)
I've had limited success. Here are some that I've tried:
Duke Nukem 3d: After some tweaking I got the graphics and sound to work great - full screen, landscape. However, despite a lot of attempts and different configurations I still can't get the keyboard mapping to work properly. Anyone have better luck? If so, I'd love to see your configuration file.
It can be downloaded here:hxxp://forum.ppcgeeks. c0m/showthread.php?t=28704
Wolfenstein 3d: There are at least two versions of this game for windows mobile
hxxp://pocketinsanity. 0rg/web/pocketinsanity/Projects/Wolf3D_for_PocketPC/
hxxp://wolf.pocketmatrix. c0m/
I've tried both and both work to one degree or another, but don't function correctly in landscape mode and have problems with button mapping. They are not full WVGA complaint and thus have the annoying habit of taking up only part of the screen and being improperly aligned.
Any tweaks that could overcome this? It would be very appreciated.
Quake I: hxxp://quake.pocketmatrix. c0m/ Same deal - screen and button mapping problems
Doom: Haven't really tried yet, but I know there are ports out there
Hexen: Installed one of the ports a while ago and had the same problems as quake. Doesn't function correctly for landscape/wvga
Id like to know this as well. Im struggling with the keyboard mapping for duke3d.
How did you get duke 3d to run fullscreen in landscape?
Iva managed to run it fullscreen in portrait(looks awful)
And i managed to run it in landscape when using wvga fix 640*480
It's been a very long time since I've done any work on Quake 1, 2 or Wolf2D. I do have a TP2 now, so maybe I'll dust off the sources and tweak them a bit to address compatibility issues.
Dan East
That would be great!
I figured out how to bind qwerty keys on my tp2.
If you go into the .cfg file for duke and check wich landscape mode your running.
Pro "2" is best on the tp2. Then scroll down in file and check keybindings
for landscape 2, there you can assaign keys. Worked for me. Just that
I dont know what all my keys are called though.
And for people who don't have a tp2 that might not be much help.
To run the game in hvga or stretched landscape would be a dream.

If that dont work try turning off et9
Go to your reg and make this edit:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Layouts\e0010409]
"Layout Text"="COMP IME"
"Ime File"="compime.dll"
Make sure u write down how it looks before cuz i dont know
I've updated the video mode / blitting code of Pocket Quake, so it now supports the aspect ratio of the TP2, etc. I tried rendering WVGA natively at 800x480, but the device just doesn't have enough horsepower to push that many pixels. FPS was single digit (although it sure looked nice). So Quake is rendering at 400x240, and I'm doubling pixels while blitting to the display buffer. That's yielding 11.3 FPS doing a timedemo of demo1.
I've got to address some input issues to allow mapping to all hardware keys, and I'm going to add a variety of video modes to dynamically support pretty much any display resolution, so I'll have a universal binary for all the various WM devices out there.
I might have something available in the next couple days. I'll post here when I put it online.
I first released PocketQuake over 9 years ago, so it's been quite a while since I've worked with this code. Brings back some memories...
I'll update PocketQuake2 next.

Good adivice, forgot to mention that my key bindings didnt work untill
I disabled t9.
The game runs ok for me now. Fullscreen would be great though.
But the thing that bothers me most right now is that i can't quit the game
properly. When i ran it on my Touch Cruise nativley at 320*240 There was a X icon
in the corner that you could press with stylus and it would open a special menu where you could exit the game. Now with a wvga screen that icon is too small to
even be pressed with a stylus. This means I cant exit the game, the only thing i can do is reboot the phone.
In the games .cfg file there is a key binding named:
Alt_EscapeKey =
Now I would guess this works as a escape key to go into menus and exit the game.
It is not placed among the ordinary keybindings.
Ive assigned keys to it that I know works if i would assaign to any of the normal
key bindings but it doesnt work.
Any ideas?

Not saying your work isn't appreciated but how about Duke instead?
You mentioned that the hardware didn't have enough horsepower to run
the game engine smoothly in wvga. What do you think about duke
wich uses a more basic engine, its not even real 3d if i understand correctly.
Could it run wvga natively smoothly (ca 30fps)?
And one more thing about duke
Has anyone figured out why some people seem to be able to play it in portrait fullscreen(stretched) on wvga phones but NOT in landscape?
I would be completeley satisfied to play it stretched in stead of natively.
One thing i tried was go in and alter the .cfg file
where it says
[Screen Setup]
ScreenMode = 0
ScreenWidth =
ScreenHeight =
I entered 800 and 480 values on width and height and booted the game in
landscape with keyboard out. It runs but looks distorted and interlaced.
The reason I'm working with Quake 1, 2 and Wolfenstein 3D now is because I ported those games to the platform in the first place.
As far as Duke, it should run very well, just as Doom does (which is the closest "3D" engine to it). I don't know if the source code is available to the previous Pocket PC ports, but that would certainly be a starting point to tweak it to support newer hardware.
Subscribed. Would be great to play these games on my tilt2.
I'd love to see this too. Preferably something that allows you a load various WAD files.
you can play these games now, not just in fullscreen in landscape.
You can play them i vga resolution

Any cool games working for the HTC HD mini?

Hi!
Have used the htc hd mini for a week now, and I must say I realy like it!
But with the HVGA screen I havent found any cool games that will run on it
Have tried MorphGear (snes emulator) but it won`t work. Have also tried pocket ufo, experiment 13 and many other games with the same result
Any of you know of any games that will run on this device?
Thanks!
HTC Mini rocks
Hi.
I love it too. It's brilliant - small and powerful.
I tried "Vegas Pool" from Market Place.
The other thing that i haven't figured out is how I can switch the keyboard on when needed.
For instance, when i need to enter some text in flash/flex apps, or in games.
Morphgear is working fine for me, but it does not support multitouch, so that the old jump and runs are unplayble...
Other games which should work: Tiki Towers, Iwi the Kiwi and maybe zuma.
===>km
What version of Morphgear are you using? And what settings are you using?
The version I tried did start, but the picture was way out of the screen and it didnt play in landscape.

Control GTA3 with a keyboard

I don't know if it was mentioned before, but I was messing with the game, and found out, that after connecting an USB keyboard with the OTG cable, you can actually play the game with it, like on PC
Direction buttons work great, you can walk around, with space you jump, hit enter to get in the car, c to change camera, a-s-d-w look around... unfortunately I couldn't find out a way to shoot, and sprint... but cars can be well driven with keyboard even handbrake works
I found in another topic that PC cheats also work, and I can confirm it, as the keyboard was connected, I could type in cheats with it, and they worked
I only tried GUNSGUNSGUNS for all weapons, and it worked, but I think all the cheats work
If someone finds a way to shoot and sprint, please post it
this is a lovely game... good release by rock star games... full on !!! my frnz couldn't believe that i m playing a PC game on my fone hehehehehe... way to go Rock STAR !!! hope to have more such game release from u... GTA IV...
Nice find
I think this might be the right topic so I will ask here.
I've got the game instaled&working on my SE Xperia Pro. As my phone has a built-in keyboard, all the cheats and the game-controls work just fine
The only problem I've got is that I can't change the keyboard controls (for the built-in keyboard, not for the on-screen controls).
Does anyone have a sugestion how to do it?
Try GTA 3 Cheats Unlocker...works great
Link: GTA 3 Cheats Unlocker
CONTROLS
For me, on the physical keyboard
sprint is 1 on the num row
shoot is 2 on the num row
jump is 3 on the num row
4 is to get in the car
6 & 8 is to cycle the weapons
aswd and arrow keys are to move the character on foot & in car
ijkl is to around in first person
c is to change camera mode
enter is to enter the menu in game
when in the menus arrow keys to scroll through and 1 to enter and 2 to go back
