Hi I have a BA with a non functional touchscreen which I will fix later however I will use it without the touch screen for a while first. Two Issues..
1) when I reset the device how do I bypass the screen alignment screen as obviously I cant tap the screen?
2) When I get into the device how do I unlock the screen without using the touchscreen - in other words what buttons / sequence do I use to unlock the device when I inadvertantly lock it ?
Kind regards
John P

My touch screen is completly dead, and I tried to hard reset it but i got stuck on the alignment screen. Is there anyway to skip the align screen after hard reset? or is there any rom out there i can flash that will skip the align screen?

Did you tried to flash back to radio 1.50 or lower?
Michele
You have to set you're pda in the bootmode ( reset button + ok and power button )
Then reflash youre pda with a other Radio Rom.
Good luck
I even tried to flash back to 1.48 and still im stuck at the align screen. I think the screen died at the same time i flashed the 1.51 radio. Now the real issue now is how to skip the align screen after hard reset because the touch screen is gone.
I'm sure one of the chefs could cook a ROM that skips the setup screens...
There is a remote alignment application that allows you to skip the alignment screen.....but you obviously wont be able to use the touch screen.
could you please give me a link of the remote alignment screen program? Im sure the touch screen is dead and i think ill be fine with the manual buttons.
Hope some chef will cook a rom that will skip this align screen thing.
I must be in a good mood, because I found this on google in two clicks....why you can't is beyond me....

wow. it works! thank you so much. now i can use my phone again but the touch screen. i think i'll be fine without it. =)
Hi Guyz, Just bought a Touch HD and 1st thing i did was configure a 4 digit password. Since i live in china and Chinese for texting, i went on to try to install a old version of CE-Star (wm2003) on it, installation went fine, finally was prompted to do soft-reset, i did so, and then things went haywire, after coming out of reset the device diasplayed the initial password screen came up, realized that i cannot type in screen (totally un-responsive) and nor clicking on below 4 hardware butons causes any effect. I cannot enter into my device and hence cant do anything, stuck. Both Soft-reset nor even the Hard-reset surprisingly does not work (at wits end to get out of this dilemma, pls help). Pls help to resolve. Thanks.
if hard reset didn't work i think that this means that you have a faulty touch screen!
but i think you have not done Hard reset right,
do the following,
turn off the device
hold down vol up & vol down
press and release (only single click) the power button and wait for the instructions on the screen.
follow the instructions on screen untill the phone reboots.
i hope this will help
Hi,
I have Touch Pro2 on Vodaphone with the stock rom and today when i power on the phone it goes to the enter phone lock as normal but when i press the unlock key after entering the code nothing happens.
Is there a safe boot or anyway to get into the phone without doing a hard reset?
Thanks
Jason
So guys I would really appreciate some help on this. I dropped my phone the other day and a very minor crack happened on the corner of the screen. Now every time I turn on my phone or reset it, it says that the phone has detected screen damage and goes on "Hardware Key Control Mode" and everything is disabled.
The rest of the screen looks totally fine and the crack is on the bottom corner where the hardware keys are, and those keys work fine as well. I believe the rest of the screen still functions but I cant remove this mode. I turned off the phone and pressed all 3 buttons and then tried disabling it but it goes back into "Hardware Key Control Mode" after restarting. Is there a way I can remove this somehow? I dont mind flashing if necessary. Would REALLY appreciate any help, thanks in advance.

Your phone is likely detecting a damaged digitizer. The screen will be unable to detect touches even if you could disable this mode.

Hmm is there any way to disable it though? Because the hardware keys that are on the screen where it is cracked are working fine... also on the log in screen when you swipe to unlock I can see the background moving when i swipe over it.

I'm not aware of any way to disable it outside of flashing a custom ROM. Do you have TWRP installed, and if so, can you use your touch screen in recovery?

No I did not install TWRP yet. Should I try doing it now? Will I need any touch screen features while doing it?
I installed TWRP on my phone using the phone itself. I don't think there's any other way to flash it, but i could be wrong.

Oh ok, thanks for your help. I will give it a go tonight, some people are saying you can install it using ADB driver commands from cmd prompt. I just hope that after installing a custom rom the Hardware key control feature will go away, because I was reading somewhere that it is stored in a different partition or something.

Hey again, So yea I tried everything . Im trying to use the ABD cmds but since I cant swipe on the screen its not letting me to press "allow" for usb debugging mode, so i cant root then install TWRP .Im stuck here. Is the phone garbage because of this "Hardware Key Control Mode" ? I cant find any way to turn it off or remove it completely. The screen only has one minor crack, and that location near the hardware keys is working fine.
