Another Idea?
Power+light+reset = bootloader mode as already posted. It does not light up though, you can only see the bootloader screen if you look at it in bright sunlight or shine a light at it. Try charging it overnight the press power+light+reset, connect it to your PC then run the upgrade. If it really isn't going into bootloader mode then you will probably need to send it off for repair to vodafone.
i just had exactly the same problem, even the pc does not recognize it at all, activesync doent work, what to do please

I do not have hopes. There is not image on display. I have tried with power+reset+lamp hard reset - + - + Reset!!! Power+ camera + Reset!!!
Display black and nobody written of the boot loader.
Useless if the boot loader it is cancelled is not restorable. Unfortunately it goes in repair.

How it can happen? If device worked before u start upgrading maybe u battery is low. Try to charge it somehow even not fully and continue upgrading via bootloader screen.
yes, universal. good news, i got it back to life, it now an i mate, can't change it, but it works.
i tried many rom version that i downloaded from buzzdev and one clicked.
most came with country id wrong etc
how can i gdt it back to O2? it does not accept it anymore?

Shalom tabasco, well not really, i had it like that for a week, i evenhad it on charge for almost 3 days, the screen came at one point when i upgraded a rom, but the screen had a funy colour and it was stuck in bootloader, done all reset you can imagin, i even rand O2 to collect it for repair
seems to me that I created a problem for myself too. Can't escape bootloader mode. This 3 stages runs fine, but after final 100% CE screen, when I doing hard reset, writes "Clearing now" and goes back to bootloader screen  How to make him alive? I even did short on backup battery (opened back cover), but nothing effective
ok ok i pressed several times buttons which activates bootloader and it comes to normal activity. Was it a joke or something else ?
Good for you
Did u try to do as given here? http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Instructions for those stuck on Boot Screen - do all this, maybe it will solve. Be ezrat ashem
But anyway I'll going to make him swallow this new ROM from T-Mobile, but later, not at work...

I have the same problem.
I flashed HBOOT (cm7r2), reboot phone and phone died.
Now the phone is not turned on.
If you remove the battery and connect the charger, then the LED flashes green / orange color all a time.
If you connect the charger when inserting the battery, the LED will light green.
Then try to turn on phone, it will be just a black screen only.
If try turn on phone VolDown+PowerButton, then black screen too.
Turn off your phone and Press and hold back + power button and this will go to bootloader. Then fastboot. Is it working that way?

[Q] Xperia S bricked ?

I was installing cyanogen mod 10 via CWM and everything went fine until I rebooted after installing. The phone would not reboot in to android.
The phone is stuck on a black screen with no power light showing - it vibrates if I try a hard reboot but that is the limit of what it's doing. When it was plugged in via USB the computer installed a couple of drivers but that's it as far as any form of life goes.
Does anyone have any ideas ?
Is your bootloader unlocked?
CM10 only works on unlocked bootloader.
If your bootloader is locked, use PCC or Update Service to repair your phone.

Do this -
1. Download stock ics ftf and prepare to flash it using Flashtool by androxyde
2. Press and hold the power and volume up combination until you get 3 vibrations
3. Now holding the volume down key, attach the usb cable and allow the flashing to get completed
4. Turn on your phone normally after the flashing and enjoy
Thanks.
I used the sony update service to get up and running again. As far as I was aware the bootloader was unlocked but presumably it was not which caused the problems ?

To turn it off completely, press and hold the volume up + power combination until you get 3 vibrations. At this point, your device will be completely turned off. Now in order to unlock your bootloader, kindly follow this guide - http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions
Good luck

M8 won't turn on, only shows red notification light

I tried to flash the new firmware necessary to flash the 5.0 GPE rom but found that my phone had no OS after that. So I tried to flash PhilZ recovery so that I could load a ROM but after I completed that, the M8 is basically dead. The screen won't turn on and the notification light is red. No matter what buttons I press, power+volup, voldown or both, the red light just turns off for a second and then turns on again. The screen won't turn on at all. It's not a battery issue as I had close to 80%. I'm sure I've bricked it somehow but is there a way to fix it? Please help.

Hi frnds.
I have a Samsung galaxy j2 (sm-j200g)
I unlocked bootloader and installed twrp.
But I can't slide the twrp button due to screen issues so twrp is useless in current situation.
Currently the phone has no system OS and I want to restore the stock firmware.
But I'm unable to boot into Download mode (it just boot by luck in rare situation).
The phone is not even charging correctly now. It shows the battery icon for 2-3 seconds and then screen disappears. The same happens when it accidentally boot in download mode.
The battery icon doesn't even show any color.
The phone turn on but only for a few seconds.
Help plz.. Thanks.
