Storage Memory - P3300, MDA Compact III ROM Development

I have a Tmobile MDA Compact, and it keeps running out of storage memory, but I can't figure out what is using it. There are no exceptionally large files or anything.
Only software running is
NET 3.5
TrackMe
SQLCompact
Anybody any ideas?? I'm wondering if the SQL thing is getting full, but not sure how to empty it, I tried uninstalling it but that didn't help.

Just a moment, Sorage Memory depends on ROM's size, if you consider Artemis has 128MB (real 114MB) and a ROM is minimum 50MB, you have 64MB free, but if rom is bigger and use an ExtendedRom your free memory could be less than 26MB!!!
What rom are you using?

Lack of available RAM after new radio rom???

Hi,
I've just put hard-spl on to my diamond and upgraded the radio to v1.00.25.05.
Everything else about this is stock. Now when I turn on my device it has about 48% ram... I can't start Tomtom anymore, and presumably other apps.
There's no running programs. I'm not sure where the ram has disappeared to.
My memory looks as the following:
Storage:
Total: 85.44 MB
In use: 28.45 MB
Free: 56.99
Program
Total: 113.07 MB
In use: 58.04 MB
Free: 55.03 MB
Can someone help out? The device is pretty useless with this amount of ram after a reset
Not sure if this makes a difference...
But I couldn't get hard-spl on using the normal directions, I had to use these instructions here:

And what`s the prob ? You have about 50% of Ram free ? I don`t see the point.
1. Before the radio and hardspl upgrade I could run Tomtom fine, now it won't start at all due to a lack of memory.
2. Before the upgrade I had over 80% when I turned the device on.

Impossible you must be mistaken. Maybe when TF3D turned off but even then I doubt. With TF3D off after soft reset I get around 60 MB free which makes free about 55% and used 45%. The problem is somewhere else dude
I'm not mistaken. 78% was the most commonly displayed amount I had. I'm 100% not mistaken on that.
The fact that Tomtom tells me that there's not enough memory to launch also helps to confirm this for me. I did a Tomtom reinstall too without any change.
when you said 80%, are there any chance that you got it from hitting top right hand conner at TF3D page? if so, that number doesn't mean you have 80% RAM available, but it means 80% RAM were in use (so you have 20% available).
And if in that case, you said you have 48% number show now.. that's mean 48% is in use and you have 52% available. compare to before where you have 78% on average, this is much better isn't it?
For the TT problem, I don't think is really cause by this. It may be ran out of memory, but not this RAM, could be virtual memory, etc. Sorry, I don't use TT so i skip this part..
Install TT7 on phone memory and it will work.
You have a TomTom pb
On my device, I have 50~51% at boot.
For you I launched several apps to have 66% (40Mb free)
And guess what ? TomTom launched with no problem.

I have the following which sort of sucks as I have next to nothing installed on the stock HTC ROM.
Storage:
Total: 85.31 MB
In use: 49.01 MB
Free: 36.30 MB
Program
Total: 113.07 MB
In use: 91.41 MB
Free: 21.66 MB
Shows 80% used with Activesync off..
TomTom runs up fine for me...
You were right, I was reading the ram incorrectly. Sorry about this.
Someone mentioned installing tomtom in the phone memory will fix this... well I did that the other day and yes it worked, but now, less than 2 days later without me changing anything it's done it again
I have read about the availability of RAM after booting up and after using the device for awhile. My device's RAM after fresh soft reset is around 53-55% and after using it for almost a day, it reports as 65-67%. In all your honest expert opinion, is that good or bad ? I have not experienced any device hang ups yet, TF3D still is fast and smooth. Only sometimes the device lags when I am typing out a SMS.

TomTom7 Not enough memory available

I got my TP2 for a week now and I really love it!
Yesterday I tried to run TomTom 7 (this did run before) and since then I get the message:"Unable to start. Not enough memory is available."
Does this sound familiar to you? What memory is meant here? I suppose the RAM, because I have freed up some space on the device and on the storage card. Further no applications are running. I also tried doing a soft reset before starting TomTom.
Any help would be appreciated!

hi I had this on my diamond and I found if I deleted my maps and then reinstalled them all was well for me.
I hope this helps you
So that would mean if I delete the maps it should be able to start again? (Of course displaying no maps where found) I just tried it and that doesn't work.
First I'm copying the maps back to the device again. Let's see what happens!
No, unfortunately that doesn't solve the problem.
If I have some time left I will uninstall and reinstall.
The TomTom uses less than 20mb of ram. There should be plenty left.
A re-install should fix your problem.

I think 20mb is a bit much. To illustrate, i'm running it right now on my Treo 700Wx and before i launched it i had 18mb free program memory (other apps running as well) and right now since running TomTom 7 it's dowm to 11mb (so about 7mb has been used up by TomTom).
At the most it only ever uses as much as 10mb on my puny 3yr old Treo 700Wx.
i have another problema with tomtom(v.7.915) with tomtom installed can't connect me to my computer using activesync in bluetooth.any idea?
hmmm, anyone tried entering a city or something using the HW keyboard? Mine inserts an extra character after every keypress, even the shift key. Kinda makes it impossible to enter using the KB.
i had this when i had both the tom tom program and map on my storage card
i have tom tom on the device and my map on the storage card root location named with the name of the map for the folder
Western_Europe_1GB_830_2306
and it works fine
im struggling to get speed cams installed

Have you tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=522373
It was posted in the Tips and Tricks sticky at the top of this section
This is interessting: I've uninstalled TomTom and reinstalled it. No luck!
However: if I start TomTom from the folder Programmabestanden\Navigator it DOES work!
It only doesn't start if I use the shortcut in the windows\start menu folder.

I seem to remember I had this problem on my Raphael/Touch Pro. Not sure but there may be a HW keyboard fix if you check out the forums over there. Whether or not it will work for the Rhodium/TP2 though is another thing. For me, it's not a problem to use the SW keyboard though.
i just soft reset or use cleanram before using tomtom. The problem is the leaky memory in the original Rhodium ROM. A new cooked ROM will most likely solve this one they become available

Kaiser Android slowdown

I'm running dzo's kernel 09/09/10 and dzo's froyo 02/09/10, but I've been experiencing these problems with the CyanogenMod port as well. Basically the phone often becomes sluggish and unresponsive. I've tried using Startup Manager to trim down the running processes, but it doesn't seem to work for me. Taskpanel seems to show a typical free memory level of less than 30MB. I'm not running a huge number of apps, although everything is installed to flash, as is Android.
Is there anything I can do to prevent these slowdowns? I take it installing apps to SD card won't actually free up core memory.
Typically in my experience Froyo or rather CM6 tends to get sluggish after a while, due to more and more processes using up available RAM, I'm not sure this is actually helped by task management, since most tasks simply restart if killed before they have done their job.
It's not just confined to our Kaiser CM6 ports either, I had the same sort of thing on my G1.
I just went back to 2.1 builds and have been happy with my average 30Mb free ram ever since, without task management, and yes, that includes my G1.
Apps2sd will free up space on data storage, however it will not free up RAM sadly, which is where the problem is.
Another thing I have found recently on the froyo that is slowing me down is the stupid download folder on the sd card. The market uses this and if you have a partial download, ever, it seems to cause issues until you delete the files out of there.

[Q] My z1 compact shows lower internal memory compared to phone settings(1gb less)

Hi all i am new to this wonderful forum,
I recently noticed that my xperia z1 compact shows exactly 1gb less internal memory when connected to windows than what shown in phone storage settings. when free memory in internal memory is less than 1 gb it shows as no memory available. I dont know whether this problem always existed or came after i rooted my phone and installed & experimented with things like xposed installer, greenify etc to get more battery
One relief was i checked my friends sony mobile (xperia p) which too had similar issue (1gb less when connected to windows) .External memory seems to work normal though.
I tried other mobiles like motorola's moto e and g which had only 100 mb less..1gb lesser is too much. What is happening? pls give an explanation. Is this normal or am i missing any major point! really concerned

I didn't notice it before, but it shows the same for me. Usually there is an alert when you start getting close to using all the space on your phone. I'm guessing Sony put a limit to how much you can transfer over so that you don't end up getting the low space notification, it might be different on cm or aosp roms, if someone would care to chime in about it.
