I Have screwed my MDA!

I bought a MDA2 off ebay and it said in the ad it had WM2005 on it, i figured it was a typo so i went ahead and bought it. ANyway i got the MDA and it has WM2005! The main reason i bought it was to run tomtom navigator 5, now i managed to install it but the backlight refuses to work. I just want to know where i can download the original rom from as i dont want WM2005 because its not designed for the phone....
Tried to be clever and i downloaded a rom from the o2 website and tried to reflash the phone with that rom, it came up with some error message and it totally crapped out my mda. My mda is now on a dark screen that says serial v1.02 and when i put it in the cradle it changes to USB v1.02. Tried running different roms but its not accepting any. Activesync is not picking the device up anymore...
can anyone help?

OK so you want an official rom?
1) What is the HTC anme for an MDA2?
2) What carrier are you currently on?

i dont mind what rom it is...as long as it works. Carrier? I am on the o2 network if that helps. HTC anme? I have no idea what that means. If you could tell me how i can get this info for you i will

Well its a T-Mobile MDA (what it says on the device itself but i beleive its the same as an XDA2). I am in England and i am on the o2 network.

I dont mind at all, anything that makes it work.

ok, try hard resetting your phone, it should boot back into WM5, you will then need to download a wm2003 rom (check the WIKI for options and choose one) and install that (again the wiki should hold all the information you need)
( i didnt tell you this in the first place because i was looking to find an official o2 uk rom, however you need to give them your imei, and o2 phone number to do that, somthing i dont have )

Ok firstly, hard reset (holding power whilst placing stylus in reset hole) is the first thing i tried, its not having non of it. Just shows USB v1.02. I was able to download the rom from the o2 website by giving my IMEI of this tmobile phone (how? i dont know). There was an error durin the installation which caused my mda to crap out. Its not going past that screen at all.

during the install? as in while it was actually copying the rom?

k, this hapened to me earlier todday as it happens (i was testing ivans new rom)
the reason it was caused is that the operator ID is set wrong, to fix this follow these instructions:
go to "c:\documents and settings\your_username\local settings\temp" and delete everything there.
run the origional o2 upgrade DONT PRESS NEXT OR ANYTHING, JUST START IT.
go back to "c:\documents and settings\your_username\local settings\temp"
there should be a new folder created, copy this to a tempory location.
extract the contents of this attached zip file into that copied directory.
double click on setoperator.bat
run the HimaUpgradeUt.exe in that folder to put your phone back to the wm2003 os.
if this doesn't work then i'm stumped, sorry

when i run the o2 upgrade it just shows a plf183.tmp file, no folders... ill try afew more things

i have a qtek 9000 and one hour ago i flashed my phone with Ranju_v76_WM61_19209_19209_1_0_2.exe (sticky topic) and this operation finish correctly.I used wm6 for abouy 5 minutes. suddendly my ppc turn off and doesn't power up but if i press keys for hard reset it power up with press 0 to restore factory or X...
If i press 0 my ppc turn down and doesn't power up.
If i try to connect in my pc windows xp write "Periferica non riconosciuta".
how can i do?
P.S. if i put mi ppc in bootloader menu i see usb in the top but if i try to start the flash operations with Ranju_v76_WM61_19209_19209_1_0_2.exe at the 7% flash fails...help meeee

i tried abot 20 times...but flash stop at 7% with ERROR 112 UPDATE CE ROM ERROR....i try with different rom's but this error is still present...
what can i do now?
P.S. i just use the no ID file to start the flash....

have you tried to leave the battery for 20 mins and retry to exit from bootloader? retry bootloader upgrade reset,your battery are at full charge?
try pdaviet rom don't panic
battery all charge device leave sim and memory card from bl start ruu from rom upgrade try....

OK, similar to OP but I can't enter Bootloader. Tried flashing (using Vista 32) it failed and the instructions said to press to softkeys and soft reset to get to bootloader! This, of course, takes you to the screen to press 0 to restore factory defaults or x to exit - both of which just turn off my device and it doesn't boot.
Pressing 'power, light and Soft Reset' does not take me to bootloader - the only screen I can get to os the press 0 to restore factory defaults screen, nothing else seems to do anything.
Any ideas?

OK. As I got no replies I decided to just try flashing another ROM. E ven though I couldn't get to Bootloader it flashed fine. Now running thingonaspring ROM

How to reload the default software back to HTC Excalibur

Hello,
Need your guys help urgently. I have a HTC Excalibur, but recently did not power ON for about afew weeks, and now when I power ON, it will just hang at the booting green page showing "Windows Mobile Direct Push Technology", and can never goto the main screen at all, suspected that the software corrupted.
Please help, I have tried to use the Activesync but it does not detect my HTC Excalibur. Is there any way to reload back the default software/firmware image back to the device? like BlackBerry device, there's a software application and can use the Desktop Manager Application Loader to reload the software/firmware back to the device, is there such similar way for HTC Excalibur? Or any alternatives to resolve this issue?
Please HELP, any kind soul expert out there to help?

They are 2 ways that You can get the bootloader screen back, by connecting your phone to your PC via USB, catch this {although the phone may look like it's not connected to your PC via active, but it is connected, you will not see the green Active sync icon on your PC at this time, but you phone is still connected to your PC via active sync}, understand this...!
Next, while your phone is connected to your PC via active sync, push and hold the camera button for several seconds, keep trying until the color screen appear {BootLoader screen}, should the BootLoader screen appear, You will have to install a 6.0 ROM back in your device, before you put a 6.1 ROM on your device.
If the above method should fail, this is another method, but kind of difficult, soft reset your mobile device, while your phone is coming back up, press and hold down the the 2 soft key {Home Key and Back Key} and the camera buttons at the same time, until the color screen comes up, you may have to try this several times, be patient. Should the color screen come up, install a 6.0 ROM back on your device before installing a 6.1 ROM to your device. These 2 method have worked for me and others in the past......!

hi 'Murat' (careful about giving away personal information when posting screenshots of your desktop)
search the forum for error 260
it's probably because you're using vista, although the screen that comes up and says to close other programs before flashing probably means INCLUDING Windows Media Player and whatever that MACOS-dock type taskbar addon is
Especially media player because it can try to make a connection with your phone as a 'removable storage' device
once you get that coloured screen up on your phone , it means your device is in bootloader mode
you can try to run the update again once the phone is already in that state and it might fix it.
if not, as i said, search the forum ... you might need to change your device drivers
it also looks like you havent USPL'd your phone yet so this ROM might not flash correctly.
Again, search the forum
this might also be a good time to point out theat there is also a v44 version of that rom on here, rather than the v43 you're trying to use

good idea for the phone screen but we can't read the numbers so you can just give them. i think SPL 3.13.0000 so you haven't Unlock your device.
1- Unlock your device http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311403
2- if it's good, your numbers on bootloader (screen 3 colors) have changed normally in 1.11.xxx
3- you can now flash your device with your wm6.5 rom.
And yes use search for help you if always problem.

also search the forum for' error 260 vista drivers' ... you might need to rollback the USB driver to an earlier version but try everything else first.
USPL should be done first before rom flash

sorry, I don't think i understand your question
to put your phone into bootloader mode, hold the RECORD/NOTES button and press the stylus into the reset hole at the same time.
Then you get the coloured stripes screen like your screenshot (that is bootloader mode)
First you need to USPL your phone. This makes SPL version 1.11.0000
Don't upgrade the rom until you can see :
SPL 1.11.0000
when you reset
search the forum for help or follow the link earlier

Try to run the "start_uspl" from Artemis_USPL but i think you must:
1 instal the program for synchron with vista,
2 connect your device but not in bootloader, you must see the today screen on your device.
3 only when synchron is finished you can run the "start_uspl" for unlock your device.
4 if there is no error and when the process is finished, normally he ask for restart device, and look if the numbers 3.13 is change in 1.11
Edit if there is an error (white screen, etc) try to run the "start_uspl" again and again. It will finish by working, i had to try many times before it really working.

but when the prozess finished "dos window 100%" my phone display is white an the connection to the PC is deactive

Redo the hard reset and try again. Also, I suspect that your screen is frozen (watch for changes in dot view mode, like time and battery percentage). It might also be that your tactile screen isn't working anymore and requires a change.

Sorry, this is completely unrelated from the current topic but I reallly need help..I tried to flash a rom on my HTC but thr preloader got corrupted xo my phone go hard bricked. Pluging the phone into a computer just shows a red led and the computer shows nothing in device manager.
I tried uninstalling the MTK Preload VCOM driver and reinstalling it but that still didn't work.
Even pressing volume keys while connecting still gave nothing.
I also tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting the phone to the computer but still nothing.
If there is anyone, please help me.....

When my E9 got hard bricked, I sent it to a repair shop. They took a long time, but they brought it back to life.
