is it bricked ?

i tried to do a beasty wm6 rom update, everything went well, and at the end of the procedure, it ask me to "press 0 to restaure factory setting" for rebooting, i press 0 and then....nothing. Impossible to start the htc, i can only access bootloader mode, but ain't no more recognize by the pc, i tried to plug it to AC power as i thought of a battery prob, and still nothing, no start, and no led telling me that it's recharging...
i ve done some search on the forum, but can't see something similar to this.

did you try to downgrade it to WM5? I also had problems with WM6 and after a downgrade to WM5 it worked again.

well now when i connect it to my pc it says unknown device, so i dunno how to reflash to wm5
im on vista 64, and when i try to install the 64 driver it gave me on error about a corrupted driver...

I have the same problem,cannot recognize the usb port.
Anyone has an idea??

try changing your cable and if possible try using a xp machine. i have heard of people having problems when flashing with vista (i did it and no problems)
If after you change the cable, and use a differente computer the universal when you put it in bootloader mode and the word SERIAL does not change to USB i would say its pretty much bricked but if you only flashed your device i would say it is still possible to bring it back from death.
try changing your cable (specially if its the one you usually use) im almost sure thats your problem.
also make sure you dont have the sd card or the sim in it that seems to help too.

Thats your problem! Vista is very shaky at best with flashing via USB on HTC devices.
Reflash to WM5 using the SDCard method.

SPL update from internal storage

Hello all and sorry for my English,
I have problems with my HTC Diamond, my computer does not recognize the phone when I connect. USB unrecognized.
I managed to update the rom and radio via the internal drive but not possible for the SPL.
Someone would have an idea.

I have this issue with different USB-cables. Try another cable.

I have tried on several different PC and cable, but the problem is always the same.

what windows are u usingm if ur using the original usb cable it should work , Try a different usb port on ur computer, not sure what else to suggest

Did you try this:
Start --> settings --> connections --> USB to PC --> DESELECT "Enable Advanced network functionality"

Yes i try and is always the same problem, I also tried with disk drive

What is the current SPL?
You know that Olipro's hardSPL is write protected?
The only way to flash a write-protected it is to use the Soft SPL which is used to flash the hard spl, but change the hard-SPL file with your own SPL file.

Curently my SPL is SPL-1.40.olinex.

Hi guys,
same for me here, definitly a USB-hardware failure of the Xda, tried anything possible to connect, hardresets/ROM change, any suggested WinMo options, different cables, different PCs, reinstalling activesync, removing USB-Devices from PCs device manager. Win XP shows "unknown device", no chance to hook it up via cable. Bluetooth sync is possible, though. I'm on Olinex 1.40, so i join the request... anybody has a clue on how to revert it back to the original SPL without activesync?

I've got a branded Vodafone one and had flash my Diamond with SPL-1.93.OliNex and with the dutch HTC ROM (the last one original ROM from the HTC website)
Also no conaction with the USB cable !!!!!!
Is my Phone USB broken ??????????????
Or can i flash mij phone with the internal storage card ?????

Is there any way to flash SSPL without using the sspl-manual.exe? The automatic mode would not go into the bootloader.
The issue is that the touchscreen stopped working and now the OS is stuck at "tap screen here" after the hard reset.

i780 usb and activesync problem

First, sorry my bad english
I have bought my samsung i780 just for a week. I would like to connect it to my laptop to update the contacts and save the pictures. I installed the ms activesync 4.5 and plugged in the data cable (type: APCBS10BBE and also tried APCBS10UGE). The windows sent me an error message about could not recognise the phone. I have not installed any specific usb driver. I tried plug in and out the cable more times (about 10-15) and once there was a success, the synchronisation was fine. Everytime when i try to connect, i have to repeat the plug in/out procedure about 10-15 times... I am afraid, this is the i780 usb connectors fault Is there any other possibility to fix the problem whithout change the connector?
Could you be so kind to give me some advices?

Thanks, but i've already tried the bluetooth for connetcting to the activesync. The problem is: I can't set up the bluetooth serial port on the i780 to the same as the pc bt serial...

I got a i780 with CoinJun's Rom which version was forgot.I often can not sync to my pc.I upgraded the new ROM which version is PDXIB1 downloaded from samsung.Now,it is ok.

i have a big problem. i have a samsung i780 with orange rom (pbvic2), he wont connect to activesync, when i put the cable usb in, he charge, red led is on, the pc make sound connection, on the phone appears "connecting to host" but nothing. And another problem is that he see the sd card, but the computer wont, i try another card, the card reader is seeing , after i put him in the phone he become invisible on the pc, he corrupte them, pls tell what to do, or maybe i need to change the rom? but how ? becausae i have no pc connection...

i have a uni who stuck on bootloader (BL) bl- v2.01
i use tomal 8.7, browsing aplication and find storage manager (some with partition program... ) and my uni was frozen after reboot ... (long story)
i turn (BL) and want to reflash my rom to other version, but my uni don't want it
i run a mtty/putty and want to do a DoC format, but programs don't want to connect with uni, i try a lot of usb cable, usb ports and a 4 computers with Winxp. i use a few version of mtty and uni exit bootloader, hx4700 bootloader...
and dosent works
yy windows not reconize uni show msg unknown device.

hmm ive read many times universal wiki and i dont find there a solution.
i think when i "using" storage aplication in tomal 8,7 i delete a partition then it "stuck"
uni in bl mode when plug usb cable don't change to "usb" stuck on "Serial"
if usb cable is pluged in when i turn bl mode when "usb" shows but dosent react with pc ... don't recognize it, active sync have unmarked 'usb connections'

Do you have your SD card and Sim card out of the PDA??

If you cannot see
Serial changing to USB on your device, I say your USB port is damaged and that prevents you from flashing any ROM or device being recognised by PC.

hmm so my port in uni is dameged? ok its software damage or hardware damage ? 10 minutes before uni was stuck i change rom few times.

P3300 can't connect with USB

Hi guys, sorry for my bad english.
Since today can't sinchronize my ppc with wm 5.0.
Here's the problem: when I pug it with usb cable, nothing happens.The orange light is on, the phone is in charge but nothing happens.Usually when I connect the phone I can see windows looking for ip address, and the activesynch shows... but this is not going to happening anymore.
I tried to reistall activesinch, I've cleaned the registry and i tried to connect it with others software.Still nothing.
Firewall is disabled.Any solutions?

I had the same problem sometime ago. I've changed the wire first but nothing happened. My speaker, my Mic was dead and I could switch on FMRadio without the Hands-free!!!
What I did...??? I updated my mobile's Radio with 3.39.90 Version. How can you do this without active sync???
1. Remove SIM Card and Storage Card from the Mobile.
2. Press and Hold the Right Button (Recording Button) and Press together the Power Button. You will be in the Bootloader Screen. Try to update the Radio first.
3. Check it if it's working ok.
2nd way...
1. Copy the official ROM of WindowsMobile to the Storage Card.
2. Press Right Button (you know the Voice Rec) and holding that press the Power Button...
the mobile will be bootloader mode and will try to install the official ROM from the Storage Card...
wait a bit and then when it finish, check it if it is working properly!

I have the same problem i cant sincronize the pda whith the activesync and i wish to change the rom. Now it's in france and i wish to change it to english, and it's locked to orange france i think. What can i make? It starts in bootloader, but the instalation from the card is not starting. thankx

I had the same problem 1 month back, checked the mini usb data cable with a multimeter just to find that one of the data TX/RX wire was short with +5v wire, cable was faulty. the 1st and the last wires (+5v , -5v) were ok thats why it was charging the phone, but not connecting to pc, it was giving error unrecognised usb device.
u can also check for bent contacts at the USB mini connector on ur phone.

i´ve got a strange problem with my arte110.
for some reason i cant establish an activesync-connection,a few days ago i had some wm6.5 rom running and couldnt connect my device, then suddenly today (maybe because i reinstalled windows on my computer yesterday, i dont know) i was able to connect the phone while in bootloader... so i flashed happy and lucky the original wm (os 5.2.1620 build 18125.0.4.2) rom i got from t-mobile austria.
now its the same problem as before, i cant connect my device, i've restartet artemis and my computer several times, i've reinstalled activesync 4.5 a million times, i've tried all available usb-ports- different usb cables (same cable works with external harddrives) and even my office-computer, and so on...
my pda is (and was allways) charging but i cant syncronize.
has anyone any idea what could cause this problem?- please don't tell me the usb port of the pda is damaged, I wouldn't want to have to fix anything in this case...

but i don't really know how i repaired that one, i disassembled the devive cleaned everthing in there and cleaned the usb connector..
