I get my new HTC P3300.
And the touchscrren didn't work.
Any solutios so far????
I'm real pissed of this device, thats my 2nd one!!!!!!
I cannot run the device, becouse of the first screen to calibrate the screen
did u install any apps?
if it happened after u installed any apps, see if u can use the hard ware key for start and use roller to add remove programs and remove it.If not try hard reset.
No i didn't install anything. Thats a brand new phone. I get it today. And cannot start it, because, thats the first screen after a hard reset, for calibrate the screen, but if the screentouch aint work, you cannot start the device. I am so disappointed with this phone. After a MDA II, Neo, that was my last phone from HTC. I will never buy a HTC phone again. What a shame to taiwanese economy.
Well, so i need to wait 2 more months for an Iphone .....
What happens, when you try reset with the hardware-buttons:
press the power button and power on the phone.
while powering on, hold both softkeys. and you'll be asked to format
your phone. then press the green phone to say "yes"....
maybe this will help you ?
ups, just reading, that you already did....sorry for the post....
No prob.. ;-)
But is there a screen testing mode. Maybe its only the soft, but i dont like to flash it, this device should go back to the seller with the original rom.
I'm an unlucky fellow, 2nd faulty device in one week
I watch the screen mode holding the button on the upper left side und reset it, where the 4 colors on the screen are folowing. But i cannot see any defect in the screen.

you havent added any screen protector to this phone have you ?
if not just try to do a hard reset ( goto setting and clear storage, type 1234 and ok) its a nice fast way to do a hard reset, once you have done that just carry on with the calibration tool, take it easy and dont do it to fast.
if you still get problems i would take it back to the shop, cause a lot of problems and ask for a new phone and some extras for all the trouble its caused you.
Hi
1. No screen protection added.
2. After a Hard Reset, the operating system start with the demand to calibrate the screen. But if the touchscreen ain't work, i cannot start the system.
3. Normally when you touch the screen, the backlight starts to shine, but if i touch it, it stays dark, first if i push one of the buttons, the backlight start glowing.
4. I'am really disappointed with the device and HTC itself, never had such problems with any other device. And i know, what i am talking about, cause i had one of the last Siemens devices from the insolvent Benq-Siemens Germany company. And its still runnig.
5. Because of the 2nd faulty phone, i did a lot of research on forums. And found many unhappy users, with differnt problems with HTC phones.
6. The device goes tomorrow back to the seller. And i dont want a spare device.
7. Now i am waiting for the iphone or a better phone from HTC ;-)
8. Dont really know, what i want.......

Before I start getting flamed.....I have been researching the methods to solve this bricking for the last 3 days and NOTHING has worked.
I have tried HARD resetting (2 soft keys and reset) tried flashing with bootloader version 1.04....NOTHING.
I cannot understand what to do next. Nothing is working, the WMBLACK screen is coming up and then the white screen!!!!
I have followed several instructions and I must be doing something wrong!!!
Is there anything else I can try?
Thanks
NJV
Have you gone here
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Unbrick
Yes....this is the first place I looked....I have followed everything....still nothing.
Hmmm... doesn't sound to me like a brick in the true sense. Do you have Hard-SPL installed? If so I'd check for bad blocks. If not, I'd flash Hard-SPL, then check.
See bootloader section of the Wiki and the Hard-SPL thread (mtty, 'info 8' and 'task 2a' in particular).
EDIT: Oh yeah, I think a bad battery can cause weird behavior like that, too. Gotta spare you can try?
I've tried loading hard SPL and it keeps telling me it can't communicate with the unit.
I will go back and try what you have mentioned again.
I unfortunately don't have another battery.
Thanks I will report back....your help is appreciated.
You have to 'force SSPL' on the Hard-SPL install...
Hey mate, remi from australia here. I have a Dopod 838 pro which is the same as your device and I had the same problem a couple of months ago when Black released version 3.5 of WM6. I searched long and hard on the internet for solutions to this problem, some ppl thought it was a heat related issue which I thought could be correct because when I had the problem, if I left the device off for a couple of hours then turned it on again and did a hard reset it would work for about 10 mins... however yea 10 mins and the same issue again, other people thought it was a short circuit in the device and others managed to get rid of the white screen by applying presure to the chassis above the right soft key, above the "ok" button..... but none of these worked for me, when I was getting the problem the keys would malfunction and stop worling then the screen would go white and it would be stuffed again. after a while it was permanent and no hard resets helped anymore. I went to my dealer and they organised a new handset to be sent out to me within a couple of days. when it arrived I compared mine to the new one and one thing I noticed was that the LCD on my bricked device was a very clear white constantly, when it was off, like it had burnt out completely and the new dopod had a dark black LCD with no visible boarders, clearly showing the lcd was stuffed. so if the bricked device has a screen which has a clear white boarder on the lcd like a white picture in a blck frame its really stuffed. but yea the only way u can fix it is by sending it off to your dealer for repair or try and get a replacement out of them!
regards
remi
I had the same issue. Turned out the video chip had come loose from the board and a couple of necessary connections weren't happening. I had to send mine in for repair.
I was out of warranty and sent mine to PPCtechs. They sent it back as good as new with a shiny screen protector.
hi all gurus,
my artemis recently got a white screen of death..
symptom
- the whole screen slowly becomes white
- will happens especially in hot (outdoor, noon time, or when loading big programs)
- the phone itself is noticeable hotter than normal when white screen happens...
- need to unplug the battery in order to restart.. soft-reset wont work when screen goes white..
- at early stage, still can connect to pc and flash new ROM, but now, cannot connect to pc already (pc just wont recognize it)
- the screen is seems to be shaking left to right all the time (a noticeable extra 5 pixels appears on the left most border of the screen, and the goes disappear, repeatingly)
- have already replaced a stable and clean ROM at the stage were the ppc still can connect to pc (i use the ROM before for few months, no problem)
- have try to switch on with a new battery, problem remains..
- battery drains quickly...
does anyone face this kind of problem before? it is hardware problem right? i search on the time, some says is the CPU need resoldering, some says need to replace the LCD ribbons... but the unfortunately things is, no pda repair expert near by area...
any feedback is apperciated. Sorry if my english grammer is not so good.
thanks.
i have the same problem...
i have bought a new battery and it still happens.
I now only get the following on boot:
IPL: 3.04.0001
SPL:1.11.0000
GSM: 03.08.90
I don't get the fourth one and it no longer loads - does this mean that the os is fluffed..?
Had the same problem, hard reset solved it
I have like this proble in my p3300

Hi...
I had the same prob. as in first post here...with my aretemis.Tried to fix it (after i ve read sh... load of threads) by heating up board and CPU (I was pissed so I just wanted to destroy it) and I managed to do so.
Now I get only red led when it is con.to PC.
After that I found post of some guy from ROMANIA who claims that he managed to fix it by one of these:
1. reheating CPU
2. changing CPY clock crystal
3.(I can't recall third thing, but it was hardware too)
After that I went on eBay, got a better one and now I'm happy with my new artemis, plus I have spare screen battery etc..in case I damage it somehow...
Ah yes...before I tried to f...(fix) it, I found that my warranty is expired for 1 month....so you can imagine why i lost my patience.
i know this will bring you down, sorry, but I had the same symptoms...
now I'm changing custom roms to see which one fits me, and still i get amazed with this beautiful phone....
cheers,
Z
Looks like a general problem with no fixes/solutions to be found anywhere.
My solution:
Get rid of this HTC sh!t and roll back to Motorola...
Found a solution!
Still being under manufacturers warranty, I took it to the repairs agents, they replaced the motherboard and voila!
Never blame a WSOD on software...
Hi All,
My diamond screen suddenly stopped responding. The screen calibration is also not working. I tried a hard reset and after that, it stopped at the screen 'Tap the screen to setup your windows phone'. I am not even able to do that. Any help is appreciable. Thanks in advance.

Try re-flashing a rom, or maybe your touch screen (digitizer) needs replacing, if you do this yourself i would recommend buying the digitizer and lcd together as one, it will make a whole lot easier trust me lol. The lcd screen is easy to break.
Had this problem, too, but since I couldn't get back to stock SPL at that time I put my Diamond into a shelf for about 2 days.
When I then tried to get back to stock SPL the screen suddenly responded again.
So, try to take off the battery for a long time (more than a day) and hope it recovers.
Didn't have the problem again.
Change the Touch Screen

I had a similar problem solved with changing the touch screen since the phone was under warranty I have to revert to the stock SPL and stock ROM before I gave it for service. If your phone is not under warranty you can buy the touch screen from ebay.com with a manual and all required instruments for replacing the same.
This happened to me because I was talking to someone over an hour in a humid place which caused sweat to get into the phone through the speakers.

Solution
Okay, I've just had this problem with an HTC Touch, and I think this works with any HTC that has a "digitizer" rather than an all-in-one touchscreen (I think newer phones have digitisers).
I'm not sure if this will always work, but I've just done it - sometimes the inactive touch screen is "broken" because the layers are stuck together (so the phone can't tell where the touch is, hence unresponsive). With mine, I looked at the screen side on and could see a kind of "oily" patch in the light.
The solution is to get masking/gaffa tape - the very sticky brown one. Stick it down on the screen/digitizer and then keep pulling it off - this pulls the layers from each other. I kept repeating this lots before it worked - and in the end I pulled the top layer completely off (I think you should pull from the top of the phone, as the layers need to be attached at the bottom of the screen/digitizer). Once it pulled away, I gently lay it back down (after panicking!!) and hey presto it started working again.
Good luck!

Putting the phone in the fridge makes screen work!
I know this is an old thread but why does putting the phone in the fridge for a few minutes make the touch screen work? Even if I put it out of a moving car and it cools down, then it works for a bit.
Anyone know why this is and how I can fix the phone permanently?
Title sums up my problem. I've got a T-Mobile Touch Pro 2 and I've got some water on it a few weeks ago. The wet seal on the battery and phone are both pink. I got a new battery and now the phone boots. It goes through the pink little T-Mobile screen, and then onto the black screen that says the phone wasn't shut off properly and this and that. It gives me the option to press the Volume-up key to do a hard reset, or press any other button to turn off or restart. The problem is that pressing volume-up, or any other key does not do anything. In fact, the only way to turn the phone off at this point, is by taking the battery out.
Can somebody please advise as to what I can do with this phone that is only 2 months old?
I believe the life/fate of your phone will depend on how quickly you acted right after the phone got wet. For instance did you immediately remove the battery and place the phone under a light or in a window where it could dry out? I even here sticking the phone in a bag of rice will help to draw out moisture. But if the phone has sat for weeks I would say it's safe to assume you phone has seen its last days. If you can take it apart and leave the individual components out to dry out and clean off any corrosion with alcohol and re-assemble. I wish I could offer better advice... Good luck it brings a tear to my eye to hear about a touch pro 2 broken down
Edit: Sorry I didnt realize you said that the screen does display. I would definitely try taking it apart and thoroughly cleaning things out and leaving it apart to dry for awhile. sending it in will get you no where (since pink water marks) and chances are HTC/T-mobile wont even send your broken phone back.

You could also try connecting the phone to your pc, and run mymobiler. When the screen goes blank, maybe you will be able to have access to your phone through the program. You could back up whatever you needed, and would tell you if the lcd went out. Just a thought. Sorry to hear about that though.
Mymobiler says that it needs activesync functional in order to work. Activesync doesn't work for me. I tried it anyway and it wouldn't detect. Is there a stock htc touch pro 2 rom out there that is in NBH format so that I could stick it on my SD card?
The very same thing happened to my Touch Pro 2 a few days ago too!
My story is different. I had never had any water damage to the phone. On the 23rd of March, I installed the Deepshining ROM. It worked fine. The next morning, I went into T-Mobile to get the new HTC HD2. I turned off the Touch Pro 2 to retreive the SIM card, and then have been using the HD2 since. I tried to turn on the Touch Pro 2 for a few nights now. It just stays at the T-Mobile Stick Together screen until the battery is dead. I tried a soft reset while it was stuck on that screen, and received the error message just like the OP.
Can someone help me too? I am really worried that the phone is bricked. I can't get a new Touch Pro 2 under warranty since I am running on a custom ROM/radio.
I'm not sure if I can blame Deepshining. None of my previous ROM installs ever failed on me, and people seem to be installing the roms just fine.
Are you trying to conquer my thread? It's nice and all that you've got the same problem, but thread hijacking is frowned upon.
Sorry, the phone is physically damaged. There's not much you can do at this point.
Just as an update. Somehow, after installing the deepshining mod and trying it after a few days, it works fine now. It became very responsive, and I was able to install the original tmo 6.1 stock rom. Everything works fine, the only problem is that some of the physical qwerty keys either don't work or draw more than the needed letter/number. The power button doesn't function to turn the screen off, which really is about the only bummer. Everything works fine. Yay.
There is no touch screen input. The phone works fine but no touch input.
I did a hard reset. Nothing. Any ideas ?
Im thinking there might be something wrong with the screen itself. Maybe if I take the phone apart and put it back together I can see whats wrong with it.
Same thing happened to my Tilt 2 (stock ROM). I tried a soft reset, hard reset, and then reflashing the stock ROM again. Nothing worked, so AT&T warranty exchanged it.
I believe is a hardware problem... Maybe your Rhodium got wet or something like that... You shoul go to your carrier and ask them if the warranty cover that...
actually i had the same problem---BUT
I did fix the problem myself...when it first lost its touchscreen capability, i accidentally pushed up on the bottom of the touchscreen (bottom of the phone) for a brief moment and touched the screen while pushing on the bottom ---AND IT WORKED...but as soon as i stopped pushing up on the bottom of the phone...the touchscreen stopped working......so I simply took apart my phone till I reached the lcd/touchscreen---I even disconnected all the ribbon cables ... (I could not figure out what the problem was because I had originally thought a ribbon cable that goes to the touchscreen had been loose-but all the ribbon cables seemed intact while I took the phone apart)----so I decided just to put the phone back together - carefully AND as soon as I put the phone back together, I turned it on IT WORKED! No problems since...
I really did not want to send the phone back to att because the phone that they sent me was actually 1 phone out of 2...yes thats right I received 2 phones whenever I ordered my phone...they have been doing this for years now...so I dont feel bad
good luck if you decide to open ur phone apart - it was rough...and time consuming ... but if you have a little patience - u should be good
Thats good you were able to fix it..... the same thing happened to me with a htc fuze from att. they refused to warranty exchange it for me though and i had it for less then 3 months.....
