Kyphur - How do you do it???

I know this is a new post, and I'll probably get flamed etc...
But, HOW DO YOU DO IT?
You were up before 5am posting a new rom (so no sleep last night).. went to work and still carried on answering questions (good and dumb ones).. then you've got enough sense left to make a good decision NOT to include an embeded radio in WMXL AND close the thread to stop timewasters (like me)...
Go and get some sleep bcos we need you... stop posting for a few days and just watch us get screwed up and sorted out without you - you've already done the hard work, without which there would be no discussion...

I'm going to be off the forum for a few days, got to catch up on work and sleep. PM me any fixes. I'm already looking towards v0.30.
Oh yeah, if you're getting more value from your Hermes, send some support first to XDA-Dev (this place is expensive to maintain) then to the guys who came before me and if anything is left for me it's appreciated but make sure XDA and those who built the foundations I based this on get their fair share. See the list in my threads...

Come on guys, for all intensive purposes HTC and Microsoft where planning on screwing us by not giving us an update. Since so far their take is "Hell, you want WM6, then buy a new phone!" Yeah, like as if the TyNT is a $50 dollar candy bar.
Here come these guys and not only set the vanilla but are working on an improved version of WM6.
Even two bucks is better than just words --more is better, $5 perhaps? Show your support. I will.

You don't need to send these guys cash, they're made of money and are actually using multiple clones of themselves to work in parallel. Kyphur Mark I sleeps 20 hours a day, don't pity him. He has lost his looks though.

Is this the whole developers team? I thought there were more of them. But now I see their photos I think I understand why they don't get out much... Maybe I'll use this as my today screen

I am getting my g1 here soon so might not be around in dash forum much but i wanted to say thanks to everyone here for their awesome help and work. You guys have made my dash a handheld nuke lol.
lukybandit - 10live and mp3 trimmer are my 2 favorite apps for dash, much thanks for both!
Org/NRGZ28 - Weather app is second to none, reboot option sure beats turning on and off phone every time!! One of the best people on here who has helped me out alot, much thanks to you!

You know I think I read an article about the G1 not having turn by turn voice directions for GPS. I understand there will be developed 3rd party apps but FYI. I'll look for the article.

[Q] Any themers willing to put a old school dialer in their theme?

I was hoping you guys know of a themer, or can point me in the right direction....
I would like my dialer to look like a pay phone, big block silver buttons. I realize pay phones are a thing of the past, but I think it would be really cool looking to have shiny silver buttons on the G1.

Thoughts? With that said, I LOVE the Call button and Delete button on the screen too like the newest Cyan Dialer has... would hope to keep that in there.

I think I am being boycotted from XDA, none of my posts seem to get any response.

You may want to read the sticky in this forum. Android Themes have moved/merged into a single place where you may find all the theme makers.

Prash, thanks man... I know there is that section now, but I thought it was for actually finding themes to download... WTF is this section for now? I figured it was more of a request/Q&A for themes....

There is alot of work and effort that goes into making a theme.
That's why most of the kick-ass themes you DO SEE are updated versions of past themes where the developer has optimized their images, added a new this or that.
You've not been boycotted, but maybe your theme idea just has not generated enough interest.
There has to be some kind of interest in this old school phone dialer idea for it to even be considered.
Even with that, there is lots of work to be done.
I'd recommend that you read the stickies posted about HOW to make a theme. If you are on Windows XP or Vista, it should be pretty simple. It's an easy to follow set of long complex instructions.
If you should do it yourself, you guarantee that NO ONE IN THE WORLD has this kick ass theme.

glad to see that the people with a smaller number of posts actually know the stickies exist and know where to point people. maybe there is some hope for XDA.
and as far as the dialer goes. its mostly editing and changing png files. if you can find a good pic of a payphone dialer, you should be able to do this yourself or with the help of a theme maker.

I've been a lurker for YEARS!!!!
It is only now that I have enough experience to share with others where applicable.
Started with my old AudioVox SMT-5600, Tilt, Wing, Dash and now the G1. Hopefully soon, I'll have the NexusOne

yea i was the same way for a long time. started with the old blackjack and dash lol now im all grown up in android world. XDA has come a longggg way

Here is a preview of what I've been working on, the images are a little too big, so I'll be working on that, and adding background elements. Let me know what you think.

hay guys i was lucky to be invited to a press confrence today held by microsoft at&t and it was all about mango development!
because i was new to useing the live meeting manager and i did'nt get a chance to record any of it SORY! anyway all through the speach i did the only thang i knew how to do was take screenshots and post them in to ms paint haha!
so anyway i know i should have been more prepared but it was my first time attending something like this. Next time hopefully i will beable to record as I beleave thare are 4 more comeing sometime soon. Anyway I snaped pix on the most inportent parts of his presentation as he deminstated just how to take advantage of mangos new fetures! such as multitasking and how it all works and how you can use it in your applications and also how its limmeted to 5 apps i beleve and also how not to use it as you will see in one of the pics wich was the last question he asked everyone wich subject did we not talk about today wich to my knolage was B. Background audio so from thatt chart you can see the other stuff he did cover i wish i was a better wrighter and better at documenting this and i wish i had a great new video for you guys but i did what i could. im Not very experianced in vb myself most of my talent lies in graphic design but Im learing! are'nt we all!
anyway figured id up thease pictures for you guys so you can see how you may beable to implement some of the new fetures bult in to mango in to your applications!
i realy wish i could comment on each one but it all happend so quickly i was lucky to even soke this in!
hopefull you guys will go nuts on this thread talking about the pics and then I can learn even more!

With the new Background File Transfers api.
Cool that at&t and others are holding events like this to help out developers get started on Mango development.

I hadn't heard anything about Background Socket, what is that?

Where there any professional developers like SPB, WEBIS, Illium Inc. Etc in the room? Or was it just the students again learning how to make another RSS Reader using the windows developer tool?

There's only downloads on the rom.ligux.com link do you have a link to any info on it the xda app keeps sending me to blank pages when I click links in posts so a copy pasta link would help or I can search it out later

I saved the xda page for it so I can look more into porting it after this week, ill be really busy this week until Fri but after that ill have some extra time to look into getting it ported over its pretty nice looking not really my style but it looks good and has some potential to be modded into a pretty nice rom for the evo

No problem me and one of my team mates are gonna check it out since we are both busy it will lighten the load and help speed things up although with both of us being busy with work,school,family it will still be slow unless someone else gets on it before we do

Thanks for taking a shot at this. It is an entire ROM, with quick toggles by touching the clock, custom status bar, and alot of customization options. Think MIUI with Extended Settings, on CM7

Edit: and I'm already working on a rom of my own loosely based on decks 1.3 with lots of new goodies I haven't found baked into a rom yet

Haven't had much time yet been busy with work and I flipped my car a week and a half ago trying to avoid a deer and a semi and broke 7 ribs so I haven't been spending too much xtra time in front of the PC except for work

Dude, forget this ROM then, just rest up. I wish you a speedy recovery.

It sucked I hit a muddy patch on the side of the road did like 4 360s hit a downed tree and flipped up into the air and landed roof down crushed the whole top of the car, I was lucky I was alone cuz the passenger side was crushed I actually cut myself out of my seat belt and walked away I was lucky enough to duck as the car was flipping which saved my life, if I hadn't ducked I would have broken my neck

Take a stock cm7 rom and completely replace /system/app and /system/framework with those from a similar device's (hdpi) ligux rom and see if it works.
