Kyphur - How do you do it???

I know this is a new post, and I'll probably get flamed etc...
But, HOW DO YOU DO IT?
You were up before 5am posting a new rom (so no sleep last night).. went to work and still carried on answering questions (good and dumb ones).. then you've got enough sense left to make a good decision NOT to include an embeded radio in WMXL AND close the thread to stop timewasters (like me)...
Go and get some sleep bcos we need you... stop posting for a few days and just watch us get screwed up and sorted out without you - you've already done the hard work, without which there would be no discussion...
Hero worship, hero worship, we're not worthy etc

I'm going to be off the forum for a few days, got to catch up on work and sleep. PM me any fixes. I'm already looking towards v0.30.
Oh yeah, if you're getting more value from your Hermes, send some support first to XDA-Dev (this place is expensive to maintain) then to the guys who came before me and if anything is left for me it's appreciated but make sure XDA and those who built the foundations I based this on get their fair share. See the list in my threads...

how on Earth have Kyphur the XDA-Devs team managed to turn my tytn from a slow WM5 pain to an awesome super speedy WM6 monster!!!

You know what I think we should do too? Send them some coin.
Come on guys, for all intensive purposes HTC and Microsoft where planning on screwing us by not giving us an update. Since so far their take is "Hell, you want WM6, then buy a new phone!" Yeah, like as if the TyNT is a $50 dollar candy bar.
Here come these guys and not only set the vanilla but are working on an improved version of WM6.
Even two bucks is better than just words --more is better, $5 perhaps? Show your support. I will.

You don't need to send these guys cash, they're made of money and are actually using multiple clones of themselves to work in parallel. Kyphur Mark I sleeps 20 hours a day, don't pity him. He has lost his looks though.

Is this the whole developers team? I thought there were more of them. But now I see their photos I think I understand why they don't get out much... Maybe I'll use this as my today screen

My friends says he has this but i have never herd of it.. if you find a pic or thread with this please post it. I would like to see what this looks like.

He's probably referring to SmartToolKit. It adds the snazzy Vista-like task bar, among various other very useful features.

that had me dying in my office right now.

That is too weak I'm already playing Half-Life 2 on mine after overclocking.
I love cooking breakfast and carrying an 200 Watt power supply with my phone hacked with the Quad-core mod. All i have to do is find a socket and i can play online at blazing speeds!....Insane fun!
BTW, my next project is to convert my Iphone into a fully functioning Mac!...

I gave up on the Vista install after I realized I wouldn't be able to take advantage of ReadyBoost thanks to no USB port. That, and my FPS in WoW dropped when calls came in.

by the way. there are many vista themes out...you can just search for them and find them...most are free..ill look around for ya

Im sure you placed rulers and strings up against the screen for that.

General question
How to automatically lock all butons after certain time?
This is very usefull for my wife as she always throw the Excalibur to her big bag when she finishes a call, and sometimes with the movement it presses some buttons and even make calls!!!

there are a couple of pieces of software that will automatically do it. one is smart toolkit, the other escapes me but it's something like autolock or something like that.

If you're a SmartToolkit user there's an option on Control Panel to AutoKeyLock your Excalibur. It has some customizations also it's pretty cool. Check it out, I think that's what you're looking for

Here you go SmartToolkit-SP-RC08 does alot more than keylock, has an XP like start menu, can set up gadgets that are accesible easily and also hotkeys
And on another note..

I am surprised nobody has done this yet...but how about a Dialer that looks like the keypad on a public phone?
This is a screenie from one that was done for the iPhone. If I knew more about the structure of an APK, and how the images were, I would try it myself.

This sounds like a similar request someone made sometime ago, I'll have to look for it because I remember someone made it.

I could do it. I've done lots of phone skins back in my WinMobile days. But I have a great fear that if I did, it would catch on like the incredibly stupid 70's flip clock. Can you imagine anything more ignorant than making a beautiful and versatile digital device look like a completely mechanical and annoying piece of counter technology from the 60's and 70's. The only thing worse would be nixie tubes. Yes, I have seen the nixie tube clock skins. Thank God that did not catch on...

I actually looked into skinning the phone. It's not as simple as replacing some .png files. It would require quite a bit more work. Sorry dude, not for me.

Thank you, I appreciate everyone's work, regardless of if it's my taste or not. The effort everyone puts in to do their own things, is what has made out little Android grow into what we can do today. Ive also found the same, I'd rather use twitter to find stuff out.

Anyways, for the dev's that have been kind enough to contribute to this discussion: I have used 99% of the ROMs available for the G1, and I thank each and every one of you for your hard work. It is greatly appreciated by more people that I am sure you had ever imagined. Keep up the good work.

Yeah, everything is okay. White blood cell count was low this week so I gotta have a booster shot and skip Chemo until next week...
