Well, I was browsing the Hero CDMA forums when I stumbled upon this:
LiGux Ui
Nexus S (HDPI) Version: http://rom.ligux.com
It said that it is a heavily modified CM7.2, so I tried plugging in items from this ROM to CM. Doesn't work. Do we have any devs left that want to take a shot?

Successful Boot! Status: CM7.2.0.1 FEB1 Nightly & Ligux beta6 for Desire.
Data is a no-go.
Phone FC's
SMS is working
MMS is a no-go because of data
Roaming Indicator is on
Drawer is a bit laggy
Awful Translations
Everything else seems to work. Thanks to ajrty33 for jumping in.
EvilKonceptz deserves some credit too. He planned on porting and helping, but got in a terrible accident and got ****ed up. Broke some ribs. Hope you get better br0.

I'm uploading on a ****ty connection (Can You Belive It?!) and will take some time. I will also move this to the development section once i get done uploading.
I may give it a shot at some point ill be busy this week but when I have the free time ill take a look at it if there's enough interest in it
edit: I haven't looked at the page but is it just a launcher or an actual rom? I'm guessing rom since it says modded cm7.2
This looks amazing, I hope an EVO 4G dev will pick it up.
There's only downloads on the rom.ligux.com link do you have a link to any info on it the xda app keeps sending me to blank pages when I click links in posts so a copy pasta link would help or I can search it out later
Edit: nvm I went to quote your original post and copied the link from there
I saved the xda page for it so I can look more into porting it after this week, ill be really busy this week until Fri but after that ill have some extra time to look into getting it ported over its pretty nice looking not really my style but it looks good and has some potential to be modded into a pretty nice rom for the evo
Thanks a lot for looking into this.
No problem me and one of my team mates are gonna check it out since we are both busy it will lighten the load and help speed things up although with both of us being busy with work, school, family it will still be slow unless someone else gets on it before we do

Thanks for taking a shot at this. It is an entire ROM, with quick toggles by touching the clock, custom status bar, and alot of customization options. Think MIUI with Extended Settings, on CM7

If I knew how I'd be all over this...just let us know if you make any progress (As long as your family, school, and work aren't negatively affected)
Any good news for this project?
Fixingto start opening up the files when I'm done working today and get on chat with the Guy who's gonna work on the port with me
Good stuff, thanks.
Since it is based on cm we r trying to decide if we r gonna port the whole rom or just the mods and launcher
Edit: and I'm already working on a rom of my own loosely based on decks 1.3 with lots of new goodies I haven't found baked into a rom yet
Whatever you guys think is best and I wouldn't mind testing your rom if you need a tester.
New?
Any progress?
Haven't had much time yet been busy with work and I flipped my car a week and a half ago trying to avoid a deer and a semi and broke 7 ribs so I haven't been spending too much xtra time in front of the PC except for work
We are legion, for we are many
...
Dude, forget this ROM then, just rest up. I wish you a speedy recovery.
It sucked I hit a muddy patch on the side of the road did like 4 360s hit a downed tree and flipped up into the air and landed roof down crushed the whole top of the car, I was lucky I was alone cuz the passenger side was crushed I actually cut myself out of my seat belt and walked away I was lucky enough to duck as the car was flipping which saved my life, if I hadn't ducked I would have broken my neck
We are legion, for we are many
Take a stock cm7 rom and completely replace /system/app and /system/framework with those from a similar device's (hdpi) ligux rom and see if it works.

I was hoping you guys know of a themer, or can point me in the right direction....
I would like my dialer to look like a pay phone, big block silver buttons. I realize pay phones are a thing of the past, but I think it would be really cool looking to have shiny silver buttons on the G1.

Thoughts? With that said, I LOVE the Call button and Delete button on the screen too like the newest Cyan Dialer has... would hope to keep that in there.
I think I am being boycotted from XDA, none of my posts seem to get any response.
You may want to read the sticky in this forum. Android Themes have moved/merged into a single place where you may find all the theme makers.
Prash, thanks man... I know there is that section now, but I thought it was for actually finding themes to download... WTF is this section for now? I figured it was more of a request/Q&A for themes....
I'm NOT a fan of the new categories/
@s15274n
There is alot of work and effort that goes into making a theme.
That's why most of the kick-ass themes you DO SEE are updated versions of past themes where the developer has optimized their images, added a new this or that.
You've not been boycotted, but maybe your theme idea just has not generated enough interest.
There has to be some kind of interest in this old school phone dialer idea for it to even be considered.
Even with that, there is lots of work to be done.
I'd recommend that you read the stickies posted about HOW to make a theme. If you are on Windows XP or Vista, it should be pretty simple. It's an easy to follow set of long complex instructions.
If you should do it yourself, you guarantee that NO ONE IN THE WORLD has this kick ass theme.

glad to see that the people with a smaller number of posts actually know the stickies exist and know where to point people. maybe there is some hope for XDA.
and as far as the dialer goes. its mostly editing and changing png files. if you can find a good pic of a payphone dialer, you should be able to do this yourself or with the help of a theme maker.
Yo....If you find me a good pic of the old school dialer, I'll get this made up for you.

Gonna try it using that pic. Should have it up by Wednesday night.

I don't have or use Android but that is sweet! Any way you could post some PSDs so I can make a WM version?

I really like it, but think it would look cooler without the black background. I want it to look like you picked up a payphone and are looking at the silver face.
How does an HTC Flyer ROM sound? Well too bad. It doesn't work well.
The apps don't fit well, the camera doesn't work and I've not really bothered trying anything else.
I'm positive I'll need to mess with the framework.
Details;
Mix of Virtuous Unity (framework and lib files and stuff) and the Flyer ROM for the DHD (apps and base ROM).
Launcher actually rotates! Although it don't fit right.
Apps - don't even ask. Tonnes of Force Closes and shiz.
Put simply, I'm posting this thread to raise epic hype. Since I won't have much time for this till Sunday/Monday night. I'll maybe post what I have as a proof of concept, but till then not much can happen.
Ah balls it soft rebooted....
Meh. Enjoy the dream peeps, enjoy the dream.
Stuff I need to fix - Soft keyboard, app sizes, framework, strings, setup wizard, probably the settings app, and loads moar.
Mind you, I have it. You don't. TROLOLOLOL!!
Reserved for stuff.
RESERVED FOR MOAR STUFF!!
Also 1200th post.
Balls I meant 1100. Meh.
Good luck. I look forward to trying this. If you need anyone to test anything during development I'm happy to help. I have a very boring job which gives me loads of spare time to mess around with my phone.

Testing? Nah not yet. I need to make the phone at lease a little usable. IE test all teh functions and stuff. Then next on the list would be making all the apps fit. Which I was gonna leave to the dev of the DHD Flyer port
If you know anything about resizing the apps, or editing frameworks (although I don't know which ones and what to change), thats what I need help with right now.
I don't particularly believe in testing, I'll release my WIP when I'm slightly happy with it, and then perhaps use beta testers for a final release.
I may actually mess with this today, but after that its a wait till Sunday/Monday till I can really start. Got cadets tonight then I'm going away with them from Friday night to Sunday sometime. XD
I also love how every ROM I post gets like 1 star, compared to the 4/5 stars the rest of the forum has.
Cheers community! I'll remember that so that my next ROM doesn't come here, clearly you don't want it.

Really excited that everything is moving so quickly and can't wait to get my flashing fix in. I saw this ROM in the international SGS2 section and since i dont know anything about developing I'm kindly making a request for one of you awesome Devs to port this.
Ok since this is moving slower than a snail n even though I have never developed before I'm going to take a crack at porting this over.. Everybody keeps saying that they are waiting for permission from crysis even though I have already said that he's given us permission and also offered to help anyone trying to port it over so now it's time to just nut up and go for it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1194765
Hey everyone i have spoken with Crysis and he is gonna help me do a quick port until we can build something from the E4GT source.
So i decided to flash the original zip from crysis page and it booted up on the E4GT and i also flashed the lostkernel and it helped with some of the button mapping. Just thought I'd give a little progress report.
bump +1, this looks hot.
Looks like this could be a tough one to port because of all the XML edits and such. Hopefully someone is brave enough to do this.
Just the theme, or the entire ROM?
just the theme i guess
Check in galaxy s2 themes rhread.

Very Nice!
very good suggestion. ^_^b
Well I think if enough of us requested it from the original dev, he would port it over. I believe it started on the Galaxy S phones then came to the Captivate (where i used it and loved it) and then got ported to the SGS II International version. So i bet he'd do it. Just send him a message, hes a very nice guy.
I heard back from the original developer. He said he would be happy to help with the port but he needs a developer from our side to do it (even a rookie will do)

I've been trying to learn more about dev and theming in the limited spare time I have so I'm still a noob. I do not know how helpful I could be if any but If you would like any extra help I would like to help even if it is just something basic so I can hopefully get a better understanding of android overall.
If you want to help n have some development experience message the main Creator of the project Crysis in the link in the first post

So far, slimrom has been my absolute favorite ics rom of all those I've tried...buuuuut, like many of you, one of the little things i've been scratching my head about is the boot animation. I honestly think it can be better. I can't even remember another rom in which i had to go to such extent as to make my own and learn how to install it in my phone. I can tell you from this early on, i don't like much customization on my phone. I'm in love with simply and clean minimalism.
Anyways, I'm already yapping too much so without further ado, i'll just post my version of slim's boot animation.
:review::

To install just follow these steps:
1. Download
2. Place on your internal memory (SD Card)
3. use your root explorer of taste such as Supermanager, Astro, or (my personal favorite) Solid Explorer.
4. copy the "bootanimation.zip" file and paste it to the system/media/ (this will replace the current boot animation so i suggest you make a backup copy in case anything goes wrong)
don't be shy and post comments and opinions below. i'm open to any suggestions
P.S. if anyone wants a flashable of this animation, just request and i'll be willing to take a look at some tutorials to make it happen.
Nice work dude, lovely and smooth, a little bit dim, but otherwise great work going to link this on slim thread
Yeah! that's really nice! but also on my opinion it's quite too dark... please make it brighter and it will be perfect!
Veery nice.I liked it too much ...
We should talk about this with krarvind slaphead.Shouldn't we?
But he probably won't accept it he wants less than 100kb.But this is sooo soo cool

No need to hassle K, so easy to instal boot animations, I view them as personal tweaks, not ROM tweaks
glad you liked it!
thx all and i'm glad you liked it! i originally wanted to do something VERY subtle and therefore the dimness got played down, but if you'd like, i could get it up so it gets more noticeable. i honestly like the new slim stock animation, but i will be glad to keep on working on some on my own if there is enough demand ^_^
PS sorry for the long absence, i've been extreemly busy and a little sick lately but i'm picking up my usual speed again (slowly but surely)

Download the zip. Unpack it. Delete the getprop portion of the updaterscript. Flash it and see what happens. The mount points match our vzw...should work.
I could try doing it, I used to back in the samsung stratosphere days. lol

I've got a couple builds of this here somewhere.
If I can find them and they run like I remember, maybe I will post one up.
I just recall building it and thinking, this sure is pretty vanilla for PA.
In other words, it's pretty basic stock Kitkat right now, with very few extras.
But like I said, if I can find it and it runs like I remember, maybe I will post it up, or maybe it's time I make a fresh build.
Will have to see what kind of time I have...lot going on right now or I would say I will post for sure.
I've also got an IOAP build I was considering posting if there is interest in such a thing...
