HTC Kaiser ROM dump to "official" P3600 WM6 ROM? - P3600 ROM Development

Specification wise, the Kaiser seems to be a Trinity with keyboard and WM6. Would a Kaiser ROM dump be useful in creating an "official" P3600 WM6 ROM or is the keyboard a show stopper?

I think since the Kaiser uses a different Qualcomm chipset you'd have driver issues....

Kaisar is completly different - As one major difference
Kaosar runs a qulacomm processor and trinity runs a samsung one

I noticed the different processor. I've got to stop thinking PC where the processor doesn't matter if it's designed to operate Windows.

No every processor had a different way of operating. Like TI OMAP etc.

Also the Trinity has 128/64 while the Kaiser has 128/256.

How to run software for PDAs on Smartphones

Hi everyone,
I have just recently switched from Qtek 9100(identical to I-mate K-JAM, 02 mini S and MDA Vario) to Qtek 8310 (identical to I-mate SP5 and O2 Orion). None of the programs I used to work with can install on my new phone. I have heard that maybe you have to emulate touchscreen in order for them to work.
Can somebody help with thi problem?
Thank you
Smartphone OS lacks lots of functions/features that are present on a PocketPC. Not only the touchscreen is missing, search microsoft.com for the complete list of differences. Generally it is impossible to force any complex PocketPC app to work on smartphone. But the reverse process is not difficult - most of smartphone apps can be patched to run on a PocketPC.
recall something about wm2005 being able to run smartphone applications
not sure if wm2005 for smartP's can also do pda applications
there is also the issue of smartphones being much less powerfull then pda's to think about
Maybe there is an option, or.... ?
Thanks guys, as for the hardware specs of the phone they are the same as my previous PDA - CPU is TI OMAP 200Mhz, 64ROM, 128 RAM, I have also inserted 1GB mini SD card and the OS is Windows Mobile 5.0.
If anyone can help with this I am still hoping to find a solution

Manila 2D rom suggestion for a newbie

Hello guys, I bought my HTC P3300 more than two years ago, but I still apreciate it a lot and I don't wanna change with a new model now!
Nevertheless I would like to update the ROM since I'm basically tired of the graphic, of the need of the "pen" for almost all the operations, which the official wm6 rom offers.
But I'm a totally newbie in mount cooked roms, and also in the choice of which one could be good for my needs!
I read a bit around, to understand what was the most suitable coocked ROM, but i get very confused.
As far as I understand, when a ROM claims "Manila 2D" means that the interface is "diamond" style but lighter (needed since the 200MHz cpu of the artemis with respcet to the >500MHz of the diamond) due to the 2D instead of the 3D graphic. Is it true?
If is it like this, I would like to have some suggestion for a manila 2D good rom, since I would like to have a diamond style GUI on my artemis.
PS: I will not go to update rom every months, I think I will mount one up to the end of the days of my artemis, so I would like to have some suggestion of some ROM as much stable and fast as possible, is not important that has no last version of the programs mounted on it etc...
Thank you in advance for the suggestions,
Bye,
Dins.
hey
well about the manila 2D right our artemis can't handle 3D cuz of the CPU, RAM & graphics (as i know)
it's been long time ago since i used manila cuz it eat much RAM for me so i prefer a clean rom while u will don't need the stylus too in it
anyway the best one i used with manila is the Flyrom (search for it) but newer builds i don't know about them with the manila

6.1 ROM with M3D

Hey
Is there a ROM for Trinity / P3600 with Manilla 3D?
Guess that it would be impossible to have M3D on Trinity...
Trinity doesn't have a processor capable of that (as far as I know...)
On the other hand it requires too much memory to run. Trinity only have 64 MB of RAM.

Does Rhodium have driver issues [?]

Greetings
Does Rhodium have driver issues like the HTC devices based on the MSM7200 and MSM7500 chipsets from Qualcomm?
for more about the "driver issues" visit this link
Update: (The following page has been last updated at 2008)
http://www.htcclassaction.org/
If yes, .. is there a solution? ... and does it really effect the normal performance of the device or is it just in "3D games" or something like that?
Note: I found a topic about it but it was not related to Rhodium, ... i wanted to ask about Rhodium specifically and since the topic there are not specifically for Rhodium users, ... i posted it here
Cheers

I did read that from the website, ... but the last update of that page was at 2008 thats 2 years ago and the Rhodium did not exist at that time .. so i was wondering wither the Touch Pro2 have the same problem
seriously? .. noone is aware of this issue?
Enhanced D3D Drivers
I know, there is a cab files supposed to increase TP2 graphics possibilities. Especially for video and games. It is a cab file. The name is:
At0mAng Enhanced D3D Drivers but I can't find it, for the moment.
Keep on searchin'.... ;-)
I'd say that every Windows Mobile HTC with a Qualcomm MSM7xxx processor has graphics driver problems. While it may not be nearly as bad on the Rhodium as it was on previous devices, all the devices still underperform. It could just be Windows Mobile, but if you put an Android device with proper GPU drivers (aka any Android device) and put it next to a Pro2 and run some kind of graphics benchmark on each, the performance difference is staggering between the two. Even the HD2 has graphics problems, and unofficial drivers had to be released to replace the under performing drivers included.

Thanx for the input! i guess you're right, the TP2 has this problem, .... but the Custome D3D seems to work like a charm, .. wonder wither it will have effect in the PS emulator

[Q] Ipaq HX2XXX series and WM5 instability?

I have an old HP2495b and I've reformatted it several times, upgrading to WM6.1 and WM6.5. Neither have left my device "responsive" and/or usable. While WM5 allows my PDA to run larger applications like coreplayer, it's not exactly stable. I'm consistently getting application boot freeze and little issues here and there which require hard reset.
I'm looking for a minimalistic WM5 ROM compatible with the HP hx2495b or hx2XXX series which is either hacked for stability or minimalism, but I still need to keep bluetooth and 802.11b compatibility. I'd even kick around the idea of using linux on the device if I could find a compatible distro.
Unfortunately, it seems "the scene" has moved on from WM5 because the only ROM edits I can find are upgrades to wm6.1 and wm6.5. Any solutions?
