Hi,
Just installed custel's pro cingular wm6. Curiosity about this auto send receive.
I would like the 1x a day setting in Outlook, for my IMAP account. What I'd like to know is what TIME it does this, and how if any way can i control it?
I am hoping to accomplish this w.o. using a scheduler app.

Hello All,
Has anybody gotten the T-Mobile email trigers to work after upgrading to WM6? I am not having any luck. I am getting the trigger SMS messages, but they are not transparent and do not trigger outlook to send/receive. This is by far, for me at least, the biggest drawback to the upgrade.
Any help appreciated.
You could try PushEffect to handle the trigger SMSs:

I just added them as email accounts in Outlook.
These are the settings:
pop3/smtp: myemail.t-mobile.com
user: yournumber:1 (depending on how many accts you have... they go :1, :2...)
pw: the password for your account
so like user: 1234567890:1
pw: xdadevrocks

Yes, I added them in this way too. I was even able to intall the myemail.t-mobile.com application that will retrieve the settins for you (the same one that came with WM5). that is not my problem. my problem is with the triggers. they are not triggering. the trigger SMS messages come, but they just sit in my inbox and do not trigger outlook at all.
I finally called T-Mobile tech support to ask what the deal was. Well, the tech informed me that the trigger functionality was removed from WM6. Bummer, triggers were as close as non exchange users could get to true push email. Now I have to decide if I will go back to WM5.

Use the MyEmail app to setup the account for myemail.t-mobile.com, sign in to my T-mobile and disable alerts (stops text messages), change the account settings in your phone "Automatic Send/Receive" for how often you want to update (I set mine for "Every 15 minutes"). It's not immediate updates, but should handle most cases.

PushEffect works beautifully! I just set up the account in My T-Mobile E-Mail to get my GMail, and set up the account on my phone that checks the My T-Mobile E-Mail. Then set up PushEffect to monitor that account, with the following settings:
Activate when SMS sender area contains:
[leave blank]
Activate when SMS body area contains:
ID:LOGINGIVENBYTMOBILE
For example, a t-mobile e-mail login could be 2223852434:1, so the SMS body area would be set to: ID:2223852434:1
Also make sure that SMS "Alerts" are set to ON for that account on the MyT-Mobile website.
I really have no idea what the problem is here. I used to be able to send emails fine when I had WM 6.0 installed. I upgraded to 6.1 which automatically found imap settings for Yahoo Mail. This was working fine to send emails until recently.
Now I cannot seem to send emails at all but I can recieve them fine over imap. My phone (T-Mobile Vario II) doesn't seem to want to allow me to set up Yahoo Mail using the POP protocol; it automatically defaults to IMAP and gives me no option. I'm using Pays WM 6.1 ROM (build 3.05) if that makes any difference to anyone.
It's getting very frustrating not being able to send emails when I've just read an urgent one I've received!
Current settings are:
Incoming: imap.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing: smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com (with authentication)
(No SSL on either server)
I don't seem to be able to find the port numbers.
Any help much appreciated!
thats the same settings i have and mine works, double check that the proxy is not enabled if you are using media net.
I had the same issue with CRC's rom. I'm lazy, so here is what I did:
1. Delete the account you created (imap).
2. Create a new account, but on the email field write something like [email protected] ...etc. (i.e. mispell yahoo)
3. Now it will ask you to setup the account manually, i.e. Internet mail, POP3, etc.
I use:
incoming -> pop.mail.yahoo.com:110
outgoing -> smtp.mail.yahoo.com:25 (Required SSL)
Hope this helps.
Many thanks dgaud007,
I hadn't thought of that and so obvious as well. Will be trying that immediately!
im having this same issue since goin to 6.1 on a Dash. Tried the yaho.com suggestion elow but it still won't always send.
Any ideas?

Win Mobile has always auto configured my Yahoo! account to IMAP (which I am pretty happy about anyway)... That said, I'm using a yahoo.co.uk account.. Don't know whether it applies to yahoo.com accounts..
I have tried using the Auto Configure and tried configuring it manually. Still cannot send about half of the time. Very weird because it always worked fine until I went to the 6.1 ROM.

From what I read in one of the Kaiser threads from incognito there was a brief mention of a bug in the 6.1 builds were about 1/2 of the time the logon authorization fails. It has happened to me even on the new 19213 version. I don't know how to fix it at this point (if it's something that can be done after the ROM is cooked). I'm using PAP authentication for now, and so far, haven't seen the issue again.
I'm still having this same issue. Anyone else? Any ideas on how to make Yahoo! outgoing email work with Kavana's 6.1 ROM?

How can I get IMAP working again?
I have recently installed Windows Mobile 6.5 on Kaiser. I was able to access yahoo mail for some time but now I can not both send and receive mails. I have also tried the method incoming -> pop.mail.yahoo.com:110
outgoing -> smtp.mail.yahoo.com:25 (Required SSL) and it is also not working. I have recently installed G-Profile and 3G Dialer may be they have caused the problem.
Is there a way to have advanced options for configuring your send/recieve schedule for imap email? When I use actiesync (and hotmail btw) I can configure it so that it only retrieves mail during the day and not at night, for example. Since I have 4 mailaccounts, I need to use imap.
I cannot change this in the settings, is there a way to do this through a plugin or app?
Anyone? There must be more people that would like functionality like this I'd guess!
Email Scheduler
Maybe this is what you're searching for: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=438970
Thanks, thats exactly what I needed!
I use it and it works fine on X1
I was wondering if there is a way to set up a schedule for when the stock windows mobile email program on the Tilt 2 can send/receive emails. I have it set to rend/receive every half hour, but I don't want it to keep sending/receiving while I am sleeping because of the tone and flashing led when I get new emails. I also do not want to turn off the tone or led during the day because I work in a loud environment, and without these things I may not know when I get new messages.
bump......
Hi, maybe this can help you, It work with my GMAIL account (sync with m.google.com (ms exchange))
Go in ActiveSync, chose menu and go to Schedule. You can use peak time at bottom.
If you have Hotmail
go to windows mail, then choose menu, tools, options. chose HotMail and go in Sync Schedule.
You have the option ''during these times''
I have my GMAIL and Hotmail no sync when I sleep. so it don't ring if I receive a new mail.
Hope that help you
Hi all,
I am using the following 'mail' programs :
TouchDown for Exchange Mail
Gmail for my gmail
Mail (the standard HTC Sense one) for a pop3 mail account
I can adjust the polling frequency in TouchDown and in Mail, but do not seem to find the frequency in Gmail. Am I blind , did it change in my last Android update or is this on push all the time.
If it is on push, what alternatives do I have to mail (TouchDown does not take non-exchange accounts). I want the notification to be different from my TouchDown and mail account. Any ideas.
Thanks in advance,
Ruud
I don't think you can change the frequency on Gmail as new emails are psuhed to your phone as you receive them.
Hi Olivierlee,
thanks for your reaction. That's exactly what I am afraid of. But what I want to achieve is a not so frequent polling of gmail, I am not using it so much and would hope to save some battery time. Touchdown is also not at push for the same reason.
What other software would be good to recommend allowing to install polling frequency and notification variants.
regards,
Ruud
Why don't you set up Gmail from the Mail app?

I guess the main reason is that I am afraid that I can set only one notification sound for incoming mail from both my pop3 account as well as gmail. Now (while using different programs) I can set different sounds, and I really do prefer that.
I will be playing around with the HTC mail client somewhat and eventually decide what way to go. Anyway thanks for confirming gmail is actually a push only client.

Ruud
I suggest you try a free app from the market called k-9 mail. Its got all the features of the stock htc mail app and then some. Including the ability to set per account ringtones.
Sent from my performance enhanced Desire HD.
Hi Dr.M0x,
thanks for this proposal. K9 installed now, certainly looks to have all necessary options, now some getting used to and adjusting.

Ruud
