O2 XDA IIs problem... - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Hello~ How ya doing ppl? Hope ya r all fine...
I have a PPC O2 XDA IIs and I just hope ya can help me with my problem... I just hope ya can forgive my ignorance about PPC... I bought the PPC with the latest O2 rom with windows mobile 2k3 SE, which I had a lot of problems with the auto hard reset thing... So several months ago I installed a random wm5 rom, that kept reseting by itself but never lost any data so I was happy with that because i didnt have 2 backup and restore all the time... Yesterday, I installed the Helmi Rom AKU 3.2 rom, which I really love this rom cuz made my PPC much faster and has a lot of new stuffs pretty usefull...
The problem I have is that my PPC keeps resetin by itself, even if I'm not using it... The rom works perfectly to me, but even though I dunno why my PPC keeps resettin by itself... I've tried searchin for months and found some answer that are no longer useful for me... Many ppl uninstalled the O2 connect and take out the connection.exe from the startup... But with this rom, I dont have O2 Connect neither I have the connection.exe...
Hope ya can help me, i've been tryin for months tryin to solve this without any luck and I cant buy another model, because in the country where I live they dont sell good PPC...
I really appreciate yar help and ill be lookin forward for yar answer...
Well, Im gonna keep searchin some answers... Thank you...

u havnt jammed anythin in the reset button have u ??? (stupid question i know but i did it got stylus tip stuck in and kept resetting itself)

No, it's not stuck... I rarely reset it by myself... I only did it when I upgraded the ROM... Even though, Im gonna check to be sure~
Thanx for yar answer... Im still searching but its kinda hard~ I really dunno wut 2 do~

Check your battery...if ti's not an original battery you may have this issue. I purchased an extended battery and used with my XDA IIs, worked fine for quite a while and then....boom hard reset...I thought it was the OS / SW / apps - changed all without success. Then after reading on here about issue people were having with non-original batteries I stopped used the extended...resulting in the issue resolving...check out the accessories forum for further info.

Thanx for yar answer... Even though, I have 2 original batteries so I don't think its an battery issue... But, I've been searching and finally found something different... Many ppl were having problems with the Resco Today Plugin, they uninstalled it and they said they made their PPC more stable...
I'm gonna try it, and somedays later I'll let ya know...
*I already uninstalled the Resco Today Plugin... So far, its working perfectly... Maybe it was the same problems were having some users who owns Axim and O2 XDA IIs... I'll let ya know, some days later if its already solved...

do u mean the o2 today plug in????? to get rid of it u can hard reset and set it to corporate and the code is 0506 even though im sure i saw this posted elsewhere......<.<

No, I meant Resco Today Plugin... I already upgraded to WM5, so the O2 Connect its gone...
Even though, I solved my problem... I don't have any resets at all~ Its the same thing with the AXIMs... The only thing ya have to do, is to disable any today plugin that see how much battery left ya have or any kind of stuffs that analize or check yar hardware...
I replaced the Resco Today Plugin with the SPB Pocket Plus, taking out the battery and memory bar...

O2 RELEASE ROM UPGRADE FOR XDA2S

I have been sent a link from O2 Data Support for downloading the new XDA2s ROM upgrade, which apparently will fix the Bluetooth problems.
The link is...
http://www.sourceo2.com/O2_Developers/Devices/O2_Xda_II/XdaIIs_launchROM.htm
Haven't done anything with it yet, but thought you guys might like to know...
regards,
Guy
Hmm I wonder if I can use this update on my O2 Xda2s.
I got it in Malasyia.
Noel
I installed it on my UK XDA 2s, I will report back later.
In the PDF it's saying that this version is only for devices sold by O² UK or O² Ireland... Not sure if I should give it a go on my version..
Noel
I think I might wait and see what others say about this before I install it myself. So many that have it already say it is great but then you hear others say it has caused problems.
That post is the launch rom, not an upgrade. LMAO It is intended for people who attempt to flash the XDA IIs with a different vendors rom and screw it up.
Mike
Nope, its not, click the link. O2 are obviously just too lazy to create a new page for a new rom!
Nigel
HAHA you are correct!!! LMAO oh well.
Hi..have installed the update..and have encountered several problems...was wondering if anyone could help me.
I hate the fact that the clock has disappeared from the top right so whe u are using applications its no longer visible. Is there any way of bring it back?
Also now when you click the o2 at the top it dosn't give the active connections anymore. Therefore whats the quickest way to disconnect the gprs? and is there any way of bringing that back to how it used to be?
I have also had to reset my phone more often that I had to before.
Was wondering if anyone had encountered the same problems and how to resolve them.
Thanks so much...
Bit the bullet and upgraded last night, wifi still works and as I use Corporate mode I don't get any issues with 02 active, icons or clocks. All seems normal, so far!
Have to agree with Dave. I finally bit the bullet and installed the update last night. Don't like the new O2 active and put the clock straight back with the registry key.
Other than the missing clock and poor O2 Active software which I never use anyway no real problems. Tom Tom still works fine with my Bluetooth GPS receiver. WIFI still works fine with WPA security and everything locked down on the access point.
Still receive SMS notification and its nice that you're not limited to 70 char when using ' in sms text messages now!
All ok.
har5ha:
Just get the old O2 active back. To to this, head to the xda-dev FTP site, find the old O2 XDA IIs extended rom, pull it, find the file install.ARM.CAB (O2 active)
Sync/backup yr stuff then hard reset the XDA IIs, and let it do its stuff. When leave it to install the extended rom, but be ready to soft reset it when you get asked the 'corporate/personal' question (you'll have to watch the screen since there is a timeout). Once it reboots, copy install.ARM.CAB to the machine, and execute it. It will soft reset yr device at the end.
I use 2 things from O2 active, the battery plugin and the O2 icon to kill connections. Shame billy did not think to include a disconnect dialogue as well really (he put on in for vpn).
There might be a way to install old over new, dunno. I tried and it locks loads of files (even if you prevent it from loading).
Nigel
thanks Nigel...I ended up installing gb soft for the disconnect button.
So its ok...still getting loads of crashing. I think am going to reinstall it and then use corporate mode..hopefully it will crash less!
can I get an update on xda iis rom update
Hi all, I'm still new to this whole thing but reading and researching all I can. Don't have an xda iis as of yet, but on the high streets waiting list. I like the phone and in one way, can't wait, but don't want problems when I get it, especially at the price. Can anyone on o2 that has purchased their phone from o2 let me know how you are getting on...problems...ect, before and after the update.? To be honest, I'm a bit afraid to bite the bullet and get one right now due to what I'm hearing...especially since I'm not very computer smart. I do understand that it depends a lot on the manufacturer of the phone but if I had problems like I'm hearing about it would really do my head in...(no patience). Thanks
Well I love my phone to bits...had issues with the update but now that I have hard reset it and put it corporate mode its not freezing anymore.
But you have to remember its a pocket pc...like a pc..will need to be reset every so often...I was resetting mine of average once a day. It just takes a minute.
There are some negative points..but the positive outweighs the negative I think. My old pda was palm os (clie) and this is windows which is really good! As well as the fact that it has a phone built in too!
Hi all.
Can you please post some more feedback on this rom.
How is the BT stability?
Range?
Crackling noise?
License Expired troubbles?
I know its Build 3500, but maybe something else in this rom makes a difference.
How about the problem with sound dissapering when you answer a call.
Any troubbles here? This is really a pain in the (_!_)
Running the New Rom for a couple of days now and it seems much better than the launch Rom, The O2 active stuff is just as pants as usual so remove that and the "Connections" exe from Windows\startup.
Best thing is that it's stopped the annoying bug of the GPRS settings being screwed up when you enable/disable Wi-Fi.
Recommend it myself

O2 xda 2s endless problem help......rom etc..

Hi all, well, i have the newest version of the o2 rom installed on my xda2s that i downloaded from o2 website. now my first question is this,
1) can i downgrade to a previous operating system and if yes, then how and where can i download it, if not then i need help with the following....
2) after a hard reset or a clean install with the new rom, after the o2 active stuff has installed, my xda2s seems to crash all the time, now i noticed it too much 2 weeks after i got it, and sent it to the o2 shop for them to have a look at it, and didnt get it back for a few weeks... NOT A GOOD START.. i got it back and had an older version of windows 2003 second edition installed, so it looked like they just wiped it and put an earlier(more stable) version back on.... now i decided to take a chance and tried the windows mobile 2005 but no luck, so had to download and install from o2.co.uk
and now im back to square 1. crashes 5-6 times a day
3) also relating to the above, if i hard reset or clean install, before o2 active stuff is installed, i have a digital clock in the corner of my screen top right, after o2 active install its gone, i cant get it back, Any ideas how to solve this, its doing my head in as i like to look at the time on it....
i tried the hard reset and switch off before anything installs and also the corporate option too, i couldnt connect to internet and also couldnt send text doing that, and i do actually like the o2 stuff...... i edont use o2 active, but like the battery plugin and the o2 themes and phone skin.
is there another way round this or am i just buggered beyond help????
at least if i can download any previous versions of the o2 version o2 windows mobile 2003 2nd edition, that would be great!!!
anyway chaps, please help
take care guys.....
joey.

They seem to have the old XDAII launch rom's too.

Mine was just the same until I removed all the O2 crap, can't even remember the last time I had to even soft reset but guessing at least a month!
Trick is to put machine into Corporate mode after doing a hard reset (use 0506 when asked for code) you will then get a clean WM2003SE install with NO O2 rubbish. You still even get the O2 GPRS/MMS settings etc..
Worked for me and several others on here

i could quite be an odd FM then, cos this i tried after reading and trying things i see in these forums, this forum is by far the best i found an i plan on staying, I even work for o2 and they can even be bothered to help me
i tried clean install by removing battery before any crap is installed, this worked but no settings, i tried corporate mode, no joy, also in corporate mode my mms and txt and gprs settings were there, but would not connect, so im back to the full whack, with o2 active, I have to admit, i like the o2 active and all the skins and stuff, so id like not to loose them, i tried corporate all day yesterday and noticed that my battery lasted twice as long. so maybe corporate is the best option i dunno, but i really wanna get to a previous version and try that, so ...........

o2uk XDA11s upgrade v1.40.237.. Is it woth doing?

Im running the original rom version, 1.31.00 WWE, Radio Ver. 1.06.00, Protocol Ver. 1337.38, ExtROM Ver. 1.31.139 WWE on my XDA11s. I'm not bothered much about Blackberry (cos i dont really know much about it), so if everythings running ok on my pda is it really worth doing the upgrade? Any comments appreciated, thanx.
If it ain't broke - why fix it
I find it really amazing that out of the 83 views to my topic that there has been one reply, and that wasn't really much help to my enquiery, but can i thank you for taking the time to reply anyway. So i take it that none of the 83 viewers have bothered updating with he official software then??!!
Well, I did it and am kind of regretting it a bit now.
GPRS via Mobile Web seems a bit odd - managed to get my POP3 mail setup OK, but i'll be damned if I can get IE to work - always comes up with Page not Found dialogue box... never used to do this before.
Anyone got any ideas?
SW seems a bit faster, but until I can sort out this IE issue, I am not going to get too excited ... need my IE on the move!

My WM5 is slow even though I applied all the patches , I wish it was smooth like a nice babies bottom lol. WM5 also drains my battery faster, I have downgraded and upgraded 4 times so far and I am too lazy to go back to 1.40.00WM2003SE ROM, give me some advice!
upload the blackberry installation CAB
can anyone upload the blackberry cab that comes with this ext ROM here?
that all I need from this upgrade...
Cheers
I have been so fed up with my XDA11s running slowly since I bought it. I have done all the upgrades, even WM2005 and still it was crap so I have ordered an Exec to see if that is any better. Anyway, out of bordom, I decided to downgrade the 11s back to 2003. did this and still slow, then I noticed the new upgrade so I thought what the hell and installed it.
I have never seen my 11s run so fast! even when I installed all my usual apps it flies. strangely the BT seems to be working fine as well (I gave up on that a long time ago). I have even blown the dust off my BT headset and have started using it again. Makes me think I should'nt have bothered ordering the Exec!
I have also noticed a new Blackberry icon in setting > System. dont use it myself, but I notice a lot of people moaning for it.

Dead O2 XDA Zinc...help!!!

I bought an O2 XDA Zinc just yesterday and successfully updated to WM6 (downloaded via official site: http://www.seeo2.com/user/XdaZinc/template/XdaZinc_WM6_Aug2007_WWE.vm)
My problem started when i was not able to make/receive any calls so i tried soft resetting the device. This did not solve my problem so i proceeded to hard resetting but still the problem persisted. To make matters worse i left the phone to charge for about 10mins and now the phone refuses to boot. It's completely dead. I've tried soft resetting and also removing the battery but still no luck...
Guy's if anyone has come across this problem then do help me out here...i'll wait for your replies before taking it to the customer care centre
breathe....breathe...phew!!...
i am patient...i hope that someone will give a reply with the solution soon
so,did u fully charge ur Battery before starting ur Zinc...?if ur phone cannot make/receive any calls,i think it's caused by ur ROM...u should flash ur ROM again...now u can find a nice battery for Zinc, try to starting ur phone after fully charged...i will post ur problem to some other PDA bbs later...u know,in China,we have a lot of Gosu~Good Luck

...so...how about now?it works...?
btw,do not use USB cable to charge ur Phone at the first time...in fact, can use AC as prossible as u can~
yeah i did charge with d provided AC charger for about 2-3 hrs...it did start once, passed d boot screen n froze at a white screen, so i restarted again and now it's as dead as can be...guess i have to visit the customer care...vil keep u updated...thanks

Tronicvasion were i got it from said that there might be a hack for it i guess. I was wondering do anyone have any info on this. Thanks.

daxian
hi folks!
i got an daxian x999 (which is the same as your t32) and i´m desperatly trying to dump the rom, because i want to modify or even replace it!
if u got to know somethings about hacks or tweaks, please tell me about it!
if someone can tweak it, maybe he even can dump the rom
thanx in advance
chuckbert
p.s.
to have wifi in my phone would be quite cool, too
Hello,
i have the x999+ with working wifi.
If it would be possible to read out my rom. could this be helpfull for you?
michael
rom!
sure it would be helpful... if it would be possible!
i´m trying to do this for a couple of days and i desperately need help from some kind of "rom-god"
so all u "rom-gods" reading this: gimme a hand, please!!!
I do have the 8 Gig mini sd card update for it, but nothing for the wifi yet. I dont even know how to get into the rom to enable it. As for the GPS chip it is over in europe from what i heard.
update
@thepindoctor
what kind of update is it?
just a .cab or something to flash the device?
It is just a cab file for the 8 gig memory card to work and i sure the wifi update will be the same way. I am having so much trouble with this phone rebooting at times and even hard resetting at times, im so glad i kept my wing, gave that to my wife but now im taking it back.
wifi
where did you get the information about the possible wifi-upgrade from?
i´m still very interested in it...
p.s.
i never experienced these kind of problems, though i keep playing around with my daxian to get the bootloader out! kinda strange...

SDHC update and WIFI
To enable SDHC, you can just look for it on the forum, it is on here several times...
Am not sure, but don't think that there will be an "update" for wifi...
The daxian x999/t32 doesn't have it, the daxian x999+/t32+ (which I have) does however...
So don't think you should get your hopes on for a "wifi update", if you would have a wifi antenna built-in, don't you think they would try to make it work from the beginning?
The + version has also been released a couple of months ago and if there would be such an update, I think they would've released it then.
is the sdhc hack a standard wm6 update for all phones? can't find a specific T32 one on here
I have the Wifi Hack App
Its a little dificult to do this:
1) get the pocket hack master (trial version)
http://store.handmark.com/p/910/Pocket_Hack_Master_for_Windows_Mobile_Pocket_PC
2) Shut off BLUETOOTH on 13%
3) Download http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/get-wmwifirouter-v0-89.html
WIFI router
4) on T32 (only T32) go to Settings - Connections - GPRS Stup, name it WIFI (on gprs internet)
5) save and restart t32. Run the wifi router and it will find your connection
And your using T32 wifi . thanks Rex909 the ghost hack master
i think i explained it right if i left something out let me know
That doesn't really make any sense. I've never been able to get Pocket Hackmaster to work with my T32. And how would one "shut off BLUETOOTH on 13%"??? And what would Hackmaster and the WiFi router have to do with each other?
any answer to the sdhc update whereabouts?

****, YES !!! S2U2 and S2V,
Tomorrow, I'll send to china. Now the phone doesn't boot. Only shows windows mobile screen (blue). Nothing more
It's good to know which soft we have to avoid.
I didn't use WMStorage 1.8, SPB MobileShell2.x or the TomTom Navigator.
Only used S2UD and S2V.
Thanks for your info and share it!
personally i dont really think that s2u2 is responsible but maybe...
On the other Hand i had the following sw installed:
OmapClock - which failed at 204 MHZ
ActiveGCSync - a Google Calender Sync Application
GooSync - also a Google Calender Sync App
opera_wm5_ppc_865 - Browser
osmtracker
PCMKeyboard
Pointui 1.51a
SetVolume
SkypeForPocketPc
many GPS and Geocaching Apps
i also deleted the launcher startup link and the TouchFlo3D App.
btw: did s2u3 always behave right when you rotated the screen?
Good luck for your phone
