Please, please help... During an O2 rom upgrade my xda IIs suddenly rebooted and now it is stuck in bootloader mode. I have worked out there is no rom left in the phone.
I have tried evrything I could search for in the forums but I get the dreaded error 101 whenever I try to re run the o2 upgrade. It seems the xda won't connect to anything.
ANY suggestions would be appreciated

I have been scouring this site and many others for hours now and I still am not sure what to do. I tried upgrading my rom and radio on my O2 xdaii via the 02 site. During the process the programme crashed. Now while the XDA is in its cradle it wont charge or register on Async. The screen simply reads USB at the top and v1.01 at the bottom and when out of the cradle SERIAL at the top and v1.01 at the bottom. Have tried all various types of resets but it just keeps coming back to this screen. Is there any hope at all !? when i try to upgrade it using the latest ROM, it says device not recognised, try downloading the correct ROM from the support site and try again, Can someone suggest me a solution for this problem? put ur device in cradle,u'll see USB on top of ur screen,then restart the update process....

i was installing new rom on my device.when it was 12%, the computer got locked and i had to reset.Now,my baby did not reflash again.i tried again but himaupragadeutility gave : communication problem. what can i do now? can anyone help me? so a few people know this device, the others even do not know what pda is. what i can do?????????????????????????????
keep on doing a hard reset until you reach bootloader mode. from there try upgrading again. were you upgrading to 2003se or wm2005?

anything showing on your xda screen? if it's blank then you have to continue doing hard resets. a buddy of mine had the same problem and he was able to bring it back to bootloader mode after 10 or so hard resets.
if something is showing on the screen (like "usb version...something") then this is already bootloader mode. what you do is put the xda back on the cradle but don't expect activesync to recognize it. just put it back on the cradle and then rerun the upgrade.

hi hope someone can help me.i tried updati ng my xda exec after downloading the rom update from o2, and now my pc doesnt recognise the xda and my xda doesnt start its gone completely bank.i tried holding the softkeys and pressing the reset button, it says hit 0 to get back to factory settings and nothing happens........please it looks like my phones gone comatose

try the following
disable usb connection from connection settings in active sync
then re upgrade the rom , and when you reach the screen where it tells u the rom version (it wont tell u this time) u ll HAVE to wait for few seconds before pressing "upgrade" , hopefully it will work this time

hi there, i tried upgrading my 02 xda executive from the software update on O2 website.my active sync 4.1 stopped working in midst and my xda is nt working now.and my pc isnt recognising the xda. the xda isnt starting up its completely dead.I tried hitting the 2 softkeys and the soft reset button and the screen lights up and it says to rollback to factory setting hit 0 zero, but nothing happens................plz help would be appreciated.http://www.my-xda.com/xdaExecSoftware.jsp
also the screen now has USB and v1.00 over it and shows nothing but this and not starting up and my pc pops a message up saying that an unknown usb device and cant be connected
Does anybody have a solution to the above problem as I now have 2 xda execs in the same situation. It's a bloody nightmare! I understand it's in bootloader mode. Just don't know how to get the xda up and running again without sending it off to O2...

LOOK HERE I have been in this situation myself a couple of times. Personally I use method 2 which is at the bottom of the page as it's very easy to follow. I suggest you try this method first.

Those of you having trouble after a Rom Flash. If it goes wrong, start by pressing THE BACKLIGHT BUTTON, THE POWER BUTTON AND PRESS IN TO THE SOFT RESET HOLE ALL at the same time. This should put you back into BOOTLOADER. Then try your rom flash again. If the WM6 fails I re-flashed with the O2 EXEC WM5 first. Forget Active Synch saying it cant etc.
Providing you can just see some very faint words then you are back in bootloader. I have got the original O2 XDA EXEC WM5 Rom files so if you want them, as I can not find out how to put a large zip file on here then I can email it to you. Let me know on

The upgrades just don't happen as the connection error 101 keeps popping up after executing the rom upgrade exe. I don't know how to use the mtty.exe and host.exe to fix the problem. I'm using vista ultimate on my desktop and wm6 rom (jwright 2.02.00) on the jasjar. before i got stuck in the bootloader mode, i remember getting the KITL option on the blue imate boot screen and enabling it. I'm stuck in the bootloader since then. I appreciate this forum and the people here...need your help. Thanks in advance.

Hi people...here's an update on how I came out of my crisis..(for a moment i thought there's some defect caused on the mainboard!) anyways, i went to a lot of threads pertaining to the 'stuck in bootloader topic' and mixed and matched the solutions. here's what i did.
unsuccessful efforts :
used the combination keys with reset to come out of the bootloader in vain.
tried hard-reseting the device in vain.
tried weird key combos in vain.
tried to upgrade rom (on vista ultimate) got connection error 101.
tried to reflash radio rom but got the error even though device was listed in the device manager

Successful Effort:
Just when i thought that i'd have to bring my baby to the service center...i said a prayer to Jesus asking Him to fix it for me. Really got desperate and prayed...I got a check from Him to try using another computer with XP which i did but the Rom wouldn't flash. Still stuck on the bootscreen, I tried the radio upgrade on the computer running XP SP2 with the maupgrade noid stuff and there it was, upgrading the radio rom! I thanked the Lord for helping me for XDA Developers forum and I'm a happy Jasjar user once again. I hope you will get some help from my testimonial which is why I'm posting this!
Hey guys.
Im trying to upgrade my O2 Atom life from WM 5 to the latest O2 official 6.5 WM ROM.
When i tried updating normally by connecting my phone to computer and running the rom setup... my upgrade process gets stuck at Stage 4 with 0%.
If i put my phone in bootloader screen and then upgrade, i get Customer and model ID error.
After reading this forum I tried changing Pass.32 file properties from WWE to CHT and still i get the same customer and model ID error.
I even tried uploading those two files al1.dio and ext rom to a mini sd and upgrade through bootloader that doesn't seem to work either.
Can someone please guide me what else can be done step by step.

Ps - im using latest Windows Device center with windows vista.

hey guys... any help would be appreciated.... my phone turns off on its own and then when i click power on.. it goes straight to DSUU white screen and has to be factory reset so can't really deal with it.. please help upgrading would help.

hey sorry. yeh i have read that page... nothing helps me there... ok so i got my phone upgraded somehow to the latest 6.5.... but i'm facing same problem.. whenever phone turns off or restarts it goes straight to DSUU white screen.. and the only way to come out of it is by ressetting the phone to factory by pressing record + power button n pressing the hole.... to restart.
not sure whats wrong with it.
Have you asked on atom section?
perhaps there you can have more chances
