Hi
I noticed a couple of wierd things with the abovementioned ROM - i was playing around a little to try and get Vodafone Live (No luck there yet)
 MSN Messenger does not work (Not Via GPRS or Wifi)
 I could not connect to my WIFI AP - It seems like i am connected but no activity
P :!: ocket Outlook just says Locating but Opera works via GPRS/3G
 ActiveSync only works through GPRS/3G
After I tried for several days to Sort out my AP(where i thought the problem was) i realised that it might be related to a ROM
I then installed the South AFrica MTN one and everything just came right
I suggest you just take your network settings from the Faulty ROM
Anyone else with MSN PIE and Activesync issues should try out the MTN rom and let us know if it works for you too!!!
Ive seen a lot of the abovementioned type of issues lately
Maybe we all downloaded a faulty rom from the same location ???
here is the English South African MTN rom as Mentioned above
https://www.imate.com/support/JASJAR/ROM/JASJAR_SA_13082_170_10900_wwe_ship.zip
Regardz
i have used the JASJAR_WWE_13076_164_10900_wwe_ship.exe
and everything works superb.
Msn works ,
gprs works (you must configure it )
it mega fast and uses less space .
i've executed almost everything that is avail. in the programs and settings and everything works no hangs and not resets needed.
i don't know if you have downloaded the rom from http://buzzdev.net but i did and it's ok
Maybe you have a bad version but i can sure recomend this rom .
Related
Well i unlockd my mda pro (t-mobile NL) THNX BUZZ AND ALL THE OTHERS WHO MADE THIS POSSIBLE !!
As many i to had no umts with the radio 0.000.00.
So i went searching for a good rom.
I installed the complete imate rom "JASJAR_WWE_13076_164_10900_wwe_ship.exe" taken from http://buzzdev.net
After the LOOONG update i have some notes for many others.
When the rom is updated and your first install is running you can choose many opperators. EG: some opp from austria and all dutch opperators (o2 kpn t-mobile etc there are more but i was to exited so clicked my opperator and went further
i have noticed that this rom is much better than the orriginal t-mobile rom the speed of my mda pro is way better (before tomtom did 2 min before starting even with a cold boot now 10 sec and i;m ready.
Pocket msn works (integrated), i thought i try using this msn sinds all other versions failed , and it works !!
the dial pad is much nicer and the video button works like a charm.
skype is integrated and sind i use skype alot (i have unlimited data) .
Ive used spb pocket plus to force the X button not to close skype but minimize it so it's always running.
the boot time of the device is cut in half in comparisson with the original t-mobile rom.
When you choose you opperator in the install menu the only thing you have to do is set your gprs connection , that info you can find at the site of your opperator.
the only thing i can't tell you is , is stereo bt working i don't know sinds i can't test it.
This is my happy story , i hope some other ppl can do good expirience with this rom .
I can sure recomend it for the dutch t-mobile users , but i think that other countries can have the same results.
I am sure this has been covered elsewhere but I have searched extensively and cannot find a solution to this.
I am having problems syncing with Windows Live. I have tried pretty much every recent ROM and whenever I go to set up my account, it accepts all my details and goes through the set up procedure, but when it goes to sync, it says Synchronisation has failed because 'Windows Live is unable to connect. The service may be temporarily unavailable or you may be in a place where data coverage isnt very good. please try again later.'
If I log onto the same account on an identical device running wm5 with the non-beta live cab installed, I have no problems.
I have tried with WiFi and 3G and get the same result.
I know its not a problem with signal because I have a wm5 and wm6 device running side-by-side.
When I run the set up on wm5, it automatically initiates an internet connection but on wm6, if I havent already opened up a data connection before starting Windows Live I get an error straight away saying it cant find and active connection.
I have noted that other people have had similar issues but cant find a solution.
The devices I am using are UK Tmobile - could there be a network issue?
Had same problem a while ago when first upgraded to WM6
Tried various flavours including LSVW's but always had the same problem.
I then tried a different radio rom and Custel's great WM6
thankfully all is now working brilliant and never had a problem.
However not sure if this was the change in radio or the flavour of WM6 that caused it to correct.
i also have changed the settings in HTC custom so that in the comms tab i do not have GPRS/3G always on.
I have it set to disconnect.
Hope it helps.
I had this issue as after a few hours I did figure out one POSSIBLE cause.
When I turned off messenger on my PC, then it was able to sync.
You'd think it wouldn't need that but there you go.

Hi, Kindly wanted to CHRISNASH, if the suggestion our fellow guys suggested resolved the issuse of connecting & syncing with window live as i hav the exact same problem? PLEASE...
i'll try the Custel rom tomorrow - its the only one I haven't tried I think. its certainly not an issue with the desktop as I dont have an account logged on.
I'm pretty sure I havent had these issues with my orange sim so it looks as though it might be tmobile related.
I havent used any connection tweaks so it cant be that.
ill also try one of the earlier lsvw roms which I know worked with my orange sim and see if that works.
any other suggestions would be seriously appreciated as I am running a conference with some students next week and I have planned a load of activities using it!
Windows Live not working with t-mobile and wm6
Well, I just tried my orange sim in my wm6 hermes and Windows Live synced fine. I put my tmobile sim in and it wouldnt sync giving the usual error message that it cant find a connection even when there is one. So I guess there is an issue with tmobile UK and Windows Live on WM6. Interestingly I have no such issues with it on WM5. Unless of course its an issue with the Radio version. I'll test that out now and report back.
Its definitely an issue with tmobileUK, wm6 and windows live, cos I just flashed the same device that had wm6, 1.41.00 radio and tmobile sim and wouldnt sync with windows live, with a wm5 rom and kept everything elas the same and it synced just fine!
Any ideas anyone?
Hi folks,
Just a quick question...
I've just switched from the HTC Official WM6 ROM to Shamanix's Grass V1.3
On the HTC Official ROM WLM worked fine; I've installed the WLM 10.6.33.0600 (Fixed) CAB to my device but when it comes to synchronising on the first sign-in it just says that it failed with a message saying there might not be internet connectivity. I've got the T-Mobile UK settings installed and working fine because IE is happy to browse pages (and of course WLM verifies my username and password when first entering)...
I uninstalled this version and also tried the WLM Build 1400 version too and the result is exactly the same.
Does anyone have any idea why it might not be working?
Thanks in advance!
Rob.
the same prob
Welcome in my same Sh..
I have your same problem and unfortunately i couldn't fix it yet,i've tried to change different Roms too,but in vaine.Everything on my device works properly, like Skype,PIE,Etc.But the worst thing is that it doesn't allow me to check my Hotmail on internet too!!!Unbelievable!!!!
I'm using schaps and here it works flawlessly.
You might want to try that otherwise there might be a problem with the account you have at your provider.
i had the same problem, every rom i tried with it cooked in worked fine (black/schaps full etc), but using light roms and any of the various wlm cabs gave me the same errors, my account on wlive was fine.
this issue stopped my use of light roms and ive had to use full roms since.
I'm using a light rom and WLM1600.. works pretty fine..
Hard reset should do the job..
I have just added TNT's 6.1 rom but when I install TomTom 6, I can't get Plus services working.
Checked the username/password/device ID, reset the device on tt.com but it seems to bomb out with network error and not get off the hermes
I have the 6.0.030 version of TT
Any suggestions?
I'm having the same problem. Anyone have any ideas, could it be something on the SD card for the TomTom that needs to be changed or removed?
check to make sure your connections are configured properly. I was having issues with Pay's 6.1 ROM and I found that the 'ISP' connection wasn't working. I had to change the server in the ISP connection settings.

All my other data stuff works so I don't think that's it.

This is acting more like there is a method of connection being used by TT that is no longer there with 6.1
As above, everything else about data (email, IE etc) all work fine
I am running Dr. Faria Clean 6.1 and I just added Nav 6 today (still waiting for my BT GPS). I was able to download some new voices via Plus today without any issues. I also downloaded a new color scheme. I am on the AT&T network. I hope this helps.
Hmm, interesting. I ran Pay's 6.1 and ran into the same problem. I also ran Dr. Fari's full ROM and had the same thing as well. I'll see if I have time today to download and load the Dr. Faria Clean and see what happens.
Did you try to start IE and surf to a page to make sure data connection was working before starting tomtom?
I know some software doesn't seem to be able initiate data connection and will only work if it is already available.

That's not it. Everything else works fine. I was actually streaming internet radio stations when I tried to do it so it's not it.
One more clue.....
Looks like there is some values not being set correctly for connections on AT&T
In the case of the TNT 6.1 rom, it would seem that some apps were defaulting to "The Internet" not Media Net for the connection and not working.
So it would seem that TT might be defaulting to a value that some ROMs are not setting correctly
If someone could tell me where to check my settings I would be more than willing to post them. I would be curious if you could get it to work with faria's clean ROM though. It seems to work great for me.

tt and I did some more testing and ran the CINGULAR WAP cab that I keep for instances such as these. It fixed the problems with some of the applications that weren't connecting to the data network (MobiTV, XMRadio), but Slingplayer and TomTom both had troubles. The funny thing was that when it went to connect it kept trying to connect via the ISP even when MediaNET was selected for both options. Something is definitely not set correctly on TNT 6.1 so I'm pretty convinced that it's a TNT problem and not a 6.1 problem. I've posted the Cingular WAP settings cab for ease of use.
Problem solved......
The problem turns out to be that the Connection Config added an AT&T proxy server.
Delete the proxy server and it all starts working ok
I had MediaNet and 'My ISP' I simply changed the 'My ISP' server to match the one from MediaNet. Everything works. XM, MobiTv, TT6, Google, MS Live, Youtube, etc..
who is also having problems with wlm messenger? tried various versions and disabled the proxy settings but still no luck. Through outlook i can sync email, but not the messenger program for chat.
i use t-mobile and the wlm gives me an error that it can not connect to messenger and it could be the service or my phone, and that i have to try it later
I have had that issue too but it was in a poor network coverage area, when in a good area (even on standard GPRS) it seems to be pretty stable.
Adult content blocker
Hi
I've just switched to T-Mob UK from Orange UK. My sim switches over tomorrow so I've no actual experience to go from but the cust service guy said that their adult content blocker also block IM applications so needs to be removed. You can do this through T-Mob cust service.
Hope that helps, and that I don't have the same problem from tomorrow!
Cheers

I'm also living in the Netherlands, using T-Mobile and I have the exact same problem.
On another site somebody sent me another version of WLM for the device, but after installing that my entire TouchFlo 3D was gone! (Fortunately uninstalling the version fixed the issue again.) But still I cannot get a connection.
Internet is not the problem as I'm using the phone as my internet connection the entire day.
Oops...the initial version has been uninstalled as well now!
Found it again...

Ahh thats a really good point, that was one of the first things I did when I got my new contract! lol
Yeah get it unblocked and the world is your oyster.
Try disabling the proxy for T-Mobile, this worked for me.
John
Also check date is correct, sometimes if date is not well you cant connect
Here a thread with multiple versions of live messenger:

I have the same problem also in the netherlands on t-mobile network
I tried to connect while connected to my WLAN and it returns the same error message!
How can I determine what version I have?
Install the newest version (there is a new one out just a few hours)
I also have T-mobile (ben). I have no problems with messenger, though I have an older version. Ik know I have a HTC hermes (hopefully soon the TP2) but this seems a network problem. Are your settings right?
I only get the messsage when the network signal is low. THis can be in some houses (because of the build of the house, in trainstation (metal frame surrounding you) etc. (I have no problems in my house though).
My settings for BEN: name: Internet
accespoint name: internet.ben
Are you or the other person offline? did you leave msn on at you desktop?
it probably is just the bad network quality. Try it at a diffrent place outside.

I installed the lates version. This time TF3D did start automatically after restarting and everything is working!
So, I guess that's the fix!
can someone give me the link to the latest one?
are there any changes? or still the simple layout with less features
disable proxy

disabling the Proxy worked for me on T-Mobile UK.
Cheers
