Blackberry Enterprise Server - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Hi all,
I may soon have access to an Exchange / BES based email system.
I have an unlocked (UK) T-Mobile MDA3 that I'm currently using with my employers Vodafone SIM.
Will I just be able to configure the phone to connect directly to the BES box, or will I have to enable, and pay for, a service providers "Instant Email" service?
Cheers,
Q.

So, no one knows anything about BES.....?

BlackBerry Connect Software

hi
I have an O2 XDA 2s which I recently upgraded.it has a blackberry connect software.
when i put my vodafone blackberry chip,i am unable to connect and use the service.
do i need to sync or do i need a desktop blackberry sync software.
I cant download anything software from o2 as i dont have an o2 number.
pls help
Cheers
Sudhir
the client is probably still registered for use on O2 so you need to contact vodafone, get them to get you registered for the BB service ie tarif, and internet mail account. once that is done your device should be able to register on the RIM network.
hope that helps

IPSec VPN client for HTC3300

Does anybody tryed VPN client for HTC3300, supporting Windows Mobile 5.0 and Nortel Contivity switch?
I have tried several solutions, incl. Bluefire VPN, AnthaVPN, ApaniVPN, NCP client - but could not get satisfactory result - some of them doesn't work at all, some of them couldn't establish connection or run on Windows Mobile 2003
Some experience with Bluefire VPN:
I have installed trial, it works on WiFi connection, but doesn't work on cellular (GSM/GPRS). An error -56 appears (no physical connection is present) although device connects to GPRS successfully and I could browse Internet
Could anybody advice?

My experience
I had to set up such a connection to my company VPN. Ok, I wasn't working on HTC p3300 but I was in the same condition for days. At last, I discovered that the provider was masking off the VPN frames. I had to buy another service and I had to connect to another "access point". (I don't remember how it is called exactly in GPRS). From then on I could either navigate internet or use vpn, but they are mutually exclusive for the provider policy. "we did it for security purposes..." they said. The problem is that one technician on 100 knows it. The compant was Vodafone ITALY. So I suggest you have a check with your provider. Maybe there's nothing wrong in your configuration.
Bluefire VPN is currently not compatible with WM5 AKU3. It works on devices wiht AKU2 and below. This has something to do with the way AKU3 names the GPRS data connection. It is different than previous versions.
Bluefire is aware of the issue and said they will have this corrected in the next release, due anytime now. I am running a pre-release build that the sent me and can confirm that it works with GPRS. The problem is this build breaks wifi on the device.

Pocket MSN

Apologies if this has been asked before but I couldn't find an answer.
Background:
I originally bought a MDA Compact III (HTC P3300) from T-mobile. Downloaded, installed and registered Pocket MSN and am able to log into MSN messenger and retrieve Hotmail mail.
Got fed up with GPRS and decided to buy a P3600 (from HTC) mainly cos of 3G and WiFi. I have an unlimited data plan.
Problem:
I inserted my SIM card into the P3600 (downloaded and installled Pocket MSN - not registered as i have paid for it already) and now I'm unable to log into Pocket MSN.
I get the following error when trying to log into MSN Messenger or do a send/recieve from my Hotmail account.
"Temporary conditions currently prevent connecting to the Pocket MSN service"
and then get the following message:
"Logon to MSN Messenger Service failed because the service is not responding. Please try later."
But when I put the SIM card back into the MDA Compact III it all works fine.
Spoke to t-mobile and they say it must be a setting on the phone thats preventing me from logging in, and suggest that I speak to HTC.
Spoke to HTC and they say it must be a problem with my service provider
I'm inclined to believe t-mobile as it does work on the MDA Compact III.
I've tried other apps such as IM+ and recieve similiar connection error messages. But connecting over Wifi it all works fine
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
How are you logging in to pocket MSN? The only way I could log on to it was connecting to my laptop through activesync and using my cable internet connected to it.
are you connecting through GPRS/EDGE
you mention that you can connect through wifi but not directly (Iassume by GPRS/Edge/3g
if you've bought the handset sim free then you will need to add these settings into the handset. T-Mob would be able to supply you with these details to add in your connection settings and that should resolve the problem.

VOIP - anybody got it working in Australia?

Just wondered if anybody in Australia has got VoIP working on one of the Windows Mobile 6.1 ROMS (I'm currently using CRCs one). If so I have the following questions:
What network are you on (I'm on 3).
What VoIP provider are you with (I'm with Internode at the moment mainly because I have broadband with them).
How did you configure VoIP? After my configuration it always says no network is available.
Is it a viable "cheap" phone option to get a large wireless broadband quota and do VoIP that way? This is mainly because I don't know what my fixed line availability will be for the next 12 months.
Can you do VoIP while using my phone as a "shared" modem (I can use that for broadband instead of getting a separate modem)
Do I need to be plugged into a wireless "LAN" to be able to use VoIP or is it ok to simply use wireless broadband outside of a corporate LAN?
Any ideas would be helpful, so I can determine if what I want to do is a viable option.
Thanks,
Ian
no this doesnt work in AUS, from what i remeber the service provider controls this part thus the reason its mostly disabled in these cooked roms.
