Hi!
I know there is a couple of topics, similar to this one.
But this time i would like to hear if any Qtek9090 (og similar model) owners, HAVENT had the problem with the keayboard slider getting loose.
Mine got loose after a week, I send to repairment, and they changed to whole slider.
now, a week after its loose again.
Is there anyone that havent had the problem? Is there qtek's out there that perfect?
Mine is still firmly sliding after 7 months
I even dropped it on a concrete floor , all kinds of damage but the slider is still perfect
ps : can I buy a replacement casing somewhere ?
I have exactly!!! the same experience as you do Paradroid...
:>
Well Mine is &/(), its loose, one of the screws is missing and I have gone to 7 shops to get a new styalist as the old one fell out never to be seen again due to wear it go loose as well.
When I pull my PDA out of my jeans, it comes out in two sections first the screen, followed by the Keyboard, I can't even get it out unless I am standing.
When I talk the keyboard justs drops down as if it wantes to say hello. Hey you can even see day light between the Keyboard and screen.
I think its a crap. Sorry My thoughts but happy for all of you that ended up with a usable model.
Thank you!
My point is to know if there at all is usable models, because then I will demand them to replace mine untill I have one that works.
I love the machine and couldnt live without it. But this is just to stupid. I dont want to send in my PDA in every 2 weeks, and then wait 3 weeks before getting it back, just because they have made crapy mechanism.
I paid almost 1200 USD for this toy!!
Friday night...out drinking with the lads in London.
It was about 1am, me and my friend were talking. He wanted to have a quick look at my phone, so i passed it too him. Somehow...between me putting it into his hands and he grasping it. The phone slipped away....straight into a full pint of Stella.
We paused for about 3 seconds...just looking at it (we were quite drunk), I saw he screen go off so straight away i just sighed and thought ''he better buy me a new one''.
Anyway once i realised what'd happened, i grabbed the phone out of the glass (without spilling any beer), quickly took the battery, sim car and sd card out. places all components into pocket and continued the night...wasn't too bothered as my friend knew it was his fault and told me that if it didn't work, he'll get me a new one.
Hot back home a few hours later, remembered what'd happened...straight to the bathroom...got the hair dryer and started drying....5 minutes later...moment of truth.
WOHOO everything was fine.
I was kind of hoping it was broken, because i've already dropped it on the floor numerous amounts of times and it has a small crack in the screen bottom right.
But alas, everything was fine...
so....HTC Desire...is actually stella-proof as well.....They should stick that on the box!
Even after dropping it in a pint...the battery still hasn't improved though. Can't get a day out of the battery yet. needed to get a battery pack for the damn thing..
roll on Iphone 4 with that great looking battery life
F*cking awesome
Great to hear, now I am not that scared if I drop it into something

I'm due an upgrade in August, so not too bothered about the Warranty. It should last until then. I don't expect any phone to last over 9 months these days.
All the stories I read about people dropping their phones on the ground and in drinks... I even know at least three people who've dropped their phones in the toilet.
I don't get it, even when I had a ****ty Nokia 5100 I don't think I even once dropped it!
Although I did drop-kick it across a garden once to test the shock-absorbent cover. Held up pretty well!
i treated my desire like royalty
i made extra sure never to drop it, scratch it, throw it etc
i put my phone in my pocket with my keys for literally half a minute and the screen is covered in scratches, unbelievable
Desire is almost Tia Maria and coke proof. Managed to fix it all but about 2 months later my trackpad has died. Otherwise all good.

I don't think i've used it once since i got it in April. It's pointless, the screen does everything that's needed

Im scared ropping it on the floor as this big screen and build quality doesnt seems so good. Even in my full body silicone cases where only the screen is free. I even protected the keys lol.
Yoir friend must have been really drunk to offer to buy you a new phone. Sounded like it was your fault to me.
What's the worst damage anyone here has done to there phone? I want to feel better about the dirty great scratch on top of my phone.
I dropped mine from a metre up onto a wooden floor and smashed the screen. £130 to fix it and they still havent returned it to me and thats nearly 2 weeks ago
Contemplating getting a iPhone 4 as i am severely pissed off with HTC's slowness and the build quality of the phone ...

I was thinking this!! LOL! dammed if I would be buying a mate a new phone after he was passing it to me drunk in a pub! I though only iPhone users got their phones out in pubs?
Desire has been in silicone case and screen protector since new... I kicked a Nokia down the road after it kept dropping calls... that was pretty much its life over... hundreds of bits. My Touch HD was key chipped but the paint was a problem on them.
congrats on getting the phone out the glass, without spilling any beer
I've dropped mine loads of times, got a nice scratch going down the centre of the screen due to keys in the pocket. lots of scratches on the paint work on the sides. a lovely big scuff on the back corner, a 10mm crack, bottom right side of screen.
And it wasn't my fault, he wanted to see it, took hold of it, i let go, he had it for a second, then it dropped in his pint.
The phones only £380, why wouldn't he have bought me a new one.
Only £380?
Thats a lot of money... for most people.

Wet Legend
My 15yo son managed to submerge his 3 week old Legend in a river - allegedly it was in his pal's backpack that was knocked into the water! He switched it on to see if it still worked before I had chance to dry it. Anyway it's part of my account and the phone is knacked luckily house contents covered it or he wasn't getting a new one.
Moral = Legends don't like rivers and being switched on before drying
Hi,
I can't remove the battery cover, which I will need to be able to do as I want to install a custom rom, but if it gets stuck in a boot loop I'll be completely stuck.
And I know the design is poor (i.e everyone has issues), but only one person has ever been able to do it (something like the 15th person, in the 6th shop I took it to, cause you need to take the cover off to unwrap the battery on first boot).
Any techniques or anything? It literally seems stuck. The guy that did it took it out the back and came back with it off.

I also would like to know if there is special way to do it.
I once drop my phone and the battery cover come out a little bit from its position. I try to put it back into its position. BUT couldn't do so. Than I try pull out the cover. Than BAMMMM!!! its broke!!!
Buy new cover, but costly..
Buying a new cover is only any use if you can get the original off. And although I don't know the technique, even people that did couldn't get it off - I was shown 2 other DHDs that could be done with a minimal amount of fiddling (i.e. mine is way worse than it should be). I had about 10 people say "oh yeah mate it's easy, you just do thi.. wait... wow, that's like glued on or something".
The battery cover is a good design. Had to take out the battery number of times and it always goes off and on as intended to, perfect.
I had another mate try to do it and he just couldn't figure it out. Wtf has this world come to??
If you look there is a little space where you put your nail and then pull it out with a bit of force and putting it in is even easier!
Honestly, so many threads/posts about this...

I'm not thick, you would have to be stupid to not realise there's a place for your nail - the problem is that my cover wouldn't budge (clearly you didn't read the OP - I took it to 5 different PHONE SHOPS - and only one guy could do it. I've opened other DHDs, just not mine. Until today...
Got a friend to try - he spent about 5 minutes but couldn't, but he must have budged it as I could get my nail into the corner - (to the left of the bit you're supposed to do) and hook it up from there - sorted
eeeeehhh RELAXXX lol
one moment...... are you talking about you can´t open the battery cover of your DHD?
REALLY YOU CAN´T?
I'd be darned if people find the DHD battery hatch to open easily... I even got the under side of my nails(the index finger) bleed trying to pry it open the first time I tried to charge the phone.

Couldn't, now can I felt really embarrassed going into a shop saying "I can't take the cover off" But then they were like... neither can we haha. It's been loosened now and can be done with a bit of technique.
It can be that it sounds absurdity but here I leave the guide of DESIRE HD, there it is written like to remove the cover.
In a Spanish forum i was read that there are people who helps herself with a credit card or a small screwdriver...
i think its solved

I can remove the battery cover from my DHD with one hand - although I end up flicking the cover several feet.
Don't get me wrong, when I first got mine it was so tight I nearly snapped it. It's by no means loose now but it has got a little easier.

Can you get a picture?
Well I tried but its quite hard.
The glass is supposed to be onside the chassis and well it is for the 70% of the phone.
But half of the right side and especially the right top corner, you can feel it is off by a bit, and when you press slightly it goes in where its supposed to but doesnt stay there.
It is as if the adhesive of the glass isnt holding on the corner any more.

I would bring that back to where you bought it, fire it across the counter and request a new one! It's obviously a faulty built one.

Who started THIS vile trend of replying with "This." Is it cool or something? I dunno, just figured I'd try it out. Will report back on my findings.
Been more than a month that i bought it.
And can't demand an exchange, got a friend buy it in UK and bring it over here. No way to take it back to UK for a while.
Was just wondering if it happened to someone else, or if someone had any recommendations about what ppssibly could cause this or how i could possibly fix it.
It's been perfectly normal for weeks ;(

Are you positive it didn't get exposure to excessive pressure? That is the only logical way the glass would start to "pop" out! It's a strange one, never heard anything on these forums that is similar.
Yeah I am pretty positive, I baby my phones, my nexus one is still without a scratch.
That is why I felt the need to create a topic, since I never heard of something similar on any of the phones I owned/followed.

the bottom left of my phone started making a weird clicking noise every time I squeezed it, then I looked at it and the glass was coming off just a tad, I went back to the store and 5 of them that came out were doing the same thing, try your self, squeeze the bottom left of your phone.

It should have a 1 year warranty against manufacturing defect. If there are no marks on it from a drop, they should replace that no questions asked. If the retailer wont take it, call Samsung.
Are you sure you don't mean the bottom right?
That corner actually is a tad higher than the other corners.
Nope my issue is on top left.
The international warranty doesnt include exchanges. If there is a manufacturing defect then the device should be sent to the country that it is bought in.
At least that is what the warranty card in tge box says.

Hi,
I had similar issue but located in the bottom-right corner of the phone. What I did was a bit risky but I just pressed the glass into the chassis a few times and it went in place. After this it looked perfect. Of course I can't guarantee the result, this is how I made it, of course this is not a professional way to repair things like that .
This is another time I have to write that something wrong is happening with Samsung's quality control. Quantity over quality, definitely. This is not an isolated case, I have read other posts where people were complaining about this, out-of-center camera sensor placement, clicks from the speaker, bad screen etc, not to mention the famous volume rocker bug. When you buy a phone for $700 you at least demand no obvious, visible defects.
I'm also having this issue on my phone, except that the screen is coming off on the left bottom part of the phone.
This was a replacement phone for the first one that was exchanged as DOA because of screen discoloration.
Went to the shop today and the sales rep was giving me attitude ("are you sure it isn't supposed to be like that?") and told me to return on Monday when the manager was there. Have to say I'm not really feeling the charm of Nexus at this point anymore. The iPhone might be fragile and limited, but at least the production quality is top notch...

Have you ever gone to any iphone forums and read problems iphone users have with hardware or software? Stuff happens with anything electronic that is mass produced. Every now and then you will have something that is not like it should be.
Let's not turn this into an iPhone vs Android battle =p
Each phone is graeat, for the ones that love them, each have flaws each have great parts.
Anyways, it appears that this is not an uncommon problem, and I think it is unlikely it will be causing much of a problem in the long term.
I'm pretty positive that the problem is caused by the adhesive holding the glass, not powerful enough, or not put enough at certain areas to hold on to it after a while.
It's not like, it's making the phone unfunctional or anything. I was wondering if it was only me having the problem, and appears not.
This is the 3rd Nexus phone Google had a say in, and all 3 had huge flaws somehow, which is tragic. Maybe G, should be more careful with choosing it's partners =)

Is that how its supposed to be ? My bottom right corner is higher than the benzel, all other corners are a hair below(if looking at in portrait). Being 4 days old planning on going to store to get replacement, seems this would affect a screen protector that i havent installed yet..
i just Bought my LG G3 Yesterday ,
it was used gently, as i appreciate the feeling of a new device in my hands like any geek,
i did not drop it ( no need to justify here )
i took my G3 to show off a friend and i asked people were in the room if anyone noticed that my phone fell in the past few minutes - one of them is working in a cellular shop and he immediately brought me the news that he already knows what happened by my response because some one who bought g3 from his store came back with the exact same crack and claim he did not drop the phone at all as well.
so i have a broken Lens, camera cant take photos right and i am Deeply disappointed By Lg as i was expecting a higher build quality,
i might be the first to report but just - wait for it ,
people will Google the problem and i am just the first to let you know.

I just had the same thing happen to mine. Not sure how or why it happened but it did. It was in my hot car turned off for an hour or so and then when I got home ours later, I noticed it. It has never been dropped or hit.
i think someone hijacked your phone... lol friends are friends...
Sent from from my LG-D855
It is a very, very small chance that it happened by itself - BUT if the glass was fitted in the phone, and was made with too high tension; it COULD technically brake "on its own". However, very rare for this to happen...
I just tried pressing my lens with my thumb, with quite a lot of pressure - didnt do anything
Anyone know where I can get a replacement lense or where to be looking for them when they come available? Talked to LG and they said they could repair but it would take 2 weeks and they could not tell me what it would cost. I can use my camera because my glass is completely gone over the camera, I would just like to get something over it to keep dust out.

If I could just find a thin 1/2 inch diameter piece of glass, I could fix it myself. Problem is finding the glass. Would not be hard at all to fix and like I said my camera works perfectly fine.
I just had the exact same thing happen. Phone was fine last night. Set it on night stand before bed. Showered and got ready in the morning. No drops. Got in the car in the morning and touched something jaggedy when I was stopped at a light. Weiiiird. Looks exactly like OP's pic. Luckily I paid for insurance since it's included in T-Mobile's jump program, so hopefully they'll swap it out.
It is one of the areas of the phone which get hotter from use, but I find that an unlikely factor in causing that problem.

Yeah, I'm really at a loss. I kept it in the bathroom as I showered, but it doesn't get that hot/humid...not enough that one would think it'd make a substantial difference.
Hate to say it, but my lens just cracked as well about an hour ago. I went to take the phone off my desk, and it kinda slipped from my fingers. The phone never made it completely off the desk. The two bottom corners were still touching, and the top half maybe a few cm off. Nothing I would ever consider a drop. When I flipped the phone around, to my surprise the lens was cracked. I don't know what to say? Any other phone I've owned in the past this wouldn't have happened to it in this very same situation.

Yeah, man. My old HTC M7...I always run skinless, treat my phones like dirt. Dropped it maybe three times onto concrete from waist height, nothing. So this is pretty gnarly.
Update on T-Mobile, they basically said that they'd take it back under warranty IF it's a manufacturer's defect. But because it's physical damage, they'll probably flag it as user error and charge me for it. I'm claiming manufacturer's defect because I swear this happened spontaneously without a drop whatsoever. So now I basically have to call LG directly, and I'd probably be up for a fight. If anyone here has experience or advice it'd be greatly appreciated.
Same Issue
Hey, I had the same issue with the AT&T version, ended up having to send it back along with my powermat (since I assumed that might have caused the crack). They repaired it without charge since they determined that it was indeed a manufacture defect. So if you have something similar it is probably a manufacture defect, and hopefully they will make a note of this soon.

I sent it back to LG. I called the LG service number and explained the problem, they issue a RA# and you have to send it to their warehouse. Took them almost 2 weeks to fix the phone, and they are just mailing it back now
I wanted to come back and post an update for my circumstance just in case any in the future needs to do the same.
Unfortunately I couldn't send my unit back to att or lg because my water damage sticker had been tripped. I had my phone in my pocket and I went on a ride in an amusement park and didn't realize we want under waterfalls! Needless to say I got soaked and water seeped into the phone but after sticking it in rice overnight I was lucky enough to not have water damage besides the tripped sensor. I went on a search and found a seller on eBay selling the top piece which includes the camera lens cover, power/volume rocker. It cost $38 plus $6 shipping and took about a week to get to me. To replace it was fairly easy. Removed 7 screws and unsnapped the old part and then applied the new piece.
One thing to note: the original piece States 850 in various areas and the new piece States 855. However it is the same exact part and for $44 I replaced itself myself without having to be without my phone. Here are some pictures :
Here's the link for the eBay auction http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=351144850263&alt=web

Just found this thread after my UK D855 did exactly the same, I've had it several months. found Replacement parts on ebay
Exact Same Problem
Hi - today I found the exact same fault in my phone. Like other posts here, I did not drop it or get any impact on the phone.
I am in New Zealand and am really disappointed in what I thought was otherwise a great phone. I now have to waste my time trying to establish whether I have any cover for this problem and also realise that it looks like impact damage and technicians will claim it was my fault.
I think this is a manufacturing fault and reading here confirms that something is very wrong here.
Thanks.
