Hi ppl,
i recently recieved a kit from Navigon, Navigon Mobile 4 with a BT GPS mouse.
I got the mouse bonded as a serial slave on com 5 & 6 and seems to be recognise by the software because i recieve at least the TMC messages.
but i got no GPS signal.
does anybody ever tryed this GPS on a qtek 9090 ?
is there a specific tool i need to install on my pda for the BT manager (options are quite poor in the BT manager)
any ideas ?
thks
Navigon needs VTG data from the GPS to work. If you have a GPS powered by a SIRF chipset it is easy : go to www.gpspassion.com and download a freeware to do the job.
i dont really know about the gps reciever furnished by navigon, there are no information about the hadware in the package, or user guide
If you have the Navigon GPS and not a non branded Navigon GPS, the issue is not the VTG...
i have the navigon BT GPS + TMC, the tmc works i recieve the signal in the software correctly, but i do not recieve any gps signal
i guess it comes from the com ports, but i really do not know how to solve that problem
i found the response, Qtek 9090 has a wildcomm BT modem so it requieres a patch available at the support page of navidon.de web site

I have a fortuna bluetooth gps and i have rom vrsion 1.72 on my xda2 and i cannot get it to work properly with tomtom. I allso have the latest version in tomtom gps and i have the bluetooth tools by towa can anyone please help.
When you bonded the gps did you choose "serial profile". What settings are you using in tomtom? Which fortuna gps is it, on my xda2 the gpsmart needs no bt tools and neither does the gr230.
it is fotuna clipon. it bonds ok, it asks about serial port but dose not give a port number. in tomtom i select tomtom wirless gps and bluetooth gps.
thanks
Starman:
DO NOT use BT Tools (not needed with rom 1.72)
Bond the BT GPS, say yes to create com port.
In TomTom GPS select
- NMEA xxxx Bluetooth and
- COM5 or (better!) Bluetooth GPS
- tick blue-ish box
Should work right away
Remember you only get fixes with a clear view of the sky!!
I would like to know if:
- You can tick the blue-ish box with Bluetooth GPS (instead of COM5) selected or not
- What the origin of your 1.72 ROM is: iMate, Qtek, T-Mobile beta
the rom was posted by wax hit is the himalayen rom i tryed all the thigs that you said and it is still the same.
could you be more specific?
There is no user 'wax' nor has anyone with a username like that posted a message with RUU172* in it . . .
BTW I suppose its not enough to uninstall BT Tools, to be sure its gone do a hard-reset
I have the Fortuna BTCliponGPS unit with an XDA2 but only with the 1.60.00 WWE ROM from O2.
Do EXACTLY what edsub said:
1. Go to Bluetooth Settings (in Settings) and make sure that Bluetooth Serial Port setup is enabled for both Inbound (COM4) and Outbound (COM5)
2. Delete any ClipOn-BTGPS devices showing on in your Bluetooth device list and reconnect. Don't forget that the Fortuna device uses 0000 (4x zeros) as its passkey and that you must allow it to create a COM port when it asks.
3) I presume you are using TomTom Navigator with this? Make sure that you have downloaded and installed the very latest GPS software AND the TomTom Navigator application update.
4) Stand outside in the pouring rain waiting for the blasted GPS unit to lock onto a satellite.
will this work w/ TT3.01?
Do we have to update to TomTom 3.03 + GPS 3.03, or can the Fortuna Clip & XDA II work with version 3.01 +gps 3.01?
No you dont have to update the drivers etc, but the latest version runs alot faster.
Im running an xda2 tt3 and bt fortuna clipon and bttools, ROM 1.66.00. I have NO problems at all with this configuration.

I use Dconnex DC-230 bluetooth with my XDAII ROM 1.72, and Tomtom 2.
I had to upgrade TOMtom to 2.24 and GPS to 3.03, the in tomtom i chose SIRF BT and Bluetooth GPS. and as edsub said you nedd to check the blueish box, but don't stand in the rain waiting for signal, you will get a message saying no signal found??.
BTW when bonding my GPS I opted for NO serial ports.
anybody knows how to keep the GPS bonded all the time (other than leaving it on and next to the XDA all the time)
Can anyone tell me why TT Routeplanner doesn't "see" my BT GPS?
I also have Destinator3 installed on my PPC and works perfectly with my GPS Receiver. So I assume that it is not a bluetooth connection problem.
Please, anyone?
what kind of GPS receiver do you have ?
does it support serial port profile ?
what drivers have u selected in TT GPS ?
Did you update to the latest version of TT ?
I have a BT48.
Yes, it supports SPP
No drivers were selected in TT GPS, simply because TT does not see a gps connection. I click on GPS Setup (within TT settings), but nothing happens.
TT Routeplanner doesn't have a new version. It has been replaced and it is not supported any longer.
Any suggestions?
Is the gps receiver listed in the bluetooth section of your ppc ? (settings-connections-bluetooth)
Try removing the link, then bond again using outbound Com 5 (spp)
In TT GPS manually select NMEA 0183v2 Bluetooth in the upper box and
com 5 in the lower drop down box. Then tick the blue box left.
I solved the problem, which by the way was so silly that I refuse to mention it.
Thanks anyway pleum
help me
I have a Imate Jas-Jar windows mobile 2005. A new version of GPS Nav-N-Go was released for WM 2005 I installed it and it doesn't work! It doesn't recognize my GPS on the Parrot CK3300.
I talked with the Nav-N-Go developers and they told me that the Nav-N-Go works with 9 GPS antenna's. It seems to me that the problem is in the definition of a communication "COM port".
Please help me to solve this problem. Is there a way to define a "COM port" for GPS in the CK3300
jorge
JasJar & TomTom5 using a Parrot 3300 for GPS & Phone
I also have a Jas Jar badged as an Orange SPVM5000 and have similar problems. I am not a techie by any meands but I do not think the problem is with the Parrot 3300.
The Bluetooth pairing connects Parrot and Phone.
Setting the com port is identifying where the incoming gps signal is made of available on the phone.
TomTom5 is the sat nav software I use and it seems only to work by connecting to certain com ports. Unfortunatley, the phone does not like assigning the connection to this port.
Elsewhere on this site there are instructions which allowed me to pair the phone with another GPS BT reciever I use when out and about.
The same procedure will not work with pasiring the parrot.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can pair with the Parrot to get the phone and gps working?
You may find some answers here -- worth a try, anyway.

The latest update of Destinator 6 (v6.1.1.40010) NOT WORKS with our device..
The message GPS Antenna Connected and after 1 second GPS Antenna Not found appears again and again at the GPS settings screen...
With previous versions of Destinator 6 the GPS of Artemis working without problems with this version (given by Greek NGI team to their users) the GPS of Artemis not works (all the other GPS devices works great)!
I try to overwrite the file GPSLib.dll with the previus version GPSLib.dll but the problem exists (when the speed meter of my car shows over 100 mph or 120km/h)
Any solution?
My last thought is to change NMEA to Sirf could you suggest me any operational tool for this?
Thanks in advance..

Yes it is. It works with most major GPS applications, TOM TOM, Handymap etc. You just need a bluetooth GPS receiver. I use it is my primary GPS device.
of course... just buy a gps receiver, garmin should b a good brand for it as well as the software.
Yes with BT GPS receiver it works like a charm. I'm using garmin software and BT138 (4 years old). I've also tried TomTom, IGO and others but because my specific needs I'm using garmin.
