help me
I have a Imate Jas-Jar windows mobile 2005. A new version of GPS Nav-N-Go was released for WM 2005 I installed it and it doesn't work! It doesn't recognize my GPS on the Parrot CK3300.
I talked with the Nav-N-Go developers and they told me that the Nav-N-Go works with 9 GPS antenna's. It seems to me that the problem is in the definition of a communication "COM port".
Please help me to solve this problem. Is there a way to define a "COM port" for GPS in the CK3300

JasJar & TomTom5 using a Parrot 3300 for GPS & Phone
I also have a Jas Jar badged as an Orange SPVM5000 and have similar problems. I am not a techie by any meands but I do not think the problem is with the Parrot 3300.
The Bluetooth pairing connects Parrot and Phone.
Setting the com port is identifying where the incoming gps signal is made of available on the phone.
TomTom5 is the sat nav software I use and it seems only to work by connecting to certain com ports. Unfortunatley, the phone does not like assigning the connection to this port.
Elsewhere on this site there are instructions which allowed me to pair the phone with another GPS BT reciever I use when out and about.
The same procedure will not work with pasiring the parrot.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can pair with the Parrot to get the phone and gps working?
You may find some answers here -- worth a try, anyway.

Hi ppl,
i recently recieved a kit from Navigon, Navigon Mobile 4 with a BT GPS mouse.
I got the mouse bonded as a serial slave on com 5 & 6 and seems to be recognise by the software because i recieve at least the TMC messages.
but i got no GPS signal.
does anybody ever tryed this GPS on a qtek 9090 ?
is there a specific tool i need to install on my pda for the BT manager (options are quite poor in the BT manager)
any ideas ?
thks
Navigon needs VTG data from the GPS to work. If you have a GPS powered by a SIRF chipset it is easy : go to www.gpspassion.com and download a freeware to do the job.
i dont really know about the gps reciever furnished by navigon, there are no information about the hadware in the package, or user guide
If you have the Navigon GPS and not a non branded Navigon GPS, the issue is not the VTG...
i have the navigon BT GPS + TMC, the tmc works i recieve the signal in the software correctly, but i do not recieve any gps signal
i guess it comes from the com ports, but i really do not know how to solve that problem
i found the response, Qtek 9090 has a wildcomm BT modem so it requieres a patch available at the support page of navidon.de web site
I am interested in this http://www.parrot.biz/united_kingdom/products/index.php?id=ck3300 Does anybody have any experience using this device, how well does it work etc. ?
I plan on using it with O2 Mini S and possibly Tom Tom software what do you guys think?
I have a CK3300 and the similar CK3100 (no GPS) in my wife's car.
They work superbly with Sony Ericsson phones, less well with Motorolas and Nokias but a bit of a disaster with the XDA Mini-S. Doesn't auto connect, doesn't synch contacts properly, overwrites voice tags. There's a bunch of posts on the subject in the Parrot forum on their website. Rumours that there will be a software upgrade shortly which will address some issues.
I haven't got around to trying the GPS with TomTom on the XDA (as I can't get it to install!) but it worked fine with my previous PPC (an iPaq RX3715)

I have a CK3300 not had to meany problems on the GPS side but my xda 2s and my axd mini would not work with the handsfree bit.
My xda exec works fine on GPs and handsfree.
Very good bit of kit overall
Beside experience, I have a question to post here.
I have Parrot СК3300 for 2 years. As handsfree kit, it works perfectly with Sonyericsson K750i, 700i, Z800, P900. With Sonyericsson P900, it works perfectly as hands free kit and GPS module simultaneously.
However, after connecting my QTEK2020i (1.11.00 WWE, Radio 1.02.00, ExtROM 1.11.113 WWE dd 27of Jan 2005) I can use Parrot as GPS module only. Any attempts to use Parrot as kar kit leads only to loud clicks from speakers. So just for now, I use Parrot as hands-free for Sonyericsson K700i and as GPS module with QTEK simultaneously.
No way to fix it. I delete all Bluetooth devices, soft reset, ad only Parrot as hands-free, soft reset. No result.
Can you suggest me how to fix it.
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
I have a CK 3000 intsalled with Tom Tom and a third party BT GPS mouse. The Parrot works very well but it has to be paired as a Hands-free set and not as a headset. One small bug, though: I have to start TT first for the GPS to connect when getting back into the vehicle. After that I start the engine, which connects the CK3000 to my MDA II. If the CK is connected first, TT can't find the mouse.
I've been looking for a way to get the audio to be put through the the CK. I once found a piece of software that could do that on this site but inspite of hours of searching, I haven't been able to find it again. - HELP!
parrot car kit
I have a parrot CK3500 GPS car kit and it works well with TomTom Mobile 5 on my SPV E200 ,C500, C550 and has worked with TomTom Navigator 5 my M2000 as well. This is for Voice AND GPS simultaneously.
with earlier versions of TOMTOM i needed to rename the bluetooth connection from Parrot to TomTom Wireless GPS.
I have an XDA Mini S too which is on a data only tariff (so havent tried handsfree) but TomTom 5 works with it for GPS. They seem a little fiddly to set up, but once set up they are great.
I found i needed to use "AnyGPS Tweak" on all the smartphones to get it to connect initially
I had a CK3300 in another car and that worked exactly the same.
The only criticism is that the GPS voice instructions dont go through the speakers. However sometimes they do, and it seems to be if you start TomTom before you switch on the car ignition, the car kit thinks a call is in progress and relays the GPS through the speakers. It doesnt always work, but sometimes its a bit of a shock to get Jane bellowing through the speaker!!
The downside is that if you take a voice call over the car kit, it seems to re-set and the GPS voice then reverts back to the phone speaker.
I have emailed Parrot about this and have not had a reply as yet.

Thanks for your reply.
As far as I understand, I can't solve problem with incoming - outcoming telephone calls by some "secret' QTEK settings.
Therefore, I'll try to find "Any Bluetooth Tweak" program to fix it.
Can you suggest any "Tweak" software?
Hi!
Is there a way to use the GPS receiver that is built into the Artemis as a GPS Device for Windows (XP or Vista).
Maybe over Bluetooth or USB / ActiveSync connection.
I tried to set up Bluetooth COM Ports so Incoming BT connections connect directly to the GPS COM port, but without success... no gps data was coming through.
Also I search for a small tool to test the receiver... just a compass or something.
regards,
Daniel
You cannot just "bridge" the GPS com port to your desktop OS via BT. The BT stack was never designed that way. All BT com ports you use must have a piece of software behind it to fill it with data, or otherwise they are just empty cans.
In your case, you need a GPS splitter to get gps signals from the GPS com port, and then repeat it to a BT com port so that the other end can receive such signal. That will provide a working bridge for your data.
Try software such as gpsgate that works as described above.
Hello, you can try GPS2Blue is a little free program that will let you use your Artemis as a GPS.
You can find it here: http://users.skynet.be/hofinger/GPS2Blue.html
Enjoy.
i got myself GPS2Blue and installed it.
My problem now is, that i cannot set up a BT COM port!
I have the (german) B&Bv3 ROM (WM6). In Bluetooth Settings in the "COM Ports"-Tab. It says "Tap on 'New outgoing port' ..." but theres no button or something. Just the describing text and an empty ListBox.
since I cannot set up my COM port, GPS2Blue won't swich on right?
So... is this a WM6 bug or a B&B Bug or my brain-bug
Setting up COM ports in my firmware WM5 OS worked just fine.
Thanks you guys for the info!
but what to do now?
GPSgate can do what you want (but it is not free)
gpsgate can set up bluetooth com ports? i dont think so
this is not a gps problem anymore!
i posted a new thread for my new problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=315687
GPSGate can do it!!
Use this is the registration key:AmzeaBjw
Then your Artemis can pass GPS information to your PC through Bluetooth
Fransons GPS Gate will enable the sharing of GPS position to a number of different types of device, I am not too sure about posting a registration key for purchased software as these are specific to an individual user??? - Mike
Hi,
I was wondering whether TomTom software for a Nokia would work on an XDA IIs?
And does the XDA IIs have a gps reciever in built?
Kind Regards
Sportyfr
nokia tomtom software wont work on xda IIs, different Operating system and no the xdaIIs does not have gps built in you need a seperate gps receiver
The BA is very capable of running TTN6 if accompanied with an external GPS receiver - Bluetooth is best although cabled versions of the GPS are available, should you decide to use a cabled solution please remember to disbale the "Receive all incomming beams" from the IRdA settings as this releases the comm port for correct communications - Mike
Hi, I am trying to get my MDA Compact & SPV M500 to recognise my Bluetooth GPS Unit I bought recently The Unit is A Copilot BT-GPS-365E50. My problem is, I installed Mobile Bluetooth Tools and it installed with no problems. It recognises my GPS Unit, but when pairing the devices the com port setup screen flashes for a moment then disappears. I therefore cannot setup a BT Serial Port. Any suggestions? Is it the GPS Unit? Is it not compatible with my MDA. I have tried this on both my Phones and get the same result. They are both HTC Magicians. I used this process on an XDA II with no problems. I just want to get my SatNav up and running. Hope myou can help and thanks for reading..
use nav n go Igo8
sirftech
Hi!
I also use iGO 8, ith connects automatically. If you like to use tomtom for instance, then I would use the SirfTech tool to establish the connection to your BT-GPS and then run your Nav applcation.
Cheers
