Yes it is. It works with most major GPS applications, TOM TOM, Handymap etc. You just need a bluetooth GPS receiver. I use it is my primary GPS device.
of course... just buy a gps receiver, garmin should b a good brand for it as well as the software.
Yes with BT GPS receiver it works like a charm. I'm using garmin software and BT138 (4 years old). I've also tried TomTom, IGO and others but because my specific needs I'm using garmin.

Hi ppl,
i recently recieved a kit from Navigon, Navigon Mobile 4 with a BT GPS mouse.
I got the mouse bonded as a serial slave on com 5 & 6 and seems to be recognise by the software because i recieve at least the TMC messages.
but i got no GPS signal.
does anybody ever tryed this GPS on a qtek 9090 ?
is there a specific tool i need to install on my pda for the BT manager (options are quite poor in the BT manager)
any ideas ?
thks
Navigon needs VTG data from the GPS to work. If you have a GPS powered by a SIRF chipset it is easy : go to www.gpspassion.com and download a freeware to do the job.
i dont really know about the gps reciever furnished by navigon, there are no information about the hadware in the package, or user guide
If you have the Navigon GPS and not a non branded Navigon GPS, the issue is not the VTG...
i have the navigon BT GPS + TMC, the tmc works i recieve the signal in the software correctly, but i do not recieve any gps signal
i guess it comes from the com ports, but i really do not know how to solve that problem
i found the response, Qtek 9090 has a wildcomm BT modem so it requieres a patch available at the support page of navidon.de web site
HELLO,GUYS
JUST INSTALL THE TOMTOM NAVIGATOR ON MY DEVICE--XDA lls
GOT A CRACK MAP FILE AND THEN ACTIVED IT.
HOWEVER WHEN I RUN IT,THE ''GPS DISABLED''
I CAN NOT TRACK MY CURRENT LOCATION!
HOW CAN I FIX IT UP?
THANKS
DO I NEED A EXTRA GPS RECEIVER?
I THOUGHT THE XDA lls ALREADY GOT A ONE, ISN'T IT?
Nope, you'll need an external GPS receiver
Maybe you mistook GPRS for GPS ?
and : NO NEED TO SHOUT !
hi,thanks
OK! forget the tomtom
if I just wanna a tool to help me track where I am normal when I am a tourist.
what kind programme will you help me advising?
You have the right program, you are lacking hardware, namely a gps receiver.

Hi,
Thinking about getting a TYTN and never had GPS navigation before so a bit of a noob. Whats the best kit to get, I would need the software and a GPS reciever so whats best to get.
I have found this - http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.php?xProd=142&xSec=8
Or is a bluetooth GPS receiver better? - http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.php?xProd=154&xSec=8
If its agains the rules to link to those websites I will delete them.
If you get the TomTom software then get the TomTom receiver as well because it will work right out of the box. Setting up non-TomTom satellite receivers in TomTom is a real pain in the backside.
I had absolutely no problems setting up TomTom with Holux GPSlim236.
Just pair the gpsreceiver with the phone and assing it a com port,
then select the correct port in TomTom. Works like a charm.
TomTom will even enable blutooth by itself.
Holux GPSlim 236
Also using the Holux without any problems. Small device with good battery lifetime and fast fix. Buy a small GPS so you don't have to leave it in your car. Thieves like them now everyone is taking his mobile out and radios tend to be build in by the car manufacturer.
Also take a look at i-Go software instead of TomTom. More maps available for East Europe and many nice features. Very fast on a TyTN! Can be installed from SD card.
Or look out for the SD version of TT5. It's always handy to be able to install a fresh version from the SD card after a PDA crash when there is no PC near. All other versions need Activesync to install, which you probably won't habe able to do on a holiday trip!

Greetings all!
I have become the owner of an XDA Orbit and have not taken the kind people at O2 up on their offer of navigation software, but am using my existing TTN 5 software. It has installed perfectly and it works excellently on the external BT GPS, but I need to know how to get it to work through the built-in GPS.
Does anyone have any instructions and port settings to get the TTN5 to speak to the on-board GPS receiver?
All help gratefully received.........

Other NMEA GPS/ GPS Baud rate 9600/ GPS on COM4 - Mike
Thanks Mike, it works a treat (even better than my Leadtek BT GPS). I 'm sure it wouldn't have hurt O2 to put that in the manual.
Keep up the good work.
Just got my O2 xda orbit and the GPS is great. Prob wont use gps function much though as i have tomtom go910 in my car.
When pairing the 2, i get an error from the tomtom unit saying that the phone does not support `Dial up networking`
Therefore i am unable to use the tomtom to its full potential, ie weather, traffic, cameras etc.
Surely a device such as the orbit is capable of DUN.
Tomtom list the k-jam as `compatible` with the tomtom go range so as the orbit seems much the same phone to me (apart from gps) i assu,ed it would work.
Anyone help
your problem is that the 3300 DOESN'T support the DUN profile. None of the windows mobile 5 aku3 devices do. they now use the Bluetooth PAN profile.
Until TomTom update their devices to support the PAN profile, it ain't gonna work!
