So what is the deal with the launch! I have heard and read many articles about tomorrow but non with details on the launch.
Who is going to be there tomorrow?
Is this going to be indoors/outdoors on the big screen or what?
Let me know what you think.

It's called an "embargo". That's when Samsung promises that news media will get all the juicy bits and details, but nothing must be officially released until Samsung "lifts" that embargo.
Unfortunately, it's not clear what is allowed, so even "who's who list" will not be announced until the embargo is lifted.
There's a Chinese news site that blasted through the embargo, I'm sure that Samsung will sanction them with much less news in the future. But that is just their evaluation phone, nothing to do about the launch it's self, nor the Tim Cook look alike they've hired to spoof the iPhone in comparison.. (wait, didn't say that. Nothing to see here folks)... :silly:

Just watched it live via C-Net.
Wow! I'm actually impressed. Unfortunately you had to wade through a lot of showmanship to get the features, but it was entertaining.
Simply put, it's changing the rules for the next generation of Smartphones.
The addition of 8 sensors to the phone rule out some of the features being back ported to the S3's we have. But still the answer is easy. I want one! :good:
Re: NYC - Times Square - Galaxy S4.
I'll grab that.

I agree, the device is insane but they did not say if the US was getting a different processor variant than the international version, instead all 155 countries would get to he device at the same time at the end of April 2013.

you guys think they'll give us U.S GS3 users an update that will give us most (if not all) of the software features of the Galaxy S 4 like they did for the Galaxy S II?
i sure hope so..lol

The specs list shows a 1.9 GHz Quad-Core Processor / 1.6 GHz Octa-Core Processor. The selection of processor will be differed by markets. The touchscreen also works while wearing gloves.
http://wirelessandmobilenews.com/20...quad-core-1.6-octa-core-q2-release-dates.html
I'm going to be seriously pissed off if they pull a Qualcomm stunt for the US version again. Seems like that is exactly what they are doing though. I wish they would just give GSM pentaband and Exynos and through CDMA to the wolves...
A lot of the features probably wouldn't work on Qualcomm chips... I seriously doubt the 600 could keep up.
Pretty similar to the s3 just obvious improvements with the hardware. I think us gs3 users are not as impressed but what you expect to since the s3 was soo good what can come after that to impress again, the s3 put the bar so high the s4 is just a minimal update. I still don't believe android is ready for these quad core, octa-core processors.

I think its pretty much confirmed that Samsung is going to launch a Qualcomm chip here. At the end of the video it says nothing about AWS connectivity for HSPA+ *sigh* I will wait until the 800 is commercially available and see what launches then.
While it may not be a huge software upgrade, I sure would love to have the new hardware... The LPDDR3 alone is going to blow everything else away.
EDIT: Confirmed... 1.9GHz Snapdragon Fusion Pro.

So American users are getting the shaft again with processing power. I'll wait to use my upgrade on some thing else

The 600 is no slouch but yes, we get the shaft again. Especially on T-Mobile since we can not even use it on the AWS band. at&t users at least have the option of buying unlocked.
Interestingly enough, the US launch partners are at&t, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, Cricket, and U.S. Cellular. I think that's a first - Cricket getting the best of the best on launch! Their "pay 1000 dollars for a 600 dollar device" program must be being successful much like T-Mobiles Value Plan device installments have been.
I am going to pass for now. I don't mind Snapdragon chips but they get hot and they suck a lot of power.
Honestly if CDMA was dead, I bet Samsung would make an Exynos for the US but releasing two different processor models in a single market would not only piss off consumers but carriers as well. I don't ever see Samsung licensing CDMA from Qualcomm when they can just get an SoC from them instead. I think we need to be more pissed at Qualcomm for their monopoly stranglehold and their slow development of high end chips. We won't see Samsung chips until Qualcomm is brought down a few notches.

Actually its still up in the air as it says the pro fusion OR octocore on the sheet, I believe they may go the lessor route as well though as it seems to be the trend of past desisions but its not like there's any other carrier producing better than the pro anyways. Only Samsung put the 8 core out there to begin with and yes if you wait another year sure 25 other devices will be in the mix but that's what the game is and that's not gonna make a difference because there will always be a let down no matter what company is in the hot seat but is it the fact we may not get the octo over the pro which HTC is using the 600 in the One they just released and swear by really a huge let down? If they said the screen was gonna be more like the GS3 that would break the deal since they bragged about 1080.

Really good spec and pricing. $399 price tag , however with discount $100 for US resident which bring it down to $299. Just wondering if all the bands work with Tmobile and AT&T

I'm probably going to grab one, but I need a CM / AOSP rom to be there.
Announcement says:
LTE-A, LTE, HSPA+, HSPA, UMTS, WCDMA, EDGE, GSM
LTE Bands 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/29/30/38
which is everything T-Mobile and AT&T need AFAIK
The product code it's LEX727 not LEX720 as chinese version. Have a new ROM 5.8.0.18S and updated kernel.

has anyone seen the software for the Le Pro 3 phone called EUI 5.8?
im ok with it if it works and is not garbage. The hardware for the flash sale price of $299 is a steal.
otherwise im going with the OnePlus 3T coming out soon which is definitely going to have CM14 ported to it by someone. probably will only cost $399 I hope.
No offense but the device does sound like a good buy. But let's be honest, there to many great phones out in this price range now(Nexus 6p, op3, g4 plus, etc) that worrying about development is kinda dumb when those phones I mentioned offer tons of it already. Then on top of that 6p already on 7.1.1 dev preview, and g4 plus has soak test leak build of 7.0 out now......
Then on top of that the phone is on 6.0 MM....Why not 6.0.1 or especially 7.0?

yea, I think you have a good point. I am starting to lean towards the oneplus phones, as they seem more dev friendly, and the company has no problems releasing source codes eventually for their phones.

oh sorry wrong thread i got the european version
I'm very interested in the Le Pro 3. I currently have a Nexus 6 and have been considering an upgrade. I was about to pull the trigger on the Axon 7 but then I saw the promo for $299. An incredible price for the specifications. The biggest minus is no SDCard and questionable about how much development there will be. On the other hand the price and battery are worth considering. Must be rootable (which this phone is).
I cut my cable and phone off ages ago and rely on netflix / amazon prime for entertainment, so the streaming content might be something I'd be interested in as well.
Unfortunately I have only 1 shot (money is tight) and I'd hate to spend my one shot at an upgrade to get a dud. Decisions decisions....

i got the 720 international version of the phone which has dual sime , 6G Ram, 64 Ram, and the EUI5.8 i was told the EUI5.8 for both US and 'internation version' are almost same. as least for the main functionality part of it. here are some screen shoot. i feel it is better than the google's mm 6.0. and some niche control features. see the attached. i have used the phone for only few days. so far, the performance is very good ( lightning fast) and the battery just last ( compare to my old Samsung note 5), and with the built in phone management tool, you wont need other power saving apps. i compared to use greenify or just phone's power management, the battery performances are the same. so i removed the greenify. basically, i noticed there are quiet few firmware update for other LeEco previous models. so hopefully we will get good support for this new model as well. compare to native google phone, i prefer LeEco's control function . press the left bottom, you will get the full control interface which allow you to do few things in one screen. very handy!

During the Nov. 2 flash sale each customer is limited to 5 devices at the discounted rate, assuming the member has claimed the coupon all 5 times. Also, there is limited stock so be sure to order as soon as you can and if you do happen to miss the sale, don't worry there will be another.
I lost my Nexus 6 to water damage and ordered OnePlus 3, but their supply is very slow, it's taking more than 3 weeks to get shipped, so when Le Pro 3 was launched, I cancelled my OnePlus 3 order and waiting for Nov 2 to order it. With new manufacturer there are so many unknowns, but it this price point I am pretty sure enough people will buy this phone that we will have very good support for this phone on xda.

I wonder if the slow down of shipments is due to the new oneplus 3T coming out soon??
I am not worried about dev support for le pro 3. I am worried about LeEco being lame and never releasing source code. they posted the source code on opensource.le.com but then took it down. Some people are saying the code was bad anyway. devs cant really do anything without the kernal source, its not worth their time and energy in that case.

It says on the site that supplies are limited. In the Chinese debut they sold out 500,000 units in 15 seconds. I think US release might have less units but also it will have less buyers.
Hi,
As per invites Lg is going to release newest V30+ in India this 13th December 2017. Who's excited?
There are still few things unknown like will we get unlocked device with boot loader unlock available officially in future (too optimistic?), price of the phone and coming with pre installed Oreo?
Feel free to share your views about the device, its performance, updates, customer support etc. here.
About time this thread started!
My wish list:
1. Most importantly, I hope that launch date = availability date. We're done with announcements, LG
2. B&O earphones please - don't shortchange Indian customers
3. Oreo - although not so important for now
4. All colour variants please, especially Moroccan blue
5. Pricing sub 50k would be good.

Oh crap!
I couldn't wait for India launch so I ordered the V30+ from HK a week ago, its being delivered later on today! Paid 63k total, yikes!!
I have been looking for a good dual SIM phone to upgrade to from my Nexus 6p and right now the only contenders are HTC U11 plus, LG V30, and OP5T. HTC U11 Plus is my ideal phone, but not sure if it launching here. A question to LG device owners here, are their dual SIM phones rootable and will the V30 also be rootable? If it's not rootable, then I''ll have to wait even longer for my next device.
Edit: Never mind looks like root is not available on any of the versions of this phone.
Crazy pricing! Rs45k - available on Amazon exclusively from 18-Dec. But from what I read, no B&O earphones and no Oreo. Also only black & silver colours. But all that is ok given that its almost 20k less than Note 8 and horrendously priced Pixel 2 XL. They'll have to cut pricing now.

Really Confused after the Price annoucement at Rs45k.
Hi all, I'm new to this awesome site. I am from India.
I'm confused between HTCu 11, HTCu 11 Plus and LG v30+ to buy.
U11 and V30 are available at the same price.
Q1:-Could anyone tell me around when U11+ will come to India?
My experiences with both V20 and G6 have been so horrendous that I had to sell them both within the first month as I could not take in the stutter and awful overnight battery drain and mild heating issues even when I was using it casually(no games or FBook etc).
Q2:- u11 Plus would be priced, even if it does arrive in India, at least Rs 10k-15k ( 150 to 230 American dollars ) higher than U 11. I dont want to spend that much more if the upgrade is not worth it. So is it worth that much?
Please someone... anyone.... do reply
Thanks
I was not at all expecting a price tag of 45K at all. LG phones don't really hold their value, but this price seems very reasonable. About 7k more than OP5t but offering better screen, cameras, audio output through headphone jack , IP68 rating etc. while OP5t 128GB version has double the RAM though and better software. with custom ROM support. Really hard choice to make!!! I still think the U11 plus is the right phone for me, but HTC I don't know what they are doing by not releasing their phone.
Anyone knows about Official bootloader unlock for Indian version? Will it ever come? Anyone with experience in past with lg phones?

It is surprising and it makes me wonder how it differs from the versions sold abroad. Whether anything is missing, the v30 in the uk was launched at £800 cuple of months back, this one works out to £520. The difference is online store margins are less than street retail
oneplus does not have better software. It only has better rom support.
It looks like the india version is the same as the HK one (going by the user manual) , the boot loader will likely be unlockable so forget getting root
unless you import the euro variant which means no warranty in India whereas they get two years

I had battery drain just one night out of a month i own the v20. A restart fixed it. I would say the one thing The v20 has low drain otherwise averaging 4-6% per 12h with the secondary screen off. Otherwise its 1% per hour and if it faces somewhere bright can be higher as it seems to brighten the screen up on its own irrespective of what auto brightness was set to.
As far as temperature goes this is a cool phone. Won't cross 33 degrees C at fastest charge which happens only with screen off as with all LG phones. The G4 would run five degrees warmer on avg

India is basically getting the "$400 gift card" price (where you have to buy two LG devices) without having to buy two phones or any hassle with submitting receipts, forms. They're just getting the final price and even a few dollars less.
U.S.: 2 X $930 (LG V30+) = $1860 - $400 gift card = $1460 / 2 = $730.
And the gift card trick is no longer available in U.S. I was forced to buy a carrier unlocked LG V30 to qualify before the December 2 deadline. My second phone will then be the carrier unlock LG V30+, when it's released. India even beat us on that.
India: $700 LG V30+. (44,900 rupees)
so did anyone pre ordered yet ?

Haven't heard of any display anomalies plaguing ALL of the international units. But people do like to start rumors.
Just like the people who tried to make it a "widespread" problem in the U.S. It wasn't. And since production ramped up in September, it's been even lesser percentage as time goes on.

Read the India Today article on LGV30+ released about 2 days back. It'll tell you a lot
According to one of the reviews I saw on YouTube, it says Made in India at the back of the device. And also B n O earphones are replaced by LG made earphones.
This phone is a massive 90° turn for google as much on the software side than the hardware.
SO let me know:
1- Are you excited for the GP6 Pro?
2- Do you plan on buying it?
3- What the feature, following the leaks and the I/O that you anticipate the most?
For me :
1- YESSSSSS!!!!!!! (see the title)
2- I'd love to, I'll wait though. I want to see the firsts feedbacks before buying one.
3- To me, the whitechapel SoC really picked my interest a lot. It will either be a deception or a big nice surprise, don't disappoint me Google!
Yes, sort of.
Maybe. I have the Pixel 5: a meh phone, with useless VZ 5G so I turned it off. The only things I'm happy with are battery life, weight/portability, and that I didn't upgrade my plan to a 5G plan.
New in-house chip. I'm not holding my breath on "new and improved" because Google tends to let everyone down prior to announcement, so I'm expecting the same here.
Edit: To be fair, I flipped flopped on buying the Samsung Galaxy 21 Ultra for the camera. What keeps me with Pixel is their call screening. There's been so many of them, the call screening is the best.
I'm buying it the second it's ready!
I'm not excited bcz it has the same 8mp periscope that Vivo, Realme or ZTE etc are using

We can atleast have GCam on other 8mp periscopic phones to get a similar output like GP6 pro. Hence wanted Google to have its in-house sensor or atleast get one from other sensor makers specifically for GP6 pro. PS: those other phone can atleast have GCam and I didn't ignore this.
I'm gonna buy it as soon as I can. I am still running my Pixel 2XL.
1- Yes, finally the Pixel phone we were waiting for.... Hopefully
2- Day One
3- Combination of the Whitechapel SOC and Camera setup. Still not the same amount as the 21 Ultra, one thing Google knows is how to get the best out of hardware they go with. We are talking about the potential capability of iPhone structure but with more modern tech throughout the phone.
I'm very excited as I am for most Pixel releases. I am buying the second it becomes available. I'm afraid if I wait, with the chip shortage, I might miss out if I don't act fast. I am really excited about the new chip and, hopefully, tight integration between software and hardware. I am also really excited for the triple camera setup. Between the nearly 1" sensor, higher resolution and Googles image processing software I am fully expecting them to retake the photo crown back from Apple.
I would like to see eSIM availability on day one. One National carrier, and eSIM for spare carrier/international travel. I sold my Samsung S21+ Unlocked because I couldn’t activate an eSIM!
I have currently a Oneplus 8 Pro. Camera is very average, with Android 11 they moved further away from stock Android, Updates come very slow now that there are newer Oneplus devices (had november security patch until mid february, then we got january patch instead of february...)...
I am so excited for Pixel 6 Pro, as this phone is finally a pixel phone that seems to make no compromises:
Tripple cam
Big Battery
120 hz
Great performance chip (not a hardcote gamer, so must not be top notch for me)
New camera senors...!
I think Pixel 6 Pro will crush it this year.. looks like a S21 Ultra with clean Android.. !! Nice!
But i guess the price tag will be huge, around S21 Ultra launch price (maybe just a little less)
I'm not excited. Mainly because ever since I bought the Pixel 1 and loved it, and used it until a year ago when I got a 512 GB Samsung, I was anticipating getting a 256 GB Pixel as my next upgrade once one was available. I waited four years and now, though, I wouldn't upgrade to another Pixel unless it had 512 GB of internal storage (or have a Micro SD slot, which won't happen with the Pixel). I like my music local and in FLAC, and have my entire library with me. I'm happy that they've finally decided to have 256 GB of storage as an option, but that just won't cut it for me anymore.
I'm extremely apprehensive about this, on one hand it's possibly the flagship Pixel that we've always wanted. On the other hand, it's running a custom chipset that's based on exynos. What does that mean for root access? It seems like exynos chips are always running behind on getting rooted and are generally less efficient than their Snapdragon counterparts. That's complicated by the fact that it's basically a bespoke chip now just for pixel phones.
We'll see, I'm currently holding on with my OnePlus 6t, but OP is dead to me going forward. I was planning on definitely switching to Pixel, but now I'm waiting to see how much access the dev community has to the device

For Exynos Chipset: the exynos Chipset in the S21 Series is great. It is about on the same level than the Snapdragon. Some people even claim it has better battery life and doesnt heat up as much than the Snapdragon version.
Since the Pixel 6 Chip seems to be based on this Exynos Chip with some minor changes, i am sure it will be great!!
It is the first Exynos phone i would buy.
The difference between exynos and snapdragon s21 is not noticable anymore. I m pretty sure that performance and battery will be great.

True, while the gap is closing, there is still a gap. That's really not my main holdup, it's getting root without losing too many features.
Google has been tightening the reins on Android for years. Hopefully we will get full root access without many sacrifices, just need to wait and see
The last google phone I purchased was the Nexus 4 at release, then later I got a Nexus 9. The Pixel series has never interested me, especially design wise. If the P6P's renders are accurate it'll be my 1st google device in years.
I've been running Samsung devices the past few years because no Pixel hardware has really impressed me since the 2XL. The software has been great but hardware has been lacking. I desperately want to get back on the Pixel bandwagon and if all these leaks turn out to be accurate this will finally be the phone that does it! I'll be trading in my Note Ultra 20 on it. Wish we didn't have to wait til late September or October.
Yep...I am. I hope the Pro version has a flat screen instead of a curved screen though.

This phone is a massive 90° turn for google as much on the software side than the hardware.
SO let me know:
1- Are you excited for the GP6 Pro?
2- Do you plan on buying it?
3- What the feature, following the leaks and the I/O that you anticipate the most?

1. I'm stoked. Haven't been this excited for a Google device since the Galaxy Nexus w/Ice Cream Sandwich, though the Nexus 5 leak accompanied by KitKat ranks up there.
2. I plan on F5'ing the Google Store repeatedly as soon as the presentation starts, so yeah.
3. Whitechapel and, Material You (biggest software overhaul since 4.4). Also it seems like Google gives a darn about hardware now.

With u on this
Hi,
I have P5 right now and it works fine, Is it worth to buy in that point of time P6Pro even though that in october suppose to come a new pixel? and also with the problem that he had?
Thanks
Hi @I7210I,
This seems like a Question thread (the default), rather than a General thread. You should change it back.
In answer to your question, I'd say if you find the Pixel 6 Pro cheaply enough, sure, buy it. Recently I saw news of sub-$300 Pixel 6 Pros on sale somewhere.
If you're going to pay full price or near full price (or monthly installments that total up to near full price), then I'd suggest just waiting.
Thank you,
The price I can get is 830 USD for the 256GB and 640 for the 128 GB
Personally, I would wait then, although I would fully expect to pay more than that for the Pixel 7 Pro. Since the Google Store is directly selling the SIM-unlocked (bootloader unlockable) 128 GB Pixel 6 Pro for $649 (at one point in the process it says $899, but the next step shows it back at $649), and you can get the 512 GB unlocked P6P for $849 direct from the Google Store, I would first determine what size you want. If 128 GB is enough for you, the $640 from your source isn't horrible, but if you need more storage than 128 GB, I think I would hold off until the Pixel 7 Pro even though you will definitely be paying more than $850 for any Pixel 7 Pro.
So I probably didn't make the decision any easier, but...
Also, I didn't stop using my Pixel 1 until a few months after it received its last update in December 2019 or so.
And the release date of the pixel 7 is right?
and about the p6, is the bugs are fixed with the updates?
thanks

I don't know what the release date of the Pixel 7 is. It is probably either next month or as you said, more likely October/late October. October 19, 2021 was when they had the first-day pre-orders for the Pixel 6. It was a nightmare. Their site couldn't handle the load, but eventually maybe five hours later I was able to pre-order. Got my wife's and my factory unlocked Pixel 6 Pro 512 GB models in late October.

The only noticeable bugs I remember ever having were a slight problem with using gestures with third-party Launcher apps, but it didn't cause me a problem that often and was always recoverable. I know others have had other bugs but I was one of the lucky ones.
I haven't noticed the issue the last less than two days I've had 13 Stable installed but that isn't really long enough to tell if the issue is still around.
Personally, I think Android 13 is much smoother than Android 12, and when I reboot the phone, the home screen loads noticeably faster the first time I unlock it. I've been withholding full judgment one way or another on 13 because it takes time to observe all the overall differences objectively, and sometimes there is also a placebo effect with a new shiny Android version, but my general impression is that Android 13 compared to 12 is like Android 5.11 compared to 5. But honestly not as big a difference as the 5->5.11 changes - just reminiscent of that situation, although Android 5.x was when I was still using non-Google OEM phones.
You're welcome! Good luck with whatever you choose to do.
And we said nothing on the competitors (S22 ultra) in front of the pixel 6 pro...
So everything is relayed on rumors about the release dates...
The price sounds good , and you said you was lucky about the 6 pro so that's one thing that might be scary

Well, from what I've seen in this section there were plenty of others who were lucky too. Any one of us can be lucky or unlucky with any phone brand or model.

agreed, it might catch you in any brand and device.
overall I think that for that price it's looks good, and who knows what will be the start (problems, prices) of the 7 pro, isn't it?
and to go the S22 ultra is something else

i has hear several rumors about an early realease by september, with official ETA for early october... you could wait a little bit, however the price for the P6/P6P will surely down with the new ones on market, si it could be a good time for to buy at reasonable price.
I'd wait. The Pixel 7 looks like it could solve a lot of issues and shortcomings with the Pixel 6.
The Pixel 6 is getting harder to find as Google apparently wants the inventory gone.
If you're in the US, you could get a Pixel 6 Pro for $0 down from T-Mobile on the JOD program and upgrade to a regular Pixel 7 for free (Pro probably $150-$300 down?) when it comes out.
So as far as I see, the p7 pro is behind the corner, I'm in Europe till 7 of September, I hope that I will have good news till than...
anyhow, looks like its better to wait than if I understand, also the thing with the inventory is right
