This phone is about 5 months old and recently (2 weeks ago) it started to randomly display "no sim card" error randomly until you reboot the device.
Has anyone encountered / found a fix for this?
Currently the sim is working but may stop working again. Ordered a new one from my provider to test.

I am shocked! I know you can figure this out. Just step away for a few minutes and clear you mind and then come back to the problem with a fresh look. In the mean time I will try to find something.

I reset my network settings via the system options and so far, it has not done it again. Will wait and see. I have another sim card coming in the mail as well. If after the above 2 things I've done do not work, will try a new firmware reflash.
Upon further inspection, it seems the no sim card error is caused by using airplane mode. If I disable airplane mode, the device doesn't re-detect the sim card until you reboot. Any fixes for this beside upgrading firmware? I am still using old a11 firmware.

Lol no, there's no need to convert to global since the firmware itself is already global. I am not using a t-mobile phone. Purchased unlocked. I never messed with param or modem. It is direct firmware flashed / downloaded from the repo here:
[OnePlus 9 Pro][ROM][OTA][Oxygen OS] Repo of Oxygen OS Builds
As OnePlus doesn't always provide download links for all of their OxygenOS ROMs & OTA update zips, we've created an index to put the links in one post so that they're easy to find. Note: This is not a support thread for issues you may have with...

That is the original firmware the phone came with, of course I flashed a bunch of other stuff.
It is possible that the sim card is at fault, if the new card does not fix the issue, maybe re-flash the modem that is all that I can offer at this time.

I will try, the sim should be arriving today or tomorrow, latest. If it doesn't fix anything, will use MSM to go completely factory and take it from there.
Fixed, had to format everything fully and reinstall everything. Working like it should on a11.
The sim card was not the problem. Somehow when I restored my internal data with a twrp script, it messed up a bunch of stuff.

My problem started some months ago, when a friend tried to root my phone, he told me that he rooted it but every app that checks for root told me that it wasn't rooted and i couldn't use apps that needed root also, the downside to all this is that i couldn't use apps that do not allow root, like the banking app, or Pokemon Go, but i used the phone like that for some months until last week when i decided to try and fix it. I thought that if i flash a stock firmware everything should be fine and the phone should be as new. On the phone, it says that the model is SM-N910F(behind the battery), in the settings it also said SM-N910F, so i tried flashing a rom for this model at first and it kept failing with me not knowing why. After trying different thing and googleing some time, i finally noticed that in "Fast Download", it says that the phone's model is SM-N910P, so i started searching about this, i didn;t understand why there were 2 different models on my phone, then i found out about searching my IMEI on imei.info, so i tried it and here it was SM-N910C, i had no idea what all this meant, but at this time i already got stuck into bootloop. Eventually, i found this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/help/help-sm-n910f-sm-n910p-bootloader-t3299285 and did what cam_bob22 said, it worked, i finally flashed the firmware on my phone and it worked, i could use the bank app, pokemon go, everything was fine except the fact that i couldn't select or change my mobile operator, when going to mobile networks, the mobile operators options was greyed out and couldn't be pressed(i want to mention that i did have service and that data worked but the internet would work only in roaming and i couldn't get 4G). So i tried updating the software from 5.1.1 to 6.0.1 like it was said in the instructions and hopping that this update would fix the issue, but unfortunately for me after the update i somehow lost service completely, the signal sign was in the shape of a triangle with no bars, and the mobile operators setting was exactly as before.
So far i tried going back to 5.1.1 but besides the Hands Free activation that i can't make to go away, i still can't use the mobile operators setting and my data only works with roaming activated and doesn't get 4g. One thing that i forgot to mention is that the IMEI with the 5.1.1 firmware was of a samasung Galaxy S5 not a note 4, i checked it on imei.info.
I was wondering if there is any way for me to go back to the OS i had before my friend tried to root my phone, when it said in the settings that it was SM-N910F and everything worked as it should have.
Thank you for reading and i really hope someone can help me.
@robert11arad
There is no way to go back unless he made a backup. Which is why you should always do this before you flash anything.
I'm not sure if this will help but you could try flashing a international custom Rom after you have correct firmware. But if your phone is a Sprint version, you'll have to use a special data fix and kernel.
What firmware did you end up using to flash? Was it Sprint? If so, and you use gsm service, try flashing my Gsm stock Rom for Sprint phones. It's in post 2.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...t/05-15-17-debloated-deodexed-rooted-t3607029
You'll first need to be on current marshmallow firmware. So flash firmware with Odin first, then install Twrp with Odin. Then install Rom with Twrp.

No, the network operators is unlocked but there's still no service, when i try scanning for an operator it just stops with no message, and nothing happens.
I forgot to mention this, but before all this happened, I made a back-up of the phone with smart switch, is it possible to get back to how it was using that? And another thing is that when using the backup, it only restores music and photos, no contacts, no apps.(From what i've noticed so far)

Ok. About the best advice i can give is, because your on pure Sprint Rom, something is messing up with csc or something.
All i can suggest, is maybe try updating to QC1 with Odin and then try flashing my gsm Rom. Which is essentially just a tmobile rom.
And if that don't give you the function you you need. Then maybe try an international Rom.
It's hard to say what the last person did to the phone.

Also. You stated your phone first showed as a 910f. So maybe flashing a international F rom, will provide the correct csc settings for your phone to work. Only problem your gonna have, is because it's Sprint hardware, you'll have to pair the Rom with a kernel that'll work and some lib files for data.
I can help you by putting together some files to flash. But the main question would be, Do you want a stock note 4 Rom?
Also before any of this happened, do you know what firmware you were on? Marshmallow? Lollipop?

I would really appreciate if you helped me put the files together cause i have no idea how any of this works, i'm new. But i wanted to ask, is there any chance for thia to brick my phone?
When it had sm-n910f on it i couldn't update it after 5.1.1, when i pressed update it wouldn't do anything.
And yes, if possible i would like it to be a stock firmware, but if it is not possible i don't mind using something else as long as it works properly.
Thank you for all your help, i don't know what i would do otherwise.

Well, first, let me state, about bricking device. I have to state that it's not impossible to brick. But after hundreds of flashes never had problem. These devices are hard to brick. What hard bricks a device is messing with boot loader and partitions that shouldn't be messed with, like trying to unlock lte bands. But just flashing roms is fine unless you flash a Rom not for your phone and it over writes wrong partition.
All snap Dragon note 4s have the same layout so all you need is correct kernel, csc, and some ril lib files to get data working.
Now, mine main worry is that the phone is still unlocked, because I don't know what possible changes were made to it.
But with all that being said,I'll move on. With another post.

Before we go too deep into this and upgrade and stuff. I'd like to just test a custom Rom on your phone and see what works.
So what firmware are you on right now?
5.01, 5.1.1, or 6.0.1?
I'm gonna take a guess and move on. You last stated you were on OG5 which it's 5.1.1. So if that's true, let's try the following.
First I'm gonna assume you already used Odin to flash that firmware. So now we need to flash Twrp. So download this on pc https://eu.dl.twrp.me/trlte/twrp-3.1.1-0-trlte.img.tar
1 . Put phone in download mode. Open Odin and plug in phone.
2. In Odin options make sure everything is unticked except Reset Flash Counter.
3. Now click on AP and select the Twrp file.
4. Flash it. Let it flash until it states it's completed. Once done. Unplug phone. Pull out battery. Put back in and boot to recovery by holding power+home+vol.up
5. Now you should have Twrp. Just reboot phone so we can continue to next post.

Ok, here you go. If your where we left off, you should be on stock QC1 and have Twrp installed.
Just download this file, boot into recovery, and install. This file will delete dalvick/cache, so phone will take a few minutes to boot up.
I actually recommend before flashing, you do a factory reset in recovery then install.
Anyhow here you go. Let me know if it fixes what your looking for. If not, my only others option is to install a custom n910f Rom. I'll gladly walk you through if need be. But try this first.

Alright so i just tried it and when starting my phone, i can't even set it up because i keep getting a message that com.android.phone has stopped. After about half an hour of trying to start it, i finally managed to get to setting and to app manager, there i looked for com.android.phone and it was nowhere to be found. Apart from this i noticed a N with some signal bars where my phone signal should've been and i didn;t get the hands free activation anymore, but that's all...

My pixel xl started bootlooping. I can get into fastboot but that's it. If I try to boot twrp, bootloop, if I flash stock, bootloop. I've tried Oreo, pie. This came out of nowhere. I tried a gsi, bootloop. I'm very confused. The memory works because its flashing. Something has to be triggering a reboot. Only thing I know of that forces restart is unencrypted internal storage

I bought a one plus literally a week ago. Lucky on my end. Whatever google did it is bad. I opened up the kernel and disabled the securities. Unencrypted the data. Still nothing. I've manually flashed over every partition 1 by 1, switched to the other slot and tried there. This looks like its going to be a battle. I've got a feeling what we flash isn't copying over some things because it keeps the newest version, which is why we can flash but not overwrite the problem

New update on Firmware.science SS-G975USQU1ASBA-to-U1ASD3-UP
This is a Snapdragon update. Must be on latest SBA firmware. Download, copy to SD card and power the phone down. After it's off, hold power, bixby and volume up until you see Samsung S10+ screen, or you can hold until you see the blue screen, then let go. Choose update from sd card and choose the dowloaded file you copied to SD card. It wont wipe on verizon for sure. Dont know about other carriers. On S9 the only carrier that got wiped with every update like this was ATT. All others were fine.
This made a HUGE improvement on fingerprints for me. I deleted all my saved and when i re-did them, it registered every touch with very little pressure for 4 fingers. (I do two for each thumb) I maybe got 3 errors saying press harder the whole setup. Before i had to press pretty hard. When unlocking it unlocked 10 out of 10 times and quicker than before. I haven't found a changelog so i'm not sure what else is in it. It is 536MB. Enjoy and please post what you find has changed. UPDATE: I stopped counting at 50.. but only 2 errors unlocking with 50+ tries.
I hope this helps my bluetooth.. ASC8 helped my fingerprint but I think it mad BT worse
Confirmed!! What he says is 100%
Verizon SD here and fingerprint is short press now not hard pressure and is perfect. Download file, rename to Update.zip, put on sd card(root directory), choose reboot, hold down only boxby and vol up keys, go to update from sd card. Dont freak if it takes a while-expect 10 mins or so.

That firmware build indicated that it was an update for t-mo build. This works across all the current SBA builds? Reason I am asking is my build is a bit different than the one listed on firmware.science
My build: G975U1UEU1ASBA (my device is carrier unlocked version ordered via samsung.com)
Firmware.science link shows G975USQU1ASBA -> U1ASD3
Further, if I go to the firmware.science homepage and manually enter my s10+ and model number, it just lists the early march update.

This is not for unlocked version, unless you want to install the carrier firmware with bloat first and then update it. Otherwise wait for unlocked U1 to release something.
Is this an official release or will we have to backtrack to SBA later? (Don't want to factory reset)

By the way, I have the Whitestone Dome installed, it's a significant improvement over what it was before. Almost as good, if not just as good, as the previous update with the stock screen protector installed!
Definitely worth flashing this!
Thanks @nugzo!
Anyone know if this is what T-Mobile will be pushing OTA?
FP is a lot better now with this
To make sure.
If I have T-mobile branded s10+, and I install this firmware, will I still be able to get official T-Mobile OTA updates from then on?
how long does starting android take??? mine has bene on starting android screen for about 5 mins now.
I was unable to use the file to update from the SD card. The update would error off after 2 seconds. I was able to get it to update using the ADB method with no issues. Everything works fine, no data loss and the FP is definitely more responsive. Verizon S10+

Hi everyone,
I have an issue with my wife's OP3 that is driving me nuts.
Her phone runs stock OS without any changes but with an unlocked bootloader (just to be on the safe side i like to have an unlocked bootloader on all our devices).
I'm not sure if its related but I'm including it anyways she was playing a game on her phone and then she received a call and she answered it and tried to switch the call to speakerphone and the phone started rebooting right after booting the OS after 2-5 sec i would say "factory data reset" (see attached screenshot) and would reboot to the recovery.
then i would boot the phone again and the issue repeats itself.
so i used fastboot boot twrp.img to boot a recovery image and run a nadroid backup to a USB OTG just in case the phone is really hosed or whatnot.
I downloaded stock zip from oneplus's site and flashed it again from TWRP just to make sure its not some funky issue that happened to the os.
I even factory reset the phone from stock recovery and the issue would happen on the new phone setup wizard.
after a bunch of fiddling around I've flashed LineageOS 16 nightly and the phone boots normally and is fully usable but when i try to make or receive a call the phone app freezes and then crashes also sound doesn't seem to work when i try to play videos from youtube for example.
Any ideas what is the issue and how i can resolve it ?
thanks a bunch !!

Take a backup of your personal files and then wipe system, data, internal storage and both caches. Then flash OOS 5.0.8 and without adding any apps, check the calling function. If it still happens, then most likely a hardware issue.

Any ideas what is the issue and how i can resolve it ?
thanks a bunch !!

try using msm v3.0 tool fixes most problems not hardware though

Hmmm quite strange that you're having the same issue.
I didnt find a solution yet i gave her a temp replace phone that we had in a drawer somewhere.
Did your wife do anything out of the ordinary when it happened? are you having the same issue that LOS works but stock rom shows factory reset?
thanks.

No, She did not do anything out of the ordinary. But weirdly I have exactly the same things happening. Lineage works but no sound. Everything else factory resets. I have tried quite a few ROM'swithout any luck. So far the only ROM which worked for some time(1day) was 6.0.1 . I have spent quite a long time on this flashing various ROM and dont know what to do now.

Update: @ireaper4592 might have a point here. I have gone one level up and I tried msm v3.0 tool, thus doing a complete reinstall including firmware. The factory resetting stopped but the sound was not working (I thought that it could be the ROM and the security patches). So I updated to the latest ROM available from Oneplus and evrything has been working since. I did this last night so not sure how long this is going to stay like that. I will give it some time and update later. Wife is using it now!
what you will need to do is download the oneplus 3 recovery tool and put the phone into qualcolm mode and restore the phone that way. here is a link https://www.androidexplained.com/oneplus-3-unbrick-return-stock/

its really good to know.
did you have to wipe the internal storage for this process to work ?
Do you have a guide that you've used to get this working?
Thanks in advanced.

That tool/procedure will reset your phone. So you will lose everything on the phone. Take a backup beforehand.
The link posted in the post above yours contains the guide as well as the tools. It also has links to the original guide here on XDA.

I cant believe it i was sure this was a hardware issue which ended up being a software one that the MSM tool fixed.
When I have a few minutes to spare i'll write a full post on how I ended up resolving it with step by step instructions and how I did it without any dataloss.
Thank you for all your help!

Hopefully we will get it back with Android 10. I'm using superior os 10 till we get it.. so far it works pretty nicely.
Also got the update. The size looks ok for a simple security patch and minor fixes so nothing major.
Phone starts ok, no problems so far.
This is the first update that no one is complaining about yet... so it's a change in the right direction for the Xiaomi OTAs.
Xiaomi Mi A2 users (they got it 3 days earlier) said that it even works fine with Magisk.
I had 2 odd things happen as a result of installing this OTA.
1) USB Debugging was turned off. No other developer things seem to have changed, just that toggle was off.
2) My timezone was changed. Almost like the phone temporarily forgot I didn't want to use network-provided timezone (it often picks the neighbouring state, which has a 1-hour offset from here).
I've never had this happen with previous OTAs.
Hi, after updating device to November 1 patch device have no network signal. I can't call or receive calls. I have restored phone and still not working. Anyone with the same problem? What can I do to rollback to previous version? Thanks in advice

My dad didn't have this issue. Make sure it isn't your network provider having this problem
If you don't enroll your fingerprint before updating to v 10.0.16 ,you can't do it after the update

Hello, if someone is experiencing the same problem, I resolved it flashing the official stock rom with Miflash tool. Cheers
This update has definitely done something to the signal mine is falling onto 2G a lot, before that I was steady on 4G. Once it hits 2G it stays on it regardless of the signal strength until you restart the phone. It is very annoying.
After this update recent apps not working anymore. All apps are closing immediately, not minimizing. Does someone having the same issue?
Getting permanent SD card issues - "integrity check" notification after each unlock or even "incompatible card" message from time to time. Anyone else with this?

This sounds like the known issue with new/fast cards. There's a thread where it was discussed.

That's a problem that sometimes occurs since Pie came out. Restarting the mobile should fix it.

My multitasking seems to be very bad after the update...
Hello,
I have Mi A2 lite with magisk installed, and I am unable to perform the november OTA update.
here is what I do:
1. In magisk : Uninstall > restore images
After doing this, magisk still looks the same:
2. Launch the OTA update.
I first have this screen:
red message translation: "Install will resume when the phone is not active. Click on resume to finish installation now"
3. Clicking on resume will start the installation, but it fails after some moment:
4. After that, I go back to Magisk: Install > Direst install to avoid having Magisk uninstalled after reboot. When doing this, here is the screen:
I don't understand why my OTA is refused...
Is there something to setup in magisk hide ? In order to hide magisk from the OTA updater ? or anything else ?
/system could have been modified, you can try flashing only that partition to solve the issue

The upgrade tool writes a log to logcat. It says which partition it does not like.
adb logcat | grep update_engine
There have been no fastboot image released for 10.0.15.0. I have backups of both system and vendor (since they both seem to be modified every OTA for me). If you can confirm that either of these is needed I can try to upload it somewhere. Note that these are very large partitions.
Alternatively, you could use the 10.0.13.0 fastboot and OTA from there. Make sure to backup data before doing this.
